My husband got the idea to try this place out. They did NOT disappoint!! The employees were polite! The food was amazing! I’m so glad the gentleman who took our order convinced me to try it before I took it to go! It was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I definitely recommend coming here!!! You will love it! I’m sorry the picture with the ice cream(Belgian chocolate)does this place no justice but I ate most majority of it before realizing I needed to show it. The single scoop is a pretty good amount! The King Leopold(the waffle in the picture) was the bomb.com!!! Thank u again u guys! I plan on coming back real soon!

I actually just returned from Belgium, and these waffles taste just like they do in Brussels or Ghent. The place does a good job trying to recreate the Belgian ambiance as well, although it’s a tall order when you don’t have the architecture or the traveler’s high helping you out. Either way, the waffles are large, seductive and delicious.

Very authentic atmosphere and great service! The spinach and chicken quiche was very tasty and delicious. The waffles and the homemade Clafoutis was also very good!

When I asked for my Belgian waffle to go the gentleman inside told me that if I had the time to stay, the Belgian waffles would taste the best fresh. I, thinking I would enjoy my waffle at home close by took it to go anyways. I got to my car, took one bite, and proceeded to eat the whole of my waffle sitting there. The taste was simply incredible. I will heed your advice next time Mr. waffle man.

Belgian Sweets is a brilliant little hole-in-the-wall eatery and dessert shop with a delightful cozy atmosphere. They carry an over the top selection. From sandwiches, quiches, coffees and teas to cakes, ice cream, truffles and of course, made to order fresh Belgian waffles topped any way you want em! I highly suggest the Belgian chocolate infused milk! If you like chocolate milk and like your chocolate dark, then this is quite possibly the best glass of milk youll ever drink!

An outstanding pâtisserie in a choice, calm residential/commercial area. Ive had the privilege of enjoying desserts from this location a few times now, and having convenient access to this level of artistry and mastery in the notoriously difficult art of pastry-making right here in North San Antonio is an absolute treat.Every dessert is baked fresh daily and many of their other menu offerings (liege waffles, etc) are made from scratch on the spot. The owner is extremely knowledgeable, loquacious, and holds himself and his creations to a very high standard. If you arent sure what you want, hell go above and beyond to make sure you are leaving his shop with the best recommendation.Come early come often. Even if you are coming from all the way out in Austin, this is worth the stop for breakfast, lunch, dessert, or all of the above.

Ive been to another Belgian place before but not like this. The plain waffle was a religious experience. Caramelized on the outside and chewy in the middle. SO flavorful. It stood on its own without toppings or syrup. The espresso and cookie were on point too. I will be returning!

I love this place! The Belgian Waffles are soooooo amazing and they are even delicious plain. The hot sandwiches are finger-licking good! I would drive from Katy just to have lunch here again. Yes!!! I went here with my bf. We totally loved this place. It was cozy and the people are friendly. Its also a lovely atmosphere and environment. They also have antique furniture that makes this place even more special. You can see the owner make the waffles in front of you. It takes time. Kind of like making a pizza. He makes it like an artform. And you can tell he works hard. Hes a cool guy. You can tell he makes it with love. We had the cookie butter waffle and the strawberries and cream waffle with chai lattes. Its such a good place to treat yourself and reminisce and look at the tourists and people pass in front of you with their huge windows. Recommend if your a tourist or not. 🙌👍

Tried a variety of their sweets and I have to say the cheesecake was my favorite! I’ve NEVER had ANYthing that even comes close to theirs! Looks very plain but trust me, the flavor is aaalllll there!! Top of the line for sure.

Food is good. I ordered (to go) a slice of cheesecake and #1. Waited almost 20 minutes but they were sort of busy but not insanely busy. Cheesecake was really good! Waffle was burnt on the bottom so when it was presented I wasn’t expecting the burnt taste. Bummer!

The waffles here really do taste authentic and always served hot and fresh. Ice cream and whipped cream are homemade and both are excellnt compliments to the waffles. Customer service is awesome and just an overall great experience. Highly recommend.

The waffle itself was good by itself. However, It was different than a Belgian waffle that I had in Belgium but it was close. The difference is the outside isnt sticky. Its like sugar pockets inside of the waffle. It was also more expensive.

This local gem is fantastic! The kind owner gave us the complete tour of his obvious pride and joy, explaining how all his Belgian specialties were made in house daily, excluding the chocolates which were purchased from Belgian artisan chocolatiers. Spectacular service and the panini was absolutely mouthwatering.

It was okay.. the apple was too overpowering. Maybe if we get it plain it would be better.

Wanted to review with good pictures, but couldn’t wait to eat. Homemade cheesecake, coffees and paninis (croques) are delicious! Glad to have this little gem that’s obviously run with Belgian authenticity and owner pride. We’ll be back...again.

