Judy, my service advisor was AMAZING! I typically have my vehicle serviced at a different location but they were booked until November. Luckily I was able to snag an early morning appointment without having to wait until November. Judy was patient, friendly and thorough. I will definitely be back in the event my dealership can’t get me in timely.
Pearson was great to deal with and made the sale quick and easy. They knew exactly what I wanted to do and that I was confident in my decision so therefore made sure everything move forward efficiently. They gave me the options as far as additional protection is concerned and didnt make me feel pressured to make it any specific decision just gave me advice to allow me to make my own. Will, the mechanic who worked on my truck did an excellent job on my Chevy Avalanche. He was very friendly and explained all the things he did to fix my truck issues. The maintenance service office took very good care of my issue. I was interstate traveling when my CX-5 started bucking and I pulled off I95. I found Pearson was 10 mi away and stopped by. The maintenance manager kept me informed while I waited and had the problem (bad mass airflow sensor) fixed and me back on the road within 1 1/2 hours.
I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment. The service agent kept me standing for about 3 minutes without acknowledging me while he kept chatting with another service agent. Another service agent came and greet me and checked me in. It was very disappointing and annoying.
The sales rep, George was excellent and personable. I told him what I was looking for ahead of time and it was reflected in that part of the process. When we decided on a car however, the finance folks were a bit pushy. Trying to get me to apply for credit when I already had financing. I just needed a buyers order for my bank to cut a check. And in the last part of it, the finance manager tried to up-sell bunch of stuff (which is normal) I did buy an extended warranty. I was told my payment would be one thing after the warranty was added - and it was actually $30 more than that. So instead of being excited, I was left with a feeling of being taken advantage of. In that part of the process anyway. The vehicle is nice - the price was fair enough. If I was able to leave feeling better about the process overall - this would be a 5-star review.

Comprehensive repairs and maintanence had been occasioned by a routine safety inspection, and was executed with dispatch and minimal disruption. (I had a loaner vehicle for two days.) Very glad to return to my stick shift vehicle. Any longer and I might have considered left leg amputation.Courteous, efficient service much appreciated.
I called several times on Tuesday morning before going to the dealership/service unit because I did not have an appointment. I was looking to purchase two tires for my vehicle, and actually take them somewhere else to be installed because I was unable to speak to anyone beforehand, thinking because I didnt have an appointment, they couldnt help me, but I decided to go to there anyway. A long story short, I was able to purchase the tires, go to my appointment, and I received a call to say my vehicle was ready, all within three hours or less. The service area was busy, but I received total professionalism.
My wife and I had an excellent experience with Pearson Mazda’s! We ended up buying two new cars from them in one week. This will be are go to dealers from now on! It an hour drive for us but we’ll worth the distance! We had an amazing salesman in George! The rest of the team also treated us with excellence!
Earliest appointment I could get for an estimate on a repair was 2 weeks which is fine due to their lack of staff. Came in, gave my info, went to the waiting room with my family, then the attendant came in to tell me it would be $150 to look at it. Nothing was mentioned of that 2 weeks prior when I made the appointment. So we packed up the family, went down the street to a different dealer, they gave me a free estimate, same day. Now I’m getting emails from Pearson asking if I was satisfied with my repair. Haha
From my first contact with Pearson Mazda, via email, everyone was professional, conscientious, personable, and kind. I wasn’t sure I wanted a Mazda and had planned to test drive a Subaru and a Toyota too. Mazda was my first stop. That’s where I met Issac. He allowed me to take the lead - never any pressure or manipulation. He was patient and spent all afternoon letting me test drive vehicles. He listened to my concerns and made helpful suggestions. By the end of my time at the dealership I had found my car. Actually, Issac found it at another location and worked with me to come to the right features and price. He also worked with me on my trade-in and I was completely satisfied. Later, when my new Mazda3 arrived, Dakota efficiently guided me through the finance portion. Issac was on-the-spot with my keys, providing instructions - cars are a lot more complicated than my previous purchase ten years ago - and offering to help in any way. I would recommend Pearson Mazda and Issac to anyone looking for a new car.

Stress free for sure. They were backed up when I arrived so I immediately got a loaner vehicle which served me wonderfully through the weekend. The staff is always very friendly and helpful as well.
The Pearson Mazda staff was mixed. Most of the cars I looked at were used and for some reason they where dirty on the inside. Must have been trade-ins that had not been detailed. Very off putting. There are online people who respond to your questions and in person staff. My sales person was good (Chase) and even though one of the cars I wanted got sold he was available to help. He helped you find what you were looking for and kept in touch during the process. One of the sales managers (Freddie) was very personable, had a good rapport with people and gave unbiased advice to check the blogs and see what other people thought of Mazda. The other sales manager (Nick) was less personable and can off dismissive. He said Im about to raise the price on the car you want, so get it now. I also asked about the $250.00 saving ad that pops-up on the website. The same sales manager would not honor that either and when I reach out to the online person they gave mixed messages. As with any organization there are some good and mediocre employees. My last comment is around the finance person (Dakota), once again another employee who was dismissive, insulting and rude during our conversation but you cant ask must of finance people, although when I bought my Infiniti the finance person was lovely.Overall a tense experience which had breaks of sunshine and humanity with some of the employees. I may return but avoid some people.

