I wish I lived closer to this awesome place! It is really accessible and easy to get to from the highway. They have a “Modern Diner“ which has a really great Brunch selection (the Classic American Breakfast is my favorite). The Coffee shop has free wifi, and is the PERFECT study spot or place to work remotely.

Amazing experience. We tried their version of a flat white, and a Chi Tea....Both were out of this world. The decor gives one the sense of home to a small degree. Comfortable, safe and relaxed. I highly recommend:)

Communion is such an amazing local spot in Richardson. It is truly a gem. I’ve been here for breakfast, brunch, dinner, and we even had our wedding rehearsal dinner here (in 2020). Everyone commented all night on how delicious the food was, how perfect the place was, and how friendly the staff was! I couldn’t have asked for a better place for our special night. They even opened up the garage doors and we were in and out playing ping pong, fooseball, and bean bag toss. It was such a fun night! And anytime I’ve taken family from out of town somewhere to eat, it’s been Communion - the food is ALWAYS great, no matter what you get! People are friendly, and atmosphere is great. Highly recommend!!

I’ve been going here since they opened. I’ve enjoyed lot of coffee (the iced oat milk latte with lavender and the hot almond cardamom lattes are my favorite). The diner is also delicious. I honestly haven’t had the food in a year or so, but it’s a great local spot to stop for lunch. They also have a bar in the diner, which is nice. It’s a great addition to Richardson Heights.

This place is perfect for our neighborhood. We love the owners and they have created a space that welcomes everyone!

I was very excited to explore this spot, since I work from home and am always looking for new places to work from! From pictures it seemed that there was plenty of space to work, but when I arrived that was not the case. There is a small space indoors with not many plugs and some outdoor spots. Also the WiFi was spotty and not working. There is a separate area you can pay monthly for which includes plenty of seating (collaborative and individual) or for a cover charge of $25.Overall, I was just a little disappointed since this structure I was not expecting, but there’s great coffee and a good environment if your plan is mainly conversations and coffee:)

Just left there. Love the atmosphere, feel of this place. Food was great, service was great thanks to our server Brian and the Manager Wade. The whole time there me and my wife saw Wade taking tickets, serving food, taking plates, washing dishes. The man was everywhere helping. A true leader. Any place with that kind of leadership behind everything is guaranteed to flourish. All the best!

Good coffee in a trendy hipster/industrial setting. I liked this place, but the seating is not the most comfortable or inviting except for one well-worn sofa. Tables are small, so more than 2 people might be hard to seat together.

Incredibly friendly staff and very tasty food. I thoroughly enjoyed the nice quiet atmosphere and the baristas in the coffee shop were legitimately fun to talk to and personable. It is places like this that really make the experience more than just sitting down to put food in your mouth but a nice enjoyable meal in a wonderful atmosphere

This is a delightful place thats a little hidden off of the beaten bath but worth the find. Its beautiful inside and the staff is very friendly and wonderful. We had the pleasure of meeting Neal and Hannah. The food is delicious, try the biscuits, theyre great. They have whole wheat pancakes that I look forward to trying Theres a very large porch area for outside seating and a bus converted into a play area for children. You will enjoy your visit here.

Best latte I’ve ever had in my life. Truly an inspirational experience. The baristas knowledge in the art of coffee superseded the requirements for the job. Also their honey ginger syrup slaps.

We recently moved to richardson in July and have become regulars here. The tacos and baked goods, the coffee & the amazing service… this place is the whole package! Definitely our favorite coffee stop in the area! Great coffee and wonderful baristas. Haven’t had a bad experience once and we come several times a week.

Best brunch I’ve had in a while. We shared the avocado toast, huevos rancheros and the French toast and loved them all! Definitely will be back!

I wasnt going to post a review, but they sent me an email asking for one, so here we go. I grew up in Richardson and recently moved to Grand Prairie. This week I was in the area for a job. I recently graduated college to be a teacher and yesterday there was a virtual job fair for Dallas ISD from 4-6. My hot spot on my phone hasnt been working for some reason. So I needed a place locally to attend this virtual job fair. I got out of work at 430 and went to the library...I no longer have a Richardson address on my license so they would not let me in. I tried to call Communion ahead of time in hopes they would help me out with their work space for an hour to attend this virtual job fair. They didnt answer. I showed up and asked one of the workers. He explained that I would need to pay for a membership or a $25 day pass. Even if I just needed for an hour. I felt that they could have been a little more compassionate as part of the community and it was a little off-putting. I was planning on at least buying a coffee or something but had to leave to find somewhere else that could accommodate me.

