Did a great job servicing the center differential and shift linkage in my 05 Forester XT. I was pleased to meet a lot of the staff, Kevin, Konstantine, and Jason, and find a lot of overlap in their community with people I know from all over the country in various motorsports worlds. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and capable people here! My Forester is like new and they completed the job a few days sooner than expected despite it being an absolutely ravenous time of year.

Very helpful and friendly. They do an excellent job. Ive bought lots of parts from Rallitek over the years and its always top quality. They know what theyre doing. I will definitely be back when my wife lets me spend money again.

Called in a week ahead to schedule an appointment for a my fenders to be rolled. they said they would, which was great since theyre the only shop that said yea, waited for 2.5 hours in the waiting room, to find out I had to pay what seemed like too much for my fenders too still be rubbing on my wheels. should have just done it myself. nice customer service, just the price for basically nothing was way too much.

These guys are the real deal. Every staff member is knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to explain the details and answer questions even though they are usually busy (highly sought after). I brought them my project Forester (Ej205 / VF48) looking for tune to optimize all my additions. The tuner was highly professional and helped me understand the process in more detail. The tuner and the rest of the staff also gave some great recommendations on next steps for the project without trying to sell me stuff. Had a chance to chat with the owner. It was clear to me where his staff gets their professional attitude and customer experience focus.I have also bought some parts from RalliTek in the past and it was cool to see the show room and some of their projects in the flesh.I could not recommend these guys enough. Customer for life! Only complaint is the mpgs they got while on the dyno ;)

Everything about my experience was great, from the friendly customer service of Ben to the expert tuning done on my 2004 WRX. Since it was new I had always felt that the handling of my 2011 Subaru Outback could be better. It felt top-heavy in corners with body roll, didnt give good road feel, and generally didnt inspire driving confidence.I was feeling a little bored with it but instead of buying a new car I investigated aftermarket suspension parts and didnt find much available for my Outback. I Googled Subaru shops in the Portland area and PREracing came up. During a phone call to PRE, Jason let me know that they could install custom-made coilovers. The installation went perfect and the vehicle handles and drives great now! I couldnt be more pleased. The were also able to perform the post-installation wheel alignment in their shop.I highly recommend PREracing :)

My name is Will Witt I just bought my first Subaru during the unfortunate virus roaming our world today .I walked into the doors of PRE just for a hose clamp just thought this place was a parts store with nice cars inside...I did no research just typed in hose clamps and they showed up on google .Austin asked what he could do for me .Simple dude a hose clamp and that turned into tires then I wanted rims then lugnuts then hella horns then a DYNO pull probably 10 other things.So I asked 1million questions fixed a hose in the parking lot and left . (July 2020)Bam today got there at 9am for the pull and left at 4-5 pm (August 2020)Turns out the car didn’t want a pull it needed it’s squeaky door fixed thanks tuner dude ...and tires first because at high speeds tires tend to fall apart when wires are showing i guess???before the DYNO after the tire change they noticed a leak my turbo inlet hose was loose and we would not be putting it on the DYNO due to the next customer arriving soon no problem what so ever!We scheduled for PRE to tune the car on the 15th of October.Well as for my experience at PRE it was great extremely knowledgeable crew fun environment and awesome stuff to look at .They tend to keep themselves busy working on the 28 Subaru’s sitting at the shop along with the other cars .I absolutely love this place thanks you all are amazing .YOU WILL SEE ME AGAIN AND AGAIN.-Thanks

These guys are absolute life savers! My office shares a building with their shop and my clutch went out on my 07 Subaru Impreza as Im pulling into our shared parking lot. I walked down and asked if they could come take a look. Jason and Kevin immediately walked down to my car, confirmed it was the clutch, and took it back to the shop for me. Despite being booked out three weeks out they squeezed me in and had my car in perfect working condition back to me the following day. They were so nice and kept great communication. I cant say enough good things about their customer service!

I brought in my STI swapped 2.5RS in to have a issue with the ignition fixed, i was nervous that it was going to be a expensive fix but Kevin and the tuner got it in and out at a very reasonable price, they even performed a complimentary inspection and gave me a rundown of the car. I highly recommend PRE to anyone in the tuner world.

We took our car to PRE racing in Portland to have it speed density tuned, they took extremely good car of it and have awesome customer service. They exceeded our expectations and we so knowledgeable we left there knowing much more about our car and with peace of mind it was in good running condition. We are new to the tuner scene, recently completing our first twin-turbo LS project after years of building old school muscle cars. We found PRE to be a fantastically professional shop with a motivated and courteous staff, even for the tuning novice. We made an easy 560 hp at only 8psi with excellent drivability in under 4 hours dyno time, which is a bargain. We will be back soon to have our truck set on kill.....PRE gets results.

