Santo, the manager, has such a warm disposition. It is why I go to the story. Last month I bought 150 samosas for my daughters high school. Santo stayed on top of everything and gave me clear times and rules. Really appreciated the professionalism!
Great collection of Indian Grocery items that are not available elsewhere. The most organized Indian Store I have seen. The store manager is very helpful and great to speak to.
Much better than Namaste Plaza nice grocery store.
I prefer going to this store for my groceries. His produce is always on the fresh side. The snacks are from local vendors further supporting other local businesses in the area. The owner and staff are courteous and receptive of the needs of their clients. The owner makes it a point to listen and actively sources certain products, brands and items he usually does not keep to fullfil his client’s requests. I find staff from other Indian stores to be cocky and rude and I usually avoid them, but my experience has been the complete opposite and find myself coming back there to buy my groceries.
Nice and clean place, they have fresh groceries and always stocked up on everything you need. The person behind the register is always kind, friendly and helpful. Great service overall!!
Such a great store, with great selection and organic options for pretty much everything. Staff is extremely helpful, thoughtful and kind. I visited this store for the first time and picked the wrong rice by accident. The store manager was so kind to honor and let me bring back and swap out the kind I originally intended to pick saying “we take care of our customers”. It was absolutely great customer service experience that I had. They also gave me info about delivery as I drove from an hour and a half away. Will definitely re-visit and make this my store for future purchases. 👏👏👏🙏🌷✨
Well stocked with all Indian groceries. Tidy and nice place. Price is also fine.
One of the best Indian grocery store I have been in the entire Bay Area . Very good service and amazing helpful staff. I stopped going to india cash and carry just because they give amazing service. I haven in Sunnyvale Fremont san Ramon and in Santa Clara but these guys are the best. They have everything I need and when I don’t find anything they make sure they order for me next time
Santosh, who is the owner/ manager, remembers what products I like, even though I only come once monthly when I work in San Mateo .The dude must have interned at Fairway NYC bc he’s got just about every product an Indian grocery store should have, but packed into a small space. The vibe is very friendly and the store is always clean, airy and well-maintained. Love this place
Good place to buy Indian grocery. Only issue is parking.
Good stop for all Indian groceries and common fresh veggies. If you have a favorite brand for an item that you can’t find, talk to the store manager and they might be able to stock on them.
Nice collection of Indian grocery and at better rates than nearby stores.
Indian grocery store with ok to good selection. Prices are 10% - 25% higher as compared other Indian grocery store. E.g. Foster city Indian cash n carry.
Good staff,Prices r fair.clean n tidy
Prices are not labeled on most items. Watch out for expired items.
Good place to get Indian, Pakistani, Fiji groceries. You can give them your phone number and become a member for free. This gets you 5% cash back. A point for every dollar spent and $5 credit once you have 100 points. Not a bad deal.
Great little S Asian / Indian market. Very clean & organized with assorted produce you want to buy. I have finally given up on Namaste in Belmont for this gem. Bonus, the Aladdin Middle East market is right next door, great halal meat, dry goods & deli. Why India Grocery is not in any Yelp listing for Indian markets is beyond me.
Good selection of Indian grocery items at a reasonable price.
I found awesome samosas here.
Small but perfect inventory and good host! Has become our go-to place every need.
All your spices and Indian pantry items in one place 😸👍🏻😉
Better organized than most Indian grocery stores. They keep a bunch of birth Indian products that are harder to find on the peninsula. Veggies are a bit/miss .. but often find good, fresh produce. Their frozen section gets messy; wish theyd keep that better organized. I saw a bunch of reviews cribbing about the staff but Ive always found them helpful and cordial.
Great store. Decent variety. Usually there are lots of people there so I know the quality is good.
Good Indian store in the neighborhood
Great place to buy spices! Fantastic selection and helpful sales people...store is clean and well organized.
Great assortment of Indian groceries and friendly customer service. Ask for specific products and they are more than happy to procure it for you.
I like going to this market as it is clean, organized, good produce reasonably priced, and they have COCONUTS - That they crack open for you. Well, they did anyway. I was VERY disappointed to go to the counter last week, ask the guy for a coconut, and then be told No, I wont open it. I guess he only opens them when the boss/es are there/or his dad/uncle etc. He was very rude, blunt, and uncooperative. You would think they would want to give a good customer experience, seeing as they just expanded.
Bad experience. The new guy in the store is very rude. Costly compared to rest of the store but since some people have no choice but to buy from this shop. Rotten vegetables and fruits. Expired products. And the PRICING OF THE PRODUCTS ARE DONE ACCORDING TO THEIR MOOD. Please I request the owner to change please. Thank you and no hard feelings please.
I live near by and this is the CLEANEST and the most ORGANIZED Indian store I have ever seen. The employees are super friendly and they are willing to help you out if you cant find an item. Definitely shopping here again! Also, the samosas and puffs are really delicious as well!!!
Worst place. Expired products. Rotten vegetables and fruits especially coconut. Please dont go there. People dont have other option than going to this indian store. And the new guy here (saw him from 2-3weeks) working here is very rude. Bought mustard oil and the price on shelf was 4.99 dollars he printed 6.99 dollars. Very bad. The uncle here was good. Very bad customer service.
