Without the tremendous help from Ray Kong, my moms dream of owning a Porsche would not have come true. Ray was not only attentive, but extremely caring/understanding in accommodating for every request (large or small) my mom had for her new car.Ray was extremely adaptable/resourceful as well, our car buying experience actually started online (through WeChat) to make sure there was a car on the lot that matched my moms specific preferences. The very next day we met with Ray and after hours of talking/test driving/going over tips about the car, we were able to drive away in a brand new Porsche!

Top notch place for buying a car and, of course, especially a Porsche. We had something specific in mind and had been browsing inventory on Cars.com. Redwood City had the Cayenne Hybrid we were considering and we were able to set up an appointment with Sam to take a test drive. Right now we can just have 1 driver + the dealer so if you have more than one driver, you may need to take turns. We got some good advice, considered alternatives and did more homework overnight. Next day we came back and bought the car we wanted. Process was pretty painless. They made a good offer on a trade in but we got a slightly better offer at Carmax. The other thing we learned is that cars.com is not that accurate. Dealers will have more up to date inventory and will know exactly what is coming in. Talking to Sam was really helpful in figuring out which car would work well.Bottom line, had a great experience, good excellent help and highly recommend Porsche Redwood City.

They claim to be award winning service, but they try to up sell new tires even though their inspection report says tires were good. They did not tighten bolts to cross members which began causing a chirping noise that they could not diagnose. I had to take car elsewhere to finally diagnose and fix their poor workmanship. This is not a dealership I would recommend for service or sales. They want you to buy from them if you will use their service department but cant deliver good workmanship. This was a long, costly, and painful experience to get resolved. I have had other problems with car ever since they performed a check engine repair, which needed to be repaired as well.

Buying our first Porsche from Porsche Redwood City has been our best car buying experience, especially with the help of our sales rep, Ray Kong. It took us over a year to settle on the car. It went from 997 Turbo, to 718 Spyder, and finally to 992. Ray accommodated us with many test drives, even on extremely short notice. His thorough knowledge of Porsche also made the ordering and delivery experience a breeze. Porsche RWC is also a very cool dealership to visit, especially for Porsche enthusiasts. There are multiple generations of Speedsters, 918, GT3 race car, and even a Porsche tractor in the showroom. Its almost like a mini Porsche museum. Avoid the service department of this dealership. Not trustworthy IMHO. They will try to bill you for work not discussed.I was in the dealership for warranty work. Separately since I was there, I brought a Porsche key fob that I bought elsewhere reprogrammed for my car. Its looks like the same fob used by Porsche. They wanted $250 to reprogram it, which I agreed to.It turned out they could not reprogram it, but wanted $125 for their time despite their failure to reprogram it. No discussion was given to me ahead of time about a charge for their failure to reprogram the key fob. The service manager would not reverse the charge. They would not let me have my original key for my cars warranty work until I paid the $125 charge.I will never take my Porsche 911 to this dealership for service as their financial gain is their focus vs customer satisfaction.

Highly recommend shopping here if youre in the market for a Porsche! I helped my parents do some research for what they wanted, and we ended up here because 1.) a buddy of mine bought his car from them a couple years back and recommended this dealership, and 2.) they had the most inventory out of all other locations in the Bay Area. Had to be a little bit flexible on what my parents wanted vs. what was in stock.I submitted an inquiry online, and got a prompt response from Michael Lustbader. Parents were interested in checking it out based on what he sent back to me. Plus, they had a sale to clear out their MY2020 inventory before the new year.Michael is a solid sales manager. Very patient, addressed all our questions, gave multiple opportunities for us to test drive (while following COVID safety protocols), and took a no-pressure approach in working with my parents. Most importantly, my parents got a good deal for a MY2020 Cayenne before the new year. Alex, the finance manager, also made it pretty easy in closing out the paperwork for my parents. All in all, a smooth and pleasant buying experience for my parents.Summary:1.) Highly recommend this dealership based on selection and buying experience2.) Michael Lustbader is a solid sales rep to work with

What a great experience working with Carlsen Porsche! For over 10 years my career has been involved in purchasing (mainly technology related) and when it comes to shopping for my personal vehicle, i go to great lengths of research. I did a ton of research and comparisons between different brands and models and landed on the fact that the car for me was a GT series 911. Unfortunately Porsche dealerships are not allowed to advertise GT series cars on their websites, so I called literally every single Porsche dealership in California, Nevada, and Arizona to see which cars which dealerships had and what prices they were asking. For anyone new to the GT series world (like i was) dealerships generally dont sell these cars for MSRP or lower - the battle is working to get the dealership to charge the least amount OVER MSRP than the others. So after calling something like 30 dealerships the best deal was at Carlsen Porsche. It was good enough for me to justify buying a plane ticket and flying up to pick up my car and I even drove it 7 hours back home the same night. I worked with Tony Abiog and also with his manager David Saucedo a little as well and they were a positive thinking group of people. When i showed up to pick up my car i got to see the new dealership, which is BEAUTIFUL. They had the car full detailed for me in the technician bay under great lighting since it was dark outside. Tony did a very detailed delivery of my car with me before I headed out. One thing is for sure - this wont be my last Porsche and when Im ready for my next one they will be the first call I make. Thanks again Carlsen Porsche for such a great experience.