I took my 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 in to PREracing to have a gauge fixed and remounted. They not only fixed the gauge but also fixed some other minor issues at the same time that I didn’t even know about! They were able to do all of this and still get me my car back on time which was very impressive! I recommend PREracing to anyone that needs work done on their specialty tuned vehicles and ask for Kevin!! I will be back and I won’t take my Viper anywhere else! Thanks Kevin and team!!!

I took my fox body Mustang in for an alignment last year. I was a little hesitant when I pulled in the parking lot because I didnt see another American car anywhere. They were super busy but they worked me in. When I picked the car up I couldnt believe I was driving the same car I had dropped earlier. It drove better than a new car! The price was under the quotes I got at other places! Now if I could get them to build me a roll cage at a reasonably price I would be a happy camper! Spike Booze

PREracing is phenomenal. From the beginning they were confident and happy to write a tune for my 04 Ranger. All other shops I visited were inexperienced with SCT or simply couldnt tune my vehicle. I took my evo into PRE in the beginning of November. And these guys were in communication throughout the whole process. Just goes to show they seriously do take the extra step to help you out as much as they can. Not only did they do the best job I’ve ever seen. They gave me the car on the same exact day I lost my first white evo to a snow crash 4 years ago. This was seriously one of the top 5 best days of my life. Eric is a very professional and knowledgeable tuner. Went through two tuners in Washington State to tune my 2013 Nissan Pro 4 X with a Supercharger. Nothing but problems until I took it to PRE. Eric turned it in one afternoon and it runs like factory. 32 mpg highway and 323 RWH.

Nice guys and a really nice shop. I really wanted this to become the place for me to get all of my vehicle needs taken care of but it wasnt a good experience. I had new wheels with a fairly aggressive fitment and asked for an alignment and fender roll. After waiting for nearly 4 hours (thinking the whole time they had rolled fenders and finished alignment) I was called back and shown that they raised the ride height in the rear substantially. The alignment was done and they had come close on my specs. I had to get out of there and pick up my kids so I didnt have time to really look things over and was surprised they didnt roll the fenders during that long window of time but just paid for the alignment and left. Turns out, they added 1.5 of rake when I asked for .25 to .4 rake! The car wanted to slam down on the front end on every bump, and ruined the ride. They also didnt keep my steering centered properly so now my wheel is slightly turned right to go straight, even though the alignment doesnt pull. I hated my car until I had time to get someone out to roll fenders and then properly adjusted my ride height back to a balanced setup. For $225 I really didnt get anything done and despite the fact they offered to fix it at no additional charge I didnt have the trust at that point to want them doing anything to my car. Lastly, the alignment specs they handed me in paper form dont make any sense regarding ride height and when I called them, they stated they have no idea where those measurements came from. They arent taken from pinch weld, center of wheel hub, or any other industry standard measurement point. Now my car is a 2001 Miata and it appears when it comes to high horsepower Subies and Evos and anything boosted and race ready, they specialize in that, but for a N/A balanced sports car they sure didnt send me out the door with anything but a lighter wallet and half a day shot.

I want to say that these guys do top notch work, and are some of the best guys around if you need work done on a performance vehicle.However my experience was not the greatest, but I am confident that it was a rare event.I took my Subaru there to get some repairs after a minor collision, and to investigate a noise that started under high boost after the collision. The body work was done by another shop, and there were many problems with this. I did not hold this against PRE at all, as it was mostly out of their hands.What really made me dissatisfied with their service was my last visit there, where I needed a single wheel changed out. I called a 5 days ahead of time let them know when I wanted the wheel changed, a very basic service.Unfortunately, it took over 7 hours to get the wheel changed. They did not have a valve stem, and rather than drive the 20 minutes to the nearest Subaru dealership to obtain one, they instead waited for it to arrive via UPS. All the while I am sitting in the waiting room with nothing to do, as this was my only vehicle.At the end of this when I was required to pay for a smoke test I also had done, they told me this usually takes just 45 minutes for the wheel change and smoke test. Yet I still paid full price for both. I wont be coming back, as they wasted 6 hours of my time. They had almost a weeks notice that I needed the wheel changed. No excuse for not just driving down to the Subaru dealership real quick and driving back. Would have saved me a painful 5 hours in a boring waiting room. I showed up early at 8 am by their request, and left at 3 pm.

Race went out of his way to take car of my vintage sports car. He was knowledgeable, proficient, and professional. He also undid the mess a lesser mechanic fouled up on my car. This was awhile back and I dont know who else is working for him, but he was 100% top notch AND very reasonable. You couldnt buy a review from me, so I have no idea what this other reviewer is even talking about.

