Pretty good selection for a neighborhood place, but this is more of a convenience/grocery store than a health food store!I have bought some items that were pre-opened twice in the past few months:- a jar of olives that made no click when opening, and wasnt full- a tub of butter, where the plastic seal was missingI hope they fix this soon!

Good neighborhood spot that we pop into 1-2x a week when we need to grab a few things for week night dinners or breakfast on the weekend! Prices are very fair given it’s a small grocery and not a chain, so I’m confused why people that have reviewed in the pst say it’s expensive. Staff is very nice and friendly and always helpful. I like that there is a variety of healthy and maybe not as healthy (good chocolate bar selection and some solid ice cream choices). Also they have a solid wine selection with a variety of price points.

One of the bigger The Nature Stop had some great vegan options in the deli. Whole family eats here and very happy with the diversity of foods.

Ive been coming here for 20 years. Its one of the best places in the area for healthy food. As a vegan, I come here regularly when in North Beach because I can get better foods than the local restaurants often, especially for breakfast. You can get things here and have a picnic in the Washington Square Park nearby.Unfortunately the quality is not always amazing (they have a lot of mainstream products full of chemicals / high fructose corn syrup, etc) but if you are careful, one can find good organic, vegan and sustainable versions of almost anything here.Too bad they shut down the sandwich and smoothie bar, that was awesome. Now just wasted space. Its a really difficult business to be in and I cant imagine how high their rent must be. Prices may seem a little high, but are very reasonable considering. Give this place your business please and help keep one of the few independent health food store alive.

UPDATE 1/24/21: the new owners of this store have managed to maintain the previous owners’ high bar for natural produce, but now with an expanded and more appealing offering of other items. This is a great neighborhood gem. We try to stop in each week to support them and always get a friendly greeting and all the vittles we need. A+ grade for the owner and his staff!——Convenient and a very good selection of organic and regular groceries. Don’t know why people are rapping on bad produce: in seven years of stopping by here, we find great quality and after bring them home, the fruit/veggies last longer and are higher quality than anything we buy from supermarkets or natural stores. Lastly, the team that works there is very pleasant and helpful. Great neighborhood business to use and support.

Love this store. Produce is 100 times fresher and more selected than what you get a Safeway or Whole Foods (1000 times better than Trader Joe’s). Great selection and love saver when running out of groceries mid week. Family runs and great neighbohood store.

An amazing local grocer with lots of local and organic options. Great selection of very high end products and meats. The best chicken breast Ive ever had. And the shop owners know there stuff! Been here in North Beach for 30 years.

Small well curated organic/ natural grocery store. Lots of great cheese and a huge organic/ Natural/ biodynamic wine selection. Owner is very knowledgeable about the wines he stocks. They also stock my favorite ZEROINCONDOTTA BARBERA wine. Great place.

Overpriced, the vegan trash food selection is poor. The few tofu sausages are in the same fridge as the actual flesh and blood meat, fake mushroom jerky is somewhere in between beef jerky and bacon. Only a couple of varieties of dairy-free ice cream and no dairy-free pizzas at all. If you see a neat hand-written discount badge on an item, check its expiration date, you may be unpleasantly surprised.

Good selection overall, only some of the stuff is actually organic. however many things past due date, fruit at the entrance mostly unusable and way too expensive ... so watch out!

I come here to get all my organic stuffs. Occassionally, I get my coffee here.

A great choice.
