I had an emergency my glasses have broke and I needed a new pair although I had got my original glasses from optical outlets it was 3 years ago. I thought it would be a long shot to get the same frames again. The young lady who helped me out her name is Melissa and she was fantastic. She got me the exact same frames! She was very helpful and and I was very appreciative of her help. Thank you.

This place was ideal for my situation!! I brought in both kids who wear glasses, but my son is on the Autism spectrum, and I worry because so many places give us a prescription that he won’t wear because “it’s not right”. I explained this worry and the Dr. said it wasn’t a problem because she can add some drops and get his prescription manually. The glasses came in quickly and we have had them 48 hours and except for sleeping they haven’t come off his face one! Needless to say I love this place!! Side note: they take Care Credit… super helpful for a single Mom with 2 wearing glasses!
Save yourself the headache. Got both of our glasses wrong. Mine were wrong a second time and I could only see very blurry. The manager told me they could not make my prescription; that they tried and failed both times so they were not going to try again. She asked for my doctors medical record and I provided it. When I took it in, another technician said she cant figure out what it means. They are incompetent and unwilling to do the job. I have made five visits now. Since they cant or wont make the glasses with my prescription and medical record, I asked for a refund. Do not bother going there it has been a complete waist of time and a headache. In the end they did not do their job and provide an accurate pair of glasses. They have been a complete failure.

WORST SERVICE ! Never pick up phones . Took a month to set up an appointment for them to tell my VSP insurance I’m not listed !!!!! And then then called my insurance and told me There is no problem. The receptionist won’t go with further assistance. My vision is important and they seem to no care

Worst place to get new glasses. I got my exam on April 5th and the prescription was wrong and I couldnt see big signs on the interstates and I couldnt see my dash board in my car. Had another exam 2 weeks ago and the doctor said she couldnt give me nothing better than 20/25 vison and was told my new glasses would be in within 7 days 16 days later I was going buy stopped in still no glasses told them to give me my $$$ back said they couldnt do that. Got thrown out and the police were called. Guess what I got my glasses. I will never walk in to another Optical Outlet again. Done business with them 4 years ago and they had to remake my glasses then also. Think again before you go here for some glasses After $539 this is how you get Treated
After calling for 2 weeks, a total of 6 times, Laura who did not help me at all, was laughing at my frustration! I can tell she did not get the customer service training she so very well needs, or maybe has been there too long and just thinks she can speak to customers anyway she pleases. I am very disappointed with this location!
The entire staff besides one single receptionist (who was very patient) was extremely rude to my mentally disabled mother and then began to laugh at her after which made her feel bad for months. Go to literally any other location.
Took both my daughters there and from the time we walked in to the time we left the staff was very helpful and nice.And I was expecting about 2 weeks for there glasses to come in do to Christmas time but they was ready in 2 days. The Optical Outlets is an awesome place to get your eyes checked. Pascale Fontaine is an amazing employee who guided me through the process and help me to choose the right glasses because of the bifocals. She is enormously polite, kind, and awesome employee.

I took my 11 year old daughter into this office over a week ago for an eye exam and glasses. The Doctor was great, however Laura lacks customer service or obviously hates her job, she was very rude both times going in. The first time I let it slide, but after taking my daughter last night to pick up her glasses, once again she was very rude. My Daughter tried her glasses on and they were loose, Laura was huffing and puffing about having to tighten them and just had very poor customer service. I understand people go through things in life and this is the reason I let the first time go, but twice, theres no excuse for.Also once entering the office, be sure to try to figure out things on your own because noone helps you. Again, once we got to the back, the Doctor was great, still not worth the experience and the over 200.00 I spent there. I definitely will not be back.

The worse company ever!!! I had my 3 children’s glasses sent to the wrong address and the wrong frames were given. To than have to wait for over a month for the correct ones for the kids. And my contacts, 2 months now!!! All from a screw up from the eye doctor lower my rx! To than have them transfer me to another location (Oviedo mall to Sanford mall), to have it all taken care of. Still waiting for over 2 months for my contacts. Do not bother with this company because it’s clear that it is more about money than actually taking care of their customers with actual care. This company has done nothing but have me jump through loops and I am now over it. Time for a different plan.DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY!!