Performance Race Engineering​ (PRE) Is a great locally owned performance shop specializing in Subaru and Mitsubishi. Just because thats what they do the most doesnt mean they dont work on anything that comes in the door. They have fair prices and honest employees as well as a large selection of parts for just about any vehicle.

Jason is the best! If I write this review its going to be pretty long so Im keeping it as short as possible. The guys there are pretty down to earth. The shop is pretty tidy. Its a pretty good shop.EDIT 3/25/21 I am updating my review. My husband and I have started the modification process on my 2018 WRX and I just want too say that the service and communication I receive is amazing. I have tons of questions and the boys at the shop make sure they are absolutely thorough and I understand what they are telling me. My husband and I often recommend PRE just on the service alone.Im also going broke but thats besides the point. LOL

NOT PROFESSIONAL! So I have an appointment for my car tuned that will be a month apart, I couldn’t wait that long cause need my car to drive to work. After talking to Austin, he gave me an option that to buy a tuning kit with a basemap so I could drive my car temporarily. He said it would take couple hours to finish and email me same day I purchased. I waited couple days later and received a basemap that they took from different car with different CAI and of course it didn’t work, then the tuner blamed it on my car ECU has different ID and doesn’t support the racerom features. I was cool with that and kept waiting. Now it’s over a week and a half after the day I purchased, haven’t seen it. There is no point to pay extra and keep waiting waiting, and the tune date is coming. Already emailed them to get refund for the basemap but they don’t answer.- They have good customer service but the workers are so slow. If they can’t finish on time, it’s ok but shouldn’t warranty the deadline from the beginning to make me pay then afterwards not being responsible for it. Wish they work as fast as they swipe my card.

These guys do everything they can to make your dream car out of whatever you bring in. very impressive. My race car build has been a better experience because of the team at PRE. Their facility is the best Ive seen in the northwest because of the tools and equipment they use along with the overall appearance of the shop and show room.

PRE came highly recommended from my shop (Superior Import Repair). I had a tune scheduled for a while, but had an issue with my exhaust (crack @ downpipe bellmouth) about a week before the tune. I got the downpipe replaced but it had poor fitment with the speedtech catback I had on the car, so I needed a new catback. PRE was happy to help me pick out and install a new one the day of the tune. Staff was really great and willing to answer any of the questions I had. Im extremely happy with the tune, driveability is noticeably better, power delivery is a lot smoother, and Im a lot more confident with this tune compared to the backyard tune the car had on it from the previous owner. The price was also very fair. My only feedback would be the that the buzzing light in the wait room is super loud and annoying, and the fact that thats my only feedback just shows how great my experience was.

Always super helpful and fast, super cool shop with a wide dyno, fairly cheap but also can allow for expensive customization. Really cool place with really cool people. Would recommend 10/10

Unbelievably great shop and guys (Zack and Kevin were helping me). After buying a used STI in Seattle and driving home, the fuel pump went out at 3pm on a hot friday afternoon in Portland traffic. Luckily I was 2 miles from their shop, so I got it towed over, bought a new high flow pump and they let me change it in the parking lot. Didnt start. Zack was nice enough to roll his tool box into the parking lot to help me at closing time (when they were going to autocross the next day) and test for psi, nothing. Asked if I swapped the spacer from the oem pump....nope. They pulled it and replaced it and I was back on the road. So I got my Cobb accessport from them right then. Seriously got me out of a pinch, totally didnt need to, they went above and beyond. Classy operation. Thanks again guys!

Had my 2005 wrx tuned there a few years back and it ran amazing with 288whp. I plan on bringing my 06 wrx in the next month or so for another tune! Highly recommend!

Be sure to clarify and understand the warranty (or lack thereof) on parts and labor prior to having work done here. Unlike a typical repair shop, because theyre a racing/tuner shop, these guys can & will use the excuse that the performance of non-OEM parts is unpredictable, leaving you with no recourse if the aftermarket parts they install dont perform as expected (or actually perform worse than before the service, as was the case for me). Caveat Emptor.

I took my car here at 9 am. I had my appointment scheduled for 2-3 weeks. When I brought in my car they said they scheduled me for something completely different and didnt even have the part I needed. They told me they would order the part and it would be longer than expected, and that they would also call me when or if they found the part. 3 hours later, no call. I call and am told they have the part and my car would be ready at 5:00. Why does it take 5 hours to do 1.5 hours of labor? Because they pushed my 9 am appointment behind EVERYONE elses for the day? My car should have been first in line as soon as the part came in. And now it will take 5 hours? Also, they cost about $60 more to do the labor than most other shops in the area. I only came here because they were trusted by a family member. Will not be coming here again.

