I was quite surprised to find out that there was a HAIR in my drink. Unfortunately I found that out the hard way…Th I spoke to someone on the phone and they were kind, the only thing is that they were flat out rude when I came into the store in person. They did not apologize and seemed to have an attitude even though I was simply coming in to get a drink re-made. I recommend checking your drinks before sipping and having a hair wind up in your mouth
OH MY GOD!!!!I dont ever leave reviews, but oh man this place is wonderful!! I have lived in San Mateo for about 3 years now, and I regret that it took me this long to try it out.I ordered peach yogurt smoothie and it has been one of the best drinks I have ever had. My husband had Oreo milk tea with puff and it tasted perfect!!I would recommend this place!! Definitely try!!I cant wait to go back to try everything in their menu!!
Food was just ok, service was quick and nice. I basically got a scoop of generic mango ice cream, some fresh mangoes and some not too ripe strawberries on top of some condensed milk ice that was a bit too sweet and that i couldn’t finish because of the sweetness level. Overall may try other things but would pass on what I got
Staff were so nice! drinks were tasty though i do wish they had a few more options. i really liked the fried mochi!
I was going to give 3 stars because the Oreo smoothie was watery but then the rest, including the mochi waffle with ice cream that I didn’t remember to get a picture of before the ravening hordes mauled it were quite good. Plus it’s such a nice change of pace. Expensive for what you’re getting but service was prompt and our special orders correctly filled.
I’m a big fan of their “cheese foam” series. The Premium Cheese Oolong is my go-to. I love that I can customize it with no added sweetener/sugar; I like my tea unsweetened. That cheesy foamy goodness is all the sweetness this drink needs in my book. Their Thai Tea is also delicious and one of the only tea places that will let you customize the sweetness for that drink too! The staff is always super nice and helpful. There are many tea options in downtown San Mateo, but this is my current favorite!
Great place in downtown San Mateo with a lot of options for both desserts and drinks, we ordered French creme brulee and an icecream with mango, momoka rolls and strawberry. It tasted pretty amazing. It’s a great alternative to the usual icecream fare(Baskin Robbins is right next to it). The people serving were very polite and the place was clean and well-maintained as well.I’ll definitely visit again soon. Thank you!
Had high expectations because of the great reviews but our mango momoko came with no mango..?! All we got were mango puree, taro balls and ice cream but no mango bits. Not sure if this was a sincere mistake or what, but given that this isnt a complex dessert with only 4 ingredients, it isnt really an acceptable miss. Also came in a smaller than expected cup so overall just really disappointing. :(
What is given to customers is not even close to what is shown in the menu for these overpriced so called ‘desserts’. Even today, when additional measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus, it is still possible to make food look attractive. It was just a waffle thrown into a paper bag and 2 balls of ice cream in a plastic cup for $12.00
Good service, better food. especially like mango sago.
Best Taiwanese salt and pepper popcorn chicken (盐酥鸡) in San Mateo. Well seasoned, not greasy and good portion for only $6.95. Better than Shilin’s.
Tried the Genmiacha green tea with boba and dont have any complaints. Would recommend just scanning the barcode and ordering through your phone, the line is kind of slow.
There were multiple hair pieces in my fruit snow cup! Absolutely disgusting and never going back. Please be careful of the food.
Delicious drinks and snacks. Definitely my go to for boba when Im in downtown San mateo.
Their popcorn chicken is good, juicy and flavorful!
The mochi waffles are great!
I had this place saved in my collections and finally got to try it out. It is really bright and pretty big inside. They have a cute wall with fake grass too to take pictures with. The place is big, but most of it is taken up by the register/kitchen. The fruit is displayed next to the register and they also cut it in front of you. The fruit looked really fresh!!We ordered the snowflake cup with mixed fruit. It came out in like 5 minutes, so they were really fast! So much faster than Meet Fresh. I really liked that the fruit was fresh. The dessert looked a little small, but was actually was perfect to split between 2 people. The shaved ice was perfectly sweet too.I would definitely come back again and try their other desserts. They have a lot of more traditional asian desserts, like sesame and mochi, that I would want to try also. The waffle and egg puffs also looked good!
I ordered the Snowflake with boba, vanilla ice cream and strawberry. And let me just be brief this was perfect. I love shaved ice with condensed milk and the topping on top! It just screams deliciousness! And it’s a reasonable price under 10$. Don’t forget to mix if you like your boba to soak up the flavor.
The Mango sago And mango momoko with ice cream were delicious and refreshing
DTSMs newest Asian dessert spot -- at least until Meet Fresh opens down the street. Yummy selection of shaved snow (called creamy snowflake), boba, mochi, + other specialty desserts. We ordered a Mango Momoko with Mango ice cream ($6.45) + a custom Creamy Snowflake with Strawberry, Sago + Matcha ice cream ($8.25). Both were great! Definitely on the sweeter side but refreshing for a sunny summer day.The line was literally 30 mins of waiting just to order with only like 8 people ahead of us. Our orders came quickly soon after though. Once they can speed up the ordering process there, I can imagine theyll be quite popular once more people discover them. Ill likely be back.
