Settle in.This is gonna take a sec.My Ironman got a rear flat on the Springwater Path and I walked out at Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge Trailhead onto Milwaukee Av, Sellwood at nearly 5pm. I google-mapped for bike repair locations and Freewheel was only 6 blks away. I called, and the guy said come over, its a house with a garage, and I will get you rolling again in no time.It took a minute to find it in this peaceful residential setting, but this guy, the owner and certified bike mechanic, got busy and had me rolling again in 25 minutes.Eventhough it was the end of a hot day and he had clearly been closing up shop, he cheerfully and skillfully flipped that bike up on the stand and did his professional handiwork. In the process he cleaned the chain, the shifter, recentered the wheel, inserted a new tube. My Ironmans better than ever. And he wouldnt take more than $20!!! What a shop! What a guy! 5 stars plus.

Steve was amazing!I went in for a way-overdue tuneup, and he fixed it way quicker than I expected. He also explained how to use my bike properly (I am a total novice) so I have fewer issues going forward. Great value and friendly service.

What an upstanding guy Steve is! As a skateboarder I know nothing about my bike, besides how to fix a chain. He did not take adva of my lack of knowledge, instead he gave me a quote over the phone and didnt nickle and dime me even after he insisted he fixed other small things on my bike to make sure it ran more smooth. I 100% assumed it would be more than the quoted price. But it wasnt, not a penny more. Great service, great stories and just all around great experience. I will be back and will be recommending to everyone.

A very tricky and bitter old man to work with. Had him do a tune- up and the bike came back in worse condition than I gave it to him in. Then when I went to try and resolve the issue with Steve, he did not respond to my call/voice message despite me contacting him multiple times on a work-day. I say, okay well then I should go to an official shop and get my bike repaired there (the same repair that wasnt even necessary until Steve worked on the bike) and they confirmed and fixed the problem. Steve then finally gets back to me and I tell him that I did try to contact him, but he wasnt around to fix the issue so I went to a shop. He then yells at me about his warranty and my lack of patience ((a derailleur issue that made it impossible to ride the bike without fear of ruining the chain or cassette - the gears literally would not shift)). I suggest to him that he should make his availability for his shop known since he is running a business. He tells me to screw off and hangs up on me. I shouldve seen this coming since - every time we have talked - he was typically complaining about a past customer. Hes a jerk.

This guy runs a bike repair shop out of his garage with a friend. They are awesome. My tire went flat mid-ride, and they were the closest shop. I stopped by and they let me pump up my tire at no charge. They gave helpful advice and we talked for a while about my old-school bike. I definitely recommend them.
