Friendly staff. And very helpful. Recently purchased a Bonafide SS127 and on my first trip out with the kayak my seat broke. They have been very helpful in getting me a replacement under warranty. Will update on the outcome.

Nothing bad about the store..its great and has a lot of stuff you cant find anywhere else.Prior to my arrival (07/08/2020) I looked at the website and tried calling to see if they were open. No answer at phone, and google maps along with the website states that they are.I traveled a good distance to get there only to be greated with a sign outside stating curbside pickup only.I would suggest this be updated stating the current circumstances wherever needed to prevent others from doing the same as me. This will not deter me from visiting again, however it could have been prevented by just answering the phone, or updating the website.

Only store in the area with this many kayaks and accessories. Although obviously a bit low on stock, they still have enough inventory to spend way too much money here 😉.

I got a great deal on a used kayak at this store. The staff were helpful. They were very helpful by phone. I was surprised that the store was so small. Staff were low key and the main guy that helped me in the store today was not as knowledgeable about the kayak that he was selling me as I expected. Still, I liked this much better than shopping at a big box sporting goods store.

Although the shop was curbside only ACk was able to quickly order a Hobie Outback for me. Very knowledgeable staff.

Fantastic, we are long-standing customers! First trip into the store was in 2013. We were in the process of selling our boat and purchasing a kayak. I felt sorry for the guys in the store ‘cause after several trips and a million questions we still could not make up our minds as to which kayak we wanted. We finally decided on a HOBIE PA14. The amazing part of this was that at no point did any of the staff try to just sell us something. They continued to answer questions which ultimately lead to our decision! The store manager at the time was getting ready for a fishing tournament in the Bahamas, so of course my husband decided that he had to have absolutely everything on his kayak that the store manager had on his. That began began our long term patronage of Austin Canoe and Kayak.Our latest visit being last week. I don’t think they have a store in Florida so now I’ll be using their website. I hope they have free shipping!

The staff here was super helpful. We love our new kayak.

One employee was super helpful, the other was freaking worthless, I said my model of my kayak and need scupper plugs he said its one of thosepointing at the section with scupper plugs, we sell a lot of mediums. Then he went and just sat down. The other employer how ever, took the scupper plugs to the back where they have my brand and model and measured them for me, so thanks for the help. I will return.

Large variety of kayaks to test and try out and large variety and length of paddles made up of all different types of materials to test out and knowledgeable staff to tell you the pros and cons of each kayak and paddle. Great selection of high end kayaks, paddleboards and canoes. Customer service is not over the top and the staff is very very very laid back. No pressure sales here. Prices tend to be about 15 to 20% higher on most things. Only place to buy Hobie....

I purchased a Dakota lithium 20 amp battery. I believe it is supplied by yak gear. After only four months, one of the post completely corroded away. This happened despite being kept in the protective bag that came with the battery.The guys at ACK filed a warranty claim for me, but unfortunately it was denied by yak gear. They said that the warranty did not cover moist environments. I assumed that a moist environment was implied with all kayak equipment.The guys at ACK said that they were surprised that yak gear didn’t offer any type of credit. Despite being under no obligation to do so, the manager at ACK decided to make it right. He credited my original purchase and set me up with a new battery from another manufacturer. He took 100% of the loss from the defective battery, despite the complete lack of support from yak gear.I very much appreciate the consistent service and expertise from the manager and employees of ACK. Their actions ensured that not only will I use them for every possible purchase, I will recommend them to anyone who is in the market for kayaks and equipment. Good work guys. Thanks.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered an Advanced Elements inflatable kayak. When it arrived, it was missing a thing called the Thwart. Which is basically a foot rest that also braces the sides. No big deal one would think, one would be wrong. I ended up in a circular conversation with three people. The last person wanted me to send a picture showing the part was missing. In other words, I was supposed to inflate my kayak, I guess, and point to where the thwart should be. As if that proves anything. How would anyone know if it was truly missing or if I had set it aside and was trying to get an extra one for free. Truly one of the dumbest things I have ever been asked to do. Last Monday, I called Advanced Elements direct. The call lasted less than two minutes. He said, just forward me your proof of purchase and Ill get one out. No stupid photo required. Wednesday it arrived, it was that simple. My advice, by all means buy an Advanced Elements product, but buy it from someone else.

Love ACK. Ive had my Hobies for over three years. Seems like they are on the computers the last couple of visits.

I placed an order for two Kayaks and two C-tugs. The items had free shipping but I was concerned about possible damage. I contacted customer service and had the items transferred to my local store. It took two weeks and half a dozen phone calls to get the items. The local store didnt let me know they had arrived. One Kayak was still damaged in the process.

Complete absence of customer service. I came in ready to buy a kayak and was ignored by 3 staff members. One was helping someone else, but its still not that hard to acknowledge your customers. The other two came out of the back, looked at me, then walked away. Yall dont want my money? Cool. You just let 3 grand walk out of your store and into someone elses.

I recently bought a Classic Accesories 9 inflatable one man pontoon. I needed to accessorize this thing for a fish finder. I went there mid afternoon. There was one guy assisting everyone. It was a Friday, and he was quite busy. So, I patiently waited asking questions between calls. He told me they had a return policy, because they didnt sell those boats, it was really hard to gauge. Longer story short... he sold me a Hobie ram ball attachment and an APMS Ram arm for something else. They both fit amazing. Honestly, the best experience Ive had walking into a specialty shop not knowing even beginner level(learning as I go). Very pleased, will return again, with a lot more money! Dang!

Bought a brand new hobie outback with the 180 mirage used the boat twice had a problem with the rutter and leaking from one of hobies seals they submitted it multiple times to hobie which in return said i needed to pay for the part replacement on the boat mind you ive had it 3 months and been in the water twice well austin ACK took it upon themselves to pay for all repairs and labor what a great company they will always continue to have my buisness highly recommended.Had a few issues with some work done on an expencive kayak. Spoke with management. Grant, was awesome to work with, although the damage was irreversible. It does what It is supposed to the part was just installed really crooked. Spoke with Grant he worked on a solution immediately, Austin kayak fixed the issue quickly and fairly. I will continue to shop her and recommend them for any kayak or fishing needs.
