Great staff and atmosphere. Room pics are overstated and must upgrade to get a newly renovated room. They resort photos of the rooms should be updated to reflect the actual expectation. Either way... spectacular views waterside and walking distance to many different options for restaurants, bars, shopping, & beaches.

Stopped in for drinks and an app. Had a wonderful time. Tuna app was outstanding! Glad we went. It may become one of our favorites!!

Hey, if you like to hang and enjoy some food with exceptional drinks this is the place. Theyll park your vehicle so you can hang by the bar or pool all while enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of every size boat you can imagine. I enjoyed sitting watching the multiple TVs and engaging in conversations with the locals and multinationals. The service was friendly carefully thought out and I felt very comfortable there. Soak it in!

Excellent hotel for the price, beautiful view, nice people. Rooms were clean but showed some wear as youd expect from an older beach front hotel. If youre expecting a 5 star hotel then youd probably better find somewhere else for 3 times the price. For us it was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was tired. Door knobs were falling off in our room, blood on our sheets, and blinds missing, allowing lots of light into the room. There were also multiple roaches in the main lobby bathroom.**see photos**Staff at the desk and bar weren’t friendly. The staffs attitude came across as if they really didn’t want to be there.The restaurant next door, the rusty hook, had staff with the same kind of attitude as the bar but their food was VERY GOOD! Their salads can feed two!The pool closes at 7pm; early.Pool deck is decorated nicely and you have nice views at the bar and restaurant. The hotel is in walking distance to the beach and fun restaurants.

If you want reviews, I hope you want honesty...we booked two adjoining rooms for a girls weekend. Reservations and rooms screwed up MULTIPLE times. DO NOT RELY ON THE PHOTOS OF THE ROOMS... they are not in any way, shape or form what you will walk into. Curtains half unhooked from the windows, 2+ year old tinfoil lining the heating elements of the stove, carpet pieced together in three different colors. 20 years of old smoke smell and plastic feeling coverlets on the beds. Good thing we all know how to make the best of it. But I will not stay there again. The bar and pool are nice, but drinks are way overpriced unless you hit happy hour. I dont have photos of the rooms as I didnt want to remember...😱

Beautiful location, the staff was great, and the food was good. The hotel itself could use a renovation. Its definitely on the older side. The beds werent great but at least they were clean and flat. (I spend a lot of time in hotels and youd be surprised at how terrible the beds are at so many places) Giving 3 stars mainly for the lack of renovation.

This place should be described as an outdated MOTEL with decent views. This is not a Resort. My Husband and I only stayed here because they had already charged our card prior to arrival. Never, ever again. Honestly this place should be demolished.

Beautiful location great scenery across the water from Houston fabulous restaurant on the water of the Intracoastal Waterway also a beautiful restaurant right two doors down from the hotel highly recommended fabulous spot two blocks from the ocean you cant do any better! Highly recommended!

I’m not sure where all these bad reviews came from but my boyfriend and i had a great experience! Room was clean, view from balcony was beautiful and the pool and restaurant and poolside bar was fantastic! Great front desk service as well. All around a great experience!!