We enjoyed the food and coffee, especially the french toast is perfection. Good service.

This my favorite coffee shop in the Richardson area. They have a great outdoor seating area where we love to come when the weather is good!

Cool coffee shop. Great design & atmosphere. Modern dallas feel. Food is good, but pricey for the small portions. Only about half of the venue is free to the public. The other half is part of a membership type of thing.

The coffee is pretty good. 2 single origin options, both decent, apparently they change roasters quarterly, most of the baristas at know what they are doing, every drink Ive gotten has been good.My qualm is related to their service... Why would you serve coffee in a to-go cup to someone sitting down, reading a book? Even when I ask for a real cup, they sometimes give me a to-go cup. Please, stop...

Neat little spot. Kind of confusing for first timers. There are at least three entrances. It was my third try (all the way to the left) before I found the coffee. I think some signs above the door would be nice and helpful for new visitors as I saw someone else being walked from the coffee entrance to the bar one. LolOur cappuccinos were great. Good foam. Very pretty. Nice brew.Unfortunately, there were no pastries as they missed the order that day for some reason. It was a downer because we’d promised our girls a treat. Luckily they had yogurts and honest kids juice that made my youngest happy.Overall, a good experience. Nice outdoor spots with couches. Lots of hookups for computers inside. Didn’t go into the other areas, just coffee. It’s also got a great parking lot and looked friendly to accessibility needs.

Small menu options, good coffee. Horrible parking. Id go back again but not if I have to circle the parking lot more than twice.

This is definitely my new favorite coffee spot! Service, ambiance, and, most importantly, superb coffee! I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

Came to this coffee shop to do some work -- Based on the pictures, it seemed like the shop had plenty of space to study/work, which prompted me to choose this place over other coffee shops. After ordering my drink, the employees stated that there was a fee of $25/person to access the larger rooms, and the free room to do work was extremely small with limited seating. I have never come across a coffee shop that charged their customers to access their seating area. Not only this, but the free WiFi is only free after 1 hour of use per device. Again, I have NEVER come across a coffee shop that charges their customers for WiFi after a period of time. This coffee shop just wants to ink you for your money. Please do not come here and waste your time like I did.

Really enjoyed their food and coffee slushy. My husband and I have had food to go twice. French toast with berries and bananas is great as is the huevos rancheros.

Ate here for the first time 2 month ago and have been back every weekend since. This place is absolutely AMAZING with great food and staff.

Stopped here for a quick boost. Everyone was really cool. The drinks were great and the weather was perfect for enjoying our drinks on a patio bench.

I tried the Mac and cheese with ham last night and I must say it was really good. It was creamy but not overly cheesy and thick. Nice toasted crumbs on top made it just prefect. I tried the wagyu meatballs. They have a great flavor but the gravy is too much if you dont have someone to share it with. They have iced tea but no sweet tea so youll have to sweeten it to your liking. On both visits I found the staff friendly. I could overhear the staff discussing the cheese they were taste testing and excited about a new beer they were putting on the menu made me feel they were dedicated to their menu. Im not sure I would go out of my way to eat here since I live in Plano but if Im in the area and wanted some Mac and cheese I would go here. Very nice chill atmosphere.

I really wanted to like this place, but its a no for me. I went here for brunch and the breakfast was bland. Im giving it a 3-star because the coffee was actually pretty good.

Let me start by saying they have a great iced oat milk blueberry latte. (3 stars) Now let me tell you why the modern diner is getting a 1 star.We were warned at the start that they only had 1 chef and the food would take 40-45 minutes. Once our order was placed we were never helped again and waited for over an hour for our food that we had to ask for several times. The food was tasteless, cold & unacceptable.My fiancé never received her food out of the 9 of us that were there because they never made it.I asked for a side of Mayo 3 times and here’s what was brought instead of Mayo.1. A menu2. Said they didn’t have Mayo3. Salt and pepper (LOL)4. Mayo. (Finally)We will never be eating at the modern diner in the future due to this experience.

Ive been here multiple times with our young adult community for fellowship nights. Today I was at the coffee shop for a couple of hours to work and headed to the bar for lunch! Great service, great staff and the burger I had was AMAZING!

