Really grateful to have this great local bike shop in the neighborhood! Theyve saved me on a couple occasions now over the last couple years with repairs. Theyve always done their best to squeeze me in and get me back on the road as quickly as possible.Great service, very reasonable prices, a little slice of Portland that still feels authentic!

Great little bike shop. Knowledgeable, friendly and efficient techs. Totally reasonable prices. Theres a small selection of decent accessories, and a handful of used bikes for sale at various prices. All in all, a great resource for the neighborhood.

SAVED MY DAY AND KEPT THE DREAM ALIVE!I had put off riding and training for a couple days and finally got myself motivated to go out and ride. About 5 minutes into riding, my wheel went flat and I was ready to go down the give-up-rabbit-hole BUT I was only a couple of blocks from this shop and cruised over to see if they could help me. I was greeted and welcomed in immediately and the gentleman (Daniel I believe) told me he could get my bike in and out in just a few minutes and for a very reasonable price. I would also like to mention he was adamantly working on another project and took the time to stop what he was doing to take care of my emergency for lack of a better word.My bike was fixed up, filled up, and ready to roll in about 10 minutes and I was off again and I so appreciate the courtesy, care, and attentiveness I experienced at this business.I highly recommend this business if you are in the area and need any bike assistance.Thank you again and I will be back.Nick

UPDATE:I find the owners response to be obnoxious and more than a bit offensive. He addresses the issue of the chain, but it was visibly lacking any tension and wasnt holding the tension arm out AT ALL, and this guy is supposed to be an expert at his craft. Theres no way that he shouldnt have caught that the chain was far too loose. Even his written reply shows how his attitude is totally dismissive and off-putting, just as it was when I saw him in person. He doesnt even address any of the issues I had with his customer service, lack of clear communication and gaining of consent before performing services, or his absolute lack of COVID safety (keep in mind this was in the beginning of the pandemic before people knew much about the virus) Have some accountability... sheesh...Original Review:I brought in my kids bike wanting to get the chain reattached, nothing more. I brought in two chains because I couldnt recall which was for my kids bike and which was for my wifes. There guy (who never wore a mask or seemed to care about physical distancing) grabbed one of the chains and put it on. Only after I got it home did I realize hed put the wrong one on. It was really very obvious once I looked at it with more than a passing glance that it was very, very wrong. The service was extremely lackluster, I felt more like I was more of a nuisance to them than a customer, the guy I dealt with communicated very poorly about what he was doing or what it was going to cost me. Thankfully it was only $11, but still, $11 to put on the wrong chain wasnt exactly helpful!Owners Response:Its always challenging when a customer brings in a disassembled puzzle without all the pieces. Fortunately the two connecting links I sold Anthony are re usable and much easier to use than the chain tool method he was using (without success) so the chains are easily swapped. I had no idea which chain came of of which bike. I had a 50/50 shot at it. I guess I should have just sold him a new chain and sized it myself.

Bait and Switch! On the phone at the end of the day they said they could, not MIGHT, do the service the next day because they didnt have a lot going on and for the 2 specific things I needed that would cost $65.00, not maybe after I look at it.I get there promptly 5 min after they open and they look at it and it needs exactly what we discussed on the phone but nor they cant get to it until next week and it would be $80.00. Was I born yesterday already!! Needless to say I will not go there again and recommend that you avoidd this place. Also not wearing masks, a state mandate, which shows little respect for their customers health!

Really unhappy with a special order I placed for my mom’s bike. First the wrong item came. Spent too much time asserting the part number that was needed over the phone. When the right item came, it was given to her damaged. She didn’t open the package to see the damage until I came over to install the parts. Tired of trying to get it fixed.

Normally I never write reviews for anyone, but this time was a noteworthy experience. I went there to get a basic tuneup that was much needed on my bike. They ended up adjusting my front wheel spokes as well as my brake and gear cables. I dont know too much about bikes, but I do know that when riding after a tuneup its not normal to have my front wheel wobble from uneven spokes or to have my gears slip anytime I try to change my gears up resulting in my chain to fall off. Service was also not good. I was ignored after I showed up by the two employees having a conversation and had to cut in so I could get the service I came for, not to wait for employees to have a conversation on their own. It is a cute and nice shop, but the poor service and even poorer tuneup is resulting in another tuneup from a more knowledgeable company

Dont expect a warm hug and kiss, but they will fix your stuff with no fuss at a very reasonable price. They fixed up my full suspension mt bike, routed internal cables, adjusted my bent rotor and rear derailleur, bled brakes, replaced pads, new shift cables etc for $100+20something in parts. Im sure the same service at Bike Gallery would have been over $200. I was totally happy and will bring all my bikes there from now on.

Over the past few weeks my wife & I have searched hard for a new city bike that works with her new hip (7 months ago) and our modest budget. We have been to many shops, big & small, all over the city and tried lots of bikes. SW Bicycles owner Dan gracefully accommodated all our quirky questions and requests, all while dealing with his other customers and work. Despite the fact that we have plenty of other good bike shops across town between our Hollywood District home and this small Multnomah Village shop, we ended up buying a Biria Easy 7 from Dan. My wife absolutely loves the bike and the shopping experience here was great. Shop and bike are both highly recommended.

Unfortunately I have bad experiences with this shop . First they charge more what it should be. I had very simple tuneup on my bike . I received it with bad indexing . Noise in the bottom bracket. I asked the man who worked on it why you didn’t put cup on the brake cable . He said Because it short and unraided, okey then replace it !!!!Every time I go I said to myself maybe they change . And I have to support local shop rather than purchase from corporate big chain bicycle shop . Unfortunately same every timeThis one star for the dog because So cuteReply on the owner’s responseI paid $152 For handlebar tape, chain and front brake cable and housing do you really think 8 bucks will stop me ?You sold me chain Twice as much as anywhere, check the value of KMC 11X how much it’s anywhere

I love this shop and I love the guys there. They are funny, quick and very knowledgeable. I kept getting flats and they told me to throw my beer bottles BEHIND me, instead of in front. Hahaha. Duh. LOL. Theres a puppy there sometimes!! She is very sweet. They keep a variety of items in stock and turn around time for work is really good. I usually just wait there for a bit and its done! I also appreciate that they treat me fairly, they dont just see a newbie on a bike and judge. I also appreciate that they are open on Saturdays, since I work during their M-F hours!!
