Great place in historic building. Chocolate factory and coffee bar....great combination! You can do a self guided tour and learn about the chocolate making process. The smell of the chocolate is wonderful! They offer a free chocolate tasting of 10 of their chocolates made on sight....from darkest to lightest, where each chocolate is from, chocolate percentage and tasting notes. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! The whole experience was fun and very interesting.
Fantastic chocolate. I tend to gravitate towards their 75% SOs and all four are unique, flavorful, and very tasty. I often have a bar or two at home - I enjoy their chocolate that much! I definitely think the pricing is on the high side, but I dont have a lot of specialty chocolate data points. Very helpful staff; they rotate the charity you can donate to at the register every month (employees get to choose the charity). Overall, great shop and I will continue being a repeat customer.
Creamy delicious chocolates.A wonderful, magical chocolate shop that makes delicious chocolates that will make you happy with every bite.I ordered a 4 pack of bonbons and two chocolate bars and every bite was heaven. Absolutely wonderful. If you want some delicious handcrafted chocolates, this is the place for you!
Omg how can you resist? Real cacao chocolate made in Raleigh. Had fun checking out the factory, which is small, and sampling chocolates in which they are VERY generous. Had to buy a gift box which included some cacao bars, bon bons of my choice and hot cocoa. Everything is chocolate heaven including the best hot chocolate Ive ever tasted. Highly recommended with convenient pay parking lot near restaurants and coffee bar.
Small but fun! Located in a great area and you can get your parking validated when you purchase some chocolate. Wonderful short but fun self guided tour of the shop. Went on a Saturday and sadly chocolate was not in production.
I had the best latte there I have ever had. The young gentleman was very knowledgeable about his beans and target points to achieve the best flavor. We went there for the chocolate which was exceptional but my favorite beans are coffee. 5 stars all the way on both product and service.
Loved the knowledgeable staff (shout out to Matthew!), the ability to tour the facility, and the option to sample the chocolate. Pricey, but quality!
Their ice cream was really great, not expensive and good topping choices. The chocolates were very expensive and small, but the habanero peach chocolate was stand out. The regular chocolate bars are all dark cocoa, and $9/bar, so pricey but if you like the richer chocolate, they have some really cool flavors. The coffee shop inside was pretty good, the frozen hot chocolate was a nice treat if you’re not wanting an ice cream cone.
No actual tour or actual museum. Just a few viewing areas (3)and if you dont get there when theyre making the chocolate, theres nothing to see. It smells nice tho and the ice cream reminded me of Golden Corral ice cream but a bit more flavorful. A bit pricey though for the quality. Wouldnt return again
Visited for a Friday afternoon soft serve treat. Nice to know that there is a great place to get some ice cream and house made chocolate in downtown Raleigh. Looking forward to going back to sample some of the chocolates on our next visit. We had not been here before but went as part of #datenightrtp. Well definitely be back.
So sad the candy part was closed! Like um it is Monday! Not Sunday! But the coffee place in here was soooooooo good! Smelled great!
Their hot chocolate has milk in it - thats not how it should be. Hot chocolate should just be, well, hot chocolate. But I gave it a shot anyways. The chocolate itself is clearly good quality - and yes there is no fluff beyond milk. But it was still too thin - way too much milk. There is so much potential here - just give the real chocolate!! I would be more than happy to pay $5 for a genuine hot chocolate than the current $3 for a milky one.On the bright side - this is one of the few enlightened businesses in the US which includes the tax in the menu price. Kudos.
Unique and quaint. Ice cream was a little high in price but expected. Would have liked the experience more if the factory tour was going on that day. Great place in a good part of town.
Love their soft serve ice cream! Also, the coffee shop inside there is very nice as well.
Literally all I know about chocolate is that in order for dark chocolate to be beneficial to ones health, it should be 85% cacao or more. Beyond that, I am by no means a chocolate expert, so when I tell you that everything I ate here was incredible, take it with a grain of salt. My husband and I ordered 5 chocolates to split between the two of us, some of an earl gray variety, another was a honey caramel that seemed to be in abundance for some reason, some were a blood orange chocolate. We split them on the outdoor patio and ate them under the sun, all too quickly.I am here to tell you. Order the honey caramel. Good lord, do it, no need to thank me later. We found the staff to be very friendly and professional, and the vibe of the place was open, very classy, and punctuated with notes of rich chocolate and tangy cocoa solids wafting throughout the air. There is no chocolate waterfall, sadly, but I wont hold that against them.
