Worst customer service ever. I have been trying to contact someone from the Finance department for about two weeks now, and every time, they would say, okay, let me transfer your call, and it will never get through. Well, today I called again and gave them my name and number so they could give me a call which they did; it was a guy from Finance who didn’t give me his name; he was vulgar while answering my question. I told him I’d be there tomorrow, and he just said okay bye and didn’t let me finish. I would have asked another question, but I guess he was swamped and couldnt get to all my questions. What a disappointment

Horrible service. Extremely pushy. They will do anything to force you to buy. Extremely annoying. The tactic is to keep pushing, forcing you to decide on the spot. They try to diverte your attention talking about personal things and casually dropping an extra fee. Do not recommend to anyone. Stay away.

Most terrible service I received today. Hyundai USA Advertising MSRP price is what you see what you paid. But not in Hilltop Hyundai. Markup $4000. After I shown the advertisement to the sale agent, the markup price drop to $1000. But the worst thing is the sale agent, Joe’l. Treat the customer very rude. I hope the Hyundai USA should put sometime to investigate why the sale agent in Hilltop Hyundai is very rude to treat the customer. Hey remember it is not the only Hyundai dealer in the Bay Area. Never advise anyone to buy from him.

Joel Arances was helpful but when push came to shove, the transparency wasnt there. He couldnt answer basic questions like, how much will this car cost and what do you make on commission from this purchase. Otherwise things moved a little slow for my taste, I wanted to buy the car yesterday 😂.

I have two cars from Hyundai. I brought in one car that from Genesis. They took a picture and have not done anything with it when they said they will contact over to Genesis. When Genesis was trying to get a hold of them, it goes over to voicemail! 3 associates from Genesis left voicemails, I left 3 voicemails no call backs!!When I went for a problem with my other vehicle, they said they will order parts for me for steering wheel issue. When I called back 2 weeks after, the person from services had no idea about changing parts. She said, she will contact someone from parts and let me know. I begged her to promise me to give me a call back and here I am... no response.People are nice to talk to, but dont expect anything other than an oil change and tire rotation.Btw they forgot to check tire pressures on my Genesis before after doing tire rotations and the tire pressure light came up so I had to fill them up myself hahaUPDATE 8/29/21: When they say they will contact you from parts and services, dont expect anything. Im ordering the part myself and go to the nearest shop to fix my issue. I had to go up there for an oil change, and AGAIN forgot to check the tire pressures so Im on my way to fill them up.

I called today 5/12 to ask some question regarding warranty on a used Ionic hybrid. I talked to a gentleman, forgot his name. He explained to me the warranty I will get as the 2nd owner. I did not understand because the warranty does not match the original warranty so i asked him for clarification. I then asked regarding the warranty for a dealer certified used car, he explained the difference briefly then hung up. I can tell by the sound of his voice that he was annoyed by my questions. Well I don’t know about the warranty that’s why I am asking...I called back to finish our conversation he pick up and hung up straight away.I am sorry but this not a way to deal with potential customer. I hope the management gives a better training to the employee.

This review/comment is for the Genesis Service Department, especially Nayeli, who responded immediately to a drive-up request regarding a new GV80 purchased out of state but with a minor issue.Nayeli was friendly and thorough in helping her Service technicians diagnosis the issue with a rubber gasket on the sunroof of my new GV80. Between the two, the issue was resolved and I was on my way in a very short time. Thank you Nayeli and your service technician for a fast and successful response!