Absolutely delicious true Belgian Liege type waffle! Crispy, chewy...it has a distinct and delicious taste compared to the standard waffle. I customized and got one with Nutella and whipped cream along with a hazelnut cafe au lait. The 2 things total costed $15 which is a bit much in my opinion buuut I get its a speciality type waffle made using an 18th century recipe and they make it fresh for you (it takes 8 minutes to prepare). I think its one of those places you have to try at least once. They also offer ice creams, gourmet old world chocolates, crème brulés and some other drinks and desserts. Decor/ambiance is vintage-y (?) which my husband found a bit grimey and I found charming haha.

Their Belgian waffles are downright amazing and so authentic you could literally imagine youre standing on a street in Brussels. They take a while, but are worth the wait.I will say the lines tend to get LONG, but being right around the corner from the Alamo I suppose thats to be expected. One major disappointment was that I went in one night with my mouth watering for a late-night snack and was told they were out of waffles. They had chocolates and many other bonbons that I could have enjoyed, but at that moment, I was craving a waffle and couldnt get one. As that was a one-time incident, however, I have still given them 5 stars.

When we are in San Antonio we always make a stop here. Their Belgium walffles are the best! The cheesecake is one of the best I’ve ever had. Pretty much everything is such high good quality treats. Don’t hesitate to stop in and give it a try. I wish you all had a spot in Houston, TX.

I now know what a true Belgian Waffle is and tastes like. You dont need syrup...they taste amazing just the way they come: sweet and toasty outside and super fluffy inside and tastes like what I would imagine Jesus waffles would taste like...heaven. You must do yourself a favor and try these waffles. Their chocolates are super delightful too...kinda pricey but your getting legit chocolate so its worth a try at least once. I need to go back to try their home made ice cream. I imagine its amazing.

This was a great place to stop for a treat on a hot day. We got there homemade icecream and. Chocolate covered strawberries. Both were so good. The staff were so nice. The decor was pretty cool to look at and read. What a neat and yummy place

I got a waffle with chocolate ice cream and bananas. It was fantastic. Super authentic, not too sweet, but very flavorful. The shop has a fun atmosphere with good music!

I had seen this place walking around before but finally had a chance to try it out! Very authentic food and tasted amazing! The panini is on point! Next time going to try the waffles. They even speak French there so good for practice if you need it!

Wonderful little gem of a shop in the middle of down town you could easily miss, but Im so glad I didnt. Wonderful desserts, good place to bring a date. Lots of good memories here.

This place delivers exactly what the name implies, and does so exceptionally well. It has a very local, small mom-and-pop vibe. The staff was friendly and the food was flavorful, well prepared, and well presented. Try the plain waffle — the menu says they are good plain, and its true! The croque monsieur is a little heavy on the rosemary, but still quite good. The mocha is second-to-none.

Everything here is delicious! Ordered a Belgian hot chocolate and a couple regular truffles. The hot chocolate tastes like a liquid truffle and is made with actual chocolate. The truffles have the chocolate powder coating and they melt in your mouth. We always go here when we are in town.

Who would have thought I would find a place like this in Texas!If youre looking for that warm sweet, rich, slightly yeasty, and slightly chewy dough encased in a delicate layer of caramelized pearl sugar, then look no further.

After almost a week in San Antonio of good food after good food, we finally found THE gem. The Waffles are amazing and so fresh! You sit and there are antiques on display as you walk in. A few panels of the history of the chocolates and of Belgium. Its quaint and absolutely perfect for a quick sweet.

The food was excellent but the line to order and the estimated time for food was really long.I ordered just a scoop of strawberry ice cream and a mousse au chocolat and both were fabulous! I would highly recommend ordering something from the case because that was really fast.However, it seemed like everyone was ordering a waffle, which took a considerable amount of time. I heard the lady behind the counter tell a family it would be 15-20 minutes for their waffle. They looked delicious, but I didnt want to wait that long.This is definitely a place to stop by for dessert, just be prepared to stand in a bit of a line.

Not a Belgian sweet shop at all. We were suprised how they are using Belgian Chocolate Companys name and Belgian waffle making technique to sell their exorbitantly expensive Waffles. Their regular Waffle is priced at $6.95 which is outrageous. We lived in Belgium for 7 years and never ever we paid this much (always €1.5)for a waffle. Thats is daylight looting from innocent tourists and even localities. The place is quite rusty and their Coffee (Mocha) was so distasteful that i threw away almost all of it.Nothing against the owners but Coffee was really below par and Waffles should not be priced this much.

So so good. A must do in San Antonio. Try the Belgian chocolate ice cream and pair it a cafe creme. You wont regret it!

Perfect, perfect, perfect little find right off of the river walk, went our first time, loved it so much we came back again the next night. Waffles are unlike anything ever. Wish they had more locations all over Texas. Definitely will be back any time in SA.

