Mike is always patient and shoots straight with me. My 2006 Honda has over 290k miles on it and they are honest about what needs to be replaced and what is kind of a waste, haha.

First of all they are convenient. Shop waiting area is neat and clean. I highly suggest making an appointment because they are busy. Very pleased at the service I received.

This crew has been working on my cars for a couple of years. Yesterday, I came in for an inspection. Even though my brakes passed, I asked about a vibration I was having. Without hesitation, Chris and Mike found room in the schedule and were able to turn my rotors. The price was incredibly reasonable. It was cheaper than new rotors and much more reliable. Mike personally saw to making this happen in a reasonable timeframe with respect. Its not often you find a car shop that doesnt overcharge and delivers every time! If you arent using these guys, well ... Youre paying way too much!

I recently started working down the street from General Auto & Tire and a colleague recommended them for my inspection. It was so convenient to be able to take my car here and leave it there while I went on to work. Usually I wait with my vehicle because I dont have someone to drop me off and pick me up but this time I did. Chris and Mike inspected my car and the recommendations they made werent costly at all. They fixed the issue pretty quickly and my car was ready by lunchtime. They were very kind and generous to pull my car up to me since it was pouring down rain and their sense of humor made me feel really comfortable being there.

My family has been taking our vehicles there for so many years and the service has been exceptional. Chris, Mike, and the other employees are very nice and are extremely helpful. I rather take my car to them before going to the dealership because they will let me know if it is under warranty. They are upfront with you and what needs to be done!

I dont leave a review unless its a 5 star cause everyone is allowed a less than perfect day in my book and I wont waste my time on regular service provision. I know a good amount about cars and do about 80% of my own work on my 20+ year old cars (various cars). Whenever somethings is out of my grasp, these guys have my back. Shout out to Mike for making magic happen. Reasonable price, honest, and beyond competent mechanics.

Another shop told me I needed ball joints and shocks replaced when the ball joints and shocks where fine. Mike and Chris found the issue and resolved it the same day for a fraction of the original quote.

Our 2006 Honda Pilots alternator stopped working while our youngest daughter was driving it... Since we live an hour or more away from Richmond, we had to have the car towed to the nearest garage who recommended General Auto and Tire. Chris and his team did a great job fitting us in their schedule... the repair was done in a day, at a great price... We cant say enough about how well we were treated by Chris and his team and would really recommend General Auto and Tire to all of our friends and neighbors - honest folks, great work, really fair prices!!!

Honest guys. As I arrived, Mike was explaining in a non condescending way the possible car issues the customer (a woman) may be encountering, and the solutions to it/them. My repair was relatively minor. I find them to be honest and efficient.

I am truly impressed with there service. I am writing this because they truly went beyond. I dropped my car off and was unable to pick it up before they closed. I asked them and they drove my car to my office a few minutes away and left the keys with the front desk staff as I had requested. They even accepted payment over the phone. Car was returned in great condition and they resolved an issue they found same day! Amazing! Coming back again!!

Weve been using them for 4 years now. They are honest and willing to work with you. They realize that some vehicles you need to keep safe and running, but dont want every bell and whistle on.
