Im not really into coffee and only went there as a meet up. I had a boy chocolate which wasnt as sweet as I thought it would be. My friend has a cappuccino which they enjoyed. The staff was friendly and since it was the pearl there was plenty of outside seating. Wasnt expecting to get served or drinks in real cups since covid. It was kinda shocking lol. I used a straw 😆
Great options for coffee and tea. My husband loved the matcha latte, my horchata cold brew was great for caffeine but not the best flavor
IMHO one of the best locally owned coffee shops in SA. Superior coffee. Great service. Always clean and tidy. Fun location. Friendly and accessible owners.
Popped in to grab a basic iced latte.Service was good, when I approached the counter to order the lady behind the counter was multitasking so she kindly asked me to wait and said shed be with me soon which I appreciated since someplaces dont even acknowledge you when youre at the register.Ordered an iced latte with oatmilk.Flavor was good, not bitter at all but rather very smooth. I maybe waited 2 minutes? The barrista was very fast to have my drink ready.Decor inside is nice, fairly dark and modern. Relaxing vibes for sure.5/5 recommend5/5 quality and taste of drink5/5 service.
I love this location and the vanilla lattes are always great. The cashier girl today was super rude though! There was a line of customers and she was watching videos on her phone with some friends. Then she was super rude to the guy in front of me. Can I get my latte without the drama?
Nice place friendly environment and its nice to see a business that doesnt force there employees to wear masks
Their coffee is great, and the baked goods are very interesting and tasty! Also the vibes are ✨immaculate✨.
Super friendly staff and amazing coffee. The coffee beans they use for espresso was delicious. The iced lattes we got werent overly sweet either, which is a huge plus. I was incredibly grateful they had so many options for milk alternatives. Beautiful sitting area outside of the coffee shop as well.
Super cute place, great coffee. Nice and smooth, not bitter. The Pearl area is wonderful as well. Great local atmosphere.
ORDERED HOT CHOCOLATE LATTE WAS BARELY WARM ..ASKED CASHIER 4 A HOT 1..YOUNG LADY WIT GLASSES MAKING DRINKS WEARING SNAKE EARRINGS GAVE ME A LOOK ROLLED HER EYES & SLAMMED DRINK IN TRASH.....WOW ! I APOLOGIZED 2 Cashier LET HER KNW BOUT DISPLAY PUT ON 4 ME, SHE APOLOGIZED...SAID, SHE WISHES SHE CLD MAKE DRINK 4 ME... Local Coffee ..U HAVE LOST A REGULAR CUSTOMER..PERHAPS WE CLD ALL DO BETTER In THIS AWFUL WORLD WE LIVE IN THESE DAYS !
Alright, but the selection is not much. Not a big selection on decaf items. The woman taking orders promised shed give me a decaf drink. When i drank it, it absolutely was not decaf. I have a bad reaction to caffeine. I was not happy
I am a tea person so I ordered earl grey tea and ended up getting green tea. So she didn’t listen what i was ordering. Then they told me they don’t have earl grey tea. What kind of coffee place don’t have earl grey. Anyway i ended up ordering black tea and a bagel. Again, they said they are out of cream cheese. Tea had no taste no flavor. I will go back to Starbucks.
Try a decaf malted hot cocoTheyre gooooooood
My daughter and I were just here a few minutes ago and the cashier was so wonderful I had to boast about how amazing and fast the service was! The cashier was so sweet and we will definitely be coming back!
Great coffee and the pearl is always a nice environment. Solid spot for tinder dates or business meetings. You cant go wrong.
As usual loud, over-the-top baristas. Seem necessary to coffee shop owners? Rather cold and uncomfortable the few but each time Ive been here. Again, as with most businesses owners, the question is, why not to take the extra step to diffuse air instead of direct gusts.
The Dirty Dreamsicle is great. That is all.
Lately, I feel like many coffee shops just cant get the hang of making a good matcha latte. That is not the case here. Local whisks the matcha powder down fine enough so it doesnt clump in the drink and overall the flavor was very balanced, not too sweet at all. Bravo!
Chai Tea Iced latte was so good, and they give military discount for my MILITARY folks!I love the atmosphere its very inviting and very pretty to look at and walk into...(see in the photo)Theres a play area where they do story time for kids! So thats very inviting to get your coffee at Local and sit outside for story time for your kids (on Saturdays for the story time).
The perfect latte. Overpriced, but absolutely delicious. Will come back anytime Im in the area. And who doesnt love some latte art? I give this place 2 thumbs up!
I hadnt been to local coffee since before it was Merit owned and was looking forward to finally checking it out as Local Coffee. I ordered a cup of coffee with a little bit of half and half and what I got is water with half and half. It literally tasted worse than McDonalds coffee and was essentially translucent in color. So gross and so disappointing. Maybe that was an isolated incident, but what a terrible first impression and lack of attention to quality.
I paid $6 for a teeny weeny maybe 6 oz latte. There was so much grit in it I threw half of it away. I also bought a bag of coffee and ask them to grind it for a French press, which is coarse ground. I thought the bag looked kind of small, and it was 250 grams which I now know is only 8 oz. There was no price so I didnt know till I checked out that it was $16 for half a pound of coffee! Then when I got it home and opened it it was ground to such a fine powder I cant even use it for French press or cold brew. $22 wasted
Lovely quaint coffee shop, I highly recommend the Cold Brew Float.
