This store has a lot to offer with reasonable prices. The staff is better now about where items are located than the first year they opened. You can find a lot of great items for cooking Asian dishes.
Asian store where you can get practically anything you want. Produce sections isnt much different from winco or Freddys but has better selection on Asian veggies and fruit. Can be pricey. The meat department has a huge selection. You can pick and choose the desire amount. Service is not all there. Feel like they try to avoid offering help.
My first stop for groceries!Shun Fat has most of the meat and produce youd find at a Western store but a whole lot more as well.I love SF but Id love it even more if their meat and fish department was better staffed. Ive waited patiently for 15+ minutes before just to buy some shrimp. I want to be able to buy lots of delicious food from SF but that only works if youre there to sell it to me!
All kinds of Asian groceries, very affordable fresh and live fish market right inside..cool little trinkets, charms and cooking, dining supplies..lots of produce ..everything you need in spices as well..you need to go see this place..go, now...
Great store ..they just need to clean up a little more .. but other then that its very cOol to see the things they have to offer
ATTENTION: Masks are not enforced here as of October 7, 2021. Of the 20 customers in store, at least 3 had no masks on. The staff or the security officer on site didn’t seem to care. Something I wish I knew, since I brought my 2 year old with me.Regarding the actual store, SF has a lot of selection of everything, however, sometimes most popular items are out of stock for awhile. I can always find what I need without trouble. Yes, the place smells is fishy, but that is almost expected if you’ve been to most Asian stores.
Pretty solid Asian market. Staff is helpful, if asked. Selection covers typical Chinese and Vietnamese with items from India, Middle East, Indonesia with American items smattered in. Produce is good and carries a variety of fruit, veggies, and herbs. Bulk discount for case prices and larger orders. On our last trip there were a lot of bare shelves. Supply issues?
Great Asian food supermarket with good selection and decent prices.
Love SF. We enjoy trying things we cant read. Which is definitely a hit and miss method. Sometimes it turns out really great though!Produce section is a gem. Great prices. An entire isle of instant noodles. Yes please!
Expect unwelcomed looks from staff and shoppers.Fun store with awesome Asian snacks. If you can ignore all the glares and lack of cleanliness you will enjoy the shopping experience. I still come here for my Asian snack needs but could definitely use some work.
Decent Asian grocery store. First time here and indeed got all the stuff I need. I encountered two small issues though: first, there werent any available shopping carts or baskets at the entrance, which was really an inconvenience; second, the paper bag at the checkout has no handles...I mean, really ?!
Decent selection of many different items it mostly Chinese, Korean in Southeast Asia
Firstly, yes, the place smells *strongly* of fish guts (particularly uric acid). If you can get over that, the place has a decent selection of Chinese and Vietnamese goods, with lesser bits of Taiwanese, Indonesian and South Asian goods, and tiny bits of Korean and Japanese. They had my favorite peanuts from China, so they get 3 stars.*Also, a note about customer service from someone that has lived in most of the countries represented in the store (since so many reviews complain of it)- most of world doesnt have cheery, smiling people working at the grocery store. Its just not how they do things, unless they are a shop that caters to foreign tourists. Its not them being rude, its just not them being an American-style cashier.
I enjoy coming to this store for fresh fish. The only drawback is the smell, but if you can push past that, you wont be disappointed. I come here for parrot fish and new Zealand snapper. They clean and gut the fish for you with option for them to fry it.
Great place to get all of your Asian cooking needs, other groceries as well Great produce selection, with lots of variety you wont find elsewhere!
When it comes to shopping oriental food, this is the place to go! Here you’ll find a variety of items to choose from. I enjoy doing my grocery at SF!
Not so clean in authentic Asian standards. But cleaner than other Asian stores in Portland (northwest). It looks like a bigger store with slightly more selections, but most stuff are not so fresh and Over priced. There is a lady that walks around and monitor your behavior (not security), I think she might be the store owner/manager. She stops people from having plastic bags (the ones from produce) in the cart which seems used to isolate food and cart since no alcohol wipes provided, and take the use ones. Who knows what she’s doing with those.Overall, things are not fresh compare to the price, service is bad, will not return.
I was impressed about the seafood, butchery and veggies section. Definitely I will visit it every week.
This use to be a FRED MEYERS STORE and was always clean and freindly staff. However now that it is no longer here this asain store took its place. This is the first and last time I ever went into this store too. I wanted to give it a go on checking this place out and regretted it before I could really go too far into the store. I wanted to throw up when I entered the store..the smell of fish guts was beyond over whelming. I actually thought someone must of dropped rot somewhere because it was that bad. Besides being glared at and seems like the workers was paranoid or maybe the nasty fish fumes was getting to the employees but it was very disturbing. The place was dirty and I didnt even want to touch anything. Just the place not only looked dirty but the feeling alone was horrid. The prices was outrageously over priced and considering the meat looked like it was not fresh I just lost my apatite. I quickly just left without buying anything. Avoid this place. I am surprised it can pass any food inspection to sell food that is in that condition.
