This location offers Great customer service, quick service and a great family oriented friendly staff. Came in to have my ac serviced and told me my highline was leaking, came in the following Monday and they had me on the road quick with the ac blowing cooler than before. Highly recommended will be back soon for my other vehicle repair.

Restoring 66 mustang. Had transmission rebuilt 2 1/2 yrs ago. Transmission stopped shifting 2nd to 3rd. Still under warranty took to shop to have it checked out. Mechanic was explaining it wasnt the transmission it was a vacuum leak which caused the transmission not shift properly. He was very helpful. The manager came over and that the problem was not transmission and told the mechanic to wasting time visiting and me to leave and get my car out of his garage. Maybe he was having a bad day but you dont talk to your customers that way.this happened today 06/07/2021. Good luck on trying to get me to go back to that shop ever again.

Ive been coming to this particular AAMCO for 5 years. This is the only place I will go to service my car. In 2017, my 2000 Mazda B4000 pick-up with bad compression, thinking that the truck was in its last days, these guys fixed it right up and I havent had an issue since. Other repair shops were charging CRAZY prices, one even said dont bother fixing it, your truck is not worth the amount it would take to fix it. Luckly, I found AAMCO on San Marcos Dr. and my truck has been running smooth ever since. I bring all my cars here. I highly recommend.

Loved the service. They were able to help with a tow to their shop. They found the problem and it wasnt the transmission! Yaa! Cant express how much I like and appreciated this shop. They got my sons car in quickly, found two issues, and had it finished by the next day. I didnt like the 3.5% to use a credit card for payment, but I kind of understand and they do let you know up front.

These guys ROCK!In 2018 my husband and I were on vacation in the mountains when our 2003 F250s transmission started to fail. We brought our troubled beast here and got it rebuilt. This place rents uhaul trucks. Its the same people who run the shop. Please do not do business with this place. I was one of those overall, basically trusting guys who assumes businesses will treat you fairly. I was wrong. I rented a van and had it for only a couple hours. Super easy, moved a couch and a couple boxes. No problems. I turned in the van and boom, damage charged to my credit card. I did absolutely nothing to the van. I went back to clear it up and he said I put a TINY ding on the back door. I couldnt find it! It literally wasnt there. I was floored. This was a complete scam.

Oh man, these guys are great!! I had to go out of town for a family emergency and needed a quick inspection (my family lives in another state) to make sure I was good to go for the drive. Everyone I encountered was friendly, easy going, and made me feel less nervous about my looming drive. Definitely found my new spot and will be coming back for all of my car needs!

Had some of the best service Ive had at a car maintenance shop with Joe and the crew behind the scenes. Went in for a transmission fluid change, they promised me an hour and a half wait time and got it done in an hour. They show that they are there to take care of your business and keep you informed on what you need to know about your vehicle. If you have some vehicle troubles, I recommend giving this location a go.

After getting a high quote from the car dealership to have my rear brake pads replaced, I came here. The quote AAMCO gave me was less than the dealer so I went there. Once they took a look at my car, they realized both the front and back needed to be done and the rotors needed to be replaced.As someone who knows very little about cars, Im always skeptical in these situations. But, the mechanic took me to the car to show me exactly why they needed to be replaced, and he took the time to explain it to me.Everyone in the shop was helpful and friendly. They finished my car in about an hour and a half, and it drives great. I will definitely go back.

Fantastic service from the folks over at AAMCO San Marcos. I brought my 2001 Crown Vic for a checkup after it decided steering was no longer an option. After quickly diagnosing the issues and working out a maintenance plan, Nick and George were kind enough to wait patiently for 2 weeks while I was dealt with some personal issues. When I finally got back in contact with them, they went above and beyond to make sure I knew the full depth of the repairs and the costs which were very reasonable. As if that wasnt enough to make me a returning customer, Nick even made sure that I was able to get the financing I needed for the repair costs. I was back on the road in under a week. Overall, great service and outstanding customer support!

I need to start off by saying that my trip in to AAMCO in San Marcos today was my first. I arrived for my appointment (brake inspection and oil replacement) on time and found a very neat and professional atmosphere. The representative I spoke with was Joe. Immediately he treated me as though I were family to him. He took my vehicle in for the inspection and contacted me shortly after to inform me that I needed more parts. He was very courteous and thorough in his information as to where the costs would be. After agreeing to the service I chatted with him, only to find out that the business here is owned and operated by veterans. This aamco stop has been a great local asset for me! Joe has done work lately on both of my older cars; a Jag X type and an older Mercedes 230SLK. They can handle the somewhat routine stuff like fluid changes, but even the more exotic repairs that a Dealer would overcharge for. I am glad they are in the San Marcos neighborhood!

Took my Ford Fiesta in with a Transmission Service light. These guys are supposed to be the transmission experts right? They replaced the TCM. I would give them 5 stars except it took multiple tries to get the seals installed correctly so that it doesnt leak. Overall I feel like everyone working there is honest and they want to do the right thing by their customers, but they could improve on attention to detail and keeping up with the time schedule they promise. My car is fixed to my satisfaction it just took longer than I would have liked.