If you visit San Antonio, you have to stop here! My wife and I ordered the Nutella version of their waffle and asked for strawberries instead of bananas and fresh whipped cream - it was AMAZING!!! Good portion size, nice people and a cool atmosphere with nice jams! There are many options to choose; pretty sure whatever you choose you will enjoy!

Great place! Had the LA Dame Blanche which is a waffle with ice cream and it was amazing! The grenadine is a very refreshing drink as well. I definitely recommend this place

My first time here and was expecting a lot more. The seat area is very short. Arrived 5pm and I wanted decaf coffee. They dont had. The regular coffee is too strong. We asked 3 times to get one ice cream. The cheese cake on the menu sounds good but no tasty. I ordered a waffle ($11.75) but the time the waffle was around (30 minutes later) we were ready to leave. The place wasnt even full. Priced.

My favorite place in San Antonio. This hidden gem has authentic Belgium waffles and they are always delicious. The whole menu is made from scratch and the care the owner puts in can be found in the quality of the food. Love his place.

What a find! Without a doubt the best and most authentic Belgian waffles weve had outside of Belgium. We are here visiting some friends in Austin for a few days and after eating our way through that town, they took us to San Antonio for a day trip.Said they were addicted to the cheesecake and the homemade speculoos ice cream they do here, but also said they serve authentic waffles. As Belgians we had to see that for ourselves, we were doubtful, we havent had a true Belgian waffle in the United States except for one place in New York City. But this little Texas shop nails it!! They do true Liege waffles just like home.

I was born and raised in Belgium, and theres nothing about this place that feels Belgian. Not the food, not the atmosphere, nothing really. Maybe the chocolates but I didnt try those.

Very tasty waffles! Even the plain waffle alone makes for a snack to eat slowly, every bit is charged with a toasty caramel flavor and a chewy dough in the middle.

I visited this awesome bakery 4 times in 3 days on a recent trip. The owners were friendly and obviously experienced. While the vanilla ice cream was breyers, the homemade ice cream was amazing and the waffles worth the price. Try this place!

Best cheesecake I ever ate in my life!!! Visiting my little Sis here in SA and she insisted on taking me to this place, said it was her fave spot for dessert and nothing even comes close here. Im normally not a big dessert person like she is but its my Sis so I wouldnt even think to say no, but she knows Im not big into sweets, so I wasnt expecting much really. But WOW, OMG, apparently I never had a proper cheesecake before. I didnt know. Wow, I really didnt know ! Shes laughing at me now watching me type this bc me, the Big Sis w/o the sweet tooth, will be dragging my little Sis who has the sweet tooth, back to this amazing little shop again tomorrow before I leave.

The waffles were good but service was terrible. The manager was down right rude to customers and employees. The female cashier was also rude when we were trying to let her know there was a roach in the chocolates. A bunch of people came in and left disgusted after seeing the roaches in the food.

Love this place!! I tried the blueberry Clafoutis based on the recommendation of the cashier. It was amazing, tasted just like a blueberry muffin but in custard/pie form! Took home some specialty chocolates to enjoy later, I highly recommend trying this place out!

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and music, we love this place!!! Wish we had one of these back home. Were here in San Antonio for the first time visiting friends for the weekend, and they said this place is a must. Wound up coming back here 3 times in 3 days, everything is just super delicious. Wed happily come yet again tomorrow and go 4 for 4, but we leave tomorrow, and theyre closed Monday anyway it seems. But absolutely the best Homemade Cheesecake we ever ate ! I normally dont even care for cheesecake that much but theirs was something special. Best waffles we ever ate, and I mean ever, as in my whole life, anywhere, period, end of story ! (Fraises and Crème / Strawberries and homemade whipped cream was my personal fave, their whipped cream is really homemade and tastes that way, and I could eat it by the bowlful all by itself if they would serve it like that ! This place is really a one-of-a-kind, a true gem. Cant beat a place thats got Natalie Merchant and Damian Rice blaring in the background, combined with some truly awesome homemade desserts. They were super busy each time we were there and probably couldve used more help/staff for the kind of crowds they had, but the people who were working there seemed very capable and professional. Its a nice change to see real adults working a store like this instead of like most place these days where everything is staffed by a bunch of teenagers. Nothing against teens but you all know what I mean. On our first time ordering the menu felt a bit overwhelming and theres a lot of French language going on, but the man running the store was very nice and very helpful in patiently explaining everything to us. It all made for a great experience worth writing about .

Absolutely loved this place, the Belgium waffles (which are true Belgium waffles as opposed to the Americanized version) are divine. Additionally, the decor is all authentic 18th century pieces which is really lovely.

The Speculoos waffles are so good, but the aroma of deliciousness fills the air when they are cooking.The cold beverage Grenadine is made with regular water. Not seltzer water. Which is good for people like me with asthma. The drink is the size of a small cup.
