Chris in service has always been my favorite advisor and he still is. He is really nice and gets me everything I need each time I come through. Chris isnt just nice he is really mindful about the circumstances during the visits as well. For example today he noticed I had my toddler with me so he didnt push getting all my services to be done today. Instead, he let me know he would note it so next time I can plan for it. Chris is also really personable and makes the visits easy and stress free. My favorite is when I can he knows exactly who I am what I drive that tells me he is just that type of person. One who cares and takes the time to care. I highly recommend this service location if you are working with Chris.

I took my truck in for a simple oil change. What most places accomplish in 30 to 40 minutes, Tonkin took 2 and a half hours! Apparently they dont keep the oil filter my truck requires in stock and had to have someone drive elsewhere to get one. Youd think they would have parts in stock especially since I had made an appointment for the work to be done. After 2 hours I went into the service department to find out when my truck would be ready and it was at this time I was informed about the filter issue. The service guy never bothered to keep me informed. So, all in all, the experience I had could be summed up as pathetic and I will take my business elsewhere in the future!

Not a very happy customer. Spent almost $40k on a used Dodge. Less than 25 miles from the dealer it blew a bolt off the exhaust manifold which caused a half a day delay on my trip back to CA. I asked for them to pay for it and they said no. Upon my return to CA, with less than 1k miles driven I brought it to a local shop because the window would not roll up. They found a bunch of stuff wrong with this truck, about $3k in repairs. Driving 1000 miles would not create the problems I had to have fixed. I again called Ron Tonkin and asked for a little help with this and again they said no. Terrible followup and I feel very cheated.

Had recall on 2008 suburban passages side air bag.Wanted to get oil change while there, they quoted for synthetic $109We bought vehicle at Carr but Tonkin is a mile away from where I live now.I called Carr and they said for same service $79.So next time out there will stick with them.SoPicked up Vehicle and Dash was cracked at Airbag repair. Dash had grease oily film all over where repair was performed and they left all the trash for me to take care off.I Went in and Chris service manager said talked to tech and “it was like that”.not only are they over priced on services, customer service and quality is not there.

I really enjoy the waiting area, as a mom of 5, waiting for the vehicle to be serviced was a nice break for me. Well overpriced and while a new key fob made they told me I had to have two of them and I knew that I only needed one. Very adamant about me buying two of them for 670 bucks when I only needed one a persons got to save some money somehow. But not this way. The first time they had my vehicle in there was an easy fix only took him two months. What I would I use them again will you do the math. I would pic no stars but you have to pick one.

Service quality was great, took off 2 stars for having to wait almost 3 hours for a simple oil change on my 2010 Camaro 2SS. They kept trying to up sell services which I didn’t mind cuz that’s their job but the oil change itself for $160 was a bit steep. Overall experience was okay.

The recall service on my car was predicted to take 4 hours but it was ready in 2. That was nice and during the wait time, the service advisor guy could respond to texts which was handy (as in my friend will pick my vehicle up) My needs improvement comment is that when I arrived, both people working the desk totally ignored me for um... the wrong amount of time for customer service. I had that invisible feeling as they went about their desktop business without a peep or even looking up. Not so nice. I know life and jobs are really hard and we all are carrying burdens but some kind of greeting and Ill be right with you, is not too much to ask. I would have loved them even more than I did anyway.

The staff in the shop were caring, understanding, and eager to help. The manager, however, was not only condescending to me, but to his employees as well.Example 1- the loaner car that he suggested I use had a very visible nail in the tire. He attempted to assure me that it would be fine to drive away on. I was shocked that this was an acceptable solution. The woman helping me suggested another vehicle. The manager was clearly annoyed and left her to deal with the problem, while he left to greet a new customer with a brand new car.Example 2- when I asked for a copy of the return loaner paperwork clearing me of liability, he was obviously annoyed and suggested he write something on my check-out paperwork. I asked again for a photo copy. He asked me why, which I responded simply “as a customer I’d just like a photocopy of any and all paperwork”. Then he made the woman at the desk make a copy, because he clearly couldn’t be bothered.Again, I want to emphasize the kindness of the employees. My Grandfather knew and worked with the Tonkin family many years ago. They would all be ashamed and appalled at how that manager treats his employees and customers. Because of this I will never buy Chevrolet again.

After three weeks of being told that my common parts were on back-order, I was finally able to speak with Chris Gain who was able to get my truck back to me in three days. Why couldnt the steps he took have been taken earlier and I would have gotten my truck back sooner? Why can an ordinary person get genuine Delco/AC parts at Amazon or a local parts store but GM back orders them? Isnt a customers need to have his or her vehicle back on the road more important than GMs service protocol? Or perhaps the protocol needs to be revised! I wont be using Ron Tonkin, or likely any GM dealers for my service needs in the future.

