I went in to get my breaks checked, making squealing noise. That was the ONLY issue. They said the brakes and rotors needs to be replaced so I informed the manager that I replaced it less than 1.5 years ago (all tires). I warranted out the parts and paid Midas a labor of $350. I took it home and I started hearing same squealing noise and my car started to shake/vibrate when I tap on the brake at 55mph+. Note I had only squealing issue before. They asked me to bring it in, so I took it back and fix was brakes needed some lubricant. Took it back home and same squealing sound came back and same vibration/shaking issue. Called them again and they asked me to bring it in, so I took it back and next day they called me to pick it up. Upon asking them what was the Fix, they said we balanced your Tires and now you owe us $40 (rounded). I told them that I m not paying because that work needed my authorization first and I didn’t get any call. That same day after arguing with the manager on duty, I took one of their mechanic on a test drive and he even acknowledged that the issue is still there. So what’s next… I contacted the manager again and they said I will get a call and all…after multiple attempts. Midas has now completely ignore me and my call backs. Now I m questioning did I really needed the rotors and brakes replaced ?

I spent nearly $4,000 on repairs at Midas Plainfield. I lost complete trust in Midas after Tony the manager charged me for services I didnt authorize. I told them I didnt want it done and they did it anyway. Also the service was optional and not even necessary. Tony said he would call me back to resolve the issue and never called me. Some suspension work they did made no difference in my car and was money down the drain.

I didnt realize every location has its own personal deals and coupons that are not transferable. However since I was clearly confused and didnt know this at the time making an appointment. They did end up working out a discount we all agreed upon since I was already there. Expect to be there an hour even with an appointment. Overall nice employees and I like the location. Plainfield has certainly expanded over the years.

I made an appointment, they serviced my vehicle on time, and finished it quickly. They were super helpful and reasonable on the price. I saw a lot of the negative reviews about this place, but figured I would give it a shot anyway. Good place, nice people, fast service. I would recommend this Midas over other locations I’ve been to.

Stay clear from the credit card, the interest rate is absolutely ridiculous. They also did not honor their promotion for the credit when spending over a certain amount. WILL NEVER GO BACK FOR THEIR SERVICES!!!

Came in for an exhaust and brake inspection. Being a father of 4 I am low on money but I wanted to get an idea of what was wrong. They took me out to the lobby and showed me each thing they recommended. I had 2 other shops look at it after. Their prices were outrageous and they missed a few things Midas saw. Definitely coming here more in the future.

Recently had one of our autos at tire shop that also performs repair work (a place I see getting some bad reviews) and told me the vehicle needs new brake pads, rotors and calipers.For ove $800.00We new we had some brake work done in the past at Midas.Took it to them and pads were lifetime under warranty. It did need new rotors but not calipers.Everything came to about $300.00Big difference.Thanks Midas fir being Honest.

Everywhere I checked wanted around $120 for an oil change. They cut it in half and told me I was being severally overcharged. Same parts same oil, and when they thought they overpriced me, they lowered their own price! U have my business from here on out, thank you for your honesty. Plus free tire rotation with oil change.

My vehicle is experiencing poor AC so I took it up there and they said they would put new Freon into it. They did this but my car still has weak AC. I asked the guy if it could be anything other than the Freon and he said no. I then googled it and found a bunch of other things it could be, so not sure how experienced they are as mechanics.They were very nice and fast, but Im going to seek out a mechanic more knowledgeable next time.

Took my truck in a year ago after a ball joint that another shop replaced had broken down again. Had the whole front end redone! So I thought and paid for! Kept going in for the last year because of squeaking in my brakes. They kept telling me nothing was wrong. Today I took it in to get my exhaust fixed and shocks put on the back of the truck. They had my truck from 8:30 in the morning until 5:30 in the evening. Get a phone call that the work I got charged for a year ago was half done and the breaks were put on wrong and that is why my breaks were squeaking. $1450 later they work is done and I still don’t have new shocks and new exhaust on my truck! Was talked into doing the financial services they provide! Was told it was zero percent interest. I got an email from the finance company after I left it’s not 0% it’s 188% interest! Do not go here they are a scam and they will rip you off!