Always such amazing stock, very reasonable prices and good sales. Fresh seafood to purchase and ample parking. Only place to find many of my favorite snacks and ingredients.
This place is great and has wonder produce! I was very excited to see that that has cut fresh jack fruit so that you dont have to buy a whole one. Its so clean and well organized, I love how big it is and the variety of products.
Always love going here great selection and quality the added bonus this time was the cute furniture store on the north side was opened and the owner was very nice and had very reasonbly priced furniture, trinkets, and glassware such as bowls and tea sets was a great experience all around
Ok selection of Asian groceries. California sf markets have way more meat and seafood options
Good clean fresh food and a family like atmosphere from all employees even the security guards, very good calm place to shop for good food.
We enjoyed browsing through the aisles though the store needs more improvement since they just been operated for just 2 weeks. There are still unoccupied spaces. Hope to see bubble tea, bakery, fresh food in those empty spaces. I think this will be the Asian store that well be going to at least once a month. They carry different kinds of fruits and veggies - most are fresh, but of course some are not. The young coconut is very cheap. We dont mind chopping them off, and cracking the shell. The box of mangoes (14 pieces) was only $10.00, and theyre big. Oh, theyre very sweet!!!They do have wide varieties of juice, noodles, snacks, seafoods (theyll clean the fish for you), and a lot more. We ended up buying more than what we came for. Whew! I love the frozen Vietnamese banana leaves cake.On our way out, we received a bag of rice and a bottle of hot sauce for free.If theres one negative comment we can say is when they speak in their own language while they are ringing up the customers. We think its unethical. We understand that its easier for them to communicate in their native tongue, but not in front of their customers who dont speak their language. Other than this observation, Ill be back to this store.
Might not shop here anymore, tired of having cashiers, baggers and employees be rude to me because Im caucasian. Seriously...polite to people in front of or behind me but rude as hell to me. Ill find another store with better customer service.
Horrible customer service. Too many times to go into detail but these last two prompted me to post a review. Their hours on the web and on their door says 8:am - 8pm. False information!!! I got there twice at 7:45pm and they wouldn’t let me in. The first time, the main door was open, I walked back to the store and they stopped me from going in to get one item. Forgot about that experience, went by at 7:45pm today, this time the front door was locked. A few other customers arrived about the same time as I did and we didn’t understand why. After wondering for about a minute, the door opened when a customer walked out. One other customer and I walked in. The security guard hollered down the hall to let us know they are closed. We ask him what their hours were, he said 8pm but they are closed now. It was only 7:52pm!!!Management, either you honor your posted time or correct your time on the internet and your door so people don’t make an unnecessary trip. It’s s false information you are putting out!!!
I go here to get my asian foods, there is also a nice boba place next to it.
Good place to shop for Asian foods. I dont like their meat and seafood section. They focus on their job too much and forget to serve their customers.
CHECK FOR EXPIRATION DATES!!!!! I bought five cans of garbanzo beans, then noticed the first I opened was gelled up like canned cranberry sauce. How do y’all sell canned food that expired in 2019??????? It’s gonna be 2021 in like a week!I hope I don’t die, as I already added the one can of beans to my dinner, and also hoping it doesn’t ruin my idea to have several days of leftovers from this dish....
So much seasonal yummy and a fish counter that even scale, guts, and if you want fry your fish all for the same price!
This grocery store is huge! They have a large variety of produce, meat, live fish, lots of frozen & pantry food & ingredients, and also some household items, and kitchenware. I don’t cook very much, but I’m sure I can find anything I’d need here
Thank you to whoever found my phone and turned it into the lost and found! Youre awesome 👌 didnt realize it was missing until I was heading home lol
Great place to find Chinese medicine items and Asian supermarket and other asian based items.
This is is one of my 2 favorite grocery places to shop for necessities. If youre Pacific Islander or Asian, you should check it out! For the islanders out there who are looking, they have pugua aka betelnut and lime. It would be nice to have a small bento place or deli so that we can buy food for after we shop though.
They have a vast produce selection and unique utensils and kitchen tools. Live fish tanks and a solid butcher selection. There is a great selection of herbs, spices, currys, caned goods, noodles, teas, treats and more. I really like this store.
I felt like I was walking into a dream! Walking in here feels very, other place, other time, other than that the security guard staring me down like meat and the smell of raw meats were the only downsides to this super cool Asian food market :)Make sure to say hi to the buddah statue on the way in and out!
More expensive than Fubon. They charge for paper bags, so bring yours. Items are not always consistent. Too many pre packaged veggies, so if you only need a little bit of a veggie you have to buy more than you need.
They are the only place in town I have been able to find my favorite ramen! YAY!Really good selection in a very large market. Tons of great quality produce. Very cute tea pots and sake sets.
Great place for stuff you dont find in most places
Good selection. Had .out of what I was looking for.
3 star, because some of their goods by the checkout services are expired and unsure if theyre pulling it off the shelves, Ive had to tell my kids a couple of times that well buy candy or chips elsewhere.
Slow, food is expensive than Hong Phat market, the cashiers bla bla bla with each other too much..