Such a cute place! You can see behind the scenes where everything gets done and try some free samples too! Would recommend their hot chocolate! Omg! I had it with oat milk... YESS!
Place was smaller than what I expected! Good place to have some soft serve ice cream and chocolate.
Best iced mocha latte ever! Greatly enjoyed every part of the factory and coffee shop! What a blessing to eat freshly made chocolate with some of my best friends!
Come in for the smells alone! This place is amazing! The chocolate is delicious and the staff cares genuinely about their products and the customer. Each variety of chocolate was explained in detail and we were allowed to sample a small piece. Ended up getting the three most popular bars to give as Christmas presents and some bon bons to enjoy on the spot. Everything was freshly and lovingly made and fantastic! Highly recommend!
Ive been here several times because not only do they have a fabulous selection of fresh chocolate products, but because they offer a fun and educational take on the art of making chocolate. In addition, they have ample indoor and outdoor seating. You wont find many places like this in the world, let alone this town so dont miss Videri.
BEWARE: COULD BE HABIT FORMINGHad dinner across the street and decided against dessert and instead came her for after-dinner-deliciousness. Smart choice on our part, I must say. Exquisite chocolates. I had a morsel with edible blue mineral dust that was a-maz-ing. Super nice staff and clean and welcoming storefront.
Phenomenal! The ice cream and coffee was spectacular. Service and company beyond lovely. I love how they choose a different charity to support monthly. Will be coming back again soon!
Went here for ice cream, this place is amazing. The service was good, the milkshake was amazing and its a nut free facility which was music to my sons ears.
I absolutely love this store, this is my local Factory for chocolate and the only I go to in Princeton. They are always clean, they make great food, everything is always fresh. I only have one complaint and is why I only gave 3 stars.... Roberta.. if she is working I dread going in there. She has ALWAYS been extremely rude to myself and my fiancé, even when we are overly polite saying yes mam and no mam. She roll her eyes at us, talks extremely rude to us both, and while yes I understand the carding policy from working at factories I do not however understand the way she does it, first of all I’ve watched her pick and choose people she wants to card including people who look younger than us, then she asks us our birthday and we tell her and she rudely says “WELL CAN I SEE IT!” And then we hand it to her and she has to take it and walk all the way over to the cigarettes while holding it and then finally scans the darn thing and slams it back on the counter at us. It becomes very frustrating to hold my tongue at the amount of rudeness. Like I said I have no issues presenting my ID it’s just her entire attitude about it! Other than that I love the store.
The mocha fudge shake might change your life. Super friendly, helpful staff.
Some delicious chocolate! Youre able to do a short self guided tour of the chocolate making process.
Great self tour. Sweet chocolate. Super nice staff
Absolutely love shopping with Videri! All of their products are a winner but I particularly like the fondue kits and ice cream! 10/10 recommend
Not impressed. Ice cream was tasteless. I expected sweet tasting chocolate ice cream but it tasted freezer burnt. Also, wearing a mask, outside while standing over 6 feet away to order? Cmon. Felt like I was screaming my order to the girl sitting behind the window. I understand social distancing and making people feel safe, but that seems extreme to me. Shocked I wasnt asked for proof of vaccine to order...
Great coffee bar, quirky location, interesting layout that allows you to see the whole production area.Chocolates were beautiful, with interesting, modern flavor options such as Strawberry Peppercorn and Lavender Caramel. My party and I sampled quite a few different flavors and while the flavors were well made, no one in my party really cared for any of them.Theyre going for something niche and boutique, so dont expect comforting, familiar chocolates.
Disappointed in the fact this place is so small and there isnt anything to tour especially if theyre not making any chocolate....
Awesome plave to visit with great chocolate options.
Great swirl ice cream with toppings. Great dark chocolate.
This is an awesome place. My friend cant eat chocolate from the grocery store because she is highly alergic to nuts so this is the only place she can get choclate. NUT FREE atmosphere. They have several flavors. Love the dark chocolate. I had a bon bon it was in a royal blue wrapper AMAZING..
Nice and helpful employees and quality products.
