Bagel.Basic breakfasts. Bagel or toast mostly.Delicious but small dishes. Inside a bit crowded (covid). There is little space on the sidewalk as well.High pen price.

$7 for a microwaved burrito. People were nice. Coffee was fine. But I can never forgive them for highway robbery of my $7

Their breakfast burrito is so good, warm and delicious, just perfect after a trail run in Forest Park, which is only a few blocks away. I also had a Turkey sandwich and definitely got full and satisfied. No dining in at the moment but there are three tables outside on the sidewalk.

Great place to stop for a warm beverage, sandwich, pastry or bowl of soup after hitting the trails. Good vegetarian soup, nice large bowl with some toast. Nice atmosphere, and no judgement for coming in dirty after a nice time in the muddy trails of forest park!

Im from out of town and happened to stop at The Clearing Cafe after visiting the local Bike shop Fat Tire Farm I enjoyed a Matcha and a delicious breakfast burrito and sat outside enjoying the fall colors. Its a small establishment but parking was adequate and its located in a nice neighborhood. I would recommend if your in the neighborhood....

This is my favorite cafe in all of Portland. Everything I have tried there is absolutely delicious. The chai is nice and spicy, and they will add extra cardamon to it if you ask, the chimpanzee smoothie is to die for, the breakfast burrito is excellent, and their homemade granola with plain yogurt is excellent too. Thats all Ive tried so far. I hope they open up other locations throughout Portland !

This is the place to go for incredible food. Really good coffee and the service is wonderful. I’ve gone here with friends and try to bring any out-of-town friends to this café. It’s in a quiet part of the neighborhood and it’s fun to walk around and look at the homes nearby. Seating is comfortable. And clean bathrooms., What else can you ask for.

Stopped in briefly but didnt stay. From online pictures it seemed to be a place to be a place to have a breakfast or brunch meal, but upon arrival could not see any food menus or anyone eating more than a pastry or drinking coffee. There was also very limited seating that seemed to be filled up, which is not a problem, a good sign for their quality of coffee.Just as a note to the owners/managers, if you do serve food having a menu posted or visible somewhere would be great as an indicator, otherwise some editing of the description or images associated on Google would be necessary.

Never thought I would find a coffee shop where the price for a cup of coffee was more expensive than Starbucks ($2.50 as compared to $1.85). The flavor of the coffee is good.Update: My personal 11 oz coffee cup now costs $3.00 to fill up. Apparently they would rather me use one of their throw away cups. I didnt realize the landfill was low on paper cups made out of fortified paper...non-recyclable.Lose a Star

Went here the other day because I was in the neighborhood with some down time. Giving 3 stars because the baristas working should work on their customer service skills. When I walked in I was not greeted with any hellos or how are you, I stood at the counter and the people behind the counter seemed awkward and uncomfortable, did not make me feel welcome. I was a barista for 3 years and know you should greet each customer. The coffee was okay, I love that they have hemp milk here.

Great cafe, frequented by runners and cyclists on the weekend mornings. There isnt a better place to go after a run in Forest Park near this entrance. The cafe has hearty food and delicious coffee.

I spend every Saturday morning here and I see the same people every week coming into the shop. The staff know their customers by name and unless they are slammed, you can always count on being greeted with a smile! I love the rice and beans bowl. The soups are always amazing! Kelley makes the most tender and flaky scones that are super hard to resist. Oh yeah, the breakfast burrito might contain crack because I am addicted to them. I live in NE and there are so many places I could go for coffee and treats, but I still find my way here instead.

Small cafe staffed by professionals. They have odd taste in art. For instance once there was an installation of photos of dental implants or something. They bake most of their own pastries and all the food and drink is excellent.

Ive been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood almost 4 years ago, but it has seriously gone downhill. I love their simple breakfast burrito but today they served it to me like this with no explanation (I cut the good part off) I asked them what happened to it and they said it got stuck. Um, take a cue from taco bell and at least put another tortilla on it. They didnt offer me another one or to fix it...unacceptable.

Get your coffee to go. The coffee is amazing, but the place itself is nothing special. The reviews of this place made me come here while in town and while i was extremely happy with my breve latte, the shop is crowded and small, with little to make it stand out. After the hype I was a little disappointed in that regard.

After changing owners in Feb 2018, the cafe has gone sadly downhill. While the general vibe is the same, the new owners switched to bad coffee (del arte- same burnt junk as at the Dragonfly down the street), lost most of the employees who made the place fun, and the pastry quality went from amazing to ho-hum). Hopefully theyll come round to serving proper coffee, otherwise there will be little reason to continue visiting.
