H.I.S. Automotive is a great place to take your car for service. They were very nice and professional. They checked my car out and told me to take it back to Volvo to be fixed since it might still be under warranty. Any time I need work done in the future I wont hesitate to take it to H.I.S Automotive. Great honest people.

Took my teenagers care to HIS after I drove it and could feel all sorts of issues in the front wheels. I got a bid to replace the wheel bearings a couple other issues they found. Price seemed reasonable so I approved the work. After they got in there they found another issue and quoted me the part cost but didnt charge me more labor since they were already in there. When I picked up the car the extended cost was less than the quoted cost and the car runs as smooth as the day it was new.

I had them look at a car I was going to buy before I purchased it and they did. I got the review of what they found wrong and what was still fine. I decided to get an estimate of the repairs and they told me a fairly low number. When I scheduled the appointment to get two of the repairs done my estimate was still fairly low and manageable. When I dropped my car of the man in the front was rude and not welcoming. The appointment wasn’t scheduled in the correct name even though when I scheduled it I gave them my name and information. Then once I returned home I got a text message saying my repairs were going to be almost $1,000 and when I called to see why they said the person who looked up my estimate “looked the wrong thing up” which doesn’t make sense to me since they scheduled the appointment for the same thing they looked up.

Excellent place to do business. People were friendly, DJ and Dave are great. took care of every need of mine in a timely manner and performed high quality work on my Cadillac. Filled my coolant tank that was a gallon low, and located the leak, and FIXED the leak that I didnt even mention free of charge because it was a loose hose. This business earned my 5 stars all day long, will absolutely be using H.I.S automotive and recommending them to everyone I meet that needs automotive services in southern Oregon, as the prices are also very fair and straight forward. Your money will be well spent here, hands down!

Needed work done to my valves. I was originally given a shorter time frame of completion than what was actually fulfilled, but was not due to shop negligence. Good repair. Communication could use some work, but really my only complaint. They assisted me with transportation to and from the shop while my vehicle was inoperable. I will be going back for exhaust work. DJ was pleasant to do business with and their rates were more than fair 👍

Me car were burning oil and eating gas like crazy. They did an excellent job at a decent price. I went from 13 miles to the gallon to 26. And its no burning oil. Very happy with the service I got there, and will defo be going back.

Great place to go for your car or truck!

I brought my car in to them because it wouldnt start. car scan was free. They charged me a little over $100 to take the timing cover off to check the timing but never took off the lower cover so theres no way that they could have check the timing (lied to me). then they charged me over $150 for a valve realignment. when they took off the 6 bolts and the valve cover they immediately saw that all intake valves were bent and didnt have to do anything more (less then 5 mins for over $150). To top it all off the mechanic pulled my coil pack out without unplugging it and damaged my wiring harness and coil pack itself. when i talked to the foremen he wouldnt change the price at all, even started mocking me with do you work for free. I advise anyone who needs automotive help to find it else ware or risk getting conned by a shady company.since i cant respond to a owner message, i was charge for timing check (which wasnt done) and a valve realignment (where you only took the cover off) and you ended up damaging my wiring harness. when we saw that you barely did anything and didnt fully do what you were charging for we tried to negotiate a more fair payment you simply started mocking me. so dont come at me with you agreed to it when you didnt do the work and and still wanted full payment.

The work they did was top notch. I had a break job done and they work better than when it was brand new. Because of the parts that they received, it took longer than they originally stated. The shop was in constant contact with me when the issue was discovered and I had options to choose from to make everything work for me. I will be using them anytime I need car work done..

I had such a bad experience so long ago and I will forever give them 0 stars. I have steered many friends and family clear from going here. I had my vehicle towed to their shop, only to have the issue not fixed. They had my car for over a month! I went in upset, demanding my car back and they refused to give me my keys until I paid them in full, which was hundreds. In the mean time they blew my speakers probably because I went in there upset. I had it towed to Lithia of all places who fixed it that day for under $100.

They picked up my vehicle, serviced it and returned it to me while I worked! Thanks Dave for the extra things you do to take care of your customers.

Our family has taken all our vehicles here for quite awhile. I had a vehicle that began having problems stalling during operation. I took it in they gave me a diagnosis and a quote. I had them make the repair and am very satisfied with the work they did that restored my trust in my vehicle and was done below what I was quoted. I absolutely recommend this business.

