I am vegan and so I LOVE Nossa Familia Coffee for their incredible vegan coffee beverages! And their Vegan Salted Caramel Latte is like a trip to the Oregon Coast! I feel like I can practically experience the ocean waves rolling up onto the endless stretches of sun-drenched beaches...like I am there enjoying the wonderful sights, sounds and flavors of a day at the coast!

Great coffee spot (take out only). I’ve had a Cortadito, Matcha Latte tea and Mocha Fogo on different occasions and all were excellent. Great service and the price is right. I also had their pao de queijo (cheese) 🧀 waffle 🧇 and it was rich and delicious.

I have to say Nossa is probably one of my favorite roasters in Portland. They seem to really know all about coffee. Another thing that I really appreciate is that their coffee prices are very reasonable and are slightly below average but the taste is well above average.I got a spiced Mexican Mocha with Chile powder. It was amazing! The staff was very friendly and they seemed like they wanted to connect with there customers. I also appreciate this. This particular location is not suited to work on a laptop and work. It is more of a location to get a coffee and either drink it outside or on their small bar. I would assume that this would be an amazing cafe to visit in the summer months.

Having lived in the area for a few years, this is by far my favorite coffee spot. Basic lattes are excellent, as are all of the specialty and seasonal drinks. Their Chai is flavorful and spicy with balanced sweetness, not mellow and cloying like most alternatives. Matthew, the barista whos usually working when I stop by, consistently produces the best microfoam in town. He deserves a raise.

Living and working in the pearl comes with a unique set of issues, finding a good coffee shop however, is not one of them.Nossa Familia is an established Portland brand that makes great coffee, is down to earth, and promotes responsible farming practices. This little shop in the pearl reflects that pretty well. The staff is always humble and helpful, the little patio is great for a sunny afternoon, and again the coffee is delicious.Wouldn’t go out of my way for a visit, but is my preferred choice when in the area.

This was such a great little pick me upper! I’m not a huge coffee drinker but wanted a mocha with just a touch of espresso. As per usual, I asked a ton of questions - not to be difficult but because I’m just so darn indecisive! The barista didn’t mind at all. He was super friendly and chill and I got exactly what I wanted. A light mocha with light whip and a well-balanced ham and gruyere croissant! Perfect way to start the week!

Really well designed place with cool, extra casual atmosphere. Observe Hipsters in their natural habitat while enjoying your espresso with acqua frizzante, served just like in Milano!Coffee is on the sour side, so opt for a darker roast if youre not into that recent trend. Theres a second floor where one can sit to enjoy ones beverage uninterrupted by the transients, ubiquitous in this area. Altogether an enjoyable little coffee shop but we liked Umbria (a few blocks to the west) more.

I hate coffee. Blasphemous, right? It makes me jittery and anxious. Therefore, I get my caffeine fix from matcha lattes. Ive sadly had to resort to Starbucks most of the time solely for convenience. Fortunately, I found Nossa Familia during a Google search of matcha near me one day at work, and I can guarantee you this place is no Starbucks, in the best way possible. The matcha latte tastes authentic and creamy. They dont sweeten it, so I like to get mine with honey. However, the real star of the show are their cheese waffles, an interesting take on the traditional Pão de Queijo, a chewy cheesy bread from Brazil. Every bite is filled with savory cheese, and while it can be a bit overwhelming at times, its absolutely delicious and worth it.Ive heard that the place is cute inside, but I havent been able to see it fully since Ive only discovered this place after the pandemic. I can attest to the service being good and the workers being nice. The orders can get a bit slow depending on how many people are in front of you or what you order (youll probably have to wait a bit for the waffles), but not ridiculously so and definitely worth the quality food and drinks.

New location is nice and bright, although somehow even smaller than the last one. Still amazing coffee though and friendly service. Chocolate whipped cream for the mocha is to die for. They make an eggnog latte in December with real eggnog and a pumpkin latte in the fall with real pureed pumpkin. It’s a great local find!

Unique, to-go style espresso bar with lofty ceilings and lots of beautiful plants! The owner grew up on coffee farms in Brazil and you can tell that the coffee connection runs deep here. Really delicious coffee drinks, and the baristas are so kind. Definitely try the special “mocha fogo” which is a spicy mocha, topped with their special chocolate espresso whipped cream, you won’t be disappointed. They use a local artisan chocolate which I love!

I think this is the best coffee roaster in Portland. Even if I didn’t live here, I’d order their beans online.Lucky for me, I love mere blocks from their Pearl location.Even though they moved the physical roasting operation out of the Pearl, we got a bigger cafe in the deal. While they don’t have much seating - but they doubled their seating over the old location, and the outside seating is endless with their shared patio. But if you don’t go for the awesome coffee, go for the people. The Pearl team is just do genuinely nice and caring. Their enthusiasm over the drink they make for me makes me enjoy it even more. And they are knowledgeable! Ask ‘em about how a bean will taste or whether you’re doing something right at home and you’ll get excellent guidance!

Don’t go for the iced! After enjoying a lot of great ice coffee in Portland, I was hugely disappointed in Nossa’s iced coffee. It’s hot coffee that they make cold, so it tastes sharp and acidic.Their good reviews make me assume that the other stuff they serve is probably great, but the only thing I can attest to is that iced coffee is not included in that. I threw it away after a few sips.

Non acidic coffee? In Portland? I am very impressed. I picked up one their Italian roasts (they call it Italian but Id call it a Vienna) and its one of the first coffees where Ive been able to pick up all the flavors in the profile they put on the package, and more. It says chocolate tobacco and almonds but I am definitely picking up some dark cherry and soil-y notes plus others I cant put my finger on yet.Great beans.

Except that time I got an almond milk vanilla latte, which SOUNDED good, but just tasted weird. Cool space, but cramped. Bastia was friendly, but the coffee had twice as much water as it should’ve because the barista didn’t listen to what I ordered. 8oz double americano, got a 16oz double americano. Nordic cuisine is not something I have regularly...or at all. So when my friend suggested it I said yes because I doubt Id ever choose this for myself.Anyhow, my friend ordered their popular FÖRLORADE ÄGG or Lost Eggs. Its a rich dish with two eggs medium poached in cream on a bed of sliced ham and spinach, all baked under a parmesan-panko crust. I decided on their LEFSE, which is a Norwegian potato crêpe. The daily preparation is listed on their specials board. On this particular day it included crispy bacon, gouda, havarti, pickled cabbage and arugula pesto with two soft baked eggs. Im not a huge fan of creamy dishes so I easily liked my choice more.We also split an order of RAGGMUNK, which is a Swedish potato pancake or their version of a hash brown, and of course we had to have some AEBLESKIVERS, which are Danish pancakes shaped like golf balls. You can get a small (4 pieces) or full (6 pieces) order and its served with house-made lemon curd and lingonberry jam. So good!I have no comparison for this food but we definitely enjoyed our breakfast!

Initially, the draw to Nosa was that my brother worked there and it was a cheap way to explore every coffee/drink so that I would know how and what to order no matter where I was in Portland. What I didnt realize was I cant order my favorite drink, Dirty Chai with Oat Milk anywhere else and expect at a minimum; for them to have oat milk, in full; for their ingredients/recipe/artistry to come close or sometimes even be ingestable, comparably. Unlike draft beers where knowing what you like might help you from one bar to the next, only Nosa will ever taste as good as Nosa.Forewarning: If you can not handle experiencing the best in coffee standards or always craving Nosas coffee over coffee in general, be advised to not take a single sip🙌☕
