Shocker... yet another location of Stone Brewing delivering a very enjoyable and satisfying experience. Beers, (ability to order) sandwiches, good people, great service, outdoor space, San Diego weather... what else is needed in life? Carly was holding it down on the inside area, and I do not recall the name of the guy that was primarily serving my liquids but he was very chill and welcoming. I believe this is the fourth Stone location that Ive been to, and this Kettner location serves as a next-of-kin to the other locations Ive visited. Its a very nice spot to take in the rays while sitting in the outdoor area that was constructed like a done-up backyard with lots of seating (if you have friends, and even if you dont).Ordering was extremely efficient, idiot-proof, and prompt. I cannot say enough good things about my time guzzling Stone nectar after nectar after nectar after nectar at this location. The actual location and setup was solid, but the thing that really makes it thrive are the people working there. These are people that give off vibes that one could just hang with them, kick back, relax, drink Stone, and trade war stories from the Battle of Awesomeness. Thanks for the reminder of what I am missing from when I lived in San Diego. For now, Im just a vacationer (the kind without Ken Vasoli).

Great atmosphere inside and out! Availability to order online with tab or go inside. Beer options were great, but no food. They do allow you to order from neighboring businesses and eat there. Options like Thai, Poke and sandwiches available.

Nice find! This cozy location is tucked into a very mini mall of sorts. It has a great seating area indoors with comfy couches or venture outside to the beer garden for some fresh San Diego air. There are good food options from nearby restaurants including a sandwich shop and a Thai place. QR codes are at the brewery seating areas for convenience. The beers are phenomenal…a reason for Stone’s global recognition. They are especially good at IPAs.

While in San Diego recently I visited quite a few breweries and bars. This tap room was one of the ones that would come back to. The staff were very good, with service and knowledge about the beers. The seating area was sprawled over inside and outside areas, so no problem finding somewhere to settle in for a few drinks. The beer that I had was very good. I did not try the food though. I would come back here for sure.

Well know for its wide range of beers is an excellent option to hangout or chill out with good company. They dont have food or snacks here but theres a Thai place inside the same building and youre allowed to place orders from the Thai place and they will bring your order to your table. The options to drink are multiple and for sure youll find what youre looking for. Also what youre not looking for and if youre adventurous and willing to explore fantasy and not regular flavours, this is the place for you. Blondes, IPAs, Stouts, Ales, youll find it here. The service is really good and at this location and thanks to the Thai place you can enjoy of a delicious bite with your beer. Im the massaman curry lamb, one of the plates Ive had coming from the Thai place. Another one I recommend and tried today is the Tom Ka noodles. Really delicious.

We like this spot due to its location. Tucked right next to the Santa Fe depot, downtown San Diego, its a quick drive from anywhere in the city. The hubby also likes to pick up a crowler or two on the way home from work. Big dog friendly patio makes this one of the best Stone locations in the city.

This was a decent little tap room, with a small indoor space and a decent sized patio area. Really enjoyed all the beers, Stone really has really dialed in their recipes. No food, only beers, and I wouldn’t recommend coming her with kids due to limited space. Good for groups, and they have board games and a hook/ring game that keeps you around for a while. Recommended if you’re in the downtown area.

Stopped in here on my way out of an exhibition at the museum. It’s a super cozy bar. There’s a great patio with fire pits. Still too cold on a chilly night so we sat inside. The bar has a great selection of tap beers. Bartenders are super nice. Many of the beers were on sale. Would definitely hang out here again.

Stone beer next to the train station... Dangerous!I have never met a bartender here I did not learn from or enjoy talking with. They have a lot of beers to choose from whether you want a light pilner or a heavy stout youll find something to like. The patio outside is open yet cozy with heaters and fire pits. They do have games available inside. You can purchase your beer to go; in a bottle or can which I highly recommend.TIP: Set an alarm for your Transit time or you may end up drinking for long than intended.

Honestly highly disappointed. The ordering system SEEMS convenient BUT literally had people just run food at random times. Appetizers came out after our main courses, even though they were ordered before anything else. No manager to be seen, no servers. Mosquitos flying over everyones heads. I killed 3 by just clapping once. Food was mediocre. The ahi appetizer was good and the mac n cheese. Thats what the one star is for. We asked help so we could better understand the app and the worker we asked was useless. Basically told me to figure it out. Sooo definitely wouldnt recommend if youre looking to dine out with service.

Great patio and indoor space with a friendly community vibe. They have board games and other bar games available for patrons to use. Easy and convenient (I recommend walking, though there are a few parking garages and decent street parking available) but once you’re here, make sure you check out the beautiful stone garden (get it, Stone brewing?) to relax in with a fire and delicious brew. 10/10! This Stone Tap Room is great! Not only do they have excellent beer, the beertenders are personable, knowledgeable, and truly want you to enjoy your experience. The place is very accessible via multiple modes of transport, the inside is cozy and welcoming, and the patio is comfortable and relaxing. The Thai spot next door has great happy hour specials and they get food trucks occasionally as well. If its your first time, get a flight for variety, ask questions and enjoy. Located right next to Amtrak/Trolley station in downtown San Diego, two blocks from cruise terminal. Enjoyed the Stone Enjoy By chocolate & coffee IPA (9.4%). Has an amber color but tons of flavor, worthy of a deeper color brew. 8oz serving (no pints). The Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant B*stard (8.1%) was also very good. They have flights and store. One of our go to places for beer downtown. The location is right behind Santa Fe Station, its easily accessible. Im not a a huge fan of IPAs, but theres a variety of beers sold in 4 oz tasters, pints and growlers, so theres something for everyone. Theres no food on site, but they allow you to bring food in and theyll even pair your food and brew, which is pretty cool. The environment is what keeps us coming back. Its got an almost cottage vibe to it, with by deep deck chairs, and fire pits. The best part for us is that its also dog friendly, so well often stop in for a taster on our nightly walk. Always a good time.

I’m a huge fan of Stone, have been for 15+ years, but was not impressed with this location, even after multiple visits.Built along the same design as the Oceanside store with the large stones, large firepit, repurposed barrel chairs, it too is secluded. It’s not that it’s hidden, but it’s not advertised aside from some small signs. The store front is actually at the back of the patio or via the lobby (coded if your entering after hours since it’s shared with private housing)What got me was how dark it was. I’m all for a rustic, industrial feel, but I’m talking about how everything gets washed out with the natural light countering insufficient indoor lighting. Flouro or halogen aren’t good options, but this is straight up lumen deficiency. This would work great for a wine bar, but it’s seriously not how you sell merchandise, let alone beer (yes very different demo’s than wine).Prices are in line with other locations and other breweries. They are stepping up their game on collabo’s and seasonals, but dropped the ball in changing their main beers this deep into the game (ruination). How can you change a recipe after 10 years?Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are also good at explaining the asinine carry out rules in this part of town.No food like all other satellite locations, but friendly to bringing in your own, places do delivery too. It’s right next to the train station, but a generic addition to a brand on the rise.