Recently took in my car to replace my brake pads that had started to squeak a couple days earlier. The mechanic found out my brake rotors were also worn down and rusty and needed to also be replaced. I have never taken the time to write a review before but this business is an exception. Nick, the manager, and his team took great care with the service provided and I was back on the road in about an hour! I would highly recommend them for any car issue.

Only went here cus it was cheapest place fir my oil change. However gave me a list of things wring with my car. And broke my antifreeze cap which made my car start overheating. Took my car to Tires Plus where i trust and of course most of what was on the fix list was wrong. And RTP fixed my cap at a way lower price than suggested.

They are my favorite of the local car shops. I bought my own rotors and breaks for my car and they installed them for me. I was quoted an hour per axel at other shops, they had it done in under in hour.

I had a fantastic experience at this Midas location. My wife’s car had been having issues in the suspension of her 2006 Volvo S60 for quite some time and we finally bit the bullet and took it in. From the moment I called over the phone, to the moment I walked in, I was greeted with fantastic customer service by Tank. He even went out of his way during the process to send me a video of one of the issues wee were having in the suspension. He was able to get me a good deal for the entire replacement and I can now say that over a week and a half out from the repair everything has been so smooth and silent. I highly recommend Midas of Plainfield!

My son went to get his oil changed and was told his battery needed replaced. He’s young and still kind of new to car maintenance so he said ok. Turns out this battery they put in was $225! $225 for a battery in an ‘06 Malibu! What a scam. What is your mark up on the parts there?!Way to take advantage of a young kid and anyone else who doesn’t know any better.Will not be going back.

I had gone to Midas on Pendleton Pike in Lawrence to have my brake shoes and drums replaced! A week later I noticed a sound coming from my brakes like a rubbing noise! I was in Plainfield and stopped in this location to see what was going on since my drums and brakes had just been replaced! They took me right in and when they put my car up on the lift my drums were over 300 degrees and warped! The east side location had over adjusted them which caused my drums to go bad! This location used my warranty and had it fixed in 30 minutes! Very friendly staff! I will recommend!

Way over priced on the parts here as I knew the needed part was three times less then they wanted to charge! Was willing to pay for them to do the service but the amount they quoted was ridiculous! Was incredibly insulted as to how little they assumed I knew and will make sure to charge those who don’t know better three times more than if they were to do the job on their own!

I went to Midas and met the store manager, Kenny. He was very welcoming on my initial visit and very informative when I told him I was shopping around to find my go-to auto store. He gave his prices and even the prices of the stores around him and after I visited those other stores, I was shown that Kenny was honest when speaking of his competition and was also the lowest priced out of everyone around. I knew I needed tires and he did everything he could to shop around and find me the best priced tires in the vicinity and tacked on the black Friday discounts. I will continue to take my vehicles to this Midas for maintenance and repair. Theyve more than earned my business.

The employees truly care about your vehicle, very professional atmosphere, clean waiting area. Exceptional and trustworthy technicians. Ill always go here. Gotta trust your shop, this ones earned it.

Very disappointed with the customer service with this location. I was trying to get an estimate for a specific brake service via their website and had to email them twice just to get a response. Then, after I selected the choice for communication as email, they called me two days later anyway.When I did receive the call, they would not give me any type of reasonable estimate over the phone. They just kept pushing for an appointment and wanted to know if I had a coupon or not- I assume so they could overcharge the value of the coupon. I was asking for the estimate for brakes and rotors on a Ford F150- a very common job on a very common vehicle.Almost needless to say, I sought out another repair shop that would actually give me an estimate for the job.

