They were contracted by home depot, who may have been at fault themselves for not providing me the contract, but that doesnt excuse their installers behavior.2 men arrive at our home, no call ahead as a courtesy anything like that, show up, and I greet them and they say nothing back to me. From the get go I am nervous about the two people doing my install since they dont introduce themselves or say anything to me after greeting them.Soon after I learn why, they speak very limited English and can barely communicate about concerns, and theres A LOT of concerns afterwards. They have to have their front office over the phone talk to me about problems.Problem #1: They claim my carpet is full of pet urine and animal feces. This was 100% dramatized as they didnt want to haul old carpet away. There was maybe one damp patch of carpet from the hall way and the installer used this as an excuse to decline hauling the carpet away entirely.I was never informed that my carpet had to be in good condition by home depot to be hauled away, and thats probably home depots fault. Be warned though, if you do have pet hair in your carpet, if its wet or damp or damaged, theyll not take it for you even if you have an agreement with home depot for free haul away. However here is the kicker, my father shows up and communicates as best he can with one of the installers (the other installer didnt say one word throughout the entire job.)My father tries to reason with him that the carpet isnt so bad, and that he can just pop it in his van and call it a day.The installer sits there, tells my father I am not going to haul that (expletive) away it will smell up my van you can put it in you car. This is on video by the way, out of respect for the mans privacy I am not going to post him saying this on this review though, although he deserves a swift reprimand for his language and behavior. Then the front office says theyll discuss the issue with home depot.Problem #2: They tell me they wont proceed any further because there could be asbestos in my flooring under the tack strips because its an older home.Alright thats a health concern and reasonable enough, but heres the problem: My whole house is covered in the same flooring and tack strips, and they ripped up every bit of my carpet and left a mess before even telling me about this test being required.Totally unprofessional to pull out all of my carpet, then tell me they cant haul away my carpet, they cant finish installing because it needs to be tested for asbestos, and that I have to pay for the asbestos testing from a professional lab and send in samples on my own and only then when I meet their criteria will they proceed. If you see old flooring in my hallway, you think my carpet is too old and you wont be able to haul it out, you pull up some and you see potential asbestos testing that needs to be done, you tell me then and there you dont rip up my entire house then tell me you cant proceed.I even made it easy on these people by moving all of my furniture with my girlfriend on my own and they have the audacity to treat me like this with no offer of assistance and with no professionalism whatsoever. They tell me to deal with home depot if I have a problem, and let me tell you I did I got my money back alright. These people left my old carpet in my driveway despite the haul away being apart of the deal with home depot and left my house entirely torn up without installing my carpet until I could get an asbestos test out of my own pocket.I figure they pulled the trigger on the asbestos claim because I saw no cleaning implements in their van to clean up the mess on the pre-existing tile as well but I cant prove that so Im just sticking to the facts in my dealing with them.Maybe some of their crews are ok, but whatever crew they sent me, there couldnt have been a worse installation job performed, or should I say failed to perform.Steer clear of these people and find someone more reputable.