I only let PEARSON work on my 2013 Mazda 3 since moving to Richmond. Recently I have been having trouble with a battery that was only a little over a year old installed by PEARSON. After having it jump started multiple times, I finally had to have it towed in. Since they wanted to keep it to see why it was losing its charge, they supplied a loaner car so that I could get to work. However, after not being able to discover the problem, I was worried that it would happen again. BUT, their service manager Jud Dauray, jumped right in before they pulled my car around and had a NEW BATTERY put in within 15 minutes as he said perhaps there was a defective cell that was causing my battery to lose it’s charge. To have a caring service manager and team like PEARSON that stands behind their work means so very much and I highly recommend them. I won’t take my car anywhere else.
Dealer is very unprofessional when it comes to following up on simple request and making things right with the customer . I purchased a truck for my business from this dealer almost going on two months . And still have not received the title or tags . I requested to pick up the tags and title and the dealer still decided to mail to my office . Now in a perfect world this mistake would be fine if my mail from my office wasn’t getting forwarded to our business PO Box . So now I have made the dealer aware of the issue and no one is returning my calls or following up with me. Thanks for treating me like valued customer. I have received better service and follow up at a buy here pay here lot . 🗣

Car service is fine, but expensive. In my experience, the diagnostic fee wasnt included in the price quoted over the phone when I OKd the service. It was a surprise to see a much higher price when I showed up to pay.
Not certain what I wanted when I went by, Scott explained the features and differences of a number of models to help me choose. Even reviewed the pros and cons of new vs used. Found a CX-5 that suits me perfectly. The process of buying was easy and my new SUV is great
The Pearson Mazda Dealership team is always super friendly and outgoing (for the most part). The service department is the best place to get your Mazda serviced because you’d be getting you car serviced with OEM parts. Granted I’m giving the dealership 4 stars mainly due to the long wait times I’ve experienced while waiting for service to be completed on my vehicle over the years (even prior to COVID-19).

Pearson provided amazing service the weekend of July 30. I got new tires, oil change, induction cleaning and an alignment. The tires couldnt be installed until Monday, so Pearson provided me with a loaner.

People worked hard to be helpful —salesman George and manager Freddie. However the car leasing numbers game is antiquated. They printed me high level docs showing me the approx monthly payment, but no one wanted to show the specific locked down numbers until signing...They also did not tell me there was a >300$ restock fee after 3 yr lease and only because I read my docs while signing did I HAVE to ask THEM what the charge was for. I was told oh everyone has it and ours is lower than most...They quoted me a payment amount and said it was with gap coverage, 5k down and 15k miles a year but it was on a prior other color car ( same model and version) and my car color was slightly cheaper. Then when I showed them my car was 300 cheaper and I was actually putting down 500$. More, they quoted me a payment of 4$ less....even though all along they and I had been talking that every 1000. Difference made ~ 30. $ Difference...Obviously this was 800.$ lower that I now owed which meant my payment should drop by ~27.$ vs $4.Overall, makes me not trust this dealership as they simply want you to say you are ok wuth a number and then they do not know how to show the numbers in the details to someone like myself who is a numbers person and attention to details..

I have been bringing my 2005 Ford Focus to this dealership for years to have it serviced and maintained. I always trust them to treat me fairly, be informative, and offer a good price for services rendered. If it is something that they cannot fix (since I drive a 15 year old Ford), they will always refer me to somebody who they believe can help me. I truly do highly recommend this dealership, and Mazda automobiles in general.
I recently visited Pearson Mazda to get a diagnostic test performed on my Mazda 3 due to the check engine light going on and off in the dashboard. When I called to inquire about diagnostic testing and scheduling an appointment, Judy was very nice and friendly. Once I arrived at the dealership, she made sure I received a loaner vehicle so I wouldn’t have to sit and wait for my car. I received a call the same day to let me know that my vehicle was ready. I was informed that it was something very simple that triggered the check engine light. I am so happy the issue was resolved and that I can drive with no warning lights coming on in the dashboard. Purchased a Certified Pre-owned Mazda from a different dealership in NoVA, but experienced mechanical issues on the drive back to Richmond. Called Pearson the next day and my experience could not have gone any better. They were able to get me scheduled the same day for drop-off, even though every other dealer had a couple of weeks wait. They were even able to get me into a loaner vehicle. Service Advisor Alan was extremely knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Communicated well from start to finish and had my repairs completed within a day or two. Even went above and beyond to work with the dealer I purchased the vehicle from to work out all of the details and payments at no cost to me.Will definitely be taking care of all my service needs here and future purchases.
I took my 2016 Mazda MX-5 in a couple weeks ago for a transmission due to a gear failing. Judy in service was very easy to deal with and communicate with, and went beyond my expectations as a technician myself. I got the car back sooner than I expected, much to my joy, and they provided a loaner car to me free of charge for the time my car was in for the transmission replacement. Will definitely bring my car back if any issues arise later on that would be covered under my extended warranty or that I cant deal with myself.