Dj the front desk worker was extremely rude to my father when we brought my car to be diagnosed. We explained that we wanted the car diagnosed and asked if it could be done today since my dad was going back to California and needed it to be done. We never got a call for the next 24hrs. We came back same time the next day and just asked for the keys back since he was leaving in the next hour back to Cali and the whole time he had an attitude. He have us the keys and we politely asked if they had looked at the vehicle at all or even test drove it. He said “no we barely have time and that thing barely runs anyway” I completely understand not having time but why the need to say it barely runs anyway in a snarky attitude. Yeah we know, that’s why we brought it to you.This review and rating only pertains to DJ and his attitude and customer service. I had no experiences with the mechanics or anyone else.

Because I know the people who own it and they are Honest people who wont tell you that you need work on your vehicle if you dont. They are not rip offs

They had my previous review removed somehow!!!Forget this place. The kid that works the front desk is so rude and insulting. I went in to ask a simple question about upgrading an alternater, and he turned it into such a demeaning, the customer is such an idiot experience, that I immediately walked out.

I am now going to take my vehicles to H.I.S. indefinitely. By far the quickest and best service I have found in town. I have used other large and small businesses for oil changes and repairs, but H.I.S. shines in almost every way. Great people and great service.

(Updated Review)The Good:H.I.S. Automotive staff were all very nice people. They fixed the master cylinder on our car for us at a fair price and did a good job. They also figured out our car was having a hard time starting was due to the wrong size battery being installed. So we bought a new battery that they had recommended and now our car always starts no problem. Thank you for the repairs! :)The Bad:1) Slow services: It took around 2 weeks for them to repair one part.2) Poor communication: During the several weeks the car was in the shop they only ever called us for an update once.3) Not sure how honest they are: They told us our break pads were down to 10% and all needed replaced. But we checked the breaks with another shop and they said the front pads were still good at 70%, that only the back pads needed replaced.H.I.S Automotive also “accidentally” quoted us $300 too much for the repair. But thankfully when we questioned them on the price, they double checked it and got it cleared up. (could have truly been an accident but still sketchy.)Thank you again for the repairs, I hope this review helps you to continue to improve your business in the future.

My wife and I were new to the community and were looking for someone to service my diesel truck and her Honda. H.I.S. did a top quality job servicing both vehicles after our cross country move. The people there are very friendly and answer every question that you might have about your vehicle. We are talking with them about swapping out the transmission on our 62 VW ragtop. Thats how impressed we were after just one trip. We believe they did a great job for us and they will do a great job for you.

I had been taking my car and truck to the dealership but am glad I found H.I.S. as they have proven to be more knowledgable, courteous and committed to doing a good job. In fact they had to remedy a situation which had been caused by the dealership which involved missing parts. There are a lot of places to take your vehicles but I recommend H.I.S. as they go out of their way to make sure a customer is happy with their work.

My father took his vehicle in to have some work done. He dropped the car off at 10:00 am, and was told it would be ready by no later then 2:00 pm, when he went to pick it up, they told him it wouldnt be ready until 5:00 or 5:30 pm or even the next day. He said he had been told the car would be ready by 2:00 and their excuse was someone else had brought their car in to have the headlight bulbs replaced, but they would have his car ready by the next day, then told him it was going to cost him $475 instead of the $250 that he had been quoted over the phone (my father bought and paid for his own parts, they agreed to install them for him). When he pointed out that he had been quoted $250 over the phone, the guy at the front counter said Well, you shouldnt call and ask for quotes over the phone then if youre not going to like the price we set.

Once again, I have been a proud customer of H.I.S for over two years. I seem to frequently wait till my vehicle problems are immediate before calling them .They always patiently and carefully listen to my problem. Following my description of my problem, they get my vehicle in quickly for needed follow on diagnosis and repair....if required. They are an honest repair shop and do just what is needed only. I have had no problems with their repairs to my car and diesel truck. Their pricing is very reasonable and they even give gift coupons for returning customer service discounts. Wow! They are a very pleasant and great communicating staff answering all questions and super at notifications by phone or text. My first choice for repairs and service of all our vehicles. Ive been going to H.I.S. for years now and its always great. The employees are always friendly and knowledgeable. They answer any questions I have and usually tell me more than I understand but its great. After hearing stories from my friends and the places theyve gone to get their cars worked on, I dont plan on ever going anywhere else.