Moscow who claims to be the manager at this location for the past ten years couldn’t of been more condescending and quick to defend the employees who provided wrong information and take advantage of teen daughter by charging her for services not requested. Moscow blamed it all on the doctors in the end and offer no resolution to anything . Never stepping foot in this place again !

They don’t give you a valid prescription so you have no choice but get glasses through them! If you are planning on getting glasses elsewhere, make sure you don’t leave the store until you get a valid prescription with the doctor’s signature on it! Otherwise, they will not do their job to get the valid one to your eye glasses place. I am currently still waiting on them to fax a valid prescription to my eye glasses store. It’s has been three business days. No luck yet....
Dr. Malde was amazing with my 6 year old, 15 year old, and I. The staff in the office were lovely and patient with us picking our glasses and with their testing as well. We are super excited to get our new frames!
I love this place. Ive taken two of my kids here for exams and the doctor was amazing with both of them. Ive also got an eye exam from the same doctor, and he was great with me too. Tonight I went in just to buy a new pair of glasses because mine broke, and the two employees went above and beyond with me. Helped pick out frame after frame to try on and gave me very helpful opinions, never once got impatient with me and I feel extremely satisfied with the two pairs I purchased with their help. Ill always go to this place and Ill recommend it to all of my friends.
Exam was great, doctor was thorough with his questions.. Pascale was extremely helpful & made on point suggestions...and even the other associate Lauren I believe her name was..had asked if I was being helped.. Overall experience was positive..no complaints... Do have to go back and pick up glasses next week .. But that is the same as a few other places I have gone in the past..

We visited this place after calling around to find someone who would see my 4 year old. Dr malde is the best with kids. She made my daughter and I feel so comfortable and relaxed for her first eye exam. I can tell she has a lot of experience with little kids. We will be returning here for her eye exams every year now.
Came as a walk in and was able to be seen quickly. The staff and doctor were friendly. She was able to give me a new prescription and suggest a no glare on my glasses to see better at night. The staff helped me to understand my insurance better. My glasses arrived pretty fast and are working good. The only thing I didnt like was the office looked rundown a little. Will be coming back here for my exam next year.
I did a walk-in eye exam on a Sunday and was told the wait would be 45 minutes. No problem...however I was called in less than 10 minutes! The doctor was very pleasant, professional, & thorough with his examination. Afterwards I looked at frames for awhile. The staff were friendly and helpful. At no time during my visit did I feel rushed, which I appreciate. I ended up getting two frames, with the polycarbonate upgrade, for about $170, which included the eye exam. Very reasonable if you pay out of pocket!*Edit* I see a lot of 1-star reviews here. During my visit, I saw about a dozen other people being helped. I did not feel that the other customers were upset or unhappy, in fact I think they were about as satisfied as I was. Later I walked around the mall, and saw two other eyeglass/eye exam stores. Im thinking the high number of 1-star reviews here are from competitors...*Update* My glasses took 10 days to arrive. I came back, and within 5 minutes they had me trying on my new glasses, which fit perfectly. Overall, extremely satisfied with the customer service, consultation, & quality of the glasses.

Love this place! I Always get progressive lens with transitions and I prefer colors and lightweight plastic. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. One mistake was made a few years ago and the regional manager got involved and corrected it ASAP. GREAT PRICES!( I go to ophthalmologist for vision checks due to special eye issues so have not used their optometrists )
They can be quick, that is for sure. They want to get you in, paid for, and then get you out. Twice I got glasses from them, and twice they never called. I called them. There was an issue with the glasses, and I was told to call back in 2 weeks so they could look into the issue. I called back, and got a quick, unprofessional, Nope.Every year you go, you fill out the new patient form. Why? Maybe they dont save them? I cant be sure. But the girls are generally too busy socializing to pay much attention to the customer. I was put off before, now I am annoyed and searching google for a better eye doctor.

