He took the time to explain the possibilities of why I was having a squeaky windshield, along with how he would recommend approaching the problem with potential solutions. Got my windshield replaced here at the 16th st location back in September. Photos below show the rubber weather strip around on the driver side not lining up properly. Chances are my windshield will probably leak water through.Also underneath the glass you can see by A-piller wasn’t properly put back together either. The passenger side is the same.Wouldn’t recommend this location.

Horrible customer service. Cancelled my appointment at 4:45pm the night before via email. They left a phone number to contact them should I have questions but nobody answered. I can understand that product inventory is an issue but they clearly knew that before end of business the day before my appointment and could have called me. At best the next appointment they would give me was 3 weeks out, I had already waited over a week.Thankfully I had been told about In & Out Auto Glass, they were wonderful. Id recommend them over Safelite every time. They answered their phone after hours and got me in the next day. They were friendly, quick and LESS EXPENSIVE!!!If your insurance pushes you to Safelite, Id politely decline and head to In & Out!!

We had a chip on our windshield so we booked an appointment to get it inspected. To my surprise, the technician advised that we should not get it fixed as the process would damage the glass more since it was only a surface chip.Very happy with the professional and honest service that is quite rare now. Will definitely visit them again if I have any other glass issues.

The San Francisco location is horrible. They put the wrong glass on the front window of my vehicle and now my rearview isnt sealed firmly to the glass. They didnt even notify me about this issue. I found out when I adjusted my mirror. I spoke with the service tech there and I made a visit to the supervisor at the South San Francisco location, since there is none at the San Francisco location, and I was told there is nothing that could be done. What kind of service is this? They better hope this mirror doesnt cause me problems while Im driving while trying to resolve this issue.

CSAA sent me here. Great service from Henry as soon as I drove in. He brought out the new replacement windshield to double check that the glass is not damage and showed it to me. This young man understands people skills! Quoted me 1 hour, but he texted me half an hour later that he will be done sooner. Henry even called me to inform me that it was done. He informed me not to wash the vehicle for 24 hours and he had me inspect the new windshield. Perfect! Very happy customer!

Great experience here! The team was very friendly, professional, and efficient. They opened up the shop a few minutes early for me, replaced my windshield in only 45 minutes, and even vacuumed my floors for free! I took my honda odyssey 2010 cuz for my glass needs. Back driver glass and windshield replacement Since my company recommended farmers 😪, 6 month later and 3 appointments and 3 complaints to my insurance, now I have to go to honda to get installed my glass i should it done that for the start, safelite really doesnt care about their costumer, i will never take my cars in here again for my glass needs.

The service I received from Juan Gutierrez was top notch best of the best. Safelite AutoGlass gave me the red carpet treatment thru the whole repair process. Only to be topped off with my car looking better than the day I bought it. Never have I been blown away by such great customer service and the finished product. Scheduled a warranty appointment, went in and was told the issue wasn’t covered by the warranty. Said I would pay to have it fixed, was told that wasn’t possible and that I’d have to set up a new appointment two weeks out, because a “warranty” appointment can’t be changed to a “regular” appointment.

My rear window was smashed, and while they didnt have my exact non-tinted Forester window in stock (neither did any other glass shop), Thomas was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He explained exactly what I needed, suggested another place that might have it, and even wrapped it up in plastic despite me not being a customer. Would gladly go back in the event of any further glass issues.

Staff are courteous and efficient, they did quality work replacing a broken window on my car. Accept appointments at 7am even though published business hours start at 8am. You cant really leave your car there because they dont have space to store cars securely so if youre looking for a drop off and pick up the next day or later, choose a different location. But for a couple hour in-and-out job this is a good shop.

Correcting my previous 1 star review... thank to Thomas and the staff. The issue with the windows was the insurance company. Never use geico! Thomas and other staff members helped me get the issue resolved by talking on the phone with them and having them replace what geico ordered.( Previos review)Great employees wonderful Service.When you have Mopar soundproof windows and they are being replaced because of vandalism. they should instal the same windows not some cheep windows that they charge you the same price for. terrible quality.

My windshield had several cracks coming from one chip that unfortunately was too large to repair with insurance coverage, meaning that I needed to replace the windshield out of pocket. Travis was very helpful and friendly! Helped me get the service I needed within my budget, I’ll definitely go back if I ever need repairs.

I was amazed by their good service today. I had to catch my shuttle to work, as my car also approaching lease return date, so leave me really little choice. They actually opened the store for me at early 7am, all staff are very friendly and fast to get replacement done for me. The store manager called me a few ahead to double confirm the parts, which avoid the wrong part (convertible vs coupe). Recommend this store to everyone.