I enjoyed the environment of the coffee shop. The prices reasonable considering the location. The baristas excellent and friendly staff. You can sit indoors or enjoy the refreshing outdoor view with their seating.I only purchased malted cocoa which could have used more chocolate but the foam heart topping was perfect.
Not too bad but too little options. I would skip this place and go to Bakery Lorraine. They have lots more coffee and pastries options and more.
Ordered an espresso thinking that it would be at least decent because of the amount of people there. It was disgusting I could taste that they used cheap beans and they havent their machine sense they got it. If you need coffee I would advise going to Starbucks because the bakery across from out also is quite bad.
If you are looking for the best coffee in San Antonio, and really something that’s on par with the best the country has to offer, this is your spot.Outstanding. Make sure to grab a bag of beans if you’re into brewing at home because, and it goes without saying, they’re outstanding too.
Nice location and have good quality coffee to go with it.
We stopped in one morning during our weekend trip getaway. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to the table. My wife had the oven roasted potatoes. I had a bacon and egg croissant with a side of grits. The croissant was flaky and buttery. The grits were creamy but could use more seasoning. Nothing a little salt and pepper couldnt fix. They have lots of baked goods. My wife tried the sticky bun and really liked it. The waitstaff were really nice. We would definitely return.
Already great for a quick pick me up when hanging out at the Pearl
This is the best coffee in San Antonio, and possibly the best in Texas! Every time we stop by from Houston, we pick up a few bags of coffee to take home and make ourselves.
Adorable place. Decent coffee. Nothing spectacular though. But it is a super neat spot.
Love this place, I go anytime im near by
The place is called local coffee, but the only coffee they sell are from Portland and San Diego! Also $22 a bag for coffee that has no ‘ roasted on date‘
Coffee tasted weird, not enough ice in an iced latte. felt like i was bothering the barista and cashier when i asked for more ice. this place is whatever but has more whole coffee beans variety. fyi they aren’t part of merit coffee anymore and don’t expect to know why if you ask.
So, my wife and I got a kick out of the fact that this place was called Local Coffee so we had to try it.Dirty chai latte was alright but the iced salted caramel latte was insane! Perfect sweetness to compliment a rich full coffee flavor. The pastries are great too! Definitely recommend.
Service was really good. I ordered a latte but the taste was horrible it tasted more like a tea. But the service was great. The only reason I gave a 1 star is because of the taste.
Being from Portland Oregon area this reminded me of Our Pearl district but 1 major difference - this FELT like a community now just a place. Warmth friendly peolle - local coffee had great vibes and the barista gave me the perfect recommendations
Coffee is okay. The cups are small no sizes to choose from. The regular price is $4.25. Taste like McDonalds coffee. Chai tea is meh too. Soaked in creme little to no tea.
Cafe food and the scene at this place is excellent. Nice place to think about business. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, Ill be back. The prices are good for what you get.
Always a great spot for coffee.
Love the Keto-Auit coffee and nice pastry selection. My only disappointment is that the pastries are not keto.
Staff wear mask and are friendly. Good coffee. Inside and patio seating available.
Excellent coffee and good service. Plenty of outdoor seating. Wear a mask.
Chai latte my favorite!! Happy we stopped in and sat a bit before continuing our pursuit of fresh organic veggies! The variety of espresso, coffee, lattes, pastries and cafe seating inside and outside is very inviting. The floor to ceiling windows let in light gently and allow for great views of all that is going on in and around Local Coffee. Feels good💕
Every time we are at the Pearl market Founder coffee is a must! The vanilla latte with a pastry is a perfect combo!
Cafe food and the setting at this location is great. a favorite evening place of mine. the service here is attentive. prices were decent. makes me feel like i am back in sacramento.
Great coffee! I give them a heart just like they gave me!
A favorite spot for tasty Cafe food. One of the best spots in the area. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area.
Cute little place. Service was good. Coffee was decent enough. Hehe
Delicious coffee and tea! I dare you to try it!!!!
Love the coffee here its good and tasty.
Used to be my fave coffee place. The new oat milk is absolutely disgusting. They make it in house and have NO options for anyone who is nut-free and dairy free, which is the whole purpose of oat milk. If you’re looking for a good coffee with a non-dairy milk I would recommend Bakery Lorraine, Press, Mila Coffee, Berry to Bean, or Rosella to name a few. Please go back to your old milk options. I used to come here so often and now I am absolutely repulsed.
Cafe food and the atmosphere here is very good. came here on a friday i think. i look forward to going back again. prices were average for the menu.
I use to go here every other day! I loved their almond milk latte. Then they only made cashew milk lattes with their own recipe and it was so gross. I have not been back since!
Great group of people! They make sure you are taken care of!
I was able to stop at this location during a work trip to specifically to pick up some Elixir Specialty Coffee brews. I had an excellent time chatting with Kyle (barista on bar) during my visit!Local Coffee & Merit Roasting Co are doing it RIGHT!The Ethiopia Girma Eshetu pourover was delicious! And the Elixir brews were a new coffee experience in themselves! Texas is being represented very well. Keep it up yall!
Super friendly staff, next to great spot for tranquility. Hard to beat.