The staff is fantastic, but the doctor is unpleasant. She is not mean, but shes not friendly, either. She never smiles. Aside from her lack of hospitality, she tries so hard to not give me trifocals. Every year, she tries to talk me out of them.This year, she actually convinced me to go back to bifocals. FAIL! After a few days, I requested, and received, the trifocals, BUT it seems she lowered the prescription on all three focals, rendering them worthless to me. I wont even go into how badly she messed up my daughters prescription.I will not be back.
Dr is great, but I was told my glasses would be in aprox 2 weeks. Yesterday marks 2 weeks and I never received a call so I decided to call and check the status of them. Apparently my glasses have been in for the past 12 days and no one has contacted me. (I currently have no glasses or contacts) the primary number the woman repeated back to me wasnt even correct.
This place is amazing from the staff to the doctor. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. they worked hard to make sure I could get my appointment when i needed it and get me the contacts and glasses I needed at the best price with my insurance .
I never had any problems with customer service; my daughter and I had been going there for 2 years. I always got my eye exam for contacts there and the prescription was not correct. I had perfect vision close up but when I wore my contacts my vision was blurry close up. I let the doctor know and he just brushed it off and said get some reading glass. This year i went to another eye doctor and come to find out I was right!! I can see near and far with these contacts I have.
This place sucks not only did they mess up my girls glasses. I recently went to a new place because the wait times are crazy the staff is always in a cranky mood no matter what time of day you come in. But on top of that I decided to take my business right down stairs to lense crafters and come to find out I had the same prescription on both eyes when I mentioned to not only the doctor but also the ladies up front that I’ve always had different prescriptions for both my eyes My glasses where 2 times the amount over in one eye and 3 times the amount over on another. Place go somewhere else it will save you money time and from what now I can see your eyesight..
Poor customer service your associate Taylor was the worse. Her attitude at checking us into the appointment, the way she wasn’t very informative to make matters worse she was on her cell phone the entire time I was there, even though most the staff was busy and phone kept ringing off the hook. I was there far to long for a scheduled appointment. Glad we didn’t need glasses, could have been there longer.
I was just there for an appointment i had on the 3rd for 3 pm . the past reviews i had seen about this place being a disaster was a complete lie. the doctor was nice and funny and he did his job well, and the wait wasnt as long as i thought it would be and the associates in the front were really nice and did their job very well. while i was picking out my glasses one of the ladies helped me pick the ones that my insurance would cover and it was a lot of help and i managed to pick the perfect pair without worrying about them not being covered by my insurance. yes the place can be updated a little more but its not horrible and it is clean. the environment is nice, you wont feel overwhelmed or feel uncomfortable being there and yes they are very good with kids. yes first impressions mean a lot and for my first time being there, my experience was well.
Dont understand the poor reviews and if you are looking for a reasonable optical experience, I would recommend this crew. Not a huge store or selection like a more expensive store like Lens Crafters, but they have a good selection, reasonable prices and friendly staff. My Medicare insured under Freedom Health covered an exam and one pair of bifocals. Total $200Very pleased. Located upstairs near Dicks Sporting Goods in the Mall. Thanks, Kaley!
Would give 0 stars if possible. Terrible customer service were ignored for an hour. Showed up when we were told to, waited over an hour, told that we were next, then dr called 4 people in before us. I finally asked what the wait was, she said she would go ask, then she just sat down at the desk and never asked, after 10 minutes we left, and as we walked out the girl at the desk said bye guys like it was funny. What is the point of calling and waiting on hold 20 minutes to make an appointment to just get ignored and never seen.
I had an eye exam at this location today and it was a great experience! Everyone there was friendly and very helpful. The optometrist was very thorough in the exam and he took the time to explain facts about diabetes and eyesight, which was very helpful since I am a diabetic. Each step of both the pre-test and the exam was explained before it was done. I had great help in selecting my frames and although options were presented as being available, there was not any type of pushy upsell, which I appreciated very much as I am on a fixed income. I have already referred three people to this location!
So I read the reviews before I visited this place and was so reluctant before going due to them. Well, my son and I decided to see for ourselves and keep our appointments. The wait was as excpected for being in a mall, but the people there were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. One young lady even called around to compare prices for my contacts as they had to be a special order. Once she found a better price she informed me which made me feel like they werent just trying to get my money. The doctor has a great sense of humor but yet a great level of professionalism and knowledge also. Ive had a spot in my eye for many years and he was able to inform me what it was medically. I even brought up the 3 bad reviews that they have here and they are aware of them and stated that one had been fabricated which made sense based on my experience. Dont get me wrong, this place could use a slight makeover but its no where near the nightmare that I read on other reviews. My best advice would be to go find out for yourself and yes Im real and wasnt paid so say these things. Lol. I just didnt feel it was fair to have such bad reviews about a place that didnt reflect such an image from my experience. Keep up the good work guys!!
Worst possible place to order/get glasses from. Ordered my glasses almost 2 months ago and I’m STILL waiting for them. Every time i call to see if they have come in either no one answers or i get hung up on. I will not be coming back to this place.
The best part of this place is Pascale! She takes her time with you and helps you without feeling rushed. She also knows her stuff! I only like to work with her!

