The best board game store EVER is San Antonio. Knight Watch Games.Soon after we arrived and were browsing, we were offered a tour of the this place.This place has 5 rooms excluding the restrooms. The main room is set up like a medieval bar with rustic tables, dragons heads on the walls and heraldic flags hanging over the tables. Even the lighting adds to the atmosphere. It is first come, first serve to sit at these tables. They have a large library of games you borrow to play in that room.Another rooms is the Star Wars Imperial ship room which is so very cool. It has themed tables, and its where they cleverly keep the play mats customers are allowed to borrow.Another is the costume room. My child gasped upon entering this room. Its filled with costumes and accessories that you can try on and/or purchase. The prices werent outrageous, either; I was quite surprised at how affordable the dresses were. (My only other experience being Ren Faire prices.)The other 2 rooms had to be reserved and had different costs depending on how long. One room was being used when we were there, however the other one had a large table with lights that Alexa could change the colors of, a TV, a small fridge and a fog machine.As for food, you can bring in your own, but no alcohol is allowed because they sell swords.The games to purchase are displayed on triangular shelves on the left hand side of the store, and their selection is above average. They also have a good variety miniatures, paint, and dice sets. They also have a dice trough which was a hit with my kid since they could pick out one or two.Go check it out if youre in San Antonio. Its just so cool.

A fun find on vacation! Plenty of games to peruse and purchase, with ample table space to set up a game. They even have themed private rooms to rent. Now I want one of these where we live in Virginia! Nicely done.

We stopped in on our honeymoon and were blown away! The atmosphere is INCREDIBLE! I absolutely love the vibe of the place as it really adds to the experience. The selection is great and we found things we hadnt seen before at our local game shops back home. The rental rooms looked phenomenal and I love that theyre themed.

Knight watch is the game store I have always dreamed of. Their selection is limited primarily by space but in comparison to game shops I have been in with similar shelf space their selection is fantastic.Where knight watch really shines however, is the atmosphere. Fantail decorations, plenty of play space, and great people. I am happy to say that knight watch is my game store of choice.

Knight Watch is the best game store in SA! Its a great place to hang out and find people to play games with. Their events are well organized and fun. Their prices are good, and its great to support an LGS that offers such an awesome community. Highly recommended to any existing players and definitely highly recommended for newcomers who would like to get in on the fun!

My first time here was to attend a Flesh & Blood TCG tourney and it felt like the perfect venue for it.Really cool and thematic space, plenty of stock in FAB and MTG, and they took great care of the 40-something players while juggling customers pretty well also. Their judge for the day, Matt, was also a super cool dude.Id definitely come here again and likely will if I ever find myself in the area.

Awesome board game store especially if you are wanting to buy some more of the not as commonly popular board games. They also have a very big board game area where you can play free games they have in store, or you can bring in your own. Ive never used it but there are always people playing and having a good time. The staff are all very friendly, and are quite helpful pointing out some new fun games that you might like based on what games you tell them you enjoy. Definitely a place that I will continue to return to, to get my board game fix in the future.

Super friendly staff that really know their stuff. They can answer basically any question about any of the products and they will either know it right of the top of their heads or know where to find the answer. Best table top gaming store in Texas! There isnt a better board game store in San Antonio, and arguably, in Texas! The owners have setup an amazing atmosphere with the shop, and continues to strategize various ways they can improve their offerings, such as the upcoming cafe/restaurant. Moreover, their staff is always happy to administer help to any and all travelers walking through their tavern. The ambience, staff, and games are top-notch at Knights Watch Games.

Awesome spot for boardgame and tabletop titles and supplies, lots of current releases but not an overwhelming selection, great Hall style long tables in the main room and themed private rooms available for gaming groups with plenty of room for moderate sized features, a back room contains an impressive selection of Renfest and themed cosplay wardrobe items, good but limited miniature and paint accessories, mtg behind the counter with perhaps standard singles but not catalogedThe place is very inviting and cool to browse around with a bit of everything for the nerdy type, no open sign on the front and a place next door is being renovated at the moment so it might look super closed but probably people inside behind the shelves, the main area is a bit dim as well fixtures in the restroom needed some maintenance and could use some additional lighting for their mtg displayOn that note there were always people there playing mtg each time I visited this week, maybe just due to their impressive hours and welcoming atmosphere, but based on their available stock for magic and lack of cataloged items it is not something I imagine they depend on for much revenueIf the market in austin wasnt already flooded they would be a welcome addition to any side of town

This is a really great niche store! I love how there is something for basically anyone who is interested in any sort of board, tabletop, or even rpg gameplay.The biggest gripe I have with this store is the lack of obvious organization. For those who come to the store for the very first time, it is overwhelming and a lot of information to take in at once. You have to wander the aisles aimlessly for any real chance at finding something. Id suggest some sort of signage or other organizational method to help with this.

Amazing place! A DMs dream come true! Im visiting from CC and my friend is visiting from Orlando Florida and we had a blast just looking around at everything that was there! Definitely recommend coming here if you do any table top games!