Worst car experience ever. I was contacted by joel to buy a car. I let him know that our car had broken down and I needed a new one by Monday (it was Tuesday at this time). I was unable to go into the dealership though so he told me that I could do all the paperwork remotely and work out the terms then just come and get the car Monday. Throughout the week I send them all of our information, identifications, and paystubs. On Friday they pull our credit. Saturday rolls around and I ask him where the documents are. He informs me that he will get them to me when he comes in Sunday morning. Sunday rolls around and he ghosts me. Then he tells me I have to come in to get the estimate. I call him and he ignores my call. I sent him a message saying that we cant come in until we get the paperwork (we had to pay a family member to take us so we didnt want to waste our time and money if it wasnt a good fit). I told him that they already pulled our credit and had all of our documents so I needed the quote at least. He told me Monday We are open 10am-6pm for you to pick a Sonata Hybrid discuss options, and buy one. I gave them your information to have a pre-approval. To get your options, pick an exact car and discuss the options on it. YES I AM NOT HERE TO WASTE EACH OTHERS TIME. After this weekend, doing 5 deals, an appointment at the dealership is not wasting my time. These clients made a deal and took delivery. Fishing for estimated payments is not time well spent. I was crushed. We had told him exactly which car we wanted several times. This was our first experience buying a car from a dealership and it was almost our last if a salesman from the Hyundai in tracy and the Hyundai in Stockton didnt contact us about an hour after I got that text. They got me a quote for estimated payments in about ten minutes and we went to pick up a car an hour later. I advise you dont waste your time here and get help at another dealership nearby.

Impossible to get someone to answer the phone. Voicemails are never returned. My car was there for a month when estimated time was under two weeks. No loaner or rental reimbursement was offered despite it being a warranty repair. Communication overall was abysmal.

I never really leave reviews but this dealership deserves to a fair warning… Customer service here is terrible. I called their phone number to ask about car detailing and maintence but was rudely answered by a woman who clearly does not like her job. The conversation turned into a interogation about why I needed my car cleaned… I hung up because they clearly dont want anyone’s businessTLDR: Don’t do business here. Employees are rude.

I have a jammed glove compartment that will not open. I asked them for an estimate over the phone and they said $125 ...$270 if they had to replace the panel.I made an appointment and when they arrived they asked for $190. They managed to open the glove box but told me it would be $474 for parts and like $750 with labor included. That price is astronomical and outrageous. The guy at the desk said they he could knock off $50..still way too much. I opted NOT to have the glove box replaced.They had me write a $190 check and the only good thing was that I was able to get my CDs and insurance card and vehicle registration out of the glove box. When I returned to my car the glove box was closed again and I still couldnt open it. Clearly something is not right here.When I purchased the car in 2013 there was no spare tire in the trunk. They said something about too much weight.It seems like they only want your money. The car itself has not given me any major problems.

I read about the 2020 sonata hybrid and it had really good reviews so I called to see if they had any I could look at. They did and when I got there they basically went out back, pulled it off the truck, with all the plastic still on the car seats and protective film covering the instrument panel, and let me take it for a joy ride on my own. And Joel the manager sent me home without having to sit around and wait for all the financial. When I got home a few hours later he already sent me a quote with the numbers. If youre looking for fast, friendly service I highly recommend coming here.

I don’t normally write reviews but I wanted to share the reason we chose not to purchase our vehicle from this dealership in case it is helpful for management or others.My husband and I made an appointment to test drive a 2020 Santa Fe. We were working with Joe’l who was very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. The vehicle was priced well and we were ready to purchase. We planned on trading in our car and were passed to another gentleman named Zandro to conduct the valuation for the trade. This encounter is the reason this dealer lost our business.Zandro initially offered us $500 for our vehicle (2014 Ford Focus SE with 90,000 miles, in good condition). We had priced our car on KBB before we came, so we were well aware that was about $3,000 too low for a trade. Obviously we rejected this offer and let him know the lowest number we would accept. This gentleman proceeded to waste our time, mansplaining how car sales work and insisting we wouldn’t be able to get more from any other dealer because they would be taking a loss. I work in customer service and a lengthy explanation of your own business practices is almost never relevant to the customer. He was quite rude, uttering phrases like “What, you don’t believe me?” It quickly became a very unpleasant situation wherein we felt pressured to accept a truly ridiculous offer.I believe that because the Santa Fe was priced well, they were low-balling us on the trade in to make a higher profit off the transaction. This is poor business practice because the value of our car is not affected by the sale price of a new vehicle and a dealer should not advertise a sale price they can’t meet. In fairness, he did suggest that we move forward without the trade in. We were unwilling to do that because the Santa Fe was not so well-priced that it made up for the inconvenience of turning a normal single-transaction into multiple. Also, we were put off by the way we were treated. Who wants to do business with someone who has clearly just tried to take advantage of them? This salesman even said at one point “I can throw in a free tank of gas” as if they don’t normally do so when you purchase a new car here... Eventually he went upstairs to speak with his manager about a better offer but returned, after some time, with a falsified KBB valuation on our vehicle. At that point we walked out feeling like our time had been wasted by a dishonest car salesman.Just a couple of days later we made the trip out to Future Hyundai of Concord and our experience was night and day. We were able to interact with management directly at this location. All of the employees we spoke to were polite, transparent and easy to work with. We were offered $3,300 for the vehicle trade no problem. We also got a good price on the Santa Fe, ultimately making out better than we would have at Hanlees. Interestingly, the staff here have had several customers come to them with similar stories regarding Hanlees.Based on this experience, I would recommend that prospective buyers skip Hanlees and try Future Hyundai instead. I would also suggest that the management at Hanlees evaluate their practices. I’m not sure how saving a couple grand on a trade-in is more important than making a $30,000+ sale. We don’t know if this is a management issue or just one bad employee, but it’s too bad because Joe’l was excellent and we would have been happy to do business with him.