Reliable, consistent place. Ive gotten my windshield replaced a few times here, and theyve done a good job each time. Insurance has covered it in all cases. I would definitely call ahead to make an appointment. Also best if you can leave your car there for a while and run an errand as it does take some time.

Been waiting for my glass for a month! Had to call tens of times to get most of the time no info. After waiting the first week, learned that the glass was never even ordered! When I was finally able to reach someone close to a manager position was promised that I would be called with the updates. Never happened! Long wait time on phone too. Totally disconnection between scheduling department and shop! very very poor customer service! Wouldnt recommend and next time if I ever need this type of service, will make sure not to use this company again!Update: after waiting for more than a month, I finally got my window fixed! The service was great and it took less than an hour! The delay in getting the glass was apparently on the dealership!

Very unprofessional operation. They set up an appointment two weeks prior for 7 a.m. knowing that they dont open till 8 a.m. . Then they conveniently forgot to inform me that you must remain there during the entire two hours it takes to replace the front windshield of the automobile. So we had to reschedule 2 weeks out. So I come back in two weeks on the date they themselves set only to find out that they dont perform that type of windshield replacement due to the lane changing devices on the car and it must be done out of town. They accept no responsibility for either of the major inconveniences to my daily calendar. It is not advisable to conduct business with these individuals they are highly incompetent, highly unprofessional, and highly disrespectful!

They have no idea what they’re doing. I went in 3 separate times to get my glass fixed, first time they didn’t have the glass, second time it was “too flimsy to install” and then the third time they again didn’t have the glass, and claimed the try to contact me the day before, which they had not, and I had called the morning of to confirm they had the glass, which they confirmed. Don’t even waste your time going here, even the guys working there (who were very nice) told me to try a different provider as they could probably never get the glass for my car... I drive a VW.

I had a windshield replaced here in May, 2019. They told me that the new glass they were putting in was scratched and ask me to inspect it beforehand; if I accepted it, they promised me $100 off the price. I agreed to have them install the scratched windshield in exchange for the $100 discount. No credit was ever issued. Called the 415 number listed on the website, got through to a company customer service person who said “it is not our practice to discount the price for scratched glass.” I said well that is what happened. She said let me put you through to the store in San Francisco. Of course that put me back into the customer service queue....”your call is very important to us.”So I paid a visit to the store. After several back and forth exchanges about the situation and general lack of cooperation, the store employee consulted the record on the computer and determined that they had indeed offered the discount, and said they would now sort it out and get me the $100 I was promised. I think I may have heard in there “if the manager approves it.....”Nothing so far, but I will pursue this and hold the company to it.Needless to say, this kind of thing is terrible for a company’s reputation and make their ads seem particularly disingenuous and false.

Bunch of jokers. You cant make this up -- happened to me a couple months ago.My car door worked fine before going in to the Safelite in San Rafael. Then I got my window fixed on it, and it wouldnt unlock anymore (broken).So I came in to this Safelite on a Saturday, and the attendant was super nice. He told me they would fix the door for free on Monday. I came in on Monday, and the manager, without getting up from his lunch to *look* at my car, told me it was *impossible* for them to fix, and that I would have to go to a body shop. Even though Safelite broke the door in the first place!So... I called the Safelite in San Rafael, and they fixed it, for free, in 15 minutes. Not sure why the manager in the Mission was so damn sure that it was an impossible fix, smh.

Although we had problems with booking it through geico, the personnel at the location made everything right. As I stated, it was booked through our insurance, and the lady said we could drop the car off at noon, our appointment was at 130pm, and then pick up the car before 5pm. I arrived just before noon, and they said my appointment was not until 130 and they could not house my car. I showed them the confirmation email with the time of Noon displayed as the confirmation. They were very nice about it, and squeezed me in during lunch. It only took 30 minutes for them to replace the front windshield.They also said they do not allow people to leave their cars there all day. So all the information the insurance lady told us was incorrect. Besides that, everything was great. The personnel at the safe-lite were very helpful and courteous.

I was a little worried about what the experience would be given some of the low scores here, but I had an overall positive experience.The good: They were very accommodating with my schedule and went out of their way to make sure I was able to drop off my car early so I could get into a rental car (since you cant get a rental from insurance without a service appointment). They had to order parts and received them and completed the service in 1 day. The car looks great. Finally, everyone I spoke to was super friendly and helpful.The could be better: I called before my initial appointment and was told they had the parts. When I arrived, it turned out they didnt have the right parts, so I wasted time having to drive there and back. Also, although they did a good job of cleaning out the majority of the broken glass, I still had to do a thorough cleaning afterwards to get some small remnants. To be fair, I dont know if I should expect them to do a full cleaning, but that would move this up to a 5-star rating.