For YEARS, this Midas has been a dumpster fire. Consistently a super long wait for something simple like an oil change. So Ive made appointments, thinking that would cut the wait down. Show up, and they dont have a record of the appointment. Or once, I had an appointment that someone did make a note of, and it still took more than an hour. Today, I went in in the afternoon, was quoted 2.5-3 hours for an oil change, and I literally had to remind the guy that they close after that time threshold, at which point, his only reply was, Oh yeah. Maybe we wont even get to it today.

I had work done 3 weeks ago on my muffler and some bracing bars. Car started rattling so I took it back. One of the brace bars had broken, probably from a pothole. Immediately Kenny said it was under warranty and it was fixed. They found some other problems but Kenny let me know that it was something I could fix or keep an eye on. There was no pressure to do that work. Both visits were professional and staff was courteous. The waiting room is CLEAN! Not something you get in every auto shop. I found this to be an ethical shop with very nice people!

I have never posted a negative review on any business but this needs to be heard. This place is full of crooks. On November 19 I got my oil changed at Midas, and driving down the interstate my hood flew completely off at 70 mph. I called the manager and they told me they were at fault and they would come into contact with the owner and insurance and fix it for me. I have multiple recordings of phone conversations with them saying they would handle it for me. I took it to numerous collision centers they wanted to me to goto for quotes, but didn’t like the price for them out of pocket. Three weeks later they finally decide to turn it into insurance, lie to the adjuster and win the case. You fired the guy for not latching my hood and then tell insurance you weren’t at fault! So congrats Midas for royally screwing your customers. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent service! We were having trouble starting our car and went to a few places that were not helpful. Tried Midas and they went through several tests to find out that it was a bad battery. Also warned us about a potential alternator problem in the future but did not try to push us into replacing when it wasnt really necessary today. Kenny did a great job taking care of us. He is the reason that were getting an oil change there this week and will continue taking our cars there in the future!

I took in my truck to get serviced on alignment, and when I took the truck home I was pulling me to the left so I decided to call the shop again they told me to bring it in a week later when I took the truck in there supposedly technician guy said that somebody else had already worked on the truck and thats for warranty wouldn’t cover it. This is how dirty my Midas is in Plainfield Indiana, and the store manager got really disrespectful with me his name is Kenny ClarkAnd let’s not talk about the technician he looks like a straight up crackhead.

I went in to get my tires balanced they told me I had a bent rim and if I wanted it to ride better i need to get that repaired. When i looked at the tire that had odd wear on it i asked if it could be the tire itself ? He said well yes it could be. I said just balance it and when I get new tires we will see what happens. Then I asked how much to change spark plugs. I was quoted $850 my mouth almost fell to the floor. I paid for a tire balance and left. Went to 3 other shops and was quoted $300 to change spark plugs. Little did this place know I was a mechanic for 20 years..... THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE. The only reason I gave 2 stars is the tire balance helped a lot...... I also had a broken exhaust manifold bolt I asked how much for them to fix that. I was told 10 hours of labor plus parts. Thats well over 1200 dollars. I did the repair on my own in 4 hours.. the problem is even if it took them 4 hours I dont believe I would have gotten out of there for less than 10 hours labor cost. This plavlce is a RIP off

Spent 2200.00 on repairs that were not needed. My car was missing to the point of jerking when stepping on the gas. They charge 99.00 dollars to put on a diagnostic test, then tell me all thats wrong with my car. They said the manifold, oxygen sensor, spark plug and ignition coil was all bad. I take it somewhere else and they said that Midas was checking the wrong sensor and the sensor on the other side was bad. They put to new sensors on the other side and the car is running great. It was around Christmas so maybe somebody needed a BONUS. I always took my cars to Midas in Plainfield for repairs but never again.

I have been going to the Plfd. Midas for the past several years. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work and their reasonable prices. Also, they explain to you if a repair needs to be done; dont pressure you and they are courteous. They are winners.