Has a decent collection. Better than a lot in the peninsula.
Neat selection of almost all the basic items but sometimes the items are misplaced by the customers and not organized by the staff regularly. But theyre always helpful when you ask for directions. The freshly made snack section gets empty soon before evening. Wouldnt recommend the veg puff pastries as they had sweet corn in them for some reason.
I love this place for my monthly groceries. The staff is super nice and devoted. Clean and nice place that offers great shopping experience. Not seen any Indian store as nice as this one. Parking slot availability is a major plus. I would highly recommend it.
We were looking for some specific Indian spices to make a tiki masala and we found them here. We also found white rice flour which we have been unable to find in other places which wanted to use to try to make gluten-free pastry. If you like Indian food they seem to have a lot of pre-packaged prepared foods that could be purchased and heated in the microwave
Good stor
I have often found expired products in the shop. Bread had fungus and it was kept on top of pile for selling. Dont buy undated items from here.
They price according to their mood.. the new guy in the store is very rude. Vegetables were rotten. And is costly compared to other stores. Since this is only shop in san mateo we Indians go there.. else nobody would have visited this place.
Rotten veggies and fruits. The new guy in the store is rude.bPricing is done according to the mood. Way too costly compared to other stores. But some of us have no other option but buy indian stuffs from this store. Bad experience.
Clean store. Easily accessible stuff.
Expanded store now good selection
I don’t like this store because they don’t label any item with price. You cannot ask to the cashier price for any item you are buying often. They keep giving excuse of expanding the store so that’s why they have not labeled any item with price. The same excuse was given two months before also. When there is no price written they can charge anything to their convenience.
The store is well organized. Its easy to find items you are looking for. Accepts credit cards for small transactions.
Decent store to buy the necessities. Parking is bad, Id to circle the block twice. Bought red label tea large size at a reasonable price
Its pretty much same as other Indian grocery stores in the area like India cash and carry Foster City, and Namaste Plaza Belmont, but smaller. Street parking in front of the store and there is some extra parking available by the gas station next door.
Mostly has a decent selection of Indian groceries that you need - lentils, beans, spices, snacks, ata, rice, frozen rotis, etc. The service was also good and people were friendly.
Excellent place for Indian grocery, spice, snacks, etc.. Love it! They also have pretty tasty freshly prepared warm Samosas, chicken puffs and egg puffs!
Clean store with very fair prices. I got 100g of cardamom pods for about $3.50. In comparison, 26g of the same product sold for about $9 (discounted price) at safeway.
Very neat and Clean place to shop Indian grocery !! A lot better than the foster city indian grocery store. Fair Price 👍
Bad parking situation. If you lucky you get a spot else you have to park in residential neighborhood. Fridge items are not organized well and hard to find.
Not a PATEL store, but serves the purpose of Indian grocery. Has the essential rotis, frozen veggies and Indian biscuits.
Good options
Small, clean and tidy Indian store. They really care for customers and keep improving their store experience!
Very clean and well maintained. Much better than competitors in the area
Very clean grocery store with everything you need. The complimentary tea is definitely worth tasting
Very clean as compared to other Indian stores. Keep it up!
Wow, went in here for the first time and was impressed at how clean and well organized it is.
Little India convenient store
I tried to buy curry leaves they said min charge is 1dollar, I tried to look for something else.I couldnt decide,I left empty handed. Ill try next time or a different store.. I dont carry cash.
Although small but fulfilling Indian store on the very Main Street. Parking can be a trouble.
Very clean, good quality stuff and very helpful owners.
Convenient, clean and good customer service. They had exactly what I needed, saved the day!
Clean grocery store and friendly staff. Being new to the neighborhood, theyre also open to suggestions for things to carry. Im thankful they are here.
Newly opened shop, so yet to full the inventory with all indian spices ;
Nice and clean store, they may not have everything that you are looking for
Nice place.. veggies were stale when I went there.. but I got all the stuff that I needed
Nice one for indian grocessires.
Good collection of Indian spices and ready to eat items.
Really good place and an alternate to Namaste Plaza.
Great variety! Nice service.
Nice place to buy Indian grocery and readymade food
Great selection. Poor parking
Good service and price
Items are neatly arranged with decent pricing.
New and small shop with basic Indian groceries options. Parking is a pain.
Well stocked with variety in each category.
Good place to get Indian masalas....
Little expensive but you will get all indian grocery
Its a better place compared to the Indian cash and carry at Foster City. You can get all items and the owners are corteous.
Good place
Vegetables are not fresh and quiet expensive and small compared to other Indian grocery shop
Very clean and supportive staff 👍
Well Organized and Clean store.
Go here for spoiled yogurt and out of stock items
Everything one can get it here being Indian, however the store is bit small and there is very small car parking area.
Theirs a lot of tasty stuff
Nice samosas
Good stocked store
Decent place.
Rotten vegetables sold most of the time..
Very good store
Great new place
Bought this from India grocery and spice, San Mateo.
Reasonably priced & Clean
Got bulk items for low prices
Pretty decent
Loved this place