The staff are super nice, thats the best part of this hotel - theyre kind & theyre genuine. If youre looking for a beautiful resort to vacation at, the pictures on google are photoshopped by professionals. The waterfront has so much potential, but this place is run down. The room I stayed in was clean but very humble. The King size bed had such a huge dip in the center of the mattress it made it impossible for me to roll over in the night, it was so sad it was funny. There was one vending machine on the fourth floor & it was broken! I just wanted a bottle of water so the guy at the front desk gave me a cup of water from their office water tank. Talk about a lost opportunity to make some money. The hotel could just sell me a bottle of water & make some money, but I think they should have a vending machine working on each floor. Maybe my expectations are too high? One of my ceiling lights was literally hanging out of the ceiling & the door handle to the patio was falling off the door. So I hand twisted the screws back into the handle so that I could lock the patio door. The front door was very sticky, it made it so that you really had to pull hard to get the door to open. That made it really funny & scary in the morning when the maid tried to come into my room at 9am without knocking. She couldnt get the door open so she asked her male counterpart to help her open the door. They thought it was just stuck, but I had chained it the night before. I didnt hear anyone knock, the guy ripped the door open & pulled the chain right off the door. He was super startled to see me stand up & glare at him. I was trying to figure out who was forcing their way into the room, but it was just housekeeping. The guy was startled to see me, I was startled someone just broke the door open, the woman was so embarrassed & apologetic that I was torn between being scared & feeling bad for her. I told the front desk what had happened, they really were very nice about it. Thats why its hard to give this place only 2 stars, because everyone there is so nice & genuine, I appreciate that. But if you want a full up-scale resort, this is not the place. If you want a cheap ghetto motel in the hood, this is also not the place. If you want a clean place with good people, and dont mind if the building is old & run down because you just need a place to sleep, then this is your place! Hopefully they see this review & consider shaving down the doors with the humidity that makes the doors swell up. And hopefully they start selling water or get their only vending machine fixed. Theyre good people, I hope they turn this place around.

I had my daughter 17 birthday party there and her and her friends had an amazing time. They loved the pool and the food!! Our server and the managers were amazing!!! Love this place!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!!

Perfect spot! Near great restaurants and bars, two streets across from the beach. And every room has a great view of the pool and marina, draw bridge and boat traffic. Balcony allows beach air in your room. And the price beats most around for this location and quality.Room was clean, no funky beach smells, and bathroom was updated and clean as well.Pool was small but nice, and staff was friendly. Ill be back.

For our 71st Bday, my Miami homegirls selected this place. Wow! were we pleased!.....Delicious FOOD,wonderful friendly staff. Gorgeous,breathtaking scenery and beautiful views surrounded us. Weather was perfect!

The Sands harbor used to be a great place for local boaters to stop at anytime of the day to relax, knock off the salt from a day of fishing or just a nice lunch with friends. The new ownership for some reason is trying to make this another yuppie waterfront restaurant with what I would call just ok food and not great service(not sure where the other reviews came from saying they have great service). There are plenty of places on the water for fine dining or upscale hang outs but very few left with that local feel, if I were the owners I would rethink the plan moving forward since this place was always the place to be for fun Florida living and entertainment with friends.

Take your boat. Dock it. Have great food and drinks jump into the pool and have captain dribe you home. Perfect afternoon destination on a boat! Thx team.

This is next door to the Rusty Hook. The ambiance was way better, saved our night! Thanks Chef Dan! The food wasnt the best but wasnt the worst. The service and employees were so helpful and accomodating! The chicken wings came out sooooo spicy we couldnt eat them, and the chicken sandwich wasnt spicy enough. Loved the plantain chips but the Tuna i couldnt eat. Didnt taste right. However we were so grateful for a party of 10. They were great. We had a good time w friends.

Im local and have been coming here since I was a child... It used to be so much better... My husband and I wanted to get away for a staycation and after seeing the room I couldnt do it... We asked for a refund and they refused but we left anyway. This room was SO GROSS... nasty Standing water from a rooftop was the view. I spent $64 at the bar for an appetizer that just wasnt worth it and two drinks. Bar tender was cool but the hotel staff were pretty rude. Honestly, save your money. A public pool would have been a better choice for the day. Ill never be back. Fyi... They used a closet door as the headboard.

This is NOT a resort. This is a ROACH MOTEL. RUN AWAY. The pictures online are not accurate. They look to be stolen from somewhere else. The valet worker was rude and unhelpful. The check in desk area was like being in a basement. There were power cords exposed. The elevator stopped working. The balcony door handle was broken and hanging on by a thread. Our feet were sticking to the bathroom floor so you will need shower shoes while in the room. The door to the rooms were sticking shut so we had to force our way in and out. Pictures and mirrors were hung crooked. There was really no decor. Window tint was peeling. The parking lot was unkept and shady looking. The shower head sprayed too hard (like a firehose). Checkout was unorganized. There was ripped carpet. There was broken ceiling tiles with holes. I was worried about what might come out of the hole. The bathroom fan and AC wall unit was loud.