I like how they have things that some grocery stores dont have
Love all the options they offer. Produce section was amazing! The live seafood tanks however, seriously need to be cleaned. Saw multiple dead fish just floating around. Eew. Really bummed about that part as thats what I previously raved about to friends. Everything else was cool. Prefer Uwajimaya at this point. I feel that they have a better selection and the live tanks have better upkeep.
I ordered a box of enoki in chili sauce. They told me I can pick it up on Tuesday. I drove all the way for nothing. It isn’t there, and they say they don’t even have the order. Not to mention that when I ordered it, they were not even friendly about it. What a customer service. Thanks for nothing.
Great stores inside good pricing on merchandise
Its a really great place to get your supplies from Asia and abroad at fair prices.
Nice selection of fresh produce and not crowded.
Its nice i get my stuff quick
Large Asian grocery store with a good selection of fresh fish, both river and ocean type. I like that you have the option to have it cleaned in-store ( and can even be fried for you). I found a lot of ethnic type food, not only Asian. The price point is pretty standard in comparison to H-Mart, Fubonn, and Hong Phat. Its a little out of the way for me, however, I always find the types of fish Im used to eating here. For that reason, I drive the 30 minutes it takes even when Lilly Market, Islander Market, and Hong Phat are just 5 minutes away.
Every things you want Asian food are here...😀
The attitude of the cashiers is strange. For example, when I was asking for a bag at Fubonn, another asian supermarket, they always help me pack everything inside the bag. The cashiers at SF supermarket threw me a bag and they looked at me like an alien. It happened many times. They looked like why I am not hurry up and go away.
Have to go again much love
Been here twice got really good fried fish. You pick it they will cook it or just prepare it for you. As a Asian store it self very nice in finding what your looking for. Best iv been to so far love it and highly recommend if you like oriental food.
This place is better than fubonn for the cleanliness and fresh meat department and live seafood tanks but like all Asian markets and has a distinct Market smell and the produce is actually quite excellent
If you know what youre looking for specifically its a great place... Or if you can read Japanese. Decent pricing good selection of ingredients for someone who loves to actually cook from scratch.
I miss the old Freddys that was there but this new place has a lot of stuff too.
So glad this is opened. Just rel9cated from S Cal. Was very disappointed at the Asian stores. Finally this is what Im used too. Large selections of Asian food and being its new, its very clean. So happy! Now Im hoping therell be a take out restaurant selling roast Duck, BBQ pork etc in this mall. Looks like theres room for that.
Still under construction. Not too many people. Some brands were out of stock, but there was nothing that didnt have some stock. Could of used more Japanese products.
I really love this place its very reasonable on a lot of products
Love the fresh lobster and fish From here
High price furniture but beautiful stuff
They have alot of stuff at fairly decent price
Many items have no pricing, some have no product name ...ex: if you went in to purchase Watercrest you would have to know what it looks like because theres no label on or near the product tell you what youre purchasing.
This is my go to grocery store! They have some of the harder to find ingredients like curry leaf, and the shitakes are divine.Friendly and helpful staff too!
Vast selection. Exceptional produce offerings. Fair prices.
Says they close at 8 but i went in at 745 and security told me we are closed lol really sign say 8 ill be out in five no sorry were closed ok people u dont wanna close at 8 change your hours on the door and online the other store a couple miles down closes at 10 guess whos gonna get your customers :):)not very smart
Great big clean Asian grocery store with lots of price and meat! I found a few things Ive been searching for and not finding at the other Asian grocery stores lately!
They are well stocked on produce and staples. I saw one customer not wearing a mask, which was disappointing. She eventually put one on. I wish they had markings on the floor to show people where to wait at the checkout stands. But all in all it was a smooth process.
Very spendy! It was much better when we had the small Asian shop just on Insley, right on the other side of the 82nd.Prices were much better.
Great experience.
Awesome. Although I lost my ray bans in there somewhere. Lol.
Lots of fun food. Amazing customer service . Great looking produce !
Great selection of food and interesting products
I went to this place to buy fish . There were 5 associates in meat department and no one spoke English. I didnt buy anything, and wont return to this store
I love the asian markets. I find great ingredients for my cooking that are hard to find at other stores
Spacious, great place to buy bulk rice.
Closed 15 mins earlier than publicly announced. Terrible attitude. Wasted my long trip. Will never spend a dime here ever again
Under renovation. Place frankly reeked.
Great selection, unfortunately alot of things were out of stock.
Its clean, nice and a wide selection. Unless the worker there is at the register you request for help maybe ignored out of the fact I believe most people who work here speek very little english to none. If you have any questions I believe its best to ask for a manager or cashier in the front. Pointing and showing by fingers how much you would like of something (if you only speek English) will be good enough. Everyone here is fast at there jobs! Watch out for the guy who gives you raw fish with his bare hands if thats something that concerns you.
Bright inside and good selection.
Best international selection (mainland asia) of any asian supermarket but sometimes out or missing staple ingredients.
Great selection fair prices
Asian store with most of vegetables some you don’t find anywhere and lot of fruits, of course meat and seafood!