I went to Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai this morning to fix the recall issue on our car. This is my first time to use this service since my area doesnt have Hyundai services. I was shocked to see numerous of employees are not wearing the masks or doing the social distancing. Theyre putting each others life in dangerous during the pandemic. I see many signs to tell customers to please wear the masks. All customers I saw including myself wore the masks and doing the social distancing. If they expects customers to do that then they should do the same thing. Theyre also putting customers including myself lives in dangerous of getting exposed. Shame on you, Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai employees for failed to practice the safety and protect the customers and other employees!For the overall services, I would rate this service poorly because all other Hyundai dealers I went to are much better, professional, and thoughtful compared to this place. They didnt bother to wash my car like all other Hyundai dealers always wash their customers cars after doing the repair or maintained services. The worst part is when theyre done with doing the services on my car and they parked my car and other customers vehicles way too close to each other for me or anyone else to enter into our car. Really??? Thats is really rude and inconsiderate. That is not a positive customer experience from this place at all.Since this is my first time to use this service and I will not come again. I do not recommend this place for anyone.

Brought my Kona EV in for the mandatory safety recall and figured I would get the 15k maintenance done at the same time. On arrival I was told the 15k maintenance would cost about $600. I asked to see the details as that seemed strangely high and was shown an invoice including:-crank case inspection-oil + filter changeNeedless to say an EV doesn’t have these parts. When I pointed this out they removed these items, leaving an approximately $200 air filter change and “air conditioning smell inspection”. I politely declined.Beware with these folks, they don’t have your back, and they’re out to take advantage of you if you’re not paying attention.One additional note- while working on my car on a prior visit (also a safety recall) they had the car audio blasted to full volume in the shop(I was certain of this as I went to watch a video on my phone while sitting in the waiting area but it instead played via Bluetooth on the car stereo due to the proximity of the car)- fortunately they didn’t blow a speaker with their audio joyriding. Just another example of the regard with which they appear to hold for their customers.

Not the first car Ive bought in my life, and not my first Hyundai. The first part of dealing with Hanlees was pretty straight forward. Pick out a car, haggle a little bit, purchase the car at a good price.The second part of dealing with Hanlees, probably the most important, is the service of the vehicle. Nowadays I choose to have a dealer do regular maintenance and repair of a new, or under warranty vehicle. Getting my car serviced is like going to the Dentist. Its something I have to do, but dont look forward too. My experience at Hanlees service department, including my 2012 Sonata (not purchased here) and the present 2018 Sonata, has been: At least I dont have to look for another service department, because there has been absolutely no problems with any of the service, and the people working there have instilled complete confidence in me with their INTEGRITY! Thank you Hanlees!

