Today was my first visit to San Mateo Lumber. I needed some mahogany for an upgrade on my boat. They had exactly what I needed and did the cuts I needed as well for a great price and the service was excellent. I willBe going there for my future lumber needs.

Went by san mateo lumber yesterday for some molding pieces and the service was excellent. The chap at the counter was quite helpful and made my trip worthwhile.

They dont seem to have any interest in actually serving their customers. A customer waiting at the counter seems to be at the bottom of their priority list.

This was the first time Ive been to a new lumber yard where the people who I encountered were kind, helpful, knowledgable, and got us on our way quickly. I was blown away by the inventory of hardwood, redwood, AND tools all in one spot!Im really happy I found a place near where I live to regularly to get reasonably priced hardwood, redwood, and plywood!

Very helpful, knowledgeable staff. These guys clearly do a lot of wood working in their spare time. They know their stuff.Prices we much more comparable to HD than Id expected.

Great service from the non-flattering but very kind staff and great price.

Wanted to support local biz, but I was not happy with my experience here. Guy in the store area was busy, nobody in the lumber area, even after a few minutes, lumber had to be cut so I couldnt just take it to the front to pay. Went instead to the dreaded HD, found what I needed, got going. Maybe if youre a contractor or other pro, this will work, but for just a normal dude, having to track somebody down to cut wood and let you pay was not worth it. Again, I dislike HD, Costco, etc. so bummer that this didnt work out.
