Today is the 2nd time that I was able to visit the shop. The customer service was amazing! I didn’t get the name of the employee but she helped me choose some plants, she told me how to care for them and showed me how they’d look in different pots. My new plants look great in my home and I’m very excited to go back and purchase more.

I went and was expecting to see new and beautiful succulents. I saw neglected plants with nothing that was not obtaining in better condition from my box store. Wasted 20 mile trip.

Stopped in here while we were waiting for our pizza next door and just snooped around. It was a neat little place with plants everywhere. There was a soap refill station, which is very neat! There was also a compost bin, which was cool.

Great oasis in the heart of downtown Raleigh. They have a good selection of succulents and other houseplants. If you buy a plant and a pot, they will put the plant for you for free!

Quaint little plant store amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Raleigh. It was a nice shop with a wide variety of plants, however we noticed a lot of the little succulents were dying or had fallen through some of the slot holes which was kind of sad for the plants :( otherwise a great little place!

Not only do they have a beautiful assortment of plants, but the linen fragrances are fantastic! Highly recommend!

An amazing place to go for the plant lover! This is one of the cutest little shops in downtown Raleigh, and I definitely recommend you check it out if youre in town (or even if you live here). Also, it is very aesthetic and you could get some cute pictures.

I ordered some plants for home delivery and they look great! The website has a ton of helpful information about each plant (and it has a section where you can browse all pet-friendly plants, which made it easy to choose).

After going to one of the events being hosted downtown yesterday we happen to walk passed the store and was immediately intrigued. My mother, my young niece and I decided to go inside. As we walked in we hear a lot of laughter and chatter from the cashier and people in before us. We were expecting the same energy, but unfortunately that was not the case. We were not greeted by the cashier, nor did she ask if we needed any help. She stayed in her phone the whole time. My mother bought something, I refused not to. The Asian girl at the register barely said anything to my mother when she ringed her up. I was extremely disappointed. When I got home I researched the company and found out that it was a black owned business which causes me to be very surprised because of the treatment we received. I loved the store itself and everything it had to offer. Customer service not so good.

This is a very cool, quaint succulent shop in downtown Raleigh. The staff was very helpful and recommended an essential oil diffuser as a gift. I wish they had bonsai plants but they are a succulent shop so what did I expect. If you are looking for a simple gift for someone I highly recommend this shop.

This place is such a little gem. They have a great variety of very healthy plants as well as great plant accessories! Their succulent wall is adorable and everytime I visit I end up grabbing something (or adding it to my wish list).

This small shop leaves an impact. Its a colorful and creative experience. The jar creation is fun and offers a lot of different items to use. There are succulent plants in all forms from dry plants to even ones inside tiny corks attached to a magnet. A fun date night or group (friends or work) outing. All that plus friendly, helpful service means well be back for sure.

The concept here is great, and the staff member who helped me today was incredibly sweet. There is a selection of plant-related merchandise (cross stitch kits, pins, etc) that was very fun to browse through, and the terrarium bar was a lot of fun. My only complaint was the condition of the small succulents- most of them werent in their best condition today, many were stretching to find the sun and some were missing leaves and looked over/under watered. They had a nice general selection of plants, although I had hoped to find some that were a little different. I will definitely be giving this little shop another chance, and I look forward to the visit.

I love coming here. I always feel confident that I can ask a question to the staff and they will have a knowledgeable answer. They are friendly and quick to help and the atmosphere of the store always makes me feel better when I’m having a tough day. In addition to the variety of plants and succulents, they also have other local and handmade items that are great for gifts or treating yourself.

I didnt know anything about plants except how to kill them. The staff at Zen was very helpful. Adela asked me questions and guided me to the low maintenance plant that fit me best - the money tree. Ive decided to call him Cuba Gooding Jr. She potted him and provided handwritten care instructions. I have a feeling Cuba will live a long life :)

Excellent customer service and variety of health plants and planters to chose from. Customer rep was great at helping my friend become confident that she could overcome her blackthumb.

Cute little shop, black owned business

I stopped by The Zen Succulent (Raleigh location) today to ask a question about a cactus plant I have. Id moved it from a very sunny location in my home to a less sunny spot, to accommodate my XMAS tree, and I wanted to make sure it would be alright. Laura was working, greeted me warmly, took the time to fully educate me that: 1. My plant is not a cactus, but is a Euphorbia Trigona or African Milk Tree; 2. reassured me that it would be fine in indirect sunlight, but prefers the full sunlight exposure; and, 3. she informed me that it is dormant in winter, so reduce the amount of watering or else the roots will rot.All I can say is, THANK YOU!! Lauras knowledge and insight, coupled with her extremely pleasant conversation, has led me to this review, AND Ill be certain to tell my friends to shop at your store, as well. Always a beautiful shop to go into. Its a little oasis away, filled with plants and little things. The environment has a very laid back feel to it.

There just aren’t any words, I love this place! So many great options, the staff is knowledgeable - I can’t wait to go again and come home with some new plant babies.

Adorable shop for all witchy plant parents. Admittedly, I didnt find anything I wanted to buy particularly, but it was a joy to experience nonetheless.

I hate to say this since this business is someones livelihood, but I was really disappointed after visiting The Zen Succulent. We brought my dad since hes been into succulents for a few years now. You can get better succulents and air plants for better prices a few different places in Raleigh. The person working there just sat behind the counter on their cell phone and didnt greet or engage the handful of customers in the store.

Such a cool shop! Did a terrarium workshop there and it was very fun and the owner is very knowledgeable.
