Amazing place! Even severely short staffed, they really try their best! They’ve never tried to upsell me on anything and really take the time to help me understand my car better. This is truly the best place around Richmond. Jay the owner is a great guy and runs a tight crew. I originally went here because of the good reviews on Yelp and can testify that the ratings match the service. Its true that it takes a while for the work to be done however they were more than accommodating with a loaner vehicle. Not only that but Jay was very transparent with what they were doing with my transmission leaving me voicemails with updates. I will for sure be recommending this place to everyone I know around here!

This team actually cares about you, and Ive been wowed 3/3 times Ive needed their help. Theres no behind-the-curtains magic act where you end up with a random pricey bill like most other places, and they ask really relevant questions (Do you hear the noise when youre accelerating, braking, in idle? For instance..) to help them be diagnostic before offering a solution. Im consistently impressed, and theyre the only team Ill go to now.

As a (picky) owner of several higher end vehicles (//M BMW, AMG Benz, Lexus), I’m extremely selective of who works on my vehicles. Elliott Automotive is the only place that now works on my vehicles. The owner is fair, honest, available at all times. The mechanics are all top notch and have extreme attention to detail. Most recently I needed tires. Jay (owner) walked me through the best options and also informed me of a more optimal tire size than was on the car. (Aftermarket wheels). He ordered them and the install was perfect. Perfectly balanced, zero nicks to any wheels, and PSI pressure perfectly set to the exact number. Even requested that I test drive to ensure everything was 100% to my liking. (It was). I’ve also had repair work and custom exhaust work done here before. All top notch. With the quality of work comes positive reputation and with that, volume, so there may be slightly longer wait these days for significant repairs. But for the value and level of perfection/service, its worth it.

So I just dropped my car off to get the tires and engine/cabin air filters replaced. I’ve never been here before and I won’t get my car back for another few hours but i already know everything will be to my satisfaction based on how these guys have treated me so far. Kit is awesome and very knowledgeable. He took the time to walk me through some great tire options and answered all my questions. When i walked in today, Jay greeted me with a friendly smile and a manly handshake. I have him my first name and he knew exactly who i was and why i was there. I know I’m going to be pleased with the end result and quality of work these guys provide. Highly recommend this shop!

Outstanding work, honest & friendly staff!! Ive been taking our family cars to Jay and his staff over at Elliott Tire for a number of years now. The work they do is great, our vehicles remain running and in good condition thanks to these folks. If it looks like something may need some work in the near future (breaks, tires) they usually give us a heads up so we can plan for the upcoming expenditures. Jay has been incredibly helpful during my recent car crisis. I had a flat tire and called Elliott Tire. Being new to the area I just searched the closest location and definitely made the right decision!! They were so personable and helpful! Jay worked with me directly to ensure that I got the best of the best service! I was picked up from my location and taking to work. They kept me updated throughout the entire process. It turned out I needed all of my tires replaced and they have me a great rate...my tires were wore down to the steel. Once everything was done they picked me back up from work. The interior of my car was cleaned out and the car looked brand new! :) The service here has been unlike any auto service shop experience Ive ever had!! Some of these reviews may be fake but as for me I have had a great experience. Got my car inspected and new tires. Jay is super nice and seems honest to me. I do my own repairs and have a mechanics degree ( automotive engineering to be exact) and know a little bit about cars. I will be trusting them again with my car and my truck.

This was my first visit to Elliot Tire and Auto. I was recommended here by a salesman at Mercedes Benz. I absolutely recommend this place to others. A real nice mom and pops place whom you can put your trust in to and not have to worry about getting taken advantage of. Everyone from the technician, office manager to the owner was so nice. Ive been looking for a quality, honest mechanic for a while now, and the search is over. These guys are seriously top-notch. From the moment I called, Kit was super helpful in pre-diagnosing what he thought was wrong with my car. We took it for a test drive and he quickly came to the conclusion that it was my rear brakes. They got the car up quickly, and quoted me a price that was very fair. Kit kept me in the loop the whole time, and they had my car turned around really quickly. When I picked it up, they had washed my car! These guys seriously have earned a customer for life, and I wouldnt want to consider going anywhere else.Thanks a lot guys!

It is very hard to find a good mechanic anywhere. These guys are fantastic. They do everything they can to help you understand what is wrong with your car. They actually brought me into the garage and brought me under my car to show me what they needed to fix. They even keep car parts around the office of to compare your broken part with a good part to show you how it is supposed to look. If your car might take a while, they let you borrow and a nice car at that. They are the friendliest mechanics I have ever met as well. Not only that, but their prices are good and I think that is because of all their repeat business which keeps them from having to charge so much. I highly recommend them and wouldnt go anywhere else.