The worst place ever!! Do not go here!! I came as a walk-in and was told I could be seen, I was aware I had a wait but would be squeezed in. I had a patient who came in after me and stated out loud she didnt have an appointment. This patient was taken before my two kids. Apparently the rude staff at this unprofessional place picks and chooses who they want to put in the schedule first. I spoke to the office manager who after I waited for three hours told me I had 3-4 patients in front of me still. These people have a total disregard for working peoples valuable time. I finally walked out and will never go here again or refer any of my friends and family.
I was in the sanford location recently with my son for his appointment. From the moment we walked in we were politely greeted. Everything from the pre test, picking out my sons new glasses, and to seeing the doctor went very fast and smoothly. I recommend this location! The staff were all awesome, and we will definitely be back!
I feel all kinds of different ways after visiting optical outlets in Sanford mall. Something i can especially recommend is for no one to bring any children here. I hate thinking off a couple days back when i was in there with my son. I feel so sad that i did not speak up or tell this lady anything that was checking his eyes. She was just in such a bad mood, at least thats what it seemed. I wish i had said something looking back, but i am sort of glad i didnt because it probably wouldve been a big scene that i would not want to do in front of my child. Everything got progressively worse. The only professional there was 1 guy that would do an initial eye check, he was nice, and efficient. Beyond that, it was hitting my nerves the way this supposed doctor would roll her eyes or tell my kid to LOOK AGAIN, THATS NOT IT, YOU DONT HAVE TO BE SOO CLOSE and soo on with an attitude.. I dont care if youre a morning person or not, you should be kind and hospitable when you work with people! Ugh! I can honestly say i will never go back over there... ever.
Horrible place, I am picking up my glasses and contacts today over $500 plus Insurance VSP and they still took sweet time.. I called after waiting on them over a month and I was told they had been there for over 2 weeks and the staff never got to call me... I guess they had the money ... hell with me.... the only good thing about that place is the optometrist... the whole staff needs to be promoted to the unemployment dept ... never again....

Optometrist did not have me the time of day to examen my sun completely. On top of that the quality of the frames is a disgraced. Is beyond poor quality. This company takes their consumers as ignorant and naive. I advice any one that is reading this to go to Walmart where they actually have a better selection and quality lenses for less of the cost.
If you have vision insurance, stay away from this place. First, exam was rushed and I do not feel confident prescription is correct. Secondly, if you use contacts... dont buy them here. They charge the same price for one box that you can buy 3 boxes for online for THE SAME EXACT CONTACTS. Will be reporting them to VSP after this.Also, went to Visionworks in the same mall for a 2nd opinion. I was right, the one optical outlets gave me wasnt correct. So stay away from Optical Outlets and go to Visionworks instead!
After coming in 2 separate times and calling 4x, my son has been without glasses almost 2 weeks now. They said come in tomorow and we can squeeze you in, then when we show up they claim the dr has the flu ... Ill never do business with this company because they showed no compassion for our emergency situation. They kept saying they were too busy to accept him as a walk in every time we had called. Ridiculous and unprofessional way to run a business.