Hyundai cant build enough Kona EVs to satisfy the demand in the SF Bay Area. So, if you want one from Hanlees, like I did this morning when I went there for a test drive, they slap a $6000 market value adjustment on you over and above MSRP. They justify this with some line about high demand and low supply, or that all dealers in the Bay Area do the same thing. Its just a dishonest and unethical scam. Greedy in a kick em while theyre down kind of way, nonetheless. Tesla has it right... We dont need dealerships at all and these sort of practices are indicative of why. Online direct will hopefully solve this problem once and for all. Bad business, Hanlee! Hyundai - shame on you for allowing this to take place. At least they did convince me to buy a car today... I will have my new Tesla in 2 weeks!

Why cant I give them ZERO star?? This place was awful. Sales people tried to sell me a Santa Fe for almost 4k over the price listed on their website. Tried to give me a 2k rebate when it was supposed to be 3250. Gave me an apr above what was listed on the website. Then, on top of those, I told him (Trent in finance) NO EXTRAS. NONE. Walked away to find $7,495 worth of these EXTRAS on my contract. Then on top of that had to wait over 1-1/2 hours to get it fixed. I would never go back to this place if my life depended on it.

Anthony and Joe’l were very helpful answering questions via email and text, the way I preferred to communicate. Joe’l sent me an excellent offer from his manager and we were able to nail it all down before I met him (friendly and helpful) and picked up the car. Only complaint: it was a simple final sale but involved lots of waiting in a kinda shabby showroom for the finance mgr. (who wore his mask at half-mast). I love my Kona EV!

Had called ahead of time to make an appointment, but was unable to test drive the vehicle because they are requiring folks to go through the application process in order to test drive. I have never heard of this before...completely outrageous! The GV80 is now out of my short list. Will move on with Volvo and Audi.

We literally got off the plane from New York and went immediately to two car dealerships. We were not pleased with the pitch or price at either. We knew upon arriving at Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai that this was going to be different. The staff was welcoming, helpful and thorough. DONT GO THERE to service your car. They just want your money. I had the worst experience at Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai. I have a brand new Kona SEL and it turned off 2 times while I was driving after only 4 months and 2 weeks after driving 5442 miles. My car was not even due for the first maintenance as they say first maintenance for my car is at 6 months or 7500 miles. When I brought my car there, they told me my car was low on oil and I have to take my car for oil change every 3500 miles instead of 7500 miles because Im a SEVERE DRIVER !!! Which doesnt make sense at all. If you just do the simple math, I even drive leas than normal drivers.(6 months = 7500 miles1 month = 1250 miles4 months 2 weeks = 5625 miles)My car mileage after 4 month 2 weeks = 5442!!My car comes with three years free maintenance but at Hanlees hilltop Hyundai they want me to bring my car more often which means I will only get free maintenance for 1.5 year. I will never go there again. Very poor communication and customer service by Nallely Cruz.

This is based off my experience yesterday (9/24/19) that I had with the shuttle driver: My car was being serviced yesterday & was done at 2:20, I was with my daughter nearby at Hilltop mall which is about 10 blocks away from Hyundai. I requested for a shuttle to pick us up & was told itll be a 30-45 minute wait. 50 minutes later, the shuttle never came so me & my daughter had to walk back to Hyundai. At 4:10 which is 1 hour & 50 minutes later, the shuttle driver called my phone asking do I still need him to come pick me up. That wouldve been over a 2 hour wait, it seems like the shuttle driver was out running his own personal errands

I bought a car from here a year ago.They sold me a defective car. A Lemon that had multiple recalls on it. They gave me the run around now my car is there getting a whole new engine. Now theyre telling me that they dont have any loaner cars and that I have to wait or go get a rental. They say I will be reimbursed. I trusted them when I bought the car. Im not giving up anymore money. How can I trust them now? I have to call everyday to even figure out whats going on with my car. No one calls me to give updates. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE!!!

Ive not had 3 major issues on my Hyundai Ioniq Limited Ultra. Each time the problem could not be resolved in one visit due to lack of parts.So, Ive had to come back 3 times after the 3 times for initial diagnosis.Once they did give my alternant transportation, but I have to drive 20 miles t0 get to them, I would think the dealership would be more inclined to offer alternate transportation anytime the repairs would take over an hour.Regardless, I still like the car very much. I love the array of features which all work as promised.My girlfriend liked it so much, she purchased one after driving in mine for a few months.

