How could I not have heard about this place before? And even more astounding, how has this escaped discovery by my wife, an avowed chocoholic? Shed probably still be in there, if I hadnt told her it was time to go (I did have to buy her $40 worth of chocolate to sweeten the deal, even tho it was my birthday). If you want to browse and buy chocolate from sources all around the world, and have a great conversation with the owner about all things chocolate, (and cyanotypes, and The Bronx, etc.), this is the place.

What an amazing place!This is not for the faint of the wallet, though.It is tiny but beautiful and it has nothing but the worlds best chocolates. Prices range from 10 to 20 dollars a bar, which is quite a high bar (no pun intended), but if you know your chocolates, this place will how you away.I was also surprised how captivating the owners stories were once I started talking to him. So ask him a question and enjoy the chat!

The largest collection of bean-to-bar chocolate I’ve ever seen! The organization doesn’t seem to have much rhyme or reason, but there’s some good stuff here! They also were very generous with the samples, which helped us narrow down some of our choices and pick some really great bars.

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. They constantly refill, ensuring that the things you receive are always fresh.

This tiny little spot is a great place to get some wild, weird, or interesting chocolate. And when youre ready to transport, the walls are covered in tins sporting images of famous SF landmarks, signs, and locations.

I Bought all kinds of Mexican candy in bulk for a great price. They have the best/lowest prices around. Its a one stop shop pretty much. They sell decorations too. I Highly recommend this place. I also like that they have their own parking lot.

A very helpful person runs this place which has hundreds of high quality chocolates and chocolate bars and some cocoa. They dont sell much that isnt chocolate except for some cards and boxes to put chocolates in. This is a great place if you love chocolate or know someone who does, but its also a great place to get gifts for people you dont know well, like your new lovers parents or the nurse who took care of you when you were in hospital.

You have got to go to Chocolate Covered, best and most refine place in San Francisco for truffles and sweet. I love chocolates, I never was a fan of truffles until I visited this place. I found this place because I was trying to track down where I could buy a specific chocolate bar. To my dismay, I arrived and was told they dont carry the chocolate I was looking for anymore. However, for such a small store they have such an incredible variety of chocolate. I didnt think Id have a lot of luck finding vegan chocolate (because even dark chocolate can contain milk fat), but I spent a pretty penny on so many different flavors, % cacao, and chocolates from different countries. All of them vegan! It can be a little pricey since its all specialty chocolate, but you can sample anything youre interested in so you spend your money wisely.

This is my to go place for candies. This place is candyland heaven because they have all sorts of candies along with party supplies. I only went there today to specifically get 1 kind of candy and I found them here so much cheaper. I do my bargain hunting almost every time. When you need candies, this is the place to go.

Chocolate Covered has been around forever...and there is a very good reason..Hands down, the owner, Jack, is a mastermind at pairing, tasting, selecting the best chocolates from around the world. He knows his stuff and you could spend hours browsing his selections in his tiny, compact store in Noe Valley. He even carries Philip Marks Chocolates! Wow! What a treat!

A small but very cool local shop featuring artwork tins and chocolates. Each tin features a photograph of a San Francisco street or landmark sign, among other designs. The photos are printed on Japanese Washi paper using the Cyanotype processing method. Stop in, say hello to friendly owner Jack Epstein and pick-up a great gift.

The guy who runs it is very passionate about what he does and loves to talk about his work. Its quite expensive (~$20 for one of the larger tins, plus ~$20 for some of the larger chocolate bars), but it makes sense considering its all premium chocolate and handmade specialty tins. No Hersheys or Snickers to be found here.

I went in to get a gift for my wife and spent 30 minutes talking with the owner about chocolate! Could almost be a chocolate museum. An incredible selection from every corner of the globe, but if youre looking for a local souvenir he can advise too. Pricey though.

My go-to chocolate shop in SF when I am low on my drug of choice and need a fix (chocolate of course!). The selections of chocolates is vast and Jack is constantly ordering new kinds and rearranging the shelves to fit it all in. For years, I walked by here and had no idea it was a chocolate shop. Always looked at the window display which only had the cyanotype boxes and never up at the sign until YEARS later. Id been missing out! The chocolates may seem pricey to some, but with high quality chocolate such as the bean-to-bar types that he carries, there are no fillers and you just need a little taste to melt on your tongue to get the depth and richness of flavors. Not like waxy Hersheys or even Ghiradelli chocolates with lots of filler and less actual cocoa. These chocolates will leave you satisfied and definitely wanting more.

I’ve been coming here for a long time. It’s quite dangerous as everytime I go I find new bars/brands I’ve never heard of and spend too much money! They stock hard to find chocolate from all over the globe. I can’t recommend dropping by here enough if you are looking for single origin bars.
