If I could give negative rating this place would receive it due to the service department. Not only lied about the status of repairs while it was there for 7 days but caused damage (large rock chip in windshield) during 90 miles on speedometer without even cleaning it after and still didnt have the paperwork completed when I arrived to pick it up despite 2 days since stated completed. Oh and someone actually urinated on the floor in bathroom and service didnt even close it after notoce. FAIL. Go to Wilkerson in SLC

I bought my TL 4 years ago from Acura of Reno and have had it serviced there ever since. They are always friendly and professional. It is easy to setup an appointment and the car is returned clean and complete. Ive never had any problems.
I have never been treated so poorly. The service manager Brian was degrading and rude, didnt care to find the problem I brought my vehicle in for and instead suggested ordering parts to just see if it would fix anything.Second experienceI brought my car in to my service advisor also Brian, who I have built a rapport with, to hopefully fix the original problem. While the vehicle was there, I asked that it be detailed as well. When I returned to pick up my vehicle the hood and windshield were ruined. The windshield was brand new when I dropped it off and now had pits in it that matched pits in the hood. Brian said he would figure out what happened and would call me the following business day. When I spoke with Brian next, he said it was obviously my own doing, though I hadnt driven the vehicle other than to the dealership since the windshield was installed. He was very clear that I had driven it there and then with the master tech, and then driven by the master tech and Brian so obviously the damage occurred during those drive times. Service Manager Brian stated the same as Service advisor Brian. We then asked for the dealership owners phone number and have left 3 messages with no return call. I have also made a complaint at the corporate offices which did nothing as well. I will never go to this dealer again and suggest you find somewhere else as well.Not to mention Brian Robinson is very inappropriate when speaking to female clients

Service center is clean, prompt and polite. The waiting area has free snacks, both cold and hot drinks, and comfortable chairs. The price of service is very fair, and both times they have washed and vacuumed my car before returning it to me! Although I drive a different make of vehicle, I will continue to take it to Acura of Reno for service!
We hadnt bought a car from a dealer since 2005 and honestly werent looking forward to it. We had been looking for the right used car for a couple of months and finally found the perfect vehicle at Acura of Reno. We called and spoke with Canaan Peterson and he was able to answer all of our questions. We were flying in from Boise and driving the car back, so we wanted to make sure the car met all of our needs. I flew out, Canaan picked me up at the airport. The car was as described and Canaan even took care of a couple minor details that he saw before we got there. The transaction went smoothly and my negative opinion of a dealership were pleasantly alleviated. Canaan was a pleasure to do business with and would highly recommend him.

We used to love this dealership. We bought one car here and maintained both of our cars at their shop because they had excellent service. Recently we tried to buy a new car from them and the experience was horrible - dirty negotiations and a complete waste of time. We were already frustrated that the service level had gone down at the shop in the last year or two. Unfortunate. We really enjoyed giving them business for the last 10 years but were done.
Excellent experience with the Service department. Had appointment and car was taken in immediately. We were escorted to the waiting lounge where there was TV, Coffee, soft drinks and light snacks. Doesnt get any better than that.
Typical sales experience. After a test-drive, salesman told me he had to go inside to get his card when I asked for it. I told him I was leaving and didnt have time for that game and he told me I was being rude to him. I kindly told him I wasnt being rude to him. He persisted, telling me hed been nice to me, why would I be like that. I rolled my eyes and left (as hes pulling a card out of his pocket). He sent a handwritten card thereafter, never mentioning that confrontation and now hes calling me to follow up. This is why people dont like buying cars...

All went well until it took 20 minutes to calculate and agree upon the final bill. The problem was the computer billing was not set up to calculate the 20% off on the battery purchase. And the service reps could not agree on what was 20% off of $210. A painful, time consuming process.

I recently purchased a 2017 Acura ILX Premium A-Spec from Acura of Reno, and I was assisted by Canaan Peterson. The entire experience was excellent! He did as much as he could via email before I even stepped foot in the dealer. Once there, we went on a nice long test drive and had great conversation. I never once felt pressured to make a purchase, and he made me feel at ease while making sure he answered all my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. He waited patiently for me to make a 40 minute phone call, and once I made the decision to pull the trigger, the entire process took less than 45 minutes. The dealer gave me a great price on both my trade-in and my purchase price. I was extremely pleased with the entire experience and I will definitely purchase from both Canaan and Acura of Reno when the time comes.