I took my vehicle there for an oil change and they called to tell me that I needed to replace my serpentine belt in a hurry because it was going to snap at any minute and they would be glad to do it. I took my vehicle home and replaced it myself. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old one. I took my other vehicle in 2 weeks later for an oil change and was told again that my serpentine belt was in danger of snapping and that it needs to be replaced today! I inspected it myself and there was nothing wrong with it and it only has 60k miles on the vehicle...... It has been 6 months and it is still doing fine..... I understand that making money is part of any business, but you will thrive over time by being honest due to repeat customers, not if you lose them by being dishonest.

Over charged. instead of turning the rotors that were still good, they charged me for new ones. they also used a sawsall to cut of the dust shields, then told me that I needed new ones. when I was leaving, I heard metal on metal rubbing and the mechanic got on the ground with a pry bar. they are NOT professionals. they will do anything to increase your charges to rip you off. they got me for over $1300. go somewhere else. NEVER TRUST MIDAS

Kind of felt like they were trying to charge me for things I dont need. And were trying to convince me that there would be a noise while I was driving, but I just couldnt hear it because of the radio. Theres no noise.

I am a female and i went through automotive training.I feel as though since i am a female the manager treated me as though i knew nothing about vehicle maintenance. He was very rude and did not even offer to give me a hard copy of the inspection that they supposedly performed while performing my oil change. He acted dumbfounded when i asked him for one. Isnt it common practice to fill out the form while changing the oil?About two weeks later my car broke down. The engine was seized due to it not having any oil. How is this possible unless they didnt put any oil back in? (I did not have any oil leaks)

Horrible. Too bad I cannot give a 0 star. My vehicle took longer to stop after hitting the brake pedals. Took there for service received a quote for almost $700 which included front rotors, pads for the disk brake. The technician also told me the rear drum brake had to be replaced too.Took vehicle to Pep Boys and my front only brakes were the problem. In less than $250 my brakes were fixed.

Took my vehicle in for an inspection and alignment. Told the technician my problem. He test drove it with me. He heard the noises. I told him I thought there was two problems. One was with my brakes. The other one was in my front end because when I turned right there was a noise. He found my Idler Arm was not good. At that moment he apparently stopped and didnt bother to check my brakes. He fixed the Idler Arm and aligned my car. Days later I was still having brake issues. Took my vehicle to a different shop and the technician found a caliper pin that was stuck. I wont take my car to a place that has technicians who dont do their job completely...as in when a customer tells you they have a brake issue then take the brakes apart and inspect them!!!

I took my car for an inspection before going out of town decided to get a rental and came back to drive my car and it started shaking on the highway which it did not do prior to leaving. I noticed a lug nut was missing and did not feel safe with my son in the car. As soon as I called the man was dry and seemed careless saying bring it in and we will look at it. I bring it in and he says we have no record of ever seeing this car I tell him they printed off everything so finally he says ok we found it but the owner talked to the technician and he says he didnt take off the tire. Which I do not believe because during the inspection they told me they opened my alternator and its a peice inside that when it goes in reverse it makes noise so why would you open a alternator and not take off a tire for the inspection of a boot and stabelizer bar.he was very nonchalant and says you can pay for an inspection and we will see whats going on. I can not believe the lack of customer service and it showed from the phone call then the jumping to the defense of them doing anything by saying he didnt have record of me ever coming then they didnt take the tire off. They do not truely care about the safety of thier customers because I was not accusing them of breaking anything or anything just asking that they would reassure me that my wheels are not going to fall off and the lug nuts are on correctly. So I will take my business to a company that truely cares about customers and will not try not to take responsibility if there was a MISTAKE and just lying or whatever to get money!

My wife took her vehicle to Miidas in Plainfield and was quoted over $500.00 for brake pads, rotors and labor for 1 axle. We had the work completed by another shop for under $150.00. Their quote was over TRIPLE what we paid. TRIPLE! Shame on these people!

Took my truck in there to get a new exhaust put on.They cut out part of my alternater bracket.just did a poor job on the whole thing got stainless steel tips took so they wouldn’t rust well 5 months later there rusted.almost $1000.00 spent and got a shity job..