Very average experience. Had to wait 30 minutes (not an exxagerration) for my insurance to verify the service for a windshield repair. I give credit to the man at the front desk, he was very patient. The service technicians are not professionals. They blare their rap music super loud and just seem like amateurs. I dont care about the music, listen to whatever you want. But probably not a great idea to blare it so loud that you can hear it at the front desk when you are trying to sort out paperwork, payment and trying to welcome customers into the garage. Some people may not take kindly to offensive language and lyrics. I dont know, seems like common sense to me. The repair was average. All in all, they got the job done, hence the 3 star rating. Not bad, Not great, just OK.

The level of incompetence with some of the people working here is unbelievable. I’ve tried to have my windshield replaced THREE TIMES, and each time they have succeeded in having the wrong glass for my vehicle. I’ve spent over 8 hours of my own time dealing with and waiting for these monkeys to do their job and they can’t even do that right. It has been almost 2 months since I made my claim with Geico, and I am stuck with these idiots. Can’t wait to see what else they mess up.

Auto insurance recommended Safelite for smashed window repair so I scheduled service. Nearest appointment was 8 days away but whatever theres lots of windows broken in SF.I show up for my service, after taking the day off work, to then be informed that I dont actually have an appointment. This despite 3 email reminders CONFIRMING a service appointment at that time and location... Front desk person said they hadnt ordered my part so I guess at some point they also cancelled my service without any notification?Got on the phone with customer service who tried to contact this shop and sort things out but we got put on a 45 minute hold. Eventually I gave up on Safelite. All in all a recklessly bad experience with a shameful company.Thank goodness I found In & Out Auto Glass in Bayshore who did my repair same day in 1 hour. Dont go to Safelite, go to them.

The hours are not accurate for the business. They actually open at 7. Incompetent staff and no manager on site, they refuse to help customers and are totally ignorant to what services they can actually provide a customer. Didn’t have OEM glass and weren’t able to complete a replacement despite the national schedulers insisting they could. Save yourself some time and go elsewhere.

Had a really bad experience with this garage.I took an appointment by phone to repare the vent glass. The appointment was 5 days later this phone call with a quote at 200$. Arrived a the appointment, the glass was not delivered. The mechanic was suppose to call me back to schedule an other appointment. Never received his call. I set up an other appointment online the next Monday. The mechanic call me to move the meeting on Wednesday and give me a new quote of 300$ because the part was not available. Thursday I got my car back with the windows replaced and found out the windows frame was bent. Need to take a this appointment to get it fixed...I do not recommend to use this garage, really bad service. It took me 2 weeks to get my windows fixed when it suppose to be done in few hours.

Totally Incompetent. 3 separate appointments, all of which had to be re-scheduled, because they didnt have the right glass. I DRIVE A PRIUS: THE MOST COMMON CAR IN THE STATE. Trying to get anyone on the phone is a complete waste of time; the 877 number operators are sympathetic but useless. The local store doesnt answer the phone. Booked an appointment through Geico for a serious rock chip in my windshield. The work took 10 minutes, with excellent explanation of the process, during which I snuck out to Tartine Manufactory down the street for a morning bun (do this). I didnt need to do a single piece of paperwork.

Bottom line: after 5 weeks of screwing around with Safelite, I went to a competitor and had new glass in an hour. You can debate the details, and the competitors glass is non OEM, but the bottom line is that if your car gets broken into (likely at the most inconvenient time) and you need it fixed ASAP, dont waste your time with Safelite.

My car was broken into on a recent road trip. Breaking one window wasnt enough fun, two had to be shattered. When I showed up at my Safelite appointment, I was treated courteously, the process was explained clearly and I was out of there a half hour sooner than estimated. A week later, my windows are working well. Should I have to go through this again, Im going through it with Safelite.

My truck was broken into. I called Safelite and scheduled an appointment. The person I spoke with over the phone was very friendly, although she accidentally put my truck in as a Tundra, instead of a Tacoma, so when I went in for the appointment they had the wrong glass. Instead of making me go through the trouble of having to reschedule an appointment the employee made a phone call and was able to get the correct glass in that afternoon. They gave me a call when the glass came in and fit me in that afternoon even though they were very busy. Not only that, but he gave me a discount because of the mishap! If I ever have to get a window fixed again (fingers crossed) I will definitely be going back to Safelite!

