I always had great service at Perry Mazda until the last two times I went. Grant Lee literally yelled at me because I didn’t give him a 5-star rating after my previous service. Everyone in the service area heard him yelling at me, but nobody stepped in to tell him he was out of line. He literally handed me a copy of a 5-star review and said that was how I was supposed fill it out. Unbelievable. I thought the post-service Mazda reviews were confidential; they’re not. I answered it honestly because I wanted them to know where they could improve. My reward was retaliation.
Omar was patient with our process of buying a new car. He was available for any questions or concerns we had and gracious to accommodate us on our timeline. If I could I would give them 10 out of 5 stars. They were understanding that I didn’t want to have any additional costs added after I drove from LA all the way to SB and kept their promise. My first experience was pretty good. Went in and test drove the new Mach e. They didnt follow up with an email which I was kind of surprised by. My second experience not so good. I went in discuss ordering a Mach e, but they couldnt give me any decent information. They couldnt tell me when it would be available, not even within 6 months, and they couldnt tell me what incentives were offered. They also told me I could order it online at home. That turned out not to be true you have to do it in the dealership according to the message that I got.
I brought my 2019 Mazda 3 to Perrys for service last week. When I called originally to set up the appointment I spoke with a gentleman who inquired why my car needed services. I explained that I had some maintenance lights requiring a computer upgrade as well as a parking light that was out.I brought the car in around 1 pm and was told it would be complete by the end of the day. When I arrived to drop the vehicle, I was told they had me scheduled for an oil change. I explained that was incorrect and again explained what needed to be fixed and left.I came back around 4:30pm and was told that my car would be ready shortly. When I went inside to handle any payments for service, I noticed that I was not charged for the replacement of the parking light and that Perrys Mazda claimed to have run a 99 point inspection which my vehicle passed (including checking lights). I couldnt understand how a mechanic could pass the 99 point inspection with a light out 🤷♂️I went back out to speak with the service representative who apologized and said that he didnt think I wanted to have my light changed because it wasnt covered by my plan. Nobody at Mazda could explain how a 99 point inspection could be completed but miss that a light was out (not even noted in the mechanic notes).So they had to take my car back into service and replace the light. While I was inconvenienced for an additional half hour, I was happy to have the light replaced but overall not happy with the service or poor communication nor was I happy to hear my car passed a 99 point inspection without notation of the light out.After I left, my service light for low air pressure came on. The instructions for the psi on the Mazda is 36 psi and Perry Mazda set all 4 tire at 31 psi. The poor service is astonishing!I will 100% go to a different Mazda dealership in the future, as should you.
I bought a new 2020 Mazda6 Signature in Soul Crystal Red Metallic for significantly less than msrp, so a big thumbs up on that alone. I live in San Diego and the dealership is in Santa Barbara. The salesperson, Denver, was very accommodating, picking us up from the airport late in the afternoon. The finance officer Jocelyn offered additional packages asexpected, but she was low pressure and very professional. Thumbs way up for both, and now Im a very satisfied customer!

Doesnt matter if you have an appointment, they take forever to fix your car. Hours to replace a small plastic part, previously an entire day to replace my brakes. WITH an appointment! They ask you when you want to pick up your car?? Like as soon as possible!! DUH. Plan to stay here for HOURS

We had alot of repairs to get done on our Mazda 6 and he explained every detail and gave us fair pricing for it all. Sounds unbelievable huh? But its true. These Mazdas are well built and the mechanics at Perry Mazda know what they are doing. Experience the same great service we did and take your Mazda to Perry Mazda. Took my car in for my dash speaker that seemed blown, I currently have an extended warranty so it was covered over a deductible, they took my car and it took them over 5 hours to diagnose the problem I called multiple times but no answer and after leaving a couple messages they still didn’t respond. I came back another day and had my speaker replaced, after picking up the car, as soon as I sat in the car I noticed I still had the same problem that I reported, I took it back and they were confused on what my issue was. I looked up the part number on the invoice and they completely replaced the wrong speaker, one that was working perfectly fine, and funny about it is that the speaker they replaced now rattles like crazy, which it never did before. I asked them if they could replace the right speaker this time and they told me I had to file a whole new claim and pay another deductible, which made no sense since they made the mistake of replacing the wrong speaker even after telling them about it. I took it to a different dealership and they knew the problem right away and are replacing it for free. I would suggest staying clear of this dealership, even if there is a drive to another one, it is definitely worth the drive not having to deal with Perry Ford.