Really cool spot. You dont need to be using the business space to frequent the coffee shop/restaurant side. Met a friend for coffee and we enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and drinks. In front of the building is currently under construction, but theyre open!

Coming to Communion is sort of confusing! If you’re like me and are looking to get some work done at the coffee shop, you should know most pictures you see online of the spacious work areas are of the co-working space that you have to pay to work inside of. The actual coffee shop is very small. I wouldn’t come back here to work. I would if I were just hanging out though.I had a pour over from the coffee shop and then went to the restaurant for lunch and actually enjoyed my coffee at the restaurant more.

Nice room for you and 130 of your closest friends. It has that unfinished warehouse look. Good for a casual gathering but a bit too rough for classy weddings. We held a church meeting event and its fine for that but when all 130 people are talking the acoustics make it impossible to hear your neighbor!

My daughter and I enjoyed a couple of velvety smooth lavender lattes at Communion recently. This local gem is warm and inviting with plenty of comfortable outdoor and cozy indoor seating options. They have several food items available if youre hungry and a cute walk up window for togos. The staff is charming and eager to serve. We will soon return to this trendy coffee shop for more deliciousness!

Full marks! I’m a coffee fanatic and am very particular about where I get my coffee. Communion knows their stuff. Novel beans pulled perfectly on a Synesso machine. Peak grinders. All top of the line equipment complimented by top of the line baristas. The icing on top is the friendly service and great space. Job well done Communion, this area needed a third wave shop and you have delivered!

Just a great, bright restaurant spot with impeccable service and wonderful food. The café serves yummy coffee and their merchandising is impeccable!

Customer service was great, but I was missing the wow factor, or their signature coffee... or something to make them stand out, or give me a reason not to go a cross the street to Starbucks for cheaper coffee with a larger variety to choose from.

I love coffee, this place is just not for me. The cold brew is on point. Their lattes are hit or miss depending on who makes them.

Its not just coffee, the food is amazing... breakfast or dinner. Coffee or cocktails. Theyve got it all! Annie is the best bartender and barista combination, hit her up for old fashions or test her coffee knowledge. #fabulous

Love spending time at Communion Coffee & Eats.Great for groups, a date, or grabbing some coffee. Flash brew, cappuccino, or a nitro cold brew is the way to go! Not to mention they have a great food selection, full bar, and a covered patio.

French toast was excellent and cute decor!

Food is well made, but not exactly memorable. Menu is a little on the boring side. Service is also pretty slow. It has potential for a higher rating, but after 3 visits at three different times and trying different dishes, Im just not wowed. I feel like they could do so much better if they put a little more passion into what they do..

Comfortable setup. Plenty of seating with high chairs, bar stools, and couches. I wish the music wasnt as loud. I also hope they can ask some of their customers to respect the environment and not be so loud.This was probably the best vanilla latte Ive had though!

It was a nice cafe but a little crowded for my taste.

If I can give negative stars I would, it was my first time to visit their coffee shop and saw two of the employees not wearing their mask and talking to one of the customer near the register not maintaining six feet either. If the management ever read my post I want to ask them if they really care about this community and do they truly value their customers well being.

Atmosphere is great but coffee and wifi are not. I needed to get some work done so I needed wifi but their WiFi didnt allow me to check my Gmail or Facebook or Dropbox. Kinda defeats the purpose.

I sat for 15 minutes without being waited on. I explained why I was leaving but got no apology or explanation.

Awesome community to collaborate and network

This place was pretty cool. Its exactly what its titled, a neighborhood cooperative. Its interesting because there are three different parts of what looks like could be one building with three different entry ways; coffee shop, restaurant, and the community room. Theyre considered separate entities but work as one to create an experience. This is the first Ive encountered something like this, you can pay for a membership to access the community room.I went to the coffee shop to get some work done. Everyone was really nice, it was nice and clean with great lighting. The coffee shop was a on the smaller side. Not sure if pricing for a membership, I heard it’s on the expensive side. Really cool concept though !

My son and I take this place off of Google maps and went to try it out. Definitely hey high quality experience. The server, whose name was Abigail, was extremely informant with all of those questions I had. Maybe she thoughtI was a little crazy because I have so many questions about the french fries :-). Also the Barista came to our table and talked through the coffees that were available. I chose a extremely delicious homemade cherry pie and an Americano made with a single origin Ethiopian espresso. Mmmmmm!!!!