We had been to Fremont Porsche and contacted Walnut Creek Porsche before reaching out to Sam, and we were treated so poorly that I thought I would have to buy from a dealer outside of the Bay Area. But I was lucky enough to get in contact and work with Sam. He was awesome and probably the best car salesman Ive worked with to date. When we went to go pick up the car, Ray provided a really thorough delivery experience and Alex, the finance manager, was super efficient and helpful. I also had a trim piece for the window fall off and asked them to glue it (its the least they could have done considering my issue). We wanted to buy my dad a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) Cayenne.Prior to him going to the dealership, I contacted their dealership and was immediately set up with Jason (Cruger). He was efficient and accommodating to our needs and understood exactly what I was looking for. He communicated with me for a few days until we narrowed it down to a few options for my dad to go and take a look and drive the cars. He even offered to come in on his days off to fit to my dads busy schedule.Ive dealt with many dealerships and I can for sure let you know that Redwood City (Carlsen) was eager to make a deal and they were nothing but professional.Due to the funds coming in from overseas, it took a few more days than we had anticipated but he was understanding and offered to finish up paperwork ahead of time so that the delivery would be painless and time-saving.I salute this dealership for their employees and representatives carrying out their sales process in an extremely professional and cooperative manner. It is no wonder that they are a Premier Dealership in the exceedingly competitive California Market.

I continued to send emails and got no responses. I finally went back to site and applied for the cost based on being a active/retired military, USAA, credit union and AAA member and then only them did Mr. Gary Ho reach out to me about another Porsche and told me that 2011 Porsche Panamera was sold. It is frustrating finding the vehicle I want in California and was willing to fly from Fayetteville NC to purchase the vehicle only if the salesman had sent me photo or the dealership had the common courtesy to post active photos on its website which by the way is still stating photos will be posted. Money is green but customer satisfaction and being a relationship with a potential client could have been pricelesd.

Tony Abiog, one of the sales staff, provided an outstanding introduction to this brand of cars. He understood immediately I needed to drive the cars to know what fit me best, so within a minute of arrival, he asked for my drivers license and away we went. Despite rush hour traffic, he never rushed me. Gave me time in the Cayman and the Macan, was patient and unpressured in helping me to understand what distinguishes a Porsche from other brands of cars, and did not make me feel bad when I left, because I had more research to do. No matter which car I buy, or from which dealership it comes, a positive experience goes a long way for most clients and I will certainly visit Carlsen again when I consider future purchases.

They provide loaners, and are great about explaining what needs to be done and doing a good job! If it wasnt for them charging so much over MSRP for new cars and so much for service, the overall rating would be much higher.[SALES] Be ready to pay significant percentage of dealer markup over MSRP (in the range if 20-50% especially if you buy any GT cars from them). 😠If you look at dealerships 1-3 hours away you will find better buying experiences and prices. Or shop around with dealers in other states and have the car transported. Porsche of Walnut Creek is decent.

Review №74

My experience of buying and repairing a Porsche at Carlsen has been quite bad.My brand new car was an ordered car, and I came to pick it up shortly after it arrived at the dealership. The car had a lot of surface clear coat damage (scratches, marring), including damage from the removal of the plastic shipping covers (I dont think they did it right), and from clumsy attempts to remove cover adhesive from the car. This was annoying, but I realized that I could have the car professionally polished, and it would most likely look fine after that. When I drove the car home, I noticed that the ride was harsher than I expected. I checked the tire pressure the next morning when the tires were cold, and they were indeed way overinflated.I then removed the rear license plate frame that the dealership installed, and noticed that the frame scratched the paint on the bumper in the area where it touched the paint. Carlsen uses a metal frame which extends behind the plate - it doesnt just sit on top of the plate. This design causes damage to the paint on the Cayman, and I would imagine the Carrera as well. Basically, you get to serve as an unpaid billboard for Carlsen, and you sustain paint damage for the pleasure. However, the most frustrating part of my ruined new car experience was yet to come. I got a check engine light, and brought the car to Carlsen to have it fixed. They diagnosed the problem, and had to replace a part which failed. A defective part on a new car is disappointing, but it happens, and as long as the dealership does a good job of fixing it, then no big deal.Unfortunately, Carlsen did a sloppy job of it. They caused a whole bunch of additional paint damage while performing the repair - they werent careful and didnt cover the relevant areas while working. Also, they didnt re-install one of the underbody panels under the front of the car correctly. It was done correctly on one side, but not on the other.I complained to the owner, general manager, service manager, and my salesman. The owner and GM never replied. The service manager did call me, and agreed that this was not how things should have been done by the service technicians, but he didnt apologize, and didnt seem to care much. A bizarre thing was that he was more concerned about the fact that they didnt polish the damage after causing it during prep and service rather than the fact that they caused it to begin with. My salesman said that yes, they are not perfect.Im still quite shocked and infuriated by all this. Its the opposite of what I expected from buying a brand new Porsche that I was looking forward to for many years. It really should have been a better experience.