Dave and the team over at HIS are good at what they do. They did lots of solid work on my Subaru Outback and were easy to do business with. They sent someone to get me a ride to the shop on a few occasions and they even checked with me that the repairs were done right a few days after service. I recommend them and trust them with my car. Five stars for people doing great work.

My car was towed to HIS Automotive while I was out of town and they were so great! They made sure to call me before doing anything to my car, had great communication and finished so quickly. This the best auto shop I’ve been to in Roseburg. I was working on a difficult random misfire going up steep hills on my older Chevy for months. I had replaced all the parts I could and was at the point where I needed it properly diagnosed with equipment and skill past what I have. Took it to the Chevy dealer, huge waste of time and money with zero results. Brought my rig here, and they did full diagnostic troubleshooting. Unlike other shops, these guys actually were interested in what I had to say regarding what the symptoms are and what I’ve done, what I’ve noticed. That’s huge, as it shows they are gathering as much info as they can to help them get it fixed as efficiently as possible. They narrowed the issue down to a couple things, fixed a couple other things I had missed, and ultimately replaced my intake gaskets to fully fix the problem. They test drove it up a hill to make sure it was fixed. They were extremely professional throughout the entire process, informative, and charged a very reasonable rate for the repair. Finally found an auto shop I trust. I’ll be back and refer all my friends to this place.

Great shop. I usually fix my own stuff, but needed an ac recharge. They went above and beyond fixing a different problem to get my ac to work. Highly recommended!

Best mechanics in Roseburg. Price is great. Work is done well. And they dont beat around the bush about stuff. They dont try to upsell you. If they see something wrong they tell you, but they dont shove it down your throat until you choke on it like some other places around here.

I was in Roseburg, from Seattle, for a 4 day dog show. My cars water pump went out on Thursday. I was able to drive it to H.I.S. Friday afternoon. Michelle was very nice and understood I needed my car back as early as possible on Monday so I could return home. The mechanic was able to rapidly diagnose my problem. Michelle ordered the parts to be received and then installed on Monday morning.As promised my car was ready to go just before noon on Monday and I was able to drive it home. The total bill even came in $40 under their high estimate. I was very appreciative on H.I.S. focus of getting my vehicle fixed and me on the road home. Hope I never break down in Roseburg again, but if I do at least I know where to go for repairs.

I had the pleasure of taking my car to the great mechanics of HIS auto shop. This car had been sitting for over a year, it used to overheat and it seemed to be in pretty rough shape. I was worried that it would cost an arm and a leg to get it fully operational but luckily these mechanics are honest. They told me everything was actually in decent shape. They reconnected a hose, changed the oil and topped off all the fluids. I couldnt believe thats all it needed, they could have told me anything and I would have believed it, since the car hasnt been ran in so long. Luckily for me, these mechanics truly have Honesty, Integrity and Service. They also noticed there was a recall on my airbags and not only did they inform me about it, they called all around town to find a dealership that had them in stock. These guys will go above and beyond for their customers. I will recommend HIS auto shop to everyone I know.

My truck broke down as I was passing through Roseburg Oregon on my way to Gulf Shores Al, I was lucky to find HIS. Im an old mechanic and know when someone is giving me a story, that was not the case here. Starting with DJ the service writer and Tim the mechanic who did the work on my truck and Dave the owner, all were fantastic and all very experienced and know what theyre talking about. To make a long story short I left their shop and drove 3000 more miles without any troubles.

Cant say enough GREAT things about this business. Over the top customer service as well as mechanical work done on my vehicles. Had me arrested for trying to get my cat out of my car. Lost my cat of five years because DJ is a petty punk. This place ruined my life. Go anywhere else. Apparently animals lives only matter during business hours. These people literally pushed me to a suicide attempt. They robbed me of a family member because I expected them to honor their previous promise of a free diagnosis because I was charged previously for a diagnosis they could not provide. Then after having me arrested and stealing my f5 savannah they threatened to have my vehicle illegally seized while slandering me because DJ believes a $100 diagnosis is worth ruining the life of a 24 year old girl and probably ending the life of a service animal considering he allowed his Pitt bull to chase and torment my cat while I was handcuffed for trying to get him. Absolute sociopath. No empathy, no compassion, no morals. H.I.S. Hateful. Insensitive. Sadistic.