Acura MDX- Low miles less than $30k (at last service) and every time we take it in there it costs a FORTUNE ($643.62) for the standard service work this last time! We have already had to have the brakes turned and there has been no aggressive driving with it. Think twice before you purchase one of these cars!
Extremely disappointed with this dealerships sales presentation tactics. While having my vehicle serviced I test drove an 2019 RDX. I have been deciding between this vehicle and a Volvo xc60. The salesperson was quite nice, helpful, engaging.. The owner, Mr. Chu also seemed professional and sincere. I do believe they had a sale, until, duh duh duh, enter a bruno, the money dude this bruno was very insulting, very demeaning, treated me with zero respect or credibility. He challenged my every word/concern. He Insisted I was there to lease a vehicle. After I told him NO 3 times I left the dealership never to return. I will not even take my vehicle there for servicing. These sales tactics are straight out of the 20th century. In the age of savvy internet car shoppers Acura of Reno can and should do better. I have owned bmws, acuras, and now infiniti so I would like to think I have a bit of experience. Shame on you Acura of Reno, Neillo in Sacramento does a much better job, and, it is only 90 minutes away !
Was in the process of purchasing a used Acura RDX 2019. It had to have some work done to it to be certified to sell to me. The manager kept telling me he would update me never did I had to press for information which shouldn’t be the case. They were not willing to negotiate on pricing at all. I ended up going to Niello Acura in Roseville gave me a killer deal on a 2020 new one instead. When I told the manager to cancel my hold on the car he didn’t even seem to care of losing business. Sales person there was very nice and professional but management was horrible. Happy with my purchase in California plus they honor Costco you get discounts on everything.

This is more of a review about Acura as a brand than the dealership. There was a time when Sony was the premiere brand in electronics. Then, to me, Sony lost its edge. Similarly, to me, Honda / Acura had been the brand for cars. Ive had Honda / Acura cars for over 20 years. More recently, I feel that Honda / Acura has lost its own edge. The 9-speed electronic transmission operates poorly and -- to me -- unsafely. The brand seems to be very slow to roll out certain technologies. It did not incorporate Apple CarPlay / Android Auto into the MDX until the 2018 model year. I still have my 2005 MDX with over 360K miles -- I love it. But, Im not looking to the brand for new purchases.
Their service department is exceptional. They have won multiple awards from Acura for being #1 or 2 in the nation and they strive to keep that status.

I bought a certified used 2013 RDX and have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the car, dealership, and service department. Secret sauce in service? Just ask for Santi--he is amazing and always right on in terms of pricing, service needs, and timing. That is not to say that anyone else is not, but it is to say that my experiences working with Santi could not have been better. I wont take my car anywhere else for service and may not buy cars anywhere else in the future.

I was in Reno for my bothers funeral, and because we had driven my care from Seattle WA. we realized that my care needed bakes, so we took in for service. We were told that it would be about 2 to 3 hours so they gave us a loaner. To make a long story short! the service was awful and after test driving my care 3 times the brakes were NOT done correctly, my care would shake and would make loud scratching noises. I wouldnt recommend this place to any one!!!

The sales department might be OK but the Service Department is horrible. First their customer service is poor at best. They lie and are deceptive. My first experience with the service department was purchasing and having them install a tow package on our MDX. This required a new valance for the rear bumper which I paid for at Acura of Reno. Later I find out they did not install the new valance I purchased but instead used a hacksaw to trim the old valance to fit the tow hitch. Dishonest practices abound at Acura of Reno. I brought this to their attention and they refunded my purchase but denied any responsibility to the matter.The second instance occurred when we purchased a set of Michelin Latitude tires for the MDX. One tire was defective and blew out a sidewall. This occurred on a holiday weekend and they did not have a tire in stock so I made an appointment for July 03. When I arrived the service manager, Brian Robinson was rude uninformative and deceptive. First he would not inspect the tire with me and would not provide written proof of the tread measurements. They would not warranty the tire and instead claimed the tire sustained sidewall damage from hitting something. However there is no evidence to support that lie because the tire blew out from the inside out. Clearly a defective tire. I had my son who is a mechanical engineer look at the tire and he too felt the tire was defective. On top of this my appointment was at 2:30 and by the time the tire was installed it was 4:45, nearly 2 hours to remove, inspect, mount, balance and install one tire. Acura of Reno is nothing to deal with-stay AWAY!!!!! Perhaps in this era of low unemployment Brian Robinson was the best they could do in finding an employee. I am not finished with this matter and will be contacting the General Manager to see if he has any customer service or for that matter a spine.

