I came in for an oil change and brakes, and the promptly took my car in. They were very open and honest about what needed to be replaced and were even able to get the parts delivered within the hour for my brakes. I would definitely recommend this place for your car needs. They are under new management so ignore those old reviews, these guys will take care of you!

This place is amazing! They are incredibly nice, fast, and kind. I called to make an appointment for brakes, and had do diagnostic test, since my check engine light had been on for quite some time. The manger came out and did his absolute best to answer my highly technical questions about my car’s problem. Having answered my questions to my satisfaction I gave him the go ahead to do the repairs. I am very pleased with the service I received and fixing all my car issues !I will be taking my car to Auto Max again for any maintenance and repairs needed on my car and my wifes car.

Automax did an outstanding job of working on my car. Classic 1969 Camaro, Robert and the team at Automax are A+ in my book. Drum to disc brake conversion, new header gaskets, new power booster and master cylinder all with my own custom parts. These guys are good and very reasonable on price. They went above and beyond to check everything even pointing out things that I overlooked. If you have an issue these guys can get it done! Thanks

They seem nice but they will overcharge you. I went in for a simple oil change and i ended up spending more than a $1000. They need to be honest about the work they are doing and ask for customer approval before doing it, stay away from that place

Good prices the staff is very friendly and provide quality service. My car was in a dead state my tires were gone including engine check lights were on, they fixed everything in 3hrs my car drives smooth you can sat the quality of work was not compromised.

Took my Murano in knowing I needed a lot done. In mind I had the expectation that I needed to replace my shocks/strutts, do my 60k maintenance service, rotars w/ pads, and some other minor tweaks. Without even mentioning these needed tasks I asked them to look at my vehicle and tell me what I needed to do to it to keep it running well for another 3 years. I was very surprised to hear that the report I got back was right on point. This showed me that I found, surprisingly, an honest auto shop. After we agreed on a fair price, repairs started and I got my car back better than it ever was pretty quickly. Im impressed overall and even more impressed with the post service where I got calls from the shop making sure Im happy with my experience. Definitely recommended.

Okay i was skepticle before visiting this place initially but i read it was under new management so i gave it a shot. I would say these guys have really picked up a notch the guy who helped me his name was fredy. His knowldge and passion for cars told me alot about this shop. A bunch of scam artist I sent my truck in and when I return my check engine light was on it wasnt all when I brought it there they never fix any other problems and they create other problems so you have to come back

They were pretty available, walked in and received work quickly. Though I would say they are pretty expensive for most work they do, I was told one price and got a higher one coming back to pick up. Plus the work was mediocre some errors were made, I wouldnt say it was worth the prices, but they work fast if you need quick work.

This place is the worst mechanic shop in Texas!!!!! I dropped my car of in November for a message that read “engine power reduced” and Anthony Pete took $3500 from me guaranteed his work then held my car 10 months and then gave it back to me not running and won’t refund my money! Even asking me for $1500 more to fix it! Im in the process of having to sue them! Don’t go here! These guys are nothing but thieves and incompetent mechanics!

Normally don’t do these but felt like I should. I came to Houston for some work and had issues with my truck. These guys got me in immediately and instantly went to find out what was wrong with it. Darryl and Anthony have been awesome with getting me takin care of. There have been some hiccups with what has been wrong with my truck but these guys have done everything to get me back on the road. If you got car or truck issues these guys are the ones to call.

This place is a joke. I think the guy gets a kick out of asking people to come back some other day because we are full right now. Doesnt look full to me.To the owner: do yourself a favor and FIRE those two inept workers you have at the front desk. They need an attitude adjustment, especially the older one. That guy should be working in a prison somewhere, hed fit right in. He is just one of those bitter angry people with a bad attitude. Put that guy in the back, he is making you lose money.I bring my car in, what a mission man! They couldnt fix a simple thing, instead they treated me incredible rude (and Im very politely because thats not the right word I should use). Never called me or followed up to let me know they were unable to fix such a simple thing, instead I come in and they cant accept responsibility, somehow its my fault and my problem.I would never take my car there again and I will never recommend this place to anyone, quite the contrary, Im gonna bad mouth you as much as possible. Learn how to treat people with respect.

