Sadly I went during the hours posted on Google maps and it was closed. I wanted to suggest an edit to include the new hours but did not see them posted on the door.Giving 3 stars because what I could see from the outside was a charming spot and I only wish I got to try the coffee and food.
The Sexy Sandwich was good. Bacon was cooked and semi-crispy, better than it being chewy like other places make it.Also got a latte that was good. Worse thing about Sip is getting there and it being downtown. If youre already downtown, its great.
Delightful coffee shop. Delicious latte and chicken pesto sandwich and ham and cheese croissant. So much flavor. Highly recommend for breakfast or an afternoon coffee break
The main focus here is on coffee, but they have a handful of sammiches and a few salads. I had the Veggie Delight sandwich ($7.58 with tax). TONS of avocado (they don’t skimp on the avocado here my peeps), lettuce, tomatoes, hummus, and caramelized onions on a couple of pieces of nicely toasted/grilled bread. Most places hold back on the avocado, but I can’t stress enough how much avocado was on this sandwich - and that’s a GOOD thing. It’s laid out like your typical hipster style coffee bar. Most of the seating is at bars around the windows looking out onto the street, and they have soft couches and chairs to lounge around on and discuss those important hipster issues while you enjoy your “brew.”
Went in 4/11/21 and ordered several coffees, breakfast sandwiches and two yogurt parfaits. Waited 40min for our order. Each parfait cup was half full. Mind you, a parfait is priced at $8each. The family after me was told by shop that parfaits had ran out. Therefore I concluded that I was charged full price for the last bit of yogurt they had and only received half orders. No shame on the behalf of staff. Do not waste your time or money at this so-salled establishment
Good location but doesn’t keep already very limited hours updated
Sip is awesome! Down to earth local coffee shop posted right in the heart of san Antonio. I recommend trying the standard and one of their excellent fresh juices or coffees. Surely you wont be disappointed!
Great location. Historic downtown San Antonio. Great baristas and awesome service. I ate a The Sexy and it was actually really tasty. The latte however was a bit water down or at least that is the taste in comparison to other similar coffee shops. But overall experience was great. Will definetly come back. 2 thumbs up.
The people were very nice and accommodating and went out of their way to make the perfect beverage. Unfortunately the coffee was WAY too bitter for my taste and after three attempt at making a decent cup of coffee, I ended up opting for a refund. Great service, horrible coffee.
Awesome place, great choice and fantastic fresh breakfast sandwiches. Never had a breakfast sandwich taste this good or lightly filling so I can start my day energetic.
Great locally owned alternative to that national place. Great coffee, creative eats and consistently superior service.
I originally was in line at the Starbucks across the street when I noticed this gem. I thought to myself why not support a small business instead of this one I am in and man its the best decision I’ve ever made! Their Nutella latte is the best latte I’ve ever had. I am a very picky coffee drinker so I was very surprised to actually liked it no not like. Love IT! I’ll be back every time I come to SA again. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly as well :)
Amazing place for food, content, & vibes!! The owner is super friendly. Please come here instead of Starbucks, it’s 10xs better & you help out a small business 🙌🏼
The coffee here is AMAZING. The team behind the counter is always super nice, I’m from out of town but they remembered me the next day I came in. I got the standard sandwich which was really great. It may take a minute to get your order when they’re busy, but I promise it’s worth the wait!I also like that they try to be environmentally conscious- with paper straws and no lids
Enjoyable little cafe and coffee shop. I was there a couple of years ago when my wife had a conference. I got to spend a couple of days here in the mornings on my own. It was probably a 10-15 minute walk from where I was staying near the Alamo. Im glad I did because my options were either hotel coffee or Starbucks (which does happen to be right across the street). Staff was friendly and the shop flow was steady. It is a bit small but I imagine most of their clientele are people who work near there, and I’ve never had trouble finding a seat. I was served quickly and spent some time there reading. I look forward to going there again.
I liked the food and hot tea. It would have been rated 5 star but they messed up on the order twice.