We had the most exceptionally amazing experience of buying a new RDX from Acura of Reno, I will forever only buy my vehicles through them! I had wanted to purchase a new car for over a year and have visited many car dealerships in Reno to get a feel for what I really wanted. I hated visiting these dealerships and always felt overwhelmed and pressured by salesman. NOT my experience here!! I was so pleased and surprised with the car buying experience I received at Acura of Reno. I had the pleasure of working with Tom Diefendorf, General Manager and Grady Bowden, Senior Sales Associate. From the moment my significant other and I walked through the door, we felt like family. Tom Diefendorf greeted us at the door and offered us a beverage. Tom began by first giving us a tour of the facility/introducing us to the different departments. Tom then introduced us to Grady Bowden. He sat with me and asked what it was I was interested in. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He then handed us the keys so we could take a test drive and get a feel for the car. We fell in love with the RDX! Grady worked with us on the purchase price and made the process of buying our new RDX fun and easy. NO STRESS!!! Such an easy purchase process. Lastly, after signing the paperwork, Grady then took the time to sit with me in the car and go over every inch/button. He even helped me link my phone to the car. Grady even followed up with me later to make sure I was enjoying my new car (so nice of him). I never thought the process of buying a new car would be this fun and stress free. My experience was truly above and beyond, and I cannot say enough amazing things about Acura of Reno, thanks to Tom Diefendorf and Grady Bowden!!! I would also like to say that I have never been to a car dealership or any business really where the employees are all smiles and genuinely love their jobs. My significant other and I kept commenting to each other how happy all the staff was to be at work. You guys are definitely doing something right in more ways than one!!!! Thank you soooo much!!!
Low pressure sales and great service department
I leased a MDX, however when the lease was finished, I was told I would owe $6,000. In order to avoid that cost, the saleman said I could buy another car. Neither Nelson or Bret offered to extend the lease, which after much followup, I found I could have done. I purchased a vehicle that has sat in my driveway, not even registered since because it is not what I need. I feel if Grady, my original salesman had been there, he would have guided me in the direction i needed, not just sold me a car. Very disappointed, as I had nothing but a top notch experience prior to this last SALE. I think Mr Cho would be very disappointed to know that his team would strong arm a customer into a deal. I know I am.

My Facebook Review: 3-23-2016: These fraudsters tried to scam me while servicing my vehicle. DO NOT USE ACURA OF RENO!!! They will lie and cheat you on unnecessary bogus repairs and then file a warranty claim to try and get even more money without you knowing. They put a front up to look all high end and classy, but they are just as bad as any other shady dealership/mechanic. Only go here if you know something about cars or have someone who does know with you. Due to posting my experience on facebook, I now know that 4 other friends have had issues just as bad and one issue was even worse. STAY FAR AWAY. Go to Reno Toyota or Honda. Although we strive to be the best customer oriented dealership, some bad experiences are due to miscommunication. Upon inspection, you guys claimed my spark plugs were fouled and my battery was dead. I told several people this since you guys wanted to charge me almost $600 to complete the repairs. I dont know a lot about cars and I am not going to freely give out $600 without doing my research. These items werent covered by my warranty so I had to pay out of pocket. Each person told me Acura of Renos diagnostic didnt make sense and the service paper you guys gave me 3 days prior to the repair proved my battery was fine. With the advice I received from others, I took my car to the mechanic my family has used and trusted for many years. I paid for the tow and the 2nd diagnostic knowing in my gut Acura was being 100% dishonest. My mechanic inspected the vehicle and found out the timing chain guide was broken. Which WAS covered by the warranty. They checked my spark plugs and battery first and determined they were just fine. Unfortunately the warranty wouldnt work with my mechanic unless we make the suggested repairs by Acura. Once that didnt work, we had to take several pictures and document everything in order for the warranty to cover their work.This experience became a nightmare for me when it all could have been avoided. I am now out several hundred dollars for false diagnostics, tows, and unnecessary repairs. I could probably sue, but Acura or Reno is not worth my time. Your general manager is extremely rude and if you guys truly believed in good customer service, you would reimburse me for the costs I have had to eat due to the dishonesty from Acura of Reno. I feel like I was scammed and I refuse to be yelled at and treated poorly by your general manager. Obviously if he cant be professional or even TRY to do something to right this wrong, then there is nothing left for me to do here. There is also no reason why I would take my car back to Acura of Reno to re-diagnose when I already had my car fixed by my trusted mechanic. I gave you guys $130 alone to FALSELY diagnose my car and you guys have yet to even offer that back to me. I think THAT, if nothing else should be redundable. Especially since you guys know your diagnosis was wrong.You guys have the power to do the right thing and how you respond to this could either be a good advertisement for Acura of Reno or a bad one. A HID headlight on our 2005 Acura RL, with 99K miles on it, started blinking occasionally and recently didnt turn on unless I rotated the on/off switch again. Normally we drive 2 hrs to Elk Grove, CA, Acura, where we bought the car and whose service department we completely trust. However, we needed to get this checked before leaving on a long driving trip and decided to try Acura of Reno. I checked with Elk Grove Acura by phone first and asked what they thought the cause(s) of the problem might be. When I called the Reno Acura, I first spoke with Todd of the parts department to see if he had the potential needed parts and he repeated what the E.G. Acura folks said and transferred me to Brian, Service Consultant, who proposed the same potential causes. After taking in the car, Brian tried to reach me twice that afternoon but I missed his calls. The next day he said a bulletin had been issued to replace the HID bulb and he had ordered one for us. It was replaced as scheduled and he said to check it out because the controller and igniter components, if needed, would cost over $500. We had to pay the $120 diagnostic fee and $160 for the bulb, but not the installation labor. He called to follow-up the next day and so far we havent had a recurrence of the problem. I thanked him, because he could have easily convinced us to replace the bulb, controller and/or the igniter since we need the car for our trip. We consider our first visit to Acura of Renos Service Dept. a 5* experience and will continue to use and recommend their service department if their service continues to be as good and honest as our first visit. BTW, Elk Grove Acura charges $135/hour for diagnostic services.
