Such a great neighborhood spot! Since COVID, they have totally built out their side patio into a little oasis where you can post up and enjoy the day.The coffee is amazing. They have light, medium and dark options for their espresso, which I really appreciate. The pastries we got were served warm, which is a clear indicator of how much they care about their food. We also got the bagel special, which was perfectly assembled and served. Great experience that makes me want to come out here more often!

Coffee is good. People at window are patient, knowledgeable and personable. The biscuits....Holy hell....so good. Perfect comfort food. Light, flavorful and definitely a new pandemic addiction. The walk up window is a great distancing option and the patio is still available to chill. Very clean, organized and you can buy ground organic coffee. Highly recommend!!!

The quiche and Coffee cake are amazing. All the food is good, but I really liked the quiche, coffee cake, and bacon cheddar scones. Fresh, warm, and they use fantastic ingredients. They are open as a walk up window right now. Now, the coffee. It smells so very good. It tastes as good as it smells. Am I going back? Heck yeah!

It was a busy time to visit, but its tough when it takes 20 minutes to get three coffee beverages, one of them just drip. Somehow is was over $17 for two specialty lattes and a 12oz drip? Sage latte was too sweet and not as herbaceous as wed hoped. We might give it another try, but not if were in a hurry.

Barista wasn’t that friendly and I accidentally gave her the wrong debit card to run through and instead of saying it was declined, she said “declined for insufficient funds.” Out loud. I was embarrassed . $4 for a cup of tea and someone makes me feel bad? Yeah no. This place isn’t as great as it seems. Love bison but there are better shops out there.

Great coffee, it just took me 30 minutes to get it. There were 4 groups in front of me, maybe 9-10 people in total. It took them 30 minutes from the time I arrived to get one latte. Too much good coffee in Portland to wait that long!

Just stopped by for the first time and I have found my new go to spot for biscuits and coffee. I got the green chili pepper Jack biscuit, Maple Bacon Ricotta Cake and the Mexi Mocha. All were so delicious, the cake and biscuit were so big I could barely finish them but they were too good not to! They also make a true Mexi Mocha with a ton of kick to it, such a good morning pick me up. The service was great, they helped me pick out what type of Ricotta cake to get and what roast for my coffee, was super fast too even with a few people ahead of us. Will be back soon for sure❤️.

Delicious biscuits and coffee. I was impressed when I asked for an americano and was asked if I wanted light, medium or dark roast. They really cater to each person and make you feel cared for. Not in a gross capitalist way…more like seeing your Native cousin who happen to be a barista. They also support Native coffee roasters and Native artists (you can buy MMIWP stickers and other items to support the movement to end violence on Native people). I don’t live nearby but it’s the only coffeeshop in Portland I feel safe and seen. Tlazocamati relatives!

**2/17/19- updated - another customer picked up my mocha by mistake, blew on it and when the staff pointed out it wasn’t hers the employee expected that I would be ok drinking that same mocha. NO and then she was pt out that I had her make a new one. What was my fave coffeehouse went from 5 stars to 2. **Love it. A rich dark bean mocha, fresh sweet cream scone, unique theme and super friendly service make this place my new favorite coffee spot. I also had the raspberry muffin top, don’t judge me.

A beautiful spot with lovely tables and seating and a cute patio. This spot is Native owned and a treasure to visit. I mostly stick to Chai Teas and Lattes and order both with one of their several dairy free milk options. They have a small shelf with some local handmade products like soap and coffee beans and have a yummy pastry case. Small and cozy, this place is bright and airy enough to feel at ease with a party of 5-7 if you grab the outside patio spots or the bigger table inside. Oh and the drinks are always beautiful :)

I love this place so much. Amazing people work here. I came here to have a meeting and I made the mistake of grabbing the wrong coffee and didn’t realized it, the worker came up to me and told me that they made the mistake of making it wrong. Later on when the meeting was coming to the end and I realized that the other person wasn’t drinking the coffee that much and realized I was the person in the wrong. How amazing and humble for them to come up to me to offer to make a new one and didn’t blame me for grabbing the wrong coffee. I really appreciate people with kind hearts. Bison is a coffee shop in a place where it needs to be. Youll feel relieved that you found the place. Being a native owned store has a huge impact on the community, people are proud to support an indigenous store owner. The interior reflects this and is well decorated. However, the furniture is a awkward, and some spots in the cafe youll have trouble navigating without bumping into spots. The coffee is priced on the more expensive side, and some of the baristas feel like youre talking to a robot than a human.Limited selection and not much for poorer people to afford.

This quaint little eatery specializes in breakfast/bruch cuisine. The service is personal and the price is very reasonable.Space is limited. So its not a place to bring the whole family. But if youre looking for a casual morning meal with a friend or two, the Bison is ideal. Its only drawback for some may be the challenge of getting there. Theres only street parking, in an already crowded residential neighborhood.I think the Bisons lack of parking is offset by the fact that a Trimet bus stops right outside the front door.Bring a friend, your apetite and the makings of a good conversation. Youll soon find that ditching the car for brunch at the Bison will be the best part of your morning.