I inquired about their base 2020 Accent. Jan James emailed me about a lease. I asked for a 10,000 mile 3 year lease and Jan told me that Hyundai does not offer a 10,000 mile lease on the Accents. I asked what the lease numbers looked like for 12,000 miles per year and he responded that with $2,000 from me, the payments will be over $500. He then pitched me a finance quote for the accent. Lying to customers and raising prices is very unprofessional. It seems like Jan is very new to the car business and does not know what he is doing, but if that is what his managers told him to tell me and lie to me then I do not recommend anybody coming here to do business. When I called him out through email he stopped responding all together. Will be mentioning this on social media and raising this with the BBB.

I tried to purchase a Genesis from this dealership. On 3 separate occasions I was quoted a discounted price. When I called back to purchase the car I was told that the dealer just raised the price by $8,000 and would not sell it to me a the previously quoted price. Beware of their bait and switch tactics.

This is a continuation from my previous post.Finally spoke with someone in the service dept and advised, the system shows the trunk latch has arrived but they are unable to locate it.I was asked if I wanted to be placed on hold or receive a call back. Well, its a good thing I chose to receive a call back. After 3hrs, no call back to advise if the part was located. I called 4 times and continued to get the voicemail mail to leave a message which I did however, still no call back.This is the worst case of poor customer service Ive ever experienced and will never refer anyone to this dealership to purchase a vehicle.

Beware Hanless Hilltop Hyundai are thieves that will lie & steal your hard earned money!!! Their service department will rip you off, stay away, take your business elsewhere! They won’t honor existing warrantees, and lie about repairs needed, just look at other reviews here and on yelp. There’s a pattern of dishonesty and charging for work that’s not necessary, or never done. Ive purchased two brand new Hyundai vehicles, and refused to take my vehicle to their service center. I will drive all the way to Concord Hyundai for service when needed. My car was still under warranty, I took it to their shop, they recommended replacing the battery, but told me it was still OK. My vehicle broke down numerous times, my wife was left stranded! I had my battery checked at a local auto parts store, and found out it was no good. Instead of honoring the warranty, they lied and cheated, and tried to sell me a battery. This is not the first time I had problems with them, Hilltop Hyundai is your worst nightmare come true when it comes to vehicle repair and honesty! I find it interesting how the manager will reply to good reviews, but ignore the multitude of concerns and abuse communicated by loyal Hyundai customers!!

They dont really give your warranty inspection a thorough inspection. My back brake grinds a little bit which was the main reason to drive all the way here from San Francisco. Once I went to retrieve my vehicle I asked how did the brakes look? They tell me oh we are not able to inspect brakes because you didnt pay for the tire rotation. They tried to upsell me a $89 oil change and tire rotation. Which is completely ubsurd pricing first and foremost. And I can take my car to an oil change place and have it done for $40 and they rotate tires complimentary. Therefore hanlees doesnt fully do theyre warranty inspection as promised unless you waste money on something that is not needed. Never going to return. Waste of time, gas, and money.

I had an oil change on May 26 20 and i was told that my car Hyundai Sonata takes syntactic bland oil and when i pick up my car car they said that they have used sytatic oil according to my receipts they put regular oil.Thats a lie men i dont think i will ever go back to them thats where i purchased this vehicle.They have lost my business for the future for sure.I dont recommend it to anyone.

Brought my car in 2wks ago due to problem opening the trunk on my Genesis.After a 2hr diagnosis, it was determined a new latch is needed.The latch was ordered, went back and after 2hrs, I was told the wrong latch was ordered .A new latch was supposedly ordered 1wk ago.Called this morning, phone just ring over 10 times and then the call was disconnected.I called back and the answering came on to leave a message which I did.Waiting to hear back.I purchased my car in Dublin so I guess I will need to go back, they seem to be more efficent.A friend asked If they washed my car after service, they did not. She said other dealers outside of Richmond, CA do for FREE!!!