I was having my tires rotated and wanted to put a hitch on it so I could use a bike rack. It was supposed to take 20 minutes or so according to Chevrolet. It took more than an hour and a half. They let me know that they were backed up and any work would take 2 hours so I knew it would take awhile. I got a recommendation for lunch and spend the rest of the time in their comfortable lounge.When it was time to pay the bill they charged me only for the 20 minutes that Chevrolet allowed.So I was informed of the delay and not penalized for an inaccurate estimate

Brought my vehicle in for service. I had a check engine light on. I was told $155 for the diagnosis. 2 weeks later we were told that they still were not sure but that it probably needed a new engine. We came to pick it up and it cost over $500. We approved replacing one wire thats it. The person that helped us, Travis, had such a dismissive attitude and acted very superior to us that we decided that we would never be back for service. I looked on line at the cars for sale and the salesperson would not stop texting and calling me. All in all it was a horrible experience and we will take our business elsewhere. I would give it less than 1 star but that is not an option.

My name is Greg Wilson came in for an oil change and tire rotation on 8/23 @8am. Needed to leave by 10am truck got done @10:30 I was late to work. They charged me $90 which I thought was way more than last time, didn’t have time to dispute it since I was gonna be late to work. Got home later in the day and checked my bill from the last oil change and it was only$49. In the future I’ll take my truck somewhere else.I have been a customer for 4 years.

My experience with them was not pleasant.They listed a car with very low price without VIN #. I called them to verify if the car exists. They said yes. Then I decided to go and buy the car next morning 9:00 am when their dealership opens. However, while I was on my way to their dealership, they called me around 8:30am and said that someone else is putting down documents to buy the car, asking if I want something else. Remember, their dealership opens at 9:00am. It is very unlikely what they said is true.I dont believe this is an honest dealer. I will stay away from them.

I purchased a car here in January, and by April it needed a new engine! Either they did not adequately inspect the vehicle or they actively concealed essential information about it. The dealership offered to purchase the car as as a trade in (as if I would want to buy another care from Tonkin), but for 15% LESS than other dealerships. This is an $8,000 repair, and Tonkin feels zero responsibility to even make a good faith offer on the car. I would not recommend that you patronize this business.

Bought a truck and that was decent experience, from the minute we drove the truck off the lot we only had horrible service from that point forward. The truck had studded tires when purchased so they agreed to replace the tires. They put the wrong size tires on the we owe report, then when I arrived to install new tires they had ordered General brand and never gave me an option. I refused those tires and they had to order the correct tires as well as the Chevy hub caps they promised. When I arrived to pick up the truck 5 days later from service they put the new tires on the truck, but threw out the studded tires which came with the truck. Still didnt have caps for tires and said they would mail them, I would have to install myself. Now it is two weeks after tires were thrown out and I have had minimal contact from dealership, dropped calls when they hear I want to speak to manager and no return calls to my messages. Finally today I get call to tell me new purchased studded tires are in and caps as well. I asked why I havent heard from general manager, who I asked to call me and they said this is all they can do. They said it is done on their part and they wont accept responsibility of poor communication or even apologize. Be careful with Ron Tonkin Chevrolet, they very well might try to work a slick deal to take advantage of you.

Its amazing to me that the Gee corporation hasnt come in here and completely cleaned house. The management in the service department is an absolute joke! Service is absolutely terrible! Micro managing and leading by fear will never lead to a successful business, and thats what Ive noticed my last two times I had my vehicle serviced. Last week I watched the manager talk down to the two gentlemen at the services desks, and for no reason at all. If upper management feels thats the best the department has to offer when it comes to management, they better be prepared for constant turn over and unhappy customers.

My car had a check engine light, so I scheduled an appointment to get it diagnosed and resolved. About a week goes by and I haven’t heard anything so I try and touch base with my service advisor. Week after week trying to get an update, and no response. Or in the rare case that I got a response, no update, no timeline, nothing. Week after week. Month after month.5 MONTHS later, after the worse communication I’ve ever had from a company, they inform me the vehicle is finally ready. Great I can finally be done with this nightmare. I wanted them to drop off the vehicle at my home (pretty common request), figured it’s the least they could do after having my car for half a year. And of course they refused, because why not right? Note when you call their store phone, one of the first things they say is “curbside delivery and home delivery options”.So I finally excepted the reality that they don’t care about customers and providing excellent (or even mediocre) service, so I went in person to pick up the Vehicle. I get there and the service advisor hands me the key and tells me it’s parked outside around the corner. I walk outside, try and find the car, finally find it, come to realize the vehicle has a dead battery. Of course. I go back inside, the advisor grabs a jump box and I get the car started. The interior lighting turns on and I realize every seat is COVERED IN MOLD. No wonder they wouldn’t deliver it. Who in their right would make someone sit in mold and delivery me the car? They won’t drive it, but they don’t care if their customer has to endure that. I’m am absolutely shocked this place is in business. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to have to work with this place.

I bought a KIA sportage from this dealership and they pushed a limited warranty extremely hard. Instead of spending $2,000 on a warranty that would likely expire before I needed it I decided to save money for potential repairs instead. A few months later the engine completely gave out. I had no option but to spend $7,000 dollars on a new engine. I called and left 2 messages with the internet sales manager, asking for a call back even if they wouldnt be able to do anything for me. He never returned my call. After spending $11,000 on a lemon I think a call back was definitely the least they could do.