The first time I stopped here, a man told me he wouldnt inspect my car because he was inspecting his last car. It was a little after 5, and since they close at 6, I was upset and left. Went back the next day at 4 and noticed two signs with the hours for the inspections... one said until 5, one said until 530. I thought, man, my bad. Yesterday I came when they were about to end inspections. Good thing Im here with an hour and a half to spare. I walked in and the same man told me he wasnt inspecting any more cars, but to come back the next day. I was clear that I would be going elsewhere. I get that maybe there were a lot of cars to work on, but I dont understand then why there is a lack of staff. Glad I had an unpleasant experience for something minor and not actual car work. Wont be returning to give them that chance.

My wifes car was having issues with engine missing the beat, we also got the check engine light on and inspection was due too. Service manager Phil took care of this car and fixed the engine and gave good test drive to see everything is OK with car.A small cosmetic part of the car had come off, Phil was so nice to get that from Honda dealer and fit it free for us. A great service. Will definitely recommend this place for car repairs. Keep it up Auto Max.

They are all professionals, Highly experienced individuals that are knowledgeable about any vehicle. The staff is trust worthy and honest! I bring all 7 cars here, belonging to my family members.

I had a minor issue with my ac system. A part was loose and just needed to be glued on. I went here based on a family reference. The guy seemed reasonable at first. The man at the desk (i assume its the owner) charged me $40 just to tell me he had to go in deeper to find out what was really wrong. The labor cost for that was $507. All I wanted to know was what was wrong with my ac not spend my whole paycheck. I then went someone else where a car buddy of mine goes. they fixed the problem in about 30 minutes and it only cost me $25.50. This place was over charging me and i should have left when a former customer came in demanding a refund. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Over charges for parts charged me $949.00 for wiring harness that cost only 249.00 charged me for a wiring harness for the back 649.00 the car doesnt even have charged 200.00 for a back light supposed to be brand new but same back light I had on there my total came out 5400.00 paid Anthony Pete 4300.00 on a car not even worth 3500.00 had my car towed because I needed more time to pay the rest which is 900.00 end up paying 6500.00 for a car not even worth 3500.00ANTHONY PETE is a PURE 1000% CON ARTIST AN A THIEFBEWARE BEFORE U DEAL WITH THIS SHOP1000% RIP OFF

I got my annual auto inspection done. Chris was wonderful as he spotted that my filters needed to be changed. He finished the inspection and replaced the filters in under 20 mins.

Fast and reliable. They just performed the states inspection for my car. In few minutes my car was being inspected, and the process was completed in almost no time. If you are like me, a person that have no time but weekends to take care of errands, maintain the car, shop your groceries, do the the lawn, and have some fun, definitively this is a place you want to rely on for a fast and accurate service.

I recently changed out my tires and was in need of an alignment because the camber in the front was really bad. Now, the old management was terrible and would not have considered this location because they were too focused on finding a way to get more money out of you and doing sloppy work. Management has changed and I am so glad!! I dropped my car off the moment they opened and he was honest about a realistic time frame on when it would be ready.

Horrible experience, the guy told me that he couldnt do my state inspection that he can do it Monday and I only asked for an explanation and his reply was does it really matter I didnt know poor customer satisfaction was there best. Just horrible never again!!

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take your vehicle to this place. They are terrible. They claim stuff is wrong with your vehicle just to get more money out of you. They changed some filters on my car & now my A/C is blowing out hot air so I took it back to them & he claimed it would take him hours to check it. LOL just didn’t want to accept the fact that it didn’t start doing this until after I brought my car into their shop. Never again!

My brother took his car in for a small repair and they were not able to fix it. Before he went to get his car, they said they had called and left messages but had no proof. The two thugs working on 11/25 started to curse at us after my brother was asking them questions about not having the car ready. These people have no manners or professionalism. If you are the owner and value your business consider the amount of bad reviews you have online. People like the ones that work at this place should not be working in a customer facing environment.