Service has friendly customer service. However, prices are high, no website with discount offers. They have 1 shuttle for all Hilltop dealers, so you are forced to wait for a shuttle 1.5 hours. Or pay for your own Lyft to and from.

I only bring my Hyundai Entourage here. Tracy and the service team are very polite, car smart, and friendly. At times it can get busy and the wait is a little longer than usually but I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. If I have to wait longer than an hour + Tracy make sure to make arrangements to get me to where I need to go even if it means having to leave the front desk to drive me (which she have before because shuttle took so long).

Ive bought close to 30 cars in my life and this dealer is by far the the worse. when I first called (Wednesday at 11am) they couldnt get a sales person on the line. strike 1. when I arrived, couldnt fin a place to park, had to park at the ford dealership. strike 2. when I walked in, it took 10 min before someone asked if I needed help. strike 3. i should have just walked out but my gf wanted to test drive a car. it took another 15 min for them to find an electric car specialist. she asked for a drivers license and took a copy and sent us on our way. wow we waited ev specialist to do that. I really think that most of the staff is either too lazy, too tired or too inept to help anyone

Service dept. Just awful.I had a recalled part that needed to be replaced. I made an appointment ahead of time just to go today and find out they dont have the part in stock. When making the appointment online, they had why I was coming in (recalled part) and know everything about my vehicle (year, VIN, etc) since Im logged in to the site and provide my info.Why in the world couldnt they have notified me ahead of time to say the part wasnt in stock? Obviously the recall has nothing to do with this dealership and not having the part in stock is understandable, but the lack of communication and thus making me drive 20 min each way when I had already taken the day off work to fix this issue is inexcusable. This is a beyond-awful customer experience and makes me ashamed to be a Hyundai owner.

Its okay. Never had issues but they dont wash cars after service. When i can i go to Concord.UPDATE: they have a key drop off but their lot is always closed. Parking on that street is illegal so the management lacks on logical thinking. Its hard for me to drop my car off on their regular hours... OPEN UP THE LOT!

I originally took my car in for service on September 17, 2019 because my check engine light was on. I was told that the gas cap seal was not sealing and the gas cap needed to be replaced but it had to be ordered. They turned off the check engine light. I waited for three weeks to be notified and each time I called was told it had not arrived. I finally went on Amazon on October 13th and bought one myself. I replaced the gas cap. Two days later the check engine light came on again.I returned to the shop. They turned off the check engine light again and told me to drive the car 50 miles or more to reset the computer. I did and three days later the check engine light came on again.The last time I returned to the shop was on October 25th and I was told a leak was found and they needed to do a smoke test to find out where it was. However, they did not have the tool and had to order it. They said they would call me the following week. I have not heard from anyone. I have tried to reach someone in service each day since November 4th day and always get voice mail. I finally left a message on November 7th. No return call yet.I am going to another Hyundai dealer. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO HILLTOP!

My family and I have been purchasing hyundais from Randy since 2002. Whenever I need to replace or upgrade a car, I have friends who say go to my guy at x dealership and theyll hook you up. While I appreciate their efforts, no personal hookups have ever beat out Randy. He makes sure we are aware of promotions and most recently, I was able to purchase a better model for a lower price AND less money down. Also, Randy doesnt do the whole let me talk to my manager and see what we can do process where you sit and wait for 3 different prices written on a piece of paper. No, with Randy you get the best deal on the first inquiry. When I need a car, I feel great knowing that I can contact Randy and get honest hassle free service!

Truly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Lisa Wilson, who is in charge of the finance department was extremely condescending. I simply asked her what the final price of the car would be after taxes and processing fees and she said she wasnt sure and didnt have a piece of paper to write it down on even if she did. She laughed in my face when I told her what I wanted my car payment to be without asking how much I would be putting down, etc.I was looking at the Kona and the manager quoted me at 3,000 dollars above the MSRP. When I asked why he said its because youre not serious about buying the car The entire staff acted like they were doing me a big favor by selling me a car. I ended up getting a Ford Escape across the street at Hilltop Ford. If looking for a Hyundai go elsewhere.