I used to frequent this Bar/Restaurant. Tiki bar by the Intracoastal waterway. It was great back then when we would go by boat. Plenty of fun, good drinks and decent food. NOW MORE RECENTLY, There is more to offer a new classier Restaurant etc. I never actually stayed in a room there for a staycation. I would usually stay on the Ocean and this is not on the Ocean but the Intracoastal waterway. Overall used to be fun and still is for different ways. Hope this helps with some questions.Have a great time down here in South Florida,. My home of nearly 30 years.

Came here on a boat with friends from the area for lunch. Docked up and went to bar. Bar tender got lost. Anyway she left and another bartender took over who was much better. Everyone friendly. A little better than basic bar food, but good and no complaints. Prices were decent. Great place to watch the boats go by :)

This place not a good clean spot very worn out. The pictures online was very different than in person. The bathroom was dirty as heck Tub black,sheet brittle likely to rip, not good spot. Dnt recommend, the front desk guy gave me the wrong room, then gave me a key to another which someone was living in,offer another room which was still the same way as the first1. Went for lunch seated by the inter coastal waterway. Grouper sandwich and cheese burger were both very good. Full bar available.

Our premium room overlooked a dirty roof top where people roamed late at night. The toilets didnt flush nor did the shower work properly and my feet were constantly black from the dirty floors. I wrote clean me on the filthy elevator mirrored wall. There were 4 pool side lounge chairs available for hotel guests because they cater to it being a restaurant. I ordered the calamari but couldnt eat it because it was soggy and smelled fishy. They blamed covid for their frozen muffin and yogurt breakfast yet packed people on the patio. When in need of towels I was told they were in the laundry and I had to give 24 hr notice to have my room cleaned. $900 for 4 nights plus a $20 fee to park overnight. Worst hotel experience ever. But I gave one star because when I looked to the right the view was beautiful.

The elevator had a spilled can of Heineken that smelled disgusting. The hall had towels in it the paint and floor were peeling. They have a bar that played loud thumping music until all hours. The food was not worth the price. 0nstars is more like I t.

We have been here for 5 days, we were out in a room that in no way resembled what is on website or on any of their material. Dingy would be being nice. Wish I could give the bar and restaurant staff 5 stars and hotel 0. Stay away. It is not what they say it is, the front desk didn’t answer the phone for 5+ hours in the middle of the day. Took demanding and standing at front desk to get 2 new towels after being here for 4 nights. Cable broke, was told they did not have maid service or maintenance service. Never once asked if we needed trash taken out or room cleaned/sheets/towels even after inquiring about trash was never given an answer. Deplorable. Stay somewhere else and come enjoy the pool/bar area. Trust me you do not want to stay at hotel.

Stay far far away! 0/5 starsAs soon as we stepped into the room we knew it was instant regret. From the condition of the room to the constant running toilet (they fixed this) The walls had been beat up and missing paint. To our lovely “balcony with a view” overlooking a beautiful dirty roof and air conditioning units. Day 2 as we returned from the pool we came back to our door wide open, mind you be had the do not disturb on the handle. Felt uncomfortable from that point on. Spoke to the manager they stated that no one entered the room it was a windy day and that’s probably what opened the door. But again who would admit to that happening. TV never worked, they had one elevator the whole time. Absolute dumpster fire of a stay. We couldn’t find somewhere else to stay in the area or else we would’ve been long gone.Don’t stay here!

This place is really old, there is nothing that is updated, toilet water running all day and night, TV not working, the location is good, beach is beautiful, very close by, they have live bands on weekends. Overall forget about the building, enjoy the surroundings area

The property/resort is in terrible need of renovation. The Sands Harbor Restaurant needs the same, the food was not very good. Sloppy.