I cant say enough great things about this place! The staff is amazing and willing to do whatever necessary to make sure Im safe while driving. Jay and Kit, in particular, explain things exceptionally well and go above and beyond to be sure my car is well maintained.

Broken promises, inconsistent vehicle loaner service, failure to call back within designated time, takes warranty check without providing service. I got the run around every time I called and an excuse instead of a solution. The owner and staff seemed like a cool set of individuals but I had an overall bad experience due to a verbal promise that wasnt delivered. After giving them multiple times to correct their mistake within a very generous time period I decided its not worth trying to get my vehicle worked on. Im very loyal when it comes to local business because they often have better employee-customer interaction but unfortunately, this just wasnt the case with this one. I hope the next person that tries this shop has a better experience then I did. Because in the end I was fleeced out of a service while they pocketed a check.

I am so busy I never have time to write reviews, but I was so pleased with the service here I had to make sure I shared my experience. I was on my way to Virginia coming from New Jersey when my Ford pickup truck developed a coolant leak. I pulled off at the first exit I found and saw Elliott Tire Auto Service. They have taken care of several issues. Courteous and knowledable staff that does great work. They fixed an issue that other shops couldn’t figure out or would tell me that the age of my truck things just “ happen”. Yet, when I took it to Elliot tire, they immediately found the issue and it was fixed. On a separate occasion they were able to get a right front wheel bearing in, in the snow last minute, and got me back on the road in no time. As a new person to Richmond, finding a new reliable and decent mechanic is like finding your lost keys in the house; you know theyre in the house somewhere but you have no idea where to start looking.Well as I asked coworkers about who they go to, I got a few referrals to different mechanics, some far outside of town, some too busy to take new customers, and some with ridiculously short work hours. As I work from 8-5 pm with a 30 min drive to and from work, I need a shop open long enough get my car worked on.And when I called ETAS, I found a shop that stays open long enough for me to get my car looked at, I found a shop with great customer service, and I found a shop that helps me decide what Needs to be done, and suggests what will need to be done in the future: All with a GREAT PRICE.ETAS may not be the cheapest place, but theyve got to be damn close, and you get quality work that will last you and your car. Found this place via Google to drop a used car for pre-buy check. Good reviews, so I tried it. I think I found a new place to take my other cars. Jay and his group were very personable and up front. I saw and heard them interact with several other customers coming/going and on the phone. All interactions were very impressive. Not the most convenient location for me, but loaner cars available.

On May 2, 2014, I went to this car shop to do VA state inspection for my car. First time customer. After I told their manager what I need, he tried to do some other services on my car saying that $16 state inspection is a low price and they need to do some more stuff to cover their expenses. I have refused and told him I need the inspection only. Unfortunately, they found that left inner tie rod end has to much play and it needs to be replaced. On May 6, 2014 around 8:15 am, I went back to do the re-inspection. I have dropped off my car and went home. At 11:00 am, I have called them to check the status on my car and they told me that it will be done by 12:00 pm. I went there around 12:30 pm and the same manager told me that their guy for inspections is sick and I need to call them to check if they are able to reinspect my car. We will see. I will provide you with all names next time I go there. I hope they will do it.The owner name is Jay Raju. I went back today on May 7, 2014, and we have made a deal that they will reinspect my car within next 10 days, or he will give me money back. His inspector is still sick and he has nobody to do it right now. We will see.

I have been tossed around by many mechanics spent lots of money for an annoying noise very one of them changes something and the problem was never resolved. Dropped off my car yesterday 20 minutes later I received a call from Elliott team tilling me what is the problem. Today at 5 pm I had my car perfectly fine. No noise and detailed! ! Im not a big review-writing person, but Ive been very impressed with what Ive seen and experienced with them. Ive seen many, many customers asking for his advice. During my first visit, Jay looked at a familys used car that they bought recently, and they decided it wasnt worth fixing. He helped them get a loan for another car in 15 minutes AND they looked at a car within another 10-15 minutes. How many shops would help you with that?In my own experience, he took the time to walk me through the issues that my car was dealing with. This was done in a simple way that people could really understand, even those that have no idea about cars. Their service, the time that they spend with customers is really like nothing Ive ever seen from any other shop.