After waiting for 2 weeks, i show up for my appointment. The technician tells me is going to take 1 hour. After waiting for an hour, the technician tells me that they have not received the parts. They could not tell me when the parts would arrive, so they could not book a follow up appointment; plus they could not possibly put me in touch with their manager who of course was not there. This place is horrible I had to take my car back three times and then they broke a piece of the window. I have a Mercedes Benz! The manager at this location is a rude and a bully. I emailed the quote to fix my card to him when I arrive to the store he screamed at me and he told me they will give me $20 and the quote is 600+. Geico referred me to them but I would never use this company again I just want my car fixed and I think that Manager needs to be fired because he is incompetent!This happened three months ago and my car still not fixed

Couldnt get a mobile appointment for 16 days and not even an in shop appointment 6 days!! Ridiculous!! How can people drive with smashed windshields? I had to drive to another place in the Bayview with a severely damaged windshield. They had the glass in stock, fixed it in 90 minutes and were very nice! Warranty isnt the same as Safelite but I dont care I drive for work so I couldnt wait forever!!

One of these people stole a FM-Bluetooth transmitter out of my car. Im 98% sure of it. I know I had it coming in and not coming out. Manager was lying so hard it might have actually been him that stole it! The total repair on the glass ended up being $10 more than if I paid with insurance which might be a coincidence but IDFK. Not a trustworthy place.

Terrible service and unprepared staff.I left my first appointment without a new window because they didnt have my window molding. They told me to call the next day to see if a new shipment came in. I called 5+ times and no one answered; they didnt have a voicemail so I could not leave a message. I got a hold of someone two days later, and came in for my second appointment. I left my second appointment because they did not have my OEM window (prior to the first appointment they said they had it) or a window retainer.Rather than having to come in for a third time (1+ weeks after my initial appointment date); I am taking my business elsewhere. Upon installation they carelessly knocked off buttons from our relatively new, european luxury car. Then we have had to bring our car in 4 times to get properly installed. the first time it had an audible airleak, the 2nd and 3rd the molding/caulking around the window starting flapping around on the freeway. We are going one last time but so bitter of all the time wasted in this 3 month period. THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE IT RIGHT THE FIRST OR SECOND TIME. They also have no true customer support, no telephone to corporate which tells you they have nothing in place for accountability. I needed my driver side window replaced. When I arrive for my appointment, apparently my window hadnt arrived, so I was told by the employee that I would receive a follow-up call to reschedule when my window had arrived. A week and a half goes by without any phone calls until I call them, and after much confusion and apologizing, Im rescheduled. I arrive for my follow-up appointment, my window is sufficiently replaced, and that is that. When I asked about why my originally appointment was botched, all responsibility and accountability was shucked.I dont expect service with a smile, but I do expect courtesy and fairness. If my window hadnt arrived you should probably give me a heads up, or at the very least give me a discount for wasting my time, money, and gas.In short, I would recommend taking your business else where because this place was rude.

I came to a safelite shop with my back totally blown out. Its about 6:55 in the morning spare of the moment but Matthew c a r a p i e t went above and beyond to find glass for my back window and within a hour found a location in Union City with the glass that I needed. I was back on the road to working again within a few hours. So I just want to personally thank him and his staff in the shop for helping clean up the mass and getting me back on the road again. As an Uber driver I didnt miss the whole day witches is Crucial to my earning potential. And in spite of the inventory that they were involved in and being locked out of the computer, Matthew over rid the system to again went above and beyond to getting me the glass that I needed and back on the road again. So again thank you for your help in my moment of crisis.

Had to wait 10 days for appointment, Safe;ite cancelled at last minute, told me next appointment would be 11 more days. Cancelled and went to another company I could get glass in 5 days

Completely unresponsive! Called on a Friday and as of Wednesday still hadnt gotten anyone out to us. Called and waited on hold for several hour on hold to eventually just get dropped off the line without anyone picking up. Truly horrible experience.

Id rather drive without a windshield then come back here.Apt 1: Didnt have the Correct WindshieldApt 2: Tried to Bait and Switch an OEM windshield with a non-OEM windshield.Apt 2 + 1 day. Water is literally pouring out of my dome light from the improperly installed windshield.There was no appointment 3 because I had learned my lesson and went elsewhere.

I called to confirm my appointment but once I got there they said the warehouse shipped the wrong windshield... Then the next available date was over a week away when I had to wait over a week initially as well. The guy offered $50 off for my inconvenience though hence the one extra star.