Like many of the other reviews this place is a dump. Let me start from the very beginning. I had put in THREE online requests for appointments. And not ONCE did they answer. Guess I shouldnt of told them what insurance I had because the same day my friend put in an online request and got a call back the same day - which places cant judge based on insurance that is illegal. I called after my third online attempt and was told the next available appointment was May 16th when I called April 20th... instead of scheduling and waiting I went in as a walk in. Office staff was VERY rude about me being a walk in. They made me wait forever to be seen. & the best part???? THERE was NO ONE ELSE BEING SEEN. the staff was just sitting there doing whatever on her cellphone. Blonde skinny one with glasses as the other two were busy why they couldnt see me when they werent seeing anyone else is beyond me. This place is a JOKE. do not come here. Do not waste your time and patience and money. :)

After a night in the hospital and many tests including an MRI she finds out the eye dr didnt see what she said she did. I believe it was all so that the appointment would be covered by insurance. Because in beginning she was told if they found a medical problem it would be coveredInsurance scam?? Sounds fishy to me!
I am with the person above, this place is in dire need of management altogether. I learned more about the 4 people that were working there and there life stories than I ever wanted to; one person was listening to Metallica, very professional. Carpets are still unraveling and the floor boards at this point were filthy which made me laugh since the 4 associates working there were huddling in the office chatting instead of maintaining the office. Glasses were left on counters. Disgusting place.

It was a mess. My daughter has been wearing glasses for 1 year & 1/2 every day. I know when my child reads at home she can be very hesitant so when she was asked to read letters and hesitated he assumed she couldnt see and cut her off. Then after all he INSISTED that she hasnt been wearing everyday and she could be taking them off when we arent around (which we are always around ) . Really upset that he was trying to suggest Im not paying attention to my child or that shes lying about wearing them. This is the second time Ive been here and Ive had a bad experience both times.

Ok, so I had not read the reviews but I have to agree. Get it together. Management failure.I have gone there for the lst two years, great doctor but up front, dont wait for good service.I have had contact ordered, paid for them, they were supposed to contact me when they were in, nothing. I have waited on the phone after contacting them for over 40 minutes. Timed them. I have Tricare, I have one routine check up every two years, they wont see me because they say I need a referal. Only if eithin the two years! Wife went to have a Routine eye exam same thing. I explain to the receptionist that its every two years and still did not get the appointment. Asked her to check with the insurnce and told me that they had a department that took care of that. Asked her toncheck with them and no reply from them.I give up! Vision Care or anywhere else does not have these issues.Let us know when you get it together.CMH
When you call, you are connected to a corporate line rather than the actual store. Dont waste your time going here. The place is in dire need of care. Carpet is unraveling and floor boards are splintering. The seats have stains and crust on them. It is generally dirty. Ive never been one to judge a book by its cover though, so I kept the appointment that I made over the phone. The Dr. went about her business and that part seemed fine. They didnt have the contacts I usually wear to try them out so they sent me off with a trial of Ciba-vision contacts and told me that lots of people find them uncomfortable, but if I dont then I could save some money and if I do then they would just order my Acuvue contacts instead. Well, they were very uncomfortable so I called to tell them to go ahead and order my Acuvue contacts and to verify my benefit vs out of pocket costs. The lady on the phone seemed rather bothered that I wanted to know how much my contacts were going to cost and put me on hold for several minutes while she figured it out. She got back to me, told me how much out of pocket I would have to pay and I confirmed what type and how many contacts I would be getting. Great. So....a couple hours later, I get a voicemail that my contacts are in. I called back right away, the national number answers, I tell them the issue, they transfer me, I tell the lady at the store (the same one I talked to earlier) the same thing I told the person on the national line. She completely disregarded what I had just told her, and the conversation we had earlier and said I can pick them up anytime. I told her again that the Cibas were not working and that I wanted the Acuvues that Ive been in for years. The lady on the phone tells me they have to see them on me before they can order them. I asked why they didnt mention that while I was actually in the store and said it would have changed things quite a bit had I known. She asked if I had a pair with me when I visited to which I responded that I did. She said oh well sorry and left it at that. Im so frustrated that I have to drag my new baby out of the house an extra trip and not have contacts on my vacation because these buffoons cant just inform their customers correctly.