Had the worst customer service, would NOT recommend this place. Second time having a bad experience, will not be going back.Started the experience out yesterday with one of the service customer service people insulting my unisex first name and laughing that it is a boys name. I am a female and I did not find it funny at all.My cars oil change took ALL DAY LONG. Tried calling them at 4:30 pm to ask if my car was ready, no one answered the phone. I called 10 times.I showed up at 5 to get my car. They laughed at me saying that someone called me to tell me it was ready an hour prior. I did not receive a call an hour prior. Then the woman at the cashiers office scoffed at me when I walked in to pay for my cars service. She made no small talk and acted as if she was so much better than me.Would NOT RECOMMEND THEM. I will be driving to other cities to Mazda dealerships next time to get my car serviced.
Grant Lee has taken great care of me and my MX-5 for a long time. I appreciate it immensely. My remote door-lock system quit working at a time when I was facing several urgent issues. Grant took charge of my car and its problems and got them resolved, saving me from some potentially difficult situations.Thank you to Grant! Thank you to Perry!

Grant Lee is exceptional. I appreciate his candor and willingness to help me save money.However, I do wish the estimates would include service and installation charges. My total was more than double the estimate I received from Grant. This was a very bad surprise.Also, hours of operation need to be mentioned when I am picking my car up. The hours on website and on estimate were wrong. We were lucky Grant and the cashier were still there when we arrived.

Pros: mostly competitive, (unless you want to get it on a plan pricing program, then they dont care anymore)sales person was nice.Cons: They took over 2 weeks to process payment back to me on my trade, NOT Mazdaspeed certified (would not fix an issue per the manufacturers spec, because it would take too long) and a ford store more than a mazda dealer, would rather sell you a new car than service your car, charges a Santa Barbara premium for basic thingsService management and sales manager are stuck in the 80s ways of doing thing.attempted to but a 2nd car, but did not want to deal with me once they where told it would be a Mazda employee plan (Am am part of the Mazda Motorsports program)Would not recommend, as they dont follow though with what they say, and rather sweep you under the rug if its not in their favor. Zero after sale support.
Denver was an outstanding representative. I was returning a lease and leasing a new car and he was very friendly and efficient with his time. It took us significantly less time to get back on the road than was expected and it was an enjoyable experience. If old man Perry can hear this, Denver deserves a raise. And a big one at that.

Jerry answered all my questions about choices I had regarding leasing another Mazda or buying my current Mazda. Each and every time he called back when he said he would...his follow up was the best.He had papers overnighted to me to sign and I expect to see Jerry in my new 2021 Mazda CX-5 in my driveway in the next day or so. It will be my third soul Red Mazda CX-5.It will be the first time I will have met Jerry in person... but guarantee it won’t be the last.

This was my first service appointment for this car (my third from Perry) yesterday (3/11/21). It needed its first oil change. Despite the lingering restrictions due to Covid-19, it was simple to leave off and pick up my car. I continue to have confidence in the dealership to care for my car. The service manager, Grant, was very helpful, with a sense of humor, which helps a lot.
I called to set up an appointment a week in advance at 1:30p my appointment was confirmed with whomever I spoke with on the phone, I then got a text the day before reminding me about the appointment. Show up at 1:30p today and am told I have no appointment and everyone was busy so I can wait for oil change and tire rotation. Going on 3rd hour still not ready...

Made an apt last week for a smog. When I arrived I was told the machine was broken. Would have been nice to have received a call before I arrived that I couldn’t get a smog.So this week I called and was able to get in quickly, and everything went well.

Worst service department in the business. I called asking about help identifying the wire colors for R & L rear speakers for 2010 Mazdaspeed 3. I got tossed back & forth between the service & parts department several times before the manager got on the phone. He said he couldnt give me ANY info until I supplied a VIN number. After obtaining it through my insurance company I called back again. By this time both departments were aware of me & my request. I got put on hold several more times, hung up on twice, & finally told that info was unavailable. They had no way of looking it up. I asked if I cant get that info from you where am I supposed to get it & they said call corporate & speak w/ one of their engineers. P.O.S what a sad time we are living in... surrounded by incompetence & utter laziness.
I’m originally from SB but currently live in LA. Due to covid I had to comeback home but also needed my car to be serviced. Right off the bat, I noticed the incredible and friendly staff, and they all seemed to be a family more than coworkers. What I appreciate about them is their honesty as the previous Mazda dealership told me I needed new brakes the last that I serviced, which would have cost me $300. I told Perry Mazda that they had told me this and they said they would look into it. When I got my bill I was surprised to see they hadn’t done the brake job and I asked why. They said it was in the yellow but I didn’t need it right now saving me $300 right now. I really appreciate that told me this and when I do get the brake job done, I’ll be sure to bring it to Perry!

Often fearful of being taken advantage of as a female without expertise in car sales, Andy, the General Manager, was quick to recognize my concerns and insightfully took care of me with directness and respect. I received a high-end price for my trade-in without bargaining, and was given every consideration for coming away with a new Mazda CX 5 at a price I felt greatly satisfied with. Additionally, every staff member that assisted me was professional and gracious, patient, and knowledgeable in guiding me through the process. Though they were working past closing time, Freddy spent as much time as I needed sitting in the car with me explaining how everything functioned. This is an exceptional team with integrity, that makes purchasing or leasing a car a pleasure. I highly recommend them.

