Adam, the owner, personally evaluated the value of the piece and didnt try to see how low I would go...in fact, his price was higher than I expected. He took very good care not to use chemicals or file the coin, but used a digital gold detector. The market price of Gold was displayed in the store where I could feel comfortable in the price he was offering. I will definitely go back when times are better and purchase gold and silver from Blue Diamond.

I’ll be completely honest, I didn’t really know what to expect when walking into Blue Diamond as I’ve been to a few jewelers here in town getting mixed results. I came in because I wanted to know exactly what jewelry I had was plated, the karat, and what I could get for everything. I wasn’t in very high spirits because the previous jeweler I went to looked at my pieces and told me several items were plated and all they did was stare at them. Not at blue diamond though. At blue diamond you can be 100% certain that they’re going to chemically test your jewelry and be absolutely certain that you’re getting a great deal. Very knowledgeable staff, I learned an infinite amount of knowledge talking to the owner and staff. 100% recommend these guys, I had an absolute blast talking to the staff and learning about the various items they purchase and sell.

I did my research ahead of time, so I knew the market value of the sliver coins I brought in to Blue Diamond. The coin buyer specialist sat with me and patiently and thoroughly reviewed all of my coins looking for unique specimens that may have had value above the price of the raw silver. He was knowledgeable, courteous respectful and very professional. His offer aligned with the market value. There was no attempt to low ball, just a fair honest and appropriate offer. He cut me a check and I was on my way; a happy and satisfied customer. If the opportunity to sell any other precious metal, or gems arises, I will definitely go to Blue Diamond first.

Ive dealt with a lot of coin shops and pawn shops in the San Antonio area...in my experience, the Jewelry Exchange and Auction is head and shoulders better than any of the others.About a year and a half ago I wanted to sell some silver coins. I called five stores/shops that I found in the phone book and online, and asked what they would give for my coins. David at The Jewelry Exchange was the most approachable, most willing to give me the time of day, and he offered the best rates for my coins.That first encounter was so pleasant, Ive kept on going back, practically on a weekly basis, to buy or sell gold and silver coins and jewelry and to bid on a wide variety of items at their weekly auctions. From time to time Ive double-checked their prices/rates to make sure theyre still the best...and they always are. I even bought a diamond from their available inventory at a fraction of the cost of comparable stones from the discount jewelry chain stores. And I’ve been able to buy a whole range of items at their auctions at much-lower-than-retail prices.The thing that stands out the most to me is David and Adams consistent, positive approach to dealing with customers. A wise person once told me that the best way to determine a persons character is to see how that person deals with correcting one of their mistakes (everyone makes mistakes). Apparently I drove across town to be insulted.Took a visit to their store to see what things were about. Had hoped to become a buyer and not likely a seller. Still I bought a mix of things in to get an idea on the store.On arrival I was told how amazing they are with some memorized lines - this guy was clearly on autopilot and not interested in me being there. Was told how I can educate myself - without any idea of my background. And no I didnt ask to be educated. Once this person full of assumptions about me realized I would not be a seller - I felt he had become impolite and insulting to get me to leave.Repeatedly told about silver after I clearly said my only interest is in gold and diamonds. That I do not like silver. At a glance was told my silver rings would probably go on their bid board which was for their undesirable silver pieces. They were both diamond wedding sets. Surprisingly, I was still curious about the auctions to see if I would be a buyer...one bad apple doesnt mean the whole tree is bad right? Well, that didnt go well because he simply decided he was done talking to me and walked away.This place isnt a specialty shop - they dont sell piece by piece with consideration to anything...they sell in bulk and could truly care less about you unless youre a bulk seller or buyer. More of a processing plant with a store front.Lastly, I do have a decent eye for jewelry - it is my background and frankly my obsession. Be cautious with this place. There were few showroom pieces and the rest mostly very worn estate sale trinkets. If anything the customer service that was lacking simply highlighted their inability to be professional or trusted.Please note if you are in the business of buying and selling - if you want to be successful...dont judge and assume based on appearance.

I purchased 2 watches and a number of watch chains from Blue Diamond and they all were as described. I have to say that the Hamilton 992 was in pristine condition and is running right on time. The delivery was prompt and arrived when promised.

Worst experience I have ever had at a jeweler!!!! After waiting an entire hour to be serviced the owner Adam tried to make me a extremely insulting offer for a ring that was appraised at $1200 he offered me a whopping $98. Dont waste your time with these Jokers you are better off going up the road to San Antonio jewelry and dealing with real professionals.

I went there with a box of Japanese medals an other little miscellaneous items. Staff was very pleasant but when it came down to it they only offered me 60 bucks for my whole box of items. I naturally declined their offer and went somewhere else. For all the medals an one ring I had thrown in the box this other place I went to offered me 200bucks. Always get a second opinion you just might miss out like I almost did.
