This is my first time and I LOVE IT. They lady at the front was professional and sweet. The whole vibe was absolutely sick. I ordered a small iced, (bare with me) blackberry, vanilla, ... Okay so it was AMAZING. Im so picky with coffee and Im sad I cant remember the name of it even though I just left. But I believe it has unicorn in the name I highly suggest trying that out. Also they have phenomenal art made by employees out so I had to cop some too.Thank you guys sm!!! Awesome place.

I lived in Pittsburgh for six and a half years, but finally went here now that I moved to another country and was just visiting. I wish this had been located downtown because it was the coolest, best coffee shop I have been to here.The drinks are so creative with the ingredients and names. Love the exact $6.66 prices too! My bestie and I both tried seasonal drinks that were so good: Beezleberry and Phoenix Rising.The dopest part though is that I moved to Uruguay, a country known for their love for mate, and Black Forge sells these different canned drinks with Yerba Mate. I had to try one! Legit had never seen mate in Pittsburgh before.The barista was also super nice, the music was great, and seating and decor were done well.Make your way to Allentown to give it a try!

The best coffee we tried in all of Pittsburgh, and maybe on the east coast. We are from DC area and we dont have any cool coffee shops like this. I got a pumpkin pie latte and my boyfriend got one of the specials (holy smoked - dark chocolate and cayenne) and they were excellent. The spooky decor and music added to the vibe. Multiple vegan milk options too. Tables outside were painted with awesome artwork.

My only complaint is that the oat milk they used wasnt cold so my iced latte has no ice after about 7 minutes. But it was made right and tasted fine. Id go back if I was ever in the area. Just consider asking for extra ice if you use a milk alternative.

This place was amazing. Great vibes and GREAT coffee drinks. I like to get fancy and their concoctions did not disappoint. I dont even live in Pittsburgh and I will be back.

Metal at 7am is almost more of a wake up than coffee. KILLER drinks! Courtney and Mallory have the greatest playlist- heavy metal and caffeinated is the only way to start a work day!

This is the coziest and most artsy coffee shop Ive been to! They have an extensive menu of specialty drinks - theres something for everyone, and they sell bags of quality coffee beans and merch. Every inch of the place is covered in amazing artwork by local artists. I would have loved to come during one of their events or shows. Although Im not local Ill come back whenever in Pittsburgh again.

Be sure to try one of their cayenne coffee specialities -- they are uplifting.The Black Forge is located right next to the police station, making it easy to find. I have always managed to find parking near by.

I had been meaning to stop in and check this place out for a while and Im glad I did! From the cool alternative atmosphere to the fresh baked goods and tasty coffee cobos, it was a very nice experience.

Really cool place. Really cool design! This was my first time in the area and stopped at the closest coffee shop and it happened to be this one. Its really different and the art work on the walls is cool and the tables themselves are art. I had the cooling mint iced tea and a zucchini chocolate chip muffin and it was So good!!

Great neighborhood coffeeshop with wonderful, unique coffee drinks (the Hellhound is one of my favorites, served hot or cold) lovely pastries and great art on the walls. If youre not a coffee drinker, they have several tea blends and tisanes worth trying. The parking lot is a block away but worth every step. A definite must visit.

I loved it as soon as I walked in. Theres so much to look at. Art for sale hung all over, and the atmosphere is awesome. It was tough to decide what to choose and wanted to try everything. I went with the Weedeater, an iced white chocolate mint coffee. It was perfectly rich and delicious.I will definitely be back. A family member routinely purchases their bags of coffee and has shared some beans with me. Their roasts are supreme. I plan on buying my coffee from them in the future. Forget grocery store coffee!

Very lovely coffee shop. Its not your average coffee shop. Not the boring same old stuff. Its amazing and peaceful inside, great drinks great prices and its just amazing. Would give more stars but its the best shop around for miles. If only other coffee shops had more original tastes

AMAZING! First time experience of cooking my filet and sea scallops at the table. Heaven! Salads and dipping sauces were also. delicious.The next time I visit my daughter in Pittsburgh, this will be the FIRST place we head to! Loved the decor, location and service as well.