The coffee wasnt the best Ive had, but it wasnt the burnt stuff that the Starbucks across the street serves. You also get your coffee in a real mug and not as paper cup. I enjoyed The Sexy which is an egg sandwich with bacon and avocado. The bacon was great, I wish I could find bacon with the same smoked flavor. I will definitely visit again on my next trip.
Came across this coffee shop. It was good & the customer service was so attentive.
Love to stay while drinking my coffee, the place has a good ambiance quite and peaceful.
Simply amazing coffee and service! The quality of the coffee is top notch and it’s one of the best lattes I’ve had!!
I traveled all over the river walk looking for a Mom and Pop coffee shop and could not find one. However I found the Sip Brew Bar and Eatery slightly off of the river walk. Looked like a great place and smelled awesome! However, I walked in at 11:40am and was told they were closed even though online it says they close at 3:00pm; no hours are posted on the door. Would give it a better review if I could try it.
Lovely shop with amazing dishes and the service is always fast. They are so kind everytime I come in no matter the condition. 🥰
My family and I were going to Starbucks but found that there was this nice coffee shop right cross the streets. We wanted to try something new since we were jus visiting San Antonio. I’m pleased to say I enjoyed it very much. They suggested the Shaken Latte and really loved it:)) Thanks so much for the lovely experience.
Good staff they are friendly and kind its really awesome, Love it
Super cute place with great coffee!! I highly recommend this shop over the Starbucks across the street from it—which is rare since Starbucks is always my go too. I highly recommend the americano or the latte!
It’s a high dollar coffee shop and only open for very few hours and only a couple days a week. $$$
You wont be disappointed in the menu and service. the staff was very friendly and attentive. i can see why they have a lot of great reviews.
The espresso was really smooth and the food delicious. Great alternative to the evil empire that is across the street.
Right off the river walk. grabbed an Iced hazelnut almond milk latte from a corner coffee shop called Sip.While this drink was very tasty (AMAZING hazelnut flavoring), I found it leaving my coffee craving unsatisfied. The espresso’s strength was disappointing.Staff was super friendly and accommodating, nice atmosphere, and as my host suggested a great place to people watch!
I love this place and make it a point to eat here whenever I’m in the area. The Sexy is amazing and the coffee is so good. Everything is made to order, even the sandwich meats are freshly cut. That said, don’t expect to be in and out in five minutes. Take a seat, watch the city traffic outside and relax for a little while. It’s so worth it
Their coffee is very good, much better than the chain-that-will-not-be-named across the street. My husband and I also had sandwiches here one Saturday: he had the Sexy and I had the Madras. He enjoyed his sandwich very much, with crispy bacon, egg, and thinly sliced avocado. Mine was the best curried chicken sandwich Ive had. The spices were a perfect blend, where no one spice overwhelmed any of the others, the shredded carrots and walnuts added texture and crunch. It was delicious!
I tired to go across the street in the Starbucks, always long lines, homeless people and dirty. So what pleasant place, really clean, not crowded and with tasty pastries and excellent coffee. Customer service is friendly and fast. Their lemon cake is so good. Five stars, great place to go and fair prices.
Came here for the first time and the croissant and hot chocolate that I got was absolutely delicious. On top of that, great service. Definitely will be my go to place whenever I come visit San Antonio
On vacation and looking for a great coffee. Sip is delicious! Perhaps the best soy cappuccino I’ve ever had! Breakfast treats are good too. Staff is friendly too. We came here every morning while in San Antonio.
Great breakfast and coffeeThey have also vegan optionsExcellent customer serviceNatalie did amazing jobThank you
Awesome place, my drink was amazing and the atmosphere is great!
Great place to unwind while walking the river walk or just because. It’s across from a Starbucks which is always packed. It’s nice to have kind service, great LOCAL coffee and the vibe is super chill. Even pet friendly!
Didnt have any pastries when I went (9 am on a Thursday), but the cold brew has got to be amongst the best Ive ever had! Pretty small place but definitely a great one to come in and get some quick work done while having your morning/noon/midday coffee.
Nice, local coffee shop in downtown. We stopped by for ice cream. Clean, eclectic and open with bright big windows. Plenty of seating to sit and enjoy leisurely. Great customer service.