During the course of my 7 Day stay here, there was consistent construction and renovation going on. The phone in the room was a step up from a rotary. When making an attempt to even call the front desk even through my cell phone it took a minimum of two phone calls and 8 to 10 rings. The pool closed at 6 pm everyday which to my surprise in Florida was kind of odd. The complimentary breakfast which they said they would provide daily was no more than a fruit cup, applesauce and a small muffin. For the most part the room was clean and the staff was friendly. If youre looking for a night or two its fine.

The resort is very nice, it has everything you would need if you didnt want to leave the resort. The beach is 2 blocks away and very beautiful. Several restaurants around the resorts also. The only complaint I would have about the resort are the thin walls, if you are a light sleeper just be prepared if you have loud neighbors surrounding you. If you will rarely be in the room than this is the place for you.

Looks good on the outside but that’s abt it. The tv did not work the bed broke. Later that afternoon we told the front desk and they told us there we’re going to send somone no one came and people next to us said they had the same problem. The people next to us said that the guy “that helped” came at 1 in the morning with no warning while sleeping. Before checkout we found a roach in the hotel and later one in one of our bags. The elevators did not work. Sorry but this was not the move for my family

I would give zero stars if possible. Our booked room was supposed to be a remodeled room with water views only to arrive and be given a room in much despair overlooking a dirty roof. The door alone only opened after 5-10 attempts to open with the key due to the wood having swelled and sticking every time. It required a kick to push it open from the inside. It went downhill from here. The TV did not work. Half of the plugs did not work. The bathroom was disgusting. The vent was an open hole that looked full of mold. The shower had hair in it and the drain in the tub did not work. There was also no hand soap available and the lobby hand sanitizer remained empty for our entire stay.The room cleaning was upon request only and when we requested towels one morning before leaving for the day we still did not receive towels until that evening when we requested again by going to the desk because no one would answer the desk phone. The entirety of the hotel looked and felt like a dump.We inquired into speaking with a manager almost daily and were ignored.. at one point we came into contact with an event manager but that was as far as we got. The bar staff were friendly and the only redeeming quality about the entire place. Good luck finding breakfast. Definitely was not offered at the hotel. But there was a great diner within walking distance.

Exceptionally reasonable price for the accommodation. We really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast (during Covid) is a take out box with muffin, banana, additional fruit (apple or orange) fruit cocktail cup, juice cup, with napkin and a small coffee bar available. We have been going to Sands for years now and come by boat. We heard it was under new owners and wanted to check out the place since we have always stopped there and had have had good experiences prior. Although not upscale the food was always priced right and the environment was nice. During this experience, the food was terrible. We ordered the fish dip which was a tiny scoop with old chips thrown on a plate for $15. Next we ordered the club sandwich which had old/cold deli meat. I was repulsed by the sandwich. Our bill for one appetizer, and sandwich which we split and 4 drinks was $85 plus. It’s disappointing to see such a local spot go down hill. Service was also terrible since the bartender was crying which made the service short and unfriendly. Will not be going back with too many other options on the water.

Man o man where do I start? I called them about 11am with a nice mutton for them to cook and jake answered. He said come on right over we will get you fed! When we arrived Jake greeted us at our table and we received the best customer service. They cooked and served our catch like no one else. Amazing experience and the manager himself (Michael) came out to greet us making us feel special. Amazing experience. Definitely will do it again! From a local to a local!!

We were in a penthouse on the 9th floor penthouse. While there one of two elevators failed and sat broken for 8 days. Tonight, you guessed it! The remaining elevator died. Broward County Sheriff there to prevent mutiny! Front desk laying down the same BA story. Elevator company is on their way! We gave up and walked up 9 stories on a full tummy after 1/2 a bottle of great vino!Pretend for a minute that you owned this place. Honestly, would you let the spare elevator be down for 10’days and counting? There’s a very senior citizen in the lobby who needs her meds and guess where they are?Anyway, probably better to stay elsewhere!!

