The guys over at Caledonian are awsome. If you have a diesel this is the place for you, they know these engines like the back of there hand and will answer any questions you have. They always try and get you in and out as fast as they can and have some of the best prices for the quality of work.

This repair facility is run by the best crew and the repairs are completed at a reasonable price.

Brought it in to replace the CO2 detector. They ended up breaking another part of the engine, doubling the cost of the repairs. I opted to take my car home rather than pay for something they broke. Now my car is worse off than it was when I brought it to them.

Caledonian Auto is the best shop Ive found in San Marcos. Terry (the owner) is personable, explains things clearly, informs you of upcoming services, and is in general a great guy that runs a great business. The prices are always very competitive and the job is always done right and complete. I have been taking an Audi A4 and a Honda Odyssey to him for years. Before that, he was taking care of a BMW x5 as well. If youre looking for a shop to look after your vehicle, Id give Terry a call. Honestly, I cant say enough about how he and his team have looked after our vehicles over the years. Ive never had a bad deal and never an unmet expectation with Caledonian.

Called Caledonian Auto Repair this morning in a panic because my car wasnt starting in the CSUSM parking lot, I got it towed there and Terry fixed up my car while I went to class. He even picked me up from campus and brought me back to the shop! He was quick, fairly priced, and so friendly! Highly recommend!

Excellent with 100 stars!!!!My family has used Terry and his services for nearly 30 years. My mother would only take her car to Terry for 15 years and when he went to San Marcos we continued to use him. I have lived in Tahoe, The desert, So Cal, Central Coast and I ALWAYS make it a point to take my vehicle to Terry in San Marcos. NO ONE touches my auto but Terry. Up until recently I had 3 cars, A Mercedes 320E, A BMW M Roadster and a Toyota 4 runner 4wd. I now only have my Toyota, but again, I only allow Terry to work on my car. He is honest as the day is long. If he says my car needs something you can take it to the bank!!! I made the mistake of taking my car to a dealer up North about 5 years ago due to my distance from Terry and they tried to have me do work that was not needed. I chose to have the car towed to Terry in San Marcos. OF course, I found out it was a up sell job from the dealer up North so that just reinforced my using Terrys services!!! Hard to find a good, Honest mechanic but when you find them you try not to loose them. If you have been told that something is needed then I advise you to have Terry look at your vehicle just to get a 2nd opinion!!! I hope this helps you folks out there!! I met Terry in 2000 while inquiring about an unusual engine repair. Other mechanics wanted me to disassemble the top of the engine (a broken bolt in the head while changing the thermostat) Terry took a look at it and said it wasnt necessary to pull the head of the engine. I left it with him and about 45 minutes he called and said it was ready. $45, period the end which included a new thermostat. This all happened on December 24th (seriously, a Christmas miracle). I and my family have been going back since. Always honest, trustworthy, and great at explaining what is or is NOT wrong. As a former aircraft mechanic and a do-it-yourselfer (when possible) I wouldnt trust anyone else to do the work, nuff said.

Terry is very honest and runs a competent shop. Had my AC condenser replaced for about a third of what the dealership wanted for an Acura RDX. Ill be going back for every car repair I have and hope this review helps others.
