They have a decent selection of undies, lingerie and toys. I feel like the name of the store is a little misleading, they only had one rack of vinyl/leather apparel for men, (I didnt look through the womens stuff). Was there more store that I missed?

Was on a Holiday in Portland… Stopped into Spartacus to ask for directions and look around… The associate Quinn was very helpful and assisted my hUsband and I to pick out a lubricant… He also directed us to the restaurant we were looking for. We would come back any day.

Got there at 7:55, supposed to close at 8. Employee gave me death stare and wouldnt let me in. Good job, Im sure the store owner appreciates you losing him/her a few hundred bucks. I would have been out by 8. Knew exactly what I wanted.

Uncomfortable experience with male employeeI was in recently and had a very confusing and unpleasant experience. Ive been into Spartacus a few times in the last couple months and am generally happy to pop in, they always have what I need, and most of the staff is helpful and friendly. However, this time I was helped by a man who I had not seen working there before. Prior to me checking out I saw him make physical contact with another woman to help her see if something would fit, which seemed very unprofessional and unsafe, considering the current pandemic especially. He smelled very strongly of cat urine and asked me a couple personal questions about being atransgender man, and when I tries to explain that I am not, he told me very personal details about a co-worker who was having a sex-change operation. I debated whether this review was appropriate to post, and tried to call the store after I left, but the same employee answered the phone and I didnt feel comfortable asking for the manager. I dont have an issue with transgender but this felt too intense for me. I want to go back when one of the other nicer employees is there but I do not want to have another interaction like that.

Nice selection of lingerie with seriously everything from club wear to cozy.

Showed up last sat. and nobody was at the front. There was a dog sat alone by the checkout and it was whining and i had to wait over 5 min for a employee to show up and he smelled so bad I could not focus on what he was saying even with a mask on and social distanced. I ended up leaving didnt even look around the store. would not come here again.

Love this shop. However the girl who assisted me the other day was quite rude. Didn’t like her bland personality. Ill pop by when shes not there next time. xx

Absolutely amazing shop!This was my first trip into Spartacus and I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only were they the only shop in Portland to even carry Latex but Sara(h?) was a joy to work with! She is incredibly knowledgeable about every product I had questions on, was patient with me as I was in and out of the dressing room trying to piece together an outfit and was just a ton of fun to shop with! Boss, throw Sara(h?) some Kudos, she totally deserves it!Ill be back soon! xx

Lance was amazing answering my questions and helping me find what I wanted. He was incredibly helpful and very informative in regards to the various products that could fit needs. I would highly recommend Spartacus as a store and Lance as a highly knowledgeable person who knows the products of the store!

Dont be afraid to ask questions, they have heard it all and have all the right information to help you on your way. Love this place.

I am a marine vet first off and I have been broke and homeless but the way I was treated was wrong. I went here for a quick stop, which i got there at 9:50 and they were supposed to open at 10:00. The assistant was there but couldnt open up and I found out the lead was late. They didnt open til 10:15. I got in bought my quick item and then went to leave. Stopped and ask if I can get a future discount on another purchase in the future cause its in walking distance and I come semi often. She refuse had no care about the wait and as I left laughed that I thought I deserved something for the poor service and attitude. Am I wrong?

Who doesnt love sex? A huge online dating site recently ranked Portland as a very sex-positive town, possibly Spartacus helped that happen. The retail store is a smallish, locally-owned sex shop with a front room filled with clothes both lace and latex, some jewelry, lotions, and gag stuff, etc...and a back room filled with sex toys and a small porn section. Selection is not superstore broad, and pricing is not warehouse cheap, (though ask the staff about specials, they usually do something every month and at times can make purchases downright inexpensive for some items). The thing is, the clothes, lube, and toys arent what makes Spartacus. Their claim to fame is leather. They make their own bondage gear, and equipment, have done so for years, and it is made locally, sold globally, and generally of very good workmanship. If you have the, ahem, cojones, to ask about a piece of equipment youre not familiar with, staff will take the time to explain it to you. Always a fun place to test the prudishness of a new paramour. Parking is on street and as they are close to Powells Books, hard to come by.

Huge, lots of toy selection. Clothing selection seems big, but once you narrow it down to a certain size and style you realize theres really not much there... I guess they have a little of everything. Helpful staff.

Purchased a magic want attachment and used it once. It stayed on the magic want in a my toy box for about a week. When I pulled it out to use it I realized the whole back had split. The store wouldnt give me a refund or store credit. They said I can make another purchase at 30-40 percent off. What if the next toy breaks? No thanks. Id rather shop from a company with high quality products and who stands behind them.

This locally owned location is a great sex positive store. Basics like condoms are crazy expensive and are better bought online, but when you need some strange in a pinch Spartacus can deliver

Also they have a sign on their window saying they are accepting of all races, religions, sexual orientations etc yet the entire staff still misgendered me and made the 15 minutes i was in the store super uncomfortable. They also make you pay for a wig cap and fantasy gives them out for free if you are trying on wigs. Not going back again. Hey spartacus staff! non binary people exist, gendering people based on their appearance is gross and non-inclusive. Try harder.