We ended up here accidentally. Headed to boxcar, but they were a maximum capacity, so we ventured across the street. Upon walking in, we were greeted and invited on a self tour of the factory. Open to viewing is everything from the beans to the final product with detailed information on how each step is done in the chocolate making process. After the tour, we were invited to try samples of nibs, different chocolates and amazing inventions. This place is organic, mostly gluten and dairy free options and completely nut free. So imagine eating a chocolate that takes exactly like a snickers without any nuts. Amazing!! They roast the nibs/ hulls in a way that makes them fruity or nutty but IT IS ALL JUST CHOCOLATE! We also sat in their espresso/ chocolate bar where you can get sipping chocolate- melted dark chocolate for drinking or traditional hot chocolate . I got a mocha- melted dark chocolate and espresso. Divine and wonderful experience! This is a hidden gem!!!
Amazing atmosphere inside, and easy parking options!
Stopped by Videri for some chocolate stocking stuffers for the kiddos and was reminded why I love local businesses all over again! I had some questions about the processing of the chocolate and Sam came out to meet me and we had a lovely conversation. He was knowledgeable about the subject I was asking about and is getting me additional resources to answer my questions. Friendly staff, big hearts, and eco conscious mission.
Beautiful little space with a cute Instagram wall that you could do. Extremely helpful and very polite customer service!
It’s so disappointing when businesses don’t keep their hours updated. This place closes at 6 pm, not 9 pm.
I am a regular customer I purchase for fun and for friends and coworkers
Do you enjoy bean-to-bar dark chocolate? What about soft-serve ice cream and a to-go window? How about some locally roasted coffee? Lemme tell you. Videri has it all, yall. Grab some truffles even or their hot chocolate mix! Im serious you cant really go wrong here.Dont like chocolate? I mean thats fine, I guess.
There was nothing happening....🤷🏽♀️ Very disappointed.
Videri makes amazing chocolates, and now they are doing soft serve ice cream with the best toppings. Theres a walk up window, well marked spacing and plenty of room, friendly staff and good ice cream. We had a fun evening.
Outstanding chocolate! For true chocolate lovers, enjoy dark chocolates that are perfectly balanced between bitter and sweet while enjoying the silkiest smooth chocolate feel in your mouth. Dont forget the coffee next door - just as stellar!
Yummy! Love this IceCream Stop on our DateNight!
Great chocolate and I love that you can order their items online, too
Pricy! Quality! Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff :0)
Beautiful space, delicious hot chocolate and a very welcoming atmosphere. Its more on the expensive side, but worth it!
This place was awesome. Very warm feeling place. Took the tour they give for free and got to sample the chocolate that we say how they make. The staff was very knowledgable about their products. Staff was eager to help and just to make your experience a memorable one. Highly recommend taking your special someone to this romantic little chocolate factory to get some Brownie Points.
Not that many chocolates. Do not have high expectation.
Delicious chocolate bars and now they have soft-serve ice cream! Get the affogato for an extra special treat - sooo good!
This little place has to be the Hidden Gem in their neighborhood. The chocolate was out of this world. All that and the Fantastic cup of coffee you can get to go with it, cant adequately be described. And on top of that you get to take a little tour of the Chocolate Factory! Thank you so much to the employees for making our visit fun and informative.
Excellent customer serviceI! I recently ordered some items. They were packaged nicely but the hot chocolate mix was damaged in the mail and messed up a chocolate bar. I called the store and the girl I spoke to was super nice and helpful. She immediately mailed me replacements which arrived undamaged. Again, excellent customer service!
My first visit with my granddaughter. Little expensive for me but my granddaughter enjoyed her box of chocolates. Hope one day we can get a tour.
This place a great! It is located conveniently and has its own parking. It is in a pretty trendy area, so crowds occur which is good for socializing. But the best part is what is happening inside! OMG YUM. Let me say again OMG YUM!! I love chocolate, especially dark. I also love Coffee, also dark. This place does both VERY WELL! It’s fun for the kids too, as they have an open facility, so you can watch the operation in action. I recommend a macchiato and some bon bons.
Exquisite chocolate stop in downtown Raleigh. Free samples. Engaging chocolate factory self-tour that could take you anywhere from five to fifteen minutes. Now that they have partnered with Black & White Coffee Roasters, we visit much more frequently to imbibe the magical coffee + chocolate combinations.Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to entertain visiting guests or work remotely.
Fantastic chocolates and I’m so glad they are taking precautions and doing what they can to reduce overwhelming hospitals with Covid patients.
I love Videri chocolate factory! The chocolate is excellent and I love that the entire place is nut free! They have a courtyard that is great during nice weather, and I love grabbing a tea or hot chocolate here with my friends. I especially love the cocoa tea! It is comforting and chocolaty without all the milk and sugar. The frozen hot chocolate is great too for a more indulgent summer day!