If I could leave 0 Stars I would. I use this place cause they are close but should have learned my lesson when I was overcharged the first few times I went. However..... on 04/03/2015 I took my daughters car in to have her breaks done, an oil change and inspection. $550 later, I am thinking my daughters car is in good shape for a while since she is away at college.. Well I was wrong... very, very wrong. She started having problems again with her breaks.. but this time they were making horrible grinding noises and since she is away a college, I had to get her to someone fast. We found out that when Auto Max changed her breaks they skillfully forgot to mention that her caliber was bad and if she didnt replace it, she would have to change her breaks again in less than a year because it would tear them up. The Mom and Pop we use in her college town told us her caliber has been like this for a long time and this would have been an issue when her breaks were changed April 2015. Now we are out another $900 because her routers are complete shot.I do not care how convenient this place is.. I will never go to them again for even a state inspection. Honesty is what it is all about in this world and this place just proved they do not have it!!!

I got my mercury mountaineer serviced for the steering column and these folks bent over backwards to get it right !! Reasonable price and very respectable guys!!!

My mini van was overheating. We had replace the thermostat ourselves because that we an easy and inexpensive most likely first step. When that didnt work we decided to take it to Auto Max since it was close to our home. We were told that the radiator was bad. The estimate for replacing the radiator and two hoses would be $607.00. My husband called our mechanic of 30 years and was given an estimate of $300.00. The owner of Auto Max called us later that day to say that the person who gave the estimate doesnt usually work there and that he felt bad about us leaving and not getting the service we needed. He said he would do the work for his cost at $450.00. Still too much. I priced a radiator at Autozone for $130.00 the cost for a radiator at Auto Max was $234.90. I even priced a radiator at Dodge which was $216.00. So Auto Max is charging more than dealer parts for the radiator.We picked up our vehicle and had it towed the 11 miles to our mechanic.Turns out the radiator was not bad but that the water pump had failed. The cost to repair it was $370.00 that included the towing and an oil change.I cant imagine how much the total repair bill would have been had we left it with Auto Max to repair given the fact that they missed the problem. We would have paid for a new radiator that was not needed and would not have fixed the problem then would be forced to pay for more work to be done at an exorbitant price.

I wish I could give zero stars to this place. If you have any respect for your car or yourself, dont go to this place. They will try to push everything they can to you, charging even five times the regular price of an air filter if they can. I went there because its close to where I live, than it would be convenient. I wish I could turn back time. My advice, go to a more serious place, that will respect you and your car. Dont have to trust me, check the last three reviews.

Went in several times, called in as well. Needed an inspection, but since these vehicles were brand new and they wouldnt be able to stick me for any repairs, they never had the time. I finally gave up.STAY AWAY! They are only looking for an opportunity to rip you off.

I usually change my own oil on my vehicles for fear of what Im about to write about my experience, but I had a sudden long trip I was going to make and didnt have time.I went in for a basic oil change, and of course got upsold to the better one, since my car has high mileage...understandable. Then of course the whole you should get a new air filter.... okay, since I havent changed it since I bought the car from a friend. Walk out $70+ later. I drive only across the street to my house, do not drive the car the rest of the day. Next morning start my drive to work and 15 minutes in my check engine light comes on. What a coincidence. I make it to work and check under the hood and make sure the oil cap got put on. Look around for anything else, and notice the oil filter looked old, and very similar to the one I put on last time, a Fram high mileage one. I decide after work I was going to go straight back to have them verify the oil filter was changed. On my way there I call and ask what kind of oil filters they use and the guy says pro guard or premier guard or something to that effect. I asked if that was the ONLY kind they used and he said yes.I get there and I mentioned that I dont think my oil filter got changed and that my check engine light was on, and the guy asked what color it was, and I said orange, its a Fram filter. He says well, thats not right, ours are all black. I said I didnt think so. He took my car to the back to check it out. He comes back in and says Well it is a new filter, but my guy said they had a couple of Fram filters left over, so he just put one of those in. I told him to go ahead and switch it out and to toss the other ones in the trash so this doesnt happen again. And we went ahead and cleared out that check engine light and it shouldnt come on again. Not a very believable story.So, I tell this story to our son, and he said the same exact thing happened to him, at the same place. They didnt change the oil filter.I will NOT be going back there, and its disappointing because it is a very convenient location.And BTW, the check engine light came back on the next day. I will be taking it elsewhere to have it checked out.