A coworker introduced me to this shop a couple years ago. Born and raised in Richmond, worked at a garage for a couple years myself, but never had a shop I truly trusted until I found this place. Has never let me down. Extremely knowledgable, do solid work, and customer service second to none. Theyve even provided a loaner car until the work was done whenever Ive needed it. As long as I call Richmond my home, I wont trust my car to anyone else.

Two weeks ago when I arrived at work, my back right wheel was smoking because of a locked brake caliper. AAA towed my car out to Elliott Tire Auto Service, and, because of unforeseen issues getting my Jetta back out on the road, Jay generously loaned me one of his cars so I was able to travel during the interim. He was communicative about what was going on with my car, and what to expect going forward. I highly recommend Elliott Auto for repairs. Theyve earned my loyalty.

Ill preface by saying Im not the type to write reviews online. This was my first visit to Elliott and it was based on the reviews on Google. Ive never seen a service-oriented company so highly rated, especially an auto repair place, so I had to check it out for myself. Very happy that I did.I had to replace tires on my 13 Durango and I spent a lot of time trying to decide which new set was the best choice. Kit fielded multiple calls from me and was really helpful and patient working through options and pricing. I dropped my car off yesterday evening and it was ready today by noon. Ive already raved about the service to one friend and will continue to recommend highly.

I cant tell if the guys at Elliott Tire are actually ill intentioned or just incompetent, but I would suggest avoiding them. Exceptionally long service times, high rates, an inability to provide any quote before the work was started or completed, mixed with a lack of attention to detail which lead to incorrect reassembly of the vehicle which caused other mechanical issues to manifest. One of these issues is a ruined timing belt that was replaced 2 months prior among the numerous missing fasteners under the hood and outside.

Jay, Kit, and team are top notch and provide an awesome customer service experience...well priced/value service and tires...great operation highly recommended! If you are a BMW enthusiast like me, there is always some ///M eye candy around...highly recommended!!

Every time Ive been to Elliott Tire, theres always a customer or two (one time a lawyer, another time a firefighter, among others) just shooting the breeze with the staff and everyone is in a good helpful mood.When Jay learned my car had been in an accident a year earlier he carefully inspected it and decided there wasnt anything that needed to be fixed. But then he told me about how a diminished value claim through the other drivers insurance would compensate me for the loss in resale value to my car because of the accident. I successfully recovered compensation from the other drivers insurance company and Jay said I made his day when I told him about the success of my claim. He didnt get anything out of it financially and only wanted to help me, which he did.Ill be going back to Elliott Tire every time my car needs their help and Ill be recommending all my friends do the same.

We stopped overnight in Richmond on our way from New York to Charlotte and in the morning discovered that one of the tires had a nail in it (our rental had only a space saver so we did not have a choice but to fix it). ETAS was not the closest garage but had a fair bit of nice reviews so we decided to go there. Boy, am I glad that we did!Not only they were prompt, quick and inexpensive to fix the tire but, after learning that my 11years old is into cars, Jay took my son around the garage, answered all questions about some old Toyota engine they were working on and showed some of his private cars. All of this for a customer who, lets be honest, hes unlikely to see ever again (to start with, we are from Australia).Im still stoked - this is one of THE best customer service I ever saw in my life, garage or no garage. Jay and his team - FTW :)

Elliot tires is the best mechanic in the city of Richmond. Great people great work. Its a must come to for yourself.

Jay and Kit are awesome, and they know their stuff. See if you can find some of the parts yourself itll be cheaper.

I am and have been thoroughly pleased with the service I have received from Elliot Tire. Whether its top level service on our newer vehicle or how to get a few thousand more miles out of my older car, they have always done me right! The prices are always fair and reasonable and thats on the occasion that they dont work out something better.

They fit me in last minute for a state inspection, worked very quickly while I waited, and were very courteous and professional. I would absolutely come here again.

Ive taken my cars to Jay and the guys at Elliott Tire for 4 years now, and in the few instances I have had to take my cars elsewhere, Ive regretted it. I like that the shop takes the time to explain what is wrong with the car. While I wish they werent always so busy (seriously expand the business dude) I feel that I get the time and dedication that my cars and I need.

Jay and his team provide outstanding customer service and repair work. They take the time to listen, explain whats needed, and help you understand everything they recommend, all at a reasonable price.

I think they over charge for what they offer. I was charged $900 parts, labor and inspection.

Ive been using this place since I came to Richmond. The owner takes the time to show you the issues happening with your vehicle and in some cases, even provide options. Theyve handeled the installation of my transmission, oil changes, tire rotations, belts...you name it, their good with, fair and about as honest as you can get. As for places I dont recommend...dont ever goto Midas.