The sand retort and marina!My reason for staying there was to go to the Hillsboro inlet lighthouse which departs from their doc. How excited I was to be staying at a Marina and resort. Arrived Friday evening after 5:00, location was great easy to find. Oh its a old building hotel establishment, thats okay I stayed in Old establishments such as the casparilla inn.Should have known there was trouble right from the start. When it came to parking. There has to be over a hundred rooms, they have two restaurants and a patio bar, with entertainment, and a parking lot that might offer 40 parking spaces, once I parked I did not want to move and not have a parking space for the night.And then there was the check-in, Ive been to several hotels with restaurants bars and I never had to leave a deposit on my card for each day that I stayed in their hotel! Still not letting them ruin my excitement of my weekend plan, get my key go to my room cant wait to see The view, go out on the patio and my view is the roof of the building attached to the hotel resort! Not happy with that for the price they charge, I go back to the front desk to change rooms, and they could not accommodate me. Okay I can live with that, Im still on vacation. As I start to settle in and look around, I realize just how run down this hotel resort really is. The walls, the light shining through the door, the security locks on the doors, Im glad it didnt rain, I would have hate to see what would have happened. The Best was the Patio furniture inside the room? Ive seen better rooms at la Quinta inn. oh theres music playing sounds like people are having a good time at their patio bar, let me take a shower. That was a mistake, felt like 1960s water hose spay down, it was terrible, not to mention running out of hot water, never experienced that at a hotel! Now all these things I can handle, because these are things that you can leave there. So with that said I had to leave my articles outside in fear that I brought home a couple of little friends that I seen roaming the premises. Theyre so called continental breakfast is where I had my first encounter. Now I dont mine paying the price, but I think there should be a level of quality. If youre going to pay that kind of money you should definitely look around, and save yourself a couple of dollars and just stay at a la Quinta inn or Holiday inn you will be much happier on checkout!!!

Horrible experience. It looks like the hotel is mid renovations. Not only that, after seeing the hotel condition we decided to move to another hotel- they wouldnt even refund our money even though we were not staying there. A very poor customer service. Not recommended at all.

We went 2 times this week to The Rusty Hook Tavern, earlier was better for our preference. Around 5 pm for happy hour was heavenly, due to great streamed music that created a relaxing ambiance. We went after 8 pm the second night -- a live band was playing outside, but the indoor music was also playing. The competing noises made the dining experience agitating. Service and food both nights was great, but it seems the house music should be turned off on the nights a live band is playing.

I can honestly say never been more disappointed. My friend and I live here and eat out quite often. Sands Harbour Patio Bar & Grill apparently have new chefs, and they have no clue. 1/4 cup guacamole & chips(approx. 15-20 chips)($15.00); 4 frozen fried mahi fingers(looked like mozzarella sticks) with small cup of tartar sauce($15.00); 1/2 glass of wine($9.00). There was no presentation; other than pretty plates. You have to care about the food and the presentation or you shouldnt be in that position and called a chef. Waitress was attentive and did the best she could. She has been fielding complaints about the ratio of food given versus the price for quite some time now. She was very attentive and apologetic about the experience. SHE actually deserved and received a $15.00 tip. She was worth it. As adults, we have no problem paying for ambiance and food, if the experience and the food is worth it. Lets be real, is the intercoastal waterway really worth $100.00 for dinner? Not this one. Too many other restaurants in the area to go to and have a much better experience. My suggestion is to look somewhere else to spend your money.

Beautiful views of the marina, nice lakeside breeze and a fun atmosphere with live music made this a great place to stay at for the weekend. The rooms are a great size and bed real comfortable. And theres even acces to two restaurants right from the lobby! Would definitely stay again.

Our room was absolutely filthy. Beware of bed bugs!! Our feet were black from the time we showered till we put on shoes to leave the room!! I had to get down on my hands and knees with Clorox wipes and wipe up the whole floor to get all the dirt. The rug is so dirty it needs thrown out.Our sheets had large stains on them, the bed cover had make-up on it (I dont wear make-up), When I remade the bed there was FOOD between the top sheet and the blanket!!! The pillow cases werent large enough to cover the pillows. The balcony was severely chipped up. The adjoining room door threshold was disgusting and my friend and I spent another hour cleaning that up. The floor was coming up in their room and her floors were just as filthy. I cant believe you are allowed to operate this way. If you cant get rooms clean and prepared you shouldnt be selling them. You cant make this stuff up!!!

