At The Bike Shop, youre more than a customer. The wonderful Cooper family treats everyone that comes through the bike-sized extra large front door as a friend and neighbor. It doesnt hurt that they have 3 generations of mechanic experience and expertise, and it really doesnt hurt that they have some of the best brands in the biking business under that unique roof. Great people at this local shop. I bought a bike for my daughter for her birthday and they not only stored it there till the party but when the girls model came in they willingly swapped it out with the boys one that I had already purchased so she was even more happy. I’ve shopped here since I was a kid and I’m glad to see they are still in business, we need more local shops like this.

Great family business (40+ years)! I am a 63 year old woman that decided it was time to buy a quality hybrid bicycle. Luckily my husband and I were steered towards The Bike Shop! Knowledgeable owners, comfortable atmosphere of genuine customer caring, and quality products, a welcome relief these days!! I purchased a new Trek bike after being encouraged to ride it in the parking lot. I will be returning to their store for bike maintenance, and other amenities for my lovely bicycle!

Called to see if parts were in stock and asked for clarification on literally one item because they did not have exactly what I wanted, employee refused to answer my question and told me they had a shop full of people to help.

Very friendly & knowledgeable! They donate time & energy to a LOCAL school mountain bike club. Just bought a bike for our daughter. It was perfect...will be back for another soon. Reasonably priced, highly recommend!

BAIT AND SWITCH—May 22, 2019 I visited the Bike Shop in Redding needing to buy a bicycle and short on time. I live out of town, knew I wanted a solid Trek Bike and didn’t want to make more than one trip to buy. Tracey showed me the latest models but had nothing in stock that fit me. So I chose an older model with mechanical disc brakes that was marked down to $450. “Great price,” I remember saying. “Possible to add a backrack?” “Sure,” she said, “for another $45.” “I’ll take it.” 20 minutes later she presented me with the bike, backrack installed, and a sales ticket for $591.74. When I questioned the amount, Tracey insisted, “Oh, that’s correct. We have the price tag back in the shop.” I tried to figure out her sales ticket: “$599.99 bike + $44.99 rack = $644.98 Then add $46.76 tax - $0.00 shipping -$100.00 customer appreciation = $591.74” When I got home it was clear she’d swapped the $450 tag for a $600 full price. With tax I should’ve paid $530.89—skipping her “customer appreciation” markdown. But what’s an extra $60 from a guy in a hurry? You decide.======Since writing this a few days ago, The Bike Shop has refunded the amount in question, and earned a much higher rating from me. Thanks again, Tracey.

Too bad they wont work with you on their prices. I do understand that they are forced to sell FULL RETAIL if they dont do a high volume of sales though. Tough business to own in a small town I suppose.

Bought my first two real bikes from these kind folks, I drove to every bike shop in Redding and I can assure you they were the most helpful, and had the best service. Shortly after I had a slight problem with my front brake(caused by me pulling my own front wheel off) I took my bike in expecting to leave it and they fixed it within minutes. I judge a business by not only how they act when selling the product, but after. And I can assure you the provide awesome service both before and after the sale! Thanks again!

I was recently in need of a new mountain bike. My wife and I live in Burney, so we planned a day to shop as many of the stores in Redding as possible to get a bike that best fit me. The Bike Shop was second on our list of 6 stores we visited and we returned at the end of the day to buy a bike. They have the friendliest, most knowledgeable staff of the six stores we visited. They attended to our inquiries with sincere interest and warmth. They were extremely helpful and I will continue to take my bicycle business to this family-owned shop. Five stars!