Their deserts are over priced and portions are very big. I ordered grass jelly signature desert and it was okaish. It looked pretty as you can see in the picture but pic does not make justice to the actual taste and texture of this desert. The one in the pic costed me 11$ which is insanely priced especially for what they give you.
Great place for some milk tea and boba drinks
Never had this & so glad I tried it. Something different & new. GREAT
Got popcorn chicken, grape fruit tea and boba milk tea. The teas were expensive and they tasted horrible. The grape fruit tasted like warm syrup . The boba tasted like plastic and even though it wasn’t sweetened it was filled with sugar. The fruit in the tea was the worst part, it tasted stale and I was shocked as my mouth taste buds were freaking out! The popcorn chicken was mild but it was spicy, it’s mainly the popcorn and not chicken. And boba milk tea was out of this world. Like if you got one, pick it up and throw it out of this world immediately. I’m sorry for being harsh on the business, I really am sorry. But honestly what did you make me drink!!!
Great boba, friendly clerks, awesome snacks! What more do you need?
Great place for boba drink.
Amazing Calamari!! Very spicy but so tender and amazing.
Their shaved ice with ice cream reminds me of my childhood
Just came here for their soft opening. It was very, very hot inside. Unfortunately, the A/C was broken according to the staff. :(I ordered Snowflake Cup with Mango and Watermelon Smoothie. The smoothie took about 10 minutes to come out. It was more watery than a smoothie texture. However, it was very refreshing! (Maybe because it felt like a sauna inside.)The Snowflake Cup with Mango tasted very good! The mango was ripe! The shaved flakes were very delicious since it was mixed with condensed milk very nicely. However it took over 15 minutes to come out!!(Also while ordering the Snowflake Cup, they told me they wont be able to make the big bowl which wasnt what I wanted in the beginning anyways. However, they were making fruit bowls for other customers). Skeptical.I would definitely give this place another try when everything is more organized.
My daughters loves the unicorn ice cream
Very good service and lots of savory and yummy sweets to choose from
Have only been here once and got the sesame dumpling in sesame paste. If you like sesame, this is a good dessert to get. The soup is a bit on the thicker gloopy side. Service was nice. I’m interested in coming back to try other desserts in the future.
Friendly staff and great dessert during covid. makes me happy during covid :)
Good dessert options, boba, ice cream, shaved ice. In the midst of covid, outdoor seating is available and you can order then sit on the tables set up on the street. Standard options and prices overall!
Perhaps best dessert spot in San Mateo? Unique dishes. Get the donut waffle and the home made shave ice
FOOD is great, Dont get the drinks!
Pretty good Chinese desserts, and they have cheese foam tea as well. I was quite happy with our mango sago as well as the black sesame soup, neither of which were oversweetened. A bit on the pricey side, but I guess thats San Mateo for you.
Deep fried mochi balls and their fresh fruit teas are👍👍👍
SWEET MOMENT? More like SWEET WEEK. Every time I go here I feel better. I always order the same thing, the mango peach boba tea and the staff always remembers me and treats me as a part of their gang. Boba Gang Gang. I love the place, the food/drinks and the customer service. I would highly recommend this place and whoever the owner is open up more stores because you do this at another level. Thank you.
I came here last week. I noticed an employee was not wearing their mask properly. It was tucked under their chin. I wouldn’t order from this boba shop in the future
Best taro ice cream Ive ever had!Really good matcha ice cream and egg puffs too!
Best desserts ever. Omg
Their mochi pancake is awesome. Their boba is also really good.
Great service and if I could give 10 stars to the watermelon smoothie, I would!
The mango saga was really delicious
Brand new to San Mateo, offers a wide selection of creative asian desserts. Mango pancakes taste so fresh (mainly because there is literally one or two workers chopping fresh mangoes throughout the day). Looks like the make thier own mochi too! There are a bunch of items on the menu you should try!
Owner is a very sweet and genuine guy, I really enjoyed the royal lychee that he recommended.
They make their own herbal grass jelly! Its so much better than what comes out of a can. Great dessert shop. They have handmade momo (mochi), hot black sesame, and red bean soup. The fried mochi balls are so good and waffles too
Fresh ingredients and not too sweet. I prefer this place over Sul & and Beans.
Amazing mochi balls
Great snowflake (snow ice) with perfect textures, so-so mochi waffle
Desserts were too sweet, but the atmosphere was cool
They really have some incredible unique desserts!
The food is delicious, and the attendants are very kind and patient.
Food is ok. Drinks not so much
It was a sweet moment!
Cheese tea is surprisingly delicious
Nice