Was excited to check out their selection of parts and see the showroom. Verified that theyre open on Saturdays which they are, and got up early to drive the 60 miles to their store. Upon arrival there was a notice on the door saying theyre closed every Saturday of January. Nothing listed about this on the website, and their page said they were open. Could have added that small detail on your website guys.

Really awesome shop, had a engine rebuilt by them and have had no problems, everyone knows what they are doing and provides excellent knowledge on the cars. Highly reccomended.Update:After the engine rebuild there was a few things going on with my car and PRE has worked with me to resolve the problems. Everyone there is very helpful and knows what they are doing, will still recommend them.

Where can I start, Definitely regret going here!! Spent around 1200$ For a simple stage 2+ tune on my 2006 sti! Seems like he just wanted my car off the dyno for the next customer! Extremely disappointed after the second tune my car still breaks up and overboost!! Save yourself some time and money Nick!!

PRE was very knowledgeable and provided me with what I expected in terms of performance and parts availability. I had them install a number of performance upgrades as well as a dyno tune. I drove down from Seattle and left my vehicle with them for a week and a half to have everything completed. It did cost more than I expected, but thats to be expected with a modified life.

So not even sure where to start called about a month ahead and scheduled a tune only to be called by them a week prior to be asked to move my tuning date and I explained to them that I needed to get the car tuned so I could use it to go to and from school then acted frustrated because I wouldnt move my tune date. When I scheduled the tune date I informed them that the engine was all new and had a lot of stuff done to it and a brand new aem infinity ecu and was quoted $600. Then comes the date of my tune and the nickel and diming began to happen right away. I need an oil change from the first start up when I ran It at my house just fine to break in the cams. I said sure fine just do it I need the car for school then they told me that they didnt slide that they were going to have to setup the aem infinity even though I told them it was all new and I just installed it all. So after waiting around for a long time at the shop they started doing pulls on the motor about 2-3 hours later their tuner Erik decided he was going to gap the spark plugs he pulled the coil on plug and unknowingly the spring fell out and down near the spark plug on cylinder #3 then he pulled all the spark plugs and the spring fell down into the #3 cylinder and he reassembled everything with the spring still in the combustion chamber and jumped into the car and cracked it a bunch of times and was saying he was having a miss fire now. I told them that I read of the spring falling out on some reviews online so they opened it back up and sure enough that is what happened they were using a bore scope and pulling pieces of spring out then they said that the 4g63 motors can handle it and it should be fine after they only found 2/3rds of the spring then they did a compression test and had 190lbs on cylinder #1,#2,#4 but on cylinder #3 it had 30 lbs just happens to be the same one they dropped a spring in. After that they tried to say that it was maybe metal left in the oil pan that wasnt cleaned out only problem is that it was a brand new oil pan then he tried saying maybe it was metal in the pickup tube. T he pickup tube was also brand new that came with the monsro oil pan. They quickly threw everything together and pushed the car back on the trailer and informed me that it was my fault for a bad engine build.The engine is now at the machinist for his official opinion.After the response that has so many bs lines in it I never had a single call from you.

Went to the then several times for suspension work and every time they screwed up the alignment. And then 3rd time back for more work they pulled a bait and switch, wanted Whiteline parts but put in another brand with telling me charging me 80 dollars more for the cost. Definitely not a shop that respects customers that do not have an STI or WRX.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a huge inventory of OE and aftermarket parts. Awesome to have a performance shop in the Portland area that can not only provide you with quality work, but also a wide selection of parts.

The customer service here is really good and they are willing to work with their customer to make them walk out happy. great place to buy aftermarket parts from!

I have had a great experience with the guys at PRE. They know their stuff, good to work with, and I havent had any problems with communication. I drive all the way up from Albany to have them work on my G35 because I dont trust anyone else. I would recommend them to anyone.

Great shop to bring your WRX STi as well as Evo, GT-R, 240, Supra etc... But Subarus especially. From Fabrication to Engine building & Tuning, PRE is a great Tuner Shop. They also have a decent selection of parts compared to other shops in Portland!

The guys at PRE are awesome. Very knowledgeable on many cars. Have been using them to get my custom manifold built for my SRT-4. Their prices are great and the guys there are always willing to help. Will be taking my 2012 STI there for a tune soon as i get all the parts installed soon. Thanks again guys.

Just dropped my Wrx off with these guys for the second time. Got an uppipe installed not long ago, and now getting some brake and rotor work done. They are always very accomodating, and very professional. The work they have done on my car has been solid, and they are always very informative and friendly. I highly recommend anyone looking for trustworthy and reliable mechanics to check this place out!