This place has always been very friendly to me and explained what needed to be done and price..etc. My only concern was when my information about my car was not in there computer system. I was taken back by this..but fortunately it was down on a note book and I had receipts so it all worked out. I had to cancel an appointment due to a family emergency and they were cool about rescheduling the repair later without the hassle. Very happy about this place

Its the start of the new year and I started it just as I end it, recommending and using HIS Automotive! I live in Salem, OR and its worth the drive using their shop, Again, Ive just had a repair and oil change done at a great price on my 2007 Duramax and in 2017, Dave and DJ did outstanding work on my sons 2008 Jeep Sahara for less than a third of what a local dealership quoted me! Brought my 07 wrx sti in for some running issues and a bad transmission. They fixed the running issue within the first 3 days. However the next 2 months they had my car, they could not figure out what was wrong with the transmission and ended up charging me several hundred dollars worth of labor and a couple replacement parts it did not need and I had to go to the subaru dealership to actually get the issue solved in a reasonable amount of time.

Always friendly and efficient. They gave me an estimate and charged less not more like most places. I gave them a time parameter and they fit me in with time to spare. Never had any problems.

Amazing service and got us in fast! Will be going back again. Didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need done and were completely honest!

If your vehicle needs repair or routine maintenance I strongly recommend H.I.S. Automotive. I recently moved from Arizona to Roseburg. My truck is a 2002 low mileage vehicle. After several weeks in Roseburg it began to idle rough and even stalled at a traffic light. I called several places and decided to go to H.I.S. Automotive. The diagnostic test showed no issues so we decided to do a tune up. Although the truck ran better for a couple of days it started dying and the check engine light came on. I called DJ at H.I.S. Automotive who offered to tow the truck to his place of business at no cost. DJ indicated this is their way of doing business. This caught me by surprise because most other automotive repair shops would not do that. DJ did not charge for the second diagnostic test which revealed a problem. After the problem was fixed I was still uncomfortable with the performance of my truck and H.I.S. Automotive made an adjustment and added a fuel additive at no charge. On top of everything after a few days the owner Dave sent a text to find out how my truck was running offering more repairs at no charge. My truck is running better that eve and I highly recommend H.I.S. Automotive. With no charge for the tow back to H.I.S. automotive and the personal service by DJ and Dave I believe H.I.S. Automotive went above and beyond the level of service found at other automotive repair shops.

Very bad customer service. I was told by Michelle from the office to tow my van there had the driveline fixed. I told the mechanic to look before we unload it my van from the tow truck to make sure they can fix it. Yet the next next day, I was told to tow my van eslewher! Michelle had the guts to tell me to upgrade my tow service. It is 100 percent their fault that I have to waste my tow service! The owner did not bother to call back either. That is why I am leaving this review. I would never go back to them.

I would highly recommend this shop to everyone! They were quick to diagnose and fix the problem and they stayed within the quoted price. They were never pushy and didnt make me feel like I wasnt in control of what was happening to my vehicle.

Driving up to Portland from california car started to misfire this was late on christmas eve so started to really worry pulled off at roseburg first mechanic on list arrived 20 mins before they closed was treated with understanding and compassion ed the mechanic was just great quickly diagnosed burnt and arcing spark plug promptly ordered parts and replaced wires. It really was almost like a christmas miracle to us as 30 mins later they would have been closed and who knows what we would have done. Back on the road before we knew it car running smooth....thank you so much cant say enough good things.

We are out of towners and have had multiple interactions with HIS AUTOMOTIVE. The first was when my wife was visiting the area and had car issues. They took great care of her limited her worries and also kept me informed. Something of note is that they dont over promise showing experience with their suppliers which allows them to deliver on their promises. They stay ahead of the information curve with updates when there is a glitch keeping surprises to a minimum. I have never been disappointed in their quality and integrity. I recommend them without reservation!

BAIT AND SWITCH OPERATOR-Had agreed on services with front desk operator, who assured me work would be done soon and reliably. Calls me back following day to tell me to complete job he would need and added 1.5 hrs labor., this after doing some of the job.I came to pick car up and mentioned how disappointed I was with less than integrity bound service, especially after work /price had been agreed upon. He seemed to be disinterested in talking with a too bad sort of response. When I asked for my old parts, which I specifically asked be saved, I was told they were in the garbage.. POOR conduct, less than honest shop, STAY AWAY !

Headlights stopped working. D.J. gave me an estimate over the phone of $70 to diagnose. Found the problem to be a bad headlight control module which is no longer available. Dave, owner, was able to find a used one, removed excess jump wires installed by previous repair shops, and got things working correctly again. Friendly, knowledgeable service.