Great experience from the time I walked into the door. No high pressure and everyone was very courteous and professional. The credit manager was very helpful and polite and explained my options. I also appreciated the social distancing that I witnessed and saw everyone practicing. The GM was polite and friendly. I have purchased several vehicles here in the past, and the service is one of the main reasons I keep returning.
Firstly, I’ve never had a better experience with a dealership. I’m not new to the Pearson family but this was my first time working with Mazda. Scott, James, and Mike took care of me like I was their family. They saw what horrible situation I was in with CarMax and just wanted to make sure I got out, even if it wasn’t with them. While waiting for paperwork to be finalized, Scott say me down and gave me life advice and made sure I knew how to improve my credit in the future. I’m grateful to be back with Pearson.

On Wednesday in December 11th, I purchased a Mazda 6 2017 Touring from Pearson Mazda on West broad in Richmond. I worked with Joe Jackson who worked diligently on the price I was able to pay for a vehicle. Coincidentally, I worked with Mr. Jackson in 2012 when he worked at Sheehy Nissan on West broad. Both experiences were great and I definitely recommend him if you are interested in purchasing a Mazda. (So even though this review has 2 stars - Joe gets 5 stars!)However, there is a downside to my experience with Pearson Mazda. On Saturday 12/14, my husband and I drove from Williamsburg to Richmond to drop off my newly purchased vehicle at Pearson Madza for remote start installation and was given a 2018 Mazda Grand Touring VIN - JM1GL1TY6J1324918, as a loaner. On Sunday 12/15 night, I had issues with the safety brake system (SBS) which caused the car to abruptly stop and sputter in the middle of the road(very scary during Christmas traffic)! I was advised to clean the emblem in front of the car just in case there was dirt on the sensor -after that the car was fine.On Monday 12/15, the loaner started to stall once again after driving for 30 minutes. The dash had several malfunction messages along with a check engine light. Once I explained the car was inoperable, the dealership towed the car from Newport News back to Richmond. I was then informed my car will be ready for pickup on Tuesday 12/16, so my husband and I did not drive all the way to Richmond to pick up a new loaner. I made arrangements for work on Tuesday but when I called later that evening, I was told my car will not be ready until Wednesday 12/17 morning. I told them this was not going to work as I need to go to work Wednesday morning.I called Pearson Mazda and spoke to a manager, Freddy. Freddy made my car available for pickup Tuesday night. I appreciated the efforts, however I explained my frustration and safety concern to Freddy about the car stopping and sputtering in the middle of the road twice. Since I was given a bad loaner and was out of a car for a day, I decided to ask if anything could be done about the inconvenience ( 2 free oil changes or something...anything!).His response was, I dont have the authorization to offer you anything. Also, we are dealing with machines here. We wouldnt purposely put a customer in a faulty vehicle..But, you never know, things happen. There was a moment of silence -so I just said, ok, thank you.This is all true... however a customer who JUST bought a car from a company does not want to hear something that basically sounds like,Sucks that happened to you, but hey, sh*t happens! As I stated, after expressing my concern and how I felt unsafe, something could have been done to soften the blow of my experience.

Bought a CX5 Signature from them and we couldnt be happier - and with COVID and my restrictions against being able to travel to Richmond they brought the car to us. Fantastic team Kimberly was amazing in providing information along and answering all our questions - and Freddie the Sales Manager was great also - making sure that everything went according to plan. Trust me having dealt with a lot of other dealers from Mercedes to infiniti (WHO WERE DISHONEST) and to then happily and finally ending up at Pearson Mazda. I would recommend going somewhere else. No offense to the staff. the staff is wonderful but I recently took my car there because my check engine light was on. I was fine with the diagnostics fee of $130 but they had my car there for 3 days. so I also did a state inspection. Okay $150 not bad. my inspection was rejected and some how my total went up to $460. I just dont see the reasoning in paying $405 for labor when the parts are less then 30 dollars. there is also extra fees in there that Im not even sure what the charge was for. My car was serviced somewhere else on the same day with an state inspection sticker approved. almost $500 that I dont have just down the drain.

This was my first big girl car buying experience, and in the end, I was really pleased! I personally worked with Kyle to find the right car for me. I landed on a white 2019 CX-5! Kyle was never pushy and did everything he could to properly explain the leasing process, as well as the different car options/features.I was definitely nervous and skeptical going in to Pearson because I havent had super positive experiences in other locations looking for a new vehicle. However, the entire staff was friendly, patient, and very responsive. I will definitely recommend Kyle and his colleagues to friends and family in the future.
After a less than ideal experience at a competitor Mazda dealership accross town the service at Pearson Mazda was fantastic. Mel knows the products inside and out and was more than willing to take the time to test drive multiple cars and go through the details and compare the differences. The sales process was straightforward and easy, and they gave me more for my trade than CarMax offered. I would send anyone in the market for a new car to this dealership.

Went in a little close to closing time not really expecting to walk out in an hour. But let me tell you they were awesome.
