Great mix of new titles and indies! Doug knows his stuff and is always happy to help find what you need.The place is too small to warehouse tons of back issues, but it is a go-to if you’re looking for something new. Pre-covid, the Cave hosted children’s art programs and community events. I expect those to return soon.Hours sometimes fluctuate. Get on the mailing list to stay informed.

Not my usual neck of the woods but worth the drive to chat with Doug while my kids made their selections. A friendly shop with room to move around and lots of variety. I might possibly have gone home with a few items myself.

Comic Cave is my favorite comic book store that Ive ever gone to. This isnt a slight on the other shops, but rather a huge compliment to the owner, Doug. While the shop is small in size, its huge in customer service and a personal touch that seems to be lost in most contemporary stores. Not only is Doug friendly and knowledgeable, but after only a couple of visits to the store, he started to understand my tastes and interests. He has a knack for figuring out comics that I might be interested in, goes out of his way to help me get the issues or trades that Im looking for, and will even steer me away from a comic if he doesnt think Ill like it. The honesty and kindness I get from Doug is why I would highly recommend Comic Cave to anyone and everyone.

Kentons Comic cave really hit the spot! I was driving through my old neighborhood and saw a sandwich board that said COMICS. Well I had to check this out! Great lil hole in tha wall shop. Doug was very helpful and I left with a humble bundle of odd back issues I needed for an off the wall collection Im working on. Will be back!

Went here for the first time last Friday.. They had exactly what I was looking for, and I considered it a long shot. Cant wait to see what I stumble upon next time.

Great little comic shop in the heart of downtown St. Johns. An excellent selection of current single issues as well as a cool loft area with a manageable selection of back issues-- many of which were real gems and substantial runs.The proprietor was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Portland has a lot of great comic shops, and Comic Cave is no exception. Pay them a visit!

One mans passion project is offering St. Johns a cozy comic book store the that the historic downtown did not know it was missing.Excellent selection of titles. Above average selection of Dark Horse titles. Some MTG packs and novelties.

Small shop but a great selection. Doug is always friendly and is willing to help you get what you need, even if its not in stock. He offers 10% off subscription boxes which is a great deal if you cant always make it to the store in release day.