Took truck to facility. Was told problem was in differential and would cost $500 to look at it and it would apply toward repair which would cost no more than $1600 to fix. Based on this, I authorized it. Told after, it would cost more than $2200 to fix. If told this upfront versus the $1600, I would not have paid the $500 for further diagnosis. Picked up vehicle and left with check engine light on; was not on when brought it in. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!I will gladly take a polygraph test to coo borate my statement if Joe the tech willing to do the same and whoever lying pays for the test result. Ready and waiting...

I typically never leave reviews, but have been very impressed with the honesty at AAMCO San Marcos. Nick had given us an estimate to rebuild our transmission which, of course, was going to be costly. Even though we would have moved forward with the work, Nick told us about a recall that was going on with our dealership/manufacturer in which they would potentially fix or replace our transmission for free. Even though our car had over 100k miles on it and wasnt bought through the dealership initially, this turned out to be the case—we got a new transmission for free through the dealership, thanks to Nick. I was really impressed with his honesty despite not getting the work. Thank you!

On Saturday the 21 I took my car in for a oil change and transmission oil change. They ended up doing the oil change but not the transmission oil because they told me my transmission would get worse and no reputable shop would change the oil in my transmission . I was told that the technician(Henry) drove my car and felt that the transmission was slipping from 2nd - 3rd and 3rd-4th and that it would cost $1100 to take out the transmission to open it up and find what the problem was, in addition, to the cost of whatever would need to be replaced. I had not noticed any slippage prior and was just taking it in for maintenance. I declined the repair. I drove it more trying to feel the slippage but felt nothing so I than took it to two different shops who both told me there was no slippage and that my transmission was fine. The customer service rep at the desk Bryan was very polite but I just wanted to write a review for people to be careful here. If I had not known a little bit about cars and had taken it to two other shops to get confirmed I would have been out $1100+. I had one of the other shops change the oil and my car is running as good, if not slightly better from the new oil, than prior and not worse liked I had been told. Kqql

Walked into AAMCO for an oil change and transmission service. I was greeted by Joe. Joe immediately instilled confidence with hispropitality and knowledge. I asked him what this would cost and he explained the three levels of transmission service and the numbers. He could not quote me a level of service until they checked it out but all of the options are very reasonable.After driving the car and checking it out Joe recommended the lower level of service. Nice to know no gouging here.Kool Ill do it and feel comfortable returning in the future.All Good!

I drove around and around looking for anyone to replace my headlight .. no one even tried to order the part for me to replace it ... already in destress I stopped here for one last try before going home in tears ... Joe picked up his phone and called around until he found someone to deliver the light .. he treated me like a person and didn’t excuse me or push me off to the side. He’s funny as all hell !!! All mechanics are crooks, and this service station is no different. I brought my Jeep in for some bad noises. One day, its simply an exhaust leak that needs a weld. The next day its a shield thats shattered and cannot be welded. Well, Jose/Joe must have forgot he told me that and on the third day its now back to being weldable again.Also, I had explained to Joe/Jose that I was looking for work and Joe/Jose became my best friend, telling me how he knows all these people and he could hook me up and even asked me specifically if he could give my number to people.The guy got an unemployed persons hopes up so he could turn the screw a little harder on the repair job. Let the buyer beware and please do your due diligence before bringing your car here.

Brian and Joe were extremely helpful. They make you feel so welcome, the service itself is extremely quick and the prices you really can’t beat. I was quoted by carmax they were gunna need $60 just to asses what I needed not including labor or the part itself. It was just a tail light for my Fiat. The next call was to aamco from googles suggestion and they had the price for the actual labor and part with no assessment fee. It was a great experience and i highly recommend :)

Aamco transmissions adverises that you can tAke vechicle to any aamco when it has been replaced by them should you still have issues. I called aamco in San Marcos and owner said that he will not work for free. He was very rude. This is my 3rd transmission that will need to be repaired. They had to redo the 2nd one and this is the 3rd one by them. Do not take car there I paid 4,500.00 for this transmission

My grandson and I had gone to Oceanside from El Cakon to buy a table off of Craigslist on the way back my truck started to over heat I stop at ammco in San Marcos they got us right in and fixed it in a timely manner. I brought my car in for an oil change at a local mechanic shop in Escondido. They told me I had a long list of repairs to be done and it would cost me about $3k. That’s when I decided to get a second opinion. To my knowledge Aamco was a name just for transmission but I was driving by Aamco in San Marcos and saw their sign saying Total Car Care. I just went in and talked to the owner George, He was very professional and knowledgeable. I decided give Aamco a shot. They did all the repairs and it cost me about 1/3 of the price. I was actually real happy with the work that was done so quickly and in my budget.

I had work done. I was told was needed found out this was not correct. My friend went to this shop with his ranger spent lots of money parts were replaced that did not correct the problem He was notified by the BAR of the state of California he decided not to pursue it. He told me after they got me the same way. CAVEAT EMPTOR buyer beware!!!!