It does offer a nice atmosphere, however you now can only Valet park or pay to park across the street and for 2 of us to have a few domestic beers each, Miller Lite in a can and Yuengling draft, it cost us $70 without food!

I rarely give 1 ⭐ but WOW HORRIBLE. Food and service terrible. Visit my family often and have been coming here for years but this time TERRIBLE. The menu is very limited and price has sky rocketed and NOT worth it. Ordered calamari, fish dip, Jerk chicken wings with fries . Wings and fries were soggy and not hot at all... Blennnnnnd and wilted calamari...I do NOT recommend this place at all unless for the view. I will never come back. Is there new management? If so, please correct what you need to correct.

Great place for a quick getaway. We stayed 1 night for New Years. The rooms need to be updated desperately but the bar/restaurant on the intracoastal is great. The view we had facing west was awesome with all the fireworks going off for NYE 2021.

The Sands Harbor Patio Restaurant and Bar are outstanding. Wonderful atmosphere, really good food, good value. Best of all outstanding service. We had a server named Z. Wow what a personality and oh so attentive to our every need.

I cancel my reservation once I get there and my kids were in the pool because after pay more than 230 bucks Tony, from the pool restaurant told us we can’t seat in any chair in the pool area if we don’t buy from the restaurant, we ask for a coctel and he said that it is not enough so, we couldn’t get a seat even with my paid room. I also feel he treat us different maybe because we are Latinos.Not recommended at all.

The customer service was fine but the vallet was very confusing. Our check in was at 4 and they said they would text us when our room was ready which it was never done. And the room took too long to get cleaned. Inside of the building is dirty and falling apart and the elevators made me feel as if I’m going to get stuck on there. Once we got to the room there was mold in the trim and dust and the floor was bright blue and taped together with duct tape. The beds were full sized and it was EXTREMELY outdated. It is a scam and everything advertised was not there. 0/10.

BEWARE. The room I stayed in had bed bugs and I woke up with several bites after my stay. The hotel smelled funky and had a dirty feel to it.

Great staff and the atmosphere was awesome.

Good old FL hotel. Not fancy, get it cheap

The penthouse deluxe has a fantastic view and we will absolutely be back here again. We last minute decided to change our travel plans from miami to ft lauderdale due to all the recent craziness going on in miami. Scrambled to find a hotel option and the reviews here were mixed. So glad we went for it. Close proximity to the beach, great bar and grill by the pool downstairs and once again, stunning views from the 9th floor penthouse with huge wrap around balcony.

Stopped in one evening for a late dinner and drink at the bar. Ordered the mahi tacos and they were served on completed unwarmed tortillas and with cold soggy french fries. After a while, I got the bartenders attention and she said she would get some new fries, which she did... by the time I was done eating. I also had two vodka/sodas, which were just a diluted mess. I imagine you can deal with this for a nice waterside view during the day, but at night and just for the food and drink, it was not great.

Hostess lost my information while we were waiting so we had a very long wait to be seated. The last two times I was overcharged. You better pay close attention to the prices which have already been raised on the menu because when you let your guard down the check will most likely be inflated. A couple of weeks ago a mahi sandwich was $16 but I was charged $18 and I caught it. The last time I went the same mahi sandwich was now marked $18 on the menu but I was charged $21 and I didnt notice it until after the fact. Now Im noticing a glass of wine that was between 6-7 dollars the last time I was there, now I was charged $9. It doesnt feel good to feel ripped off.

Had lunch at the Sands Harbor today. prior to 2020 had eaten severals times there and the food was excellent. The food is now terrible. I had the Maui tacos the tortillas were hard and stale, burnt cold fries, coleslaw had no taste. The Chicago dogs looked like two oscar meyer hot dogs with no toppings . The service was horrible could not find the waitress for her to fix the issues .The food was definitely not worth 117.00.