Called to make a quick oil change, left my car over night and got a call to pick it up the next day. Easy. Quick. Efficient and a job well done.
The estimate was for about $1500.00. The final cost was over $2100.00. I didn’t get a phone call alerting me of the difference.
I had asked at check in if they could please reset my clock and I was told that was not a problem. But it wasnt done!

The work done to my vehicle was fine and was ultimately resolved. However, I dont recommend them based on their customer service. My vehicle was under a vehicle recall / warranty repair and it took over 7 months to get resolved. While I cant fault Perry Mazda for the lack of parts, their customer service is quite poor. Every time I called, I got bounced around from agent to agent which would most often result in a no answer at one of their departments. I had to take my vehicle in three separate times: 1. Diagnostics 2. Wrong Part Order 3. Repaired = 7 months. Im not sure why it took so many visits especially since the part being replaced was based on a vehicle recall / warranty.When I tried to inquire about the status of the parts I got the response, Will ck and no follow up. When I finally got through on the phone, I was met with, I called you bro and never heard back from you. While its possible the call or text got lost in transmission, the truth is that I never received anything and there was never any follow up communication. In the end, my car was fixed but due to their poor customer service, I will never be using their services unless forced into it by another recall / warranty visit.

But just wish they wouldnt put down that I declined services or something and also says on my paper work that my battery was good and passed my battery isnt good took it to a separate location to double check my battery and turns out I need to replace it also got my own kit and also says needs to be replace. So please tell the people who do this to make sure they tell the truth we go to you guys and trust you my 3 year oldSon goes with me everywhere and wouldnt want anything to happen to us.
Santiago was a great salesman; very personable and helpful. I came in more or less knowing what I wanted. I wasn’t pushed or hounded to buy what they wanted me to buy which is a huge plus to me. Made the process just about as easy as it could be.

I have been using Perry Ford/Mazda for several years to service our Ford trucks. We just bought a CX-5 from out of town and brought it in for an oil change and service inspection. Im never disappointed with the service. Grant is always fantastic to work with and genuinely cares about the quality of work done by the techs at this dealership. A lot of people say dealerships are a ripoff but come on - $74 for a complete oil change with factory parts by a factory trained tech, tire rotation, and complete service inspection? Thats a very fair price to me!

Really poor service. Let my pregnant wife sit in the waiting room for an hour before telling her the part wasnt in yet. Next day she gets the part installed, and they let her sit there for another half hour before she asks if it will be finished soon. They then say oh its been done for a while. Then the cashier and service person on speakerphone were extremely rude and were making up the price on the spot! Will pay extra not to go here next time!
I have gone to Perry Mazda twice for recalls on my Mazda 3. Perry Mazda provides exceptional service, and I feel the staff genuinely cares about helping people. They provide a free shuttle service while you wait for your car to be finished. I appreciate the team, and will continue to go to Perry Mazda for any work my car needs in the future.
Great place with great people. Laurie helped me look around for the car that I want and gave me great advice about how to get in it sooner. On top of that we had a great conversation about cars in general and it made me feel more relaxed about car shopping. Definitely where Im going to take my business.

I bought my Mazda at CJ Mazda in Ventura. They went out of business so I took my car for servicing to Perry Mazda in Santa Barbara. The service advisor Grant Lee was so helpful,attentive, kind and efficient that I was very impressed with their service. I told him that I would be coming back because he was so great. When I returned eight months later he remembered my name. I couldn’t believe it. The prices are great and all of the people are lovely. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Parts department manager Julian was extremely helpful and kind and pick up the service managers short comings. If I had to rate this interaction solely on my interaction with Julian it would be 5 stars and 2 thumbs up but unfortunately the service manager handling my case was unhelpful (never called back and failed to provide date when car would be back) and seemed irritated when I was able to get a hold of him. On top of all this my car came back with a very noticeable door ding in the back passenger door.
I was looking for a new Miata and although we didnt come to an agreement on price. I will say that the sales staff and especially Freddy was super helpful, friendly and considerate. I would recommend them and more specifically Freddy for your car buying needs.

Made our first purchase with Laurie she was amazing and very patient, answered any and all questions we had. The rest of the staff who helped throughout the process was just as great! Definitely will go back for any future purchases.Unfortunately, a week later we got a chip/dent and they were able to get rid of the dent for us (it was a paintless dent removal which was totally fine with us) few days later got melted chocolate on my passenger seat and they also were able to take care of it for us.

I’ve had a couple experiences with Perry Mazda and while the employees handling my service have been pleasant, others have not. Customer service over the phone is not the best. They barely asked me any questions and rushed through the phone call. I have also experienced some issues with hearing back from Mazda. They were not very reliable and my dad and I both had trouble reaching them and ordering parts and scheduling service. I’m not originally from Santa Barbara and my Mazda dealer back home has such great customer service that I was really disappointed here.
The salesperson was not aware the detail of the car and mislead us to purchase a car! Such unprofessional and suspicious behavior is untolerable.
