Brian answered all of my questions and help me decide on a perfect wheel set upgrade for my bike.He shared a lot of his knowledge and reasoning and made me stoked and confident that this was a set up I’d love for a long time.I’m thankful I was able to work with someone local so skilled at their craft. Thanks again!!

Brian of Stoic Wheels is awesome. He was recommended by a friend and I’m glad I chose him to build my wheels. He built me a set that I’m extremely happy with. He was super patient with all my questions. He’s also a super chill person to talk to. Had a very pleasant experience buying custom wheels from him. 10/10 recommend him to build your wheels.

I went there to see if they had any wheels in 27.5 and 15/100 they didnt. But the owner was at home for his kids birthday. He answered the phone anyway . He informed me he wasnt at the shop but thought he had some 28hole rims in stock. He came in the next day, I stopped by and showed him my tacos wheel and he was able to build up a wheel. Using my old hubs and rotors in about 18hours. In a pinch while I was traveling from out of town. It was only 120 which was cheaper than a new wheel and ultimately an upgrade from what I had before.

I walked in for a popped tire and not only did that get fixed real quick, Brian also took the time to look at my bike when I asked if he thought it needed a tune up soon and replaced a part tht was badly beaten by its clumsy owner (me). I didnt even realize that the broken bit was why my bike chains always popped off ! A super fair price for all that patient and thorough work!! Hes not a native PDXer but but if you know the PDX church of elvis then youre accepted as one of us OGs in my book! Quadruple bonus points for any biz!Remember to refer a friend and to tip to help ensure Stoic survives and thrives!PS. Ive never met a Brian who wasnt an exceptional human.

Brian at Stoic is the best wheel builder in the entire state. He is also a remarkable all around mechanic and one of the nicest, most reasonable, most accommodating folks in the local bike community. Hes been working on my bikes for the last 3 years and I have nothing but glowing things to say about him. He always finds time to help people out, even if theyre perfect strangers, he never cuts corners, uses only the best parts & materials and always, always goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the work hes performed. This is as good as it gets folks. 🤘

Needed some emergency help with my chain while riding nearby and saw that Stoic was still open. Brian was kind enough to help me out and didn’t ask for anything in return. I will definitely make it up and be back for future repairs!

Brian builds amazing wheels and is a great guy! Never intimidating to talk to him about your needs, he walked me through my wheel build and made me the best pair of wheels I’ve ever owned. He stands behind his work too, which I love. He even gave me a pair of cone wrenches and taught me how to service my own hubs! I think I’ve found my wheel builder for life.

A lot of people here commenting on Brian’s wheel building expertise and absolutely- from giving me advice on my own wheel building projects, to straight up building wheels for me- Brian is truly an expert and a pro and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I would like to add that he has helped me source parts for my drivetrain upgrade, always made time for me to do the installs, and he even modified a Chris king headset to fit on my girlfriend’s 60’s folder bike. Anyway it’s not just wheels. He’s a total bike mechanic and I’m glad to have him in my life and call him a friend. Stop by the shop and he will take care of you, but wear your mask cos, you know, covid

Best wheelbuilder in town, hands down! Builds wheel right from the start that are built to last. I am still amazed my last wheel built by Brian hasn’t needed to be trued at all after over 700,000 vertical feet of heavy trail riding over +3,000 miles on just about every kind of terrain in past 1.5 years. Most of my wheels in past would of been long dead by then. Cheers, Brian P at Stoic Wheels!

Brian has built every wheelset I ride at this point, Im terrible with maintaining my wheel tensions on my own, and his builds stand up to that neglect and some very abusive riding.