Knight watch games is a great story with a large selection of games and RPG books. Their tables are large and its a great place to spend a few hours playing games.

This game shop features games and LARPing costumes that are not easily found. The staff is always helpful. And the long medieval tables are easy to use, play games on and stay socially distant. They also offer curbside service and online ordering if need be. Just fantastic! Ill be frequenting this place as long as I live here.

Absolutely the best tabletop gaming store I have ever been to. I have shopped and played at most of the stores in San Antonio and in a few other Texas cities throughout my life and this store is by far the best I have ever been to. The owners/staff are wonderful, gregarious, knowledgeable and always willing to take the time to make sure you have the experience you are looking for. One of my favorite things about this shop is how well they stay current with all the areas they cater to. Its amazing to see a new game online and know that they will have it, or at least know how to get it for me. Which brings me to one of biggest draws of this store in my opinion: the prices! There is not the 30-50% markup over retail prices that some stores need to have to stay in business. Everything is so reasonably priced that I am actually willing to buy games in store instead of cringing at crazy markups and being reluctantly forced to purchase my games online or from a big-box store. That doesnt happen here. I have yet to find a game that wasnt for sale for a competitive price.There are many more things I could say about this location and the people who work and play here, but dont take my word for it! Seriously come in and have a look around! The store is clean, not smelly, well stocked, and usually very busy!

A huge variety of board games, beautiful layout and amazing rooms to play games. My husband said that if we lived here, he would be there everyday.

We only stopped by to pick up 25th Anniversary Edition of Settlers of Cataan. Staff immediately asked how they could help us and was very knowledgeable. The ambiance of this place is great. The main room is like a medieval hall with quite a few tables for game play. There are two or three private themed rooms. One room is a sci-fi theme.

This place is UNREAL. Ive never seen an establishment outside of a renaissance faire that has this level of immersion. They have everything you can think of to satisfy your inner-nerd. I cannot WAIT for their store next door to open as well.

Game selection was pretty good. Staff was friendly and offered game knowledge willingly. Large tables for gaming and they even have costume options.

A nice place to play a tabletop RPG the rooms I believe are reasonably priced the only negative thing I have to say is it is always freezing in those rooms even after we tell him to turn it down granted its probably one control for the whole store but those rooms are cold so if you do book them bring something a little more than shorts and a t-shirt overall it is a great place to go its fun and they do leave you alone

This is one of the most fantastic local game stores Ive been to. The staff, including the owners, are incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is inviting and the aesthetic is amazing. Theres a large selection of products to buy or sample gameplay before you decide, and the private rooms are immaculate and perfect for any group, whether its for D&D, EDH, or just grabbing a few games to play for a few hours. Cant praise this shop enough.

Never been more satisfied with a hobby store. Not only is the staff great and have everything youre looking for, but the atmosphere alone is enough to keep you coming back. You will truly feel immersed in this place. On top of all that, theyre expanding to a store next door called The Sanctuary which will fill all of your Cosplay needs! If i could rate 6 stars i would!

Holy Immersion! This place looks amazing. I walked in and instantly wanted to start a DnD campaign in there. Realy cool place and seems to have all you need. They got tons of board games, stuff for DnD, Warhammer, mtg, and much more.

This place is so cool! Its a gamer geek paradise, whether you want to stock up on supplies or find a game to play in store. Their selection of ren fair/larping attire is super impressive with incredibly fair prices. Definitely my go-to shop for any events coming up.

Been here plenty of times to play many games of commander, in these trying times this place has adapted and continued to provide a great place to meet up and play some rad games. Commander tournaments every Tuesday, 5$ dollar but in, every participant wins a pack while the winner earns a little bit more. Great people all around. Like always participate and be respectful to each other.

Incredible selection of board games and super friendly/helpful staff! The shop also sports a broad selection of “demo games”, boasting everything from “Cat Lady”, several “Escape Room” style games, and even some Kickstarter early releases of games such as “Mantis Falls”. I first went here on a date and unintentionally spent hours in shop without ever once feeling pressured to buy something or like we were being nuisances. Without a doubt one of the funnest, as well as most hospitable, game shops I’ve visited.

My favorite store to geek out at. They have the widest selection of board games, D&D content, MTG content, costumes, fantasy weapons, memorabilia, collectibles. You can rent private rooms for gaming and they offer free tables to play at. Due to covid, there’s been a stop for obvious reason, but this remains my go to. I love supporting this local business and their passionate and friendly employees.

Best location in San Antonio for all things tabletop RPG and board/card game related. The decor inside creates an immersive atmosphere that puts events and game nights over the top. Staff is helpful and friendly without being overbearing. Beware, however, it is hard to leave without more than you came for. I walked in to buy a gift for a friend, and left with 2 new board games and a new set of dice.... whoops.

Nice themes and design/aesthetic, the staff are a bit standoffish, poor lighting inside, not very friendly for miniatures players. The inventory is often lacking and prices can’t match other stores. If you are allergic to dogs they have 2 in the store each time I’ve been there.