Love the atmosphere, service is friendly and absolutely the best! The best of the best for coffee, we are from Kansas City and am looking forward to a location coming near us!
Just got their house coffee (black of course) and very flavourful. Wish the large was bigger than 16oz however that doesnt affect the taste.
I drink my coffee bulletproof (no sugar, cream, anything) and I have to say this is probably the worst cup Ive ever had. 2 stars only because the location is fun for people watching and theres things on the menu I havent tried. It tastes burnt and completely flavorless. Maybe the reason the sexy everyone keeps recommending is so sought after is because it has sugar/cream added. Id recommend the white elephant coffee company if youre looking for an actual good cup of coffee.
Good area and location. I only had a coffee so Im only reviewing that. The coffee is good, I had a raspberry bear claw and it was also real good.I paid $ 6.50 for a small coffee and a pastry. A little high to be honest for a basic coffee and pastry.Other than that, Id go back for sure.
Was recommended this place by the lady over at CADEAUX. Very pleasant atmosphere. Though coffee prices are almost on par with the starbucks right across the street I definitely prefer this place. Good coffee.
This place is a delicious jewel in downtown. The curry chicken salad sandwich is the best in town and their coffee is delicious.
Great coffee and sandwiches with a cool environment and friendly staff
The espressos are great and their service is great. Extremely friendly and helpful.
I love this place. HAS AMAZING HOT CHOCOLATE! And I usually order the sexy the atmosphere is chill and you can get a good cup of coffee without having to wait a million years like the Starbucks across the street. Ive visited on multiple occasions. And the only complaint is that 5/6 times Ive been there. They ran out of something I want to order. Maybe Im just going at a bad time but only reason thats kept me away
Atmosphere is layed back and comfortable. Quit and cute. Perfect place to sit back and read a book or even do some out of office work. The service is very good and the latte is fantastic and beautifully made! I always enjoy finding out of the box places to stop for coffee.
Good coffee, great staff, food was very good. Like everyone before, I recommend the sexy sandwich it is amazing.
I didn’t know it was possible to have a bad experience at a coffee shop, but Sip found a way to make that happen. After waiting 20 minutes for a chai tea latte, I ended up with a disgusting cup of warm milk with only the slightest hint of tea. I took one sip, threw it in the trash and went across the street to Starbucks. Do yourself a favor. Go to Starbucks. Sip is hopelessly bad.
Really friendly baristas here. Good Java too!
I love to stop off at Sip during my towntown bike rides. I enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly staff. I have tried the espresso but today I tried a latte. Both were a perfect pick me up. Give them a visit. You will not be disappointed.
We always enjoy our time in this joint. Soooo much better vs the offering across the street.
Quiet, relaxing, chill, laid back enviroment. A place to sit and watch the many diversified tourists of downtown San Antonio walk by busy with their day and escape the hustle and bustle of life, if even for a moment of the day to Sip your coffee.
Nice place with good food and coffee. I got a sandwich with avocado that was really good; it seemed like the ingredients were fresh and high quality. It was fast too. I got a mocha later and it was great, not to much sugar. Awesome place.
Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here. The prices are good for what you get.
Great atmosphere, pretty splendid coffee as well. I didnt try any of the pastries (something which torments me still!) but they looked great. It can be a bit pricy, and getting to the outlets can be tricky (theres plenty of them, but theyre behind a long community table, so navigating the furniture and other guests might prove awkward), but overall an excellent little store. Perfect for treating yourself or for a good impression on a coffee date.
Came on a whim and was very impressed! I started with a drip coffee which was a fantastic medium roast estate grown (free refills!). This led me to try the veggie sandwich which was outta this world awesome: fresh, hearty, and just tasted incredible. Then a Pura Vida juice: another hit! I will never go to Starbucks again when Im here. Great job everyone at SIP! You guys rock and totally made my day.
Place is great! Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is also made fresh and awesome by the cooks. Would definitely recommend people to come by and check it out.
Atmosphere is decent, employees nice, coffee was alright. Chai wasnt my favorite seemed to be very watery as a mix to then add to milk. Also look into bamboo straws instead the paper ones dissolve quick and make the drink not taste good