We live 5 hours away and are here visiting family. My wife was more excited to come back and get coffee at Black Forge, then she was about the time off from work that she has while were in Pittsburgh.The unique specialty drinks have all been great, but the regular coffee isnt lacking either.

Great coffee house with a unique, heavy metal-inspired vibe. The coffee was excellent as well. If I had to offer a critique, I would say that they could perhaps offer more in the way of snacks and pastries, but thats not a particularly big deal. The woman who frequently is at the counter (with the blue hair) is extremely friendly as well. Would recommend!

Black Forge is one of my favorite coffee shops. The specialty drinks are incredible--Im a huge fan of the Thunder Horse myself. Plenty of seating and outlet space, and the atmosphere is incredible. All of the staff is very kind and friendly. If you like metal, punk, or any adjacent music genres, this is the place for you. The tea is also quite excellent--the London fog latte is really good. Bathrooms are single-use and in good conditon--the chalk walls are a nice touch! I frequent a lot of coffee establishments and as friendly as they tend to be, I can face routine harassment from patrons because Im transgender. The staff and patrons here are both wonderful, and I have had no negative experiences. 10/10!

This place has the best coffee ever! I’m dying for them to open an outpost in New York City (If I knew how to drive I would drive the eight hours to go buy more of their coffee!) Absolutely love the metal decor -even the table tops have beautiful paintings! Nice big windows too. Such a fun chill place to have a cup of coffee! If I’m ever in town again I hope to catch a show there, they get some really good bands!

Black Forge coffee!! Its delicious coffee and if you like heavy metal youll love this place. The decor makes you smile or maybe youll be curious about it. Either way its something to see. The staff is always friendly and they put a lot of love and hard work into giving the best coffee and service to their customers, you can tell. Parking is on the street, but that never stops me from getting a cup.

This place is way better than that national chain. Ive been on a coffee journey lately discovering different coffees as with adulthood increasing I need coffee to function. This metal coffee shop could be walked past if you didnt know any better but please know better! I got a salted caramel mocha latte and I tasted it and almost cried. Bonus points is the fact that they have almond milk. I can always appreciate that. Also the metal music doesnt bother me. They also have punch cards and snacks, and wifi. What else do you need? I would totally hang out here every day if it was in my neighborhood. All coffee isnt made equal. The customer service is awesome but there arent a lot of outlets so please show up with laptops charged. They host events so you dont really need your laptop. Love the decor. Will absolutely be back.

I ended up buying a latte and two half pound bags of ground coffee, all of which have been fantastic. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was very black metal but also very clean and pro small business. The whole experience was great and I will definitely be going back.

Wonderful coffee shop which offers delicious food. The quirky art is a bonus. The punch Trumps head coffee loyalty card is a forever keepsake. Check their schedule for live entertainment. I attend a community open mic with an excellent house band . But, the performers who show up are always really great. Makes you wonder if this community is where all the artists live.

When you walk through the door, don’t let the heavy metal music & demonic decor scare you away. Their lattes are absolutely delicious, & the people serving them have always been welcoming. I will suggest getting the oatmeal cream pie when you visit. Amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this spot. I look forward to going back every time.

Stopped in for a quick coffee one day. This place is great! Very unique and dark but comforting feel to it. Lots of really unique music and art in this place. I got whatever the barista recommended and I was very pleased. If youre in the neighborhood check it out. Definitely a memorable place!

Great lattes! I tried two the Krampus and Thunderhorse. Most of the time when I get lattes I feel like I would add a little this or little that. My drinks were perfect ! Rocker themed shop so it has a cool edge but still toned down in volume like a traditional coffee shop. Must try!

A fantastic enlightening small business and coffee house, my favorite coffee house. Owned and staffed by phenomenal people. Fabulous beverages that will definitely have you taking a break from Starbucks, delicious locally made baked goods and snacks as well! Many fun live entertainment shows, from bands, to comedians, to radio shows and discussion groups. Decor is provided by local artists showing and selling their truly exceptional pieces. Its a place you definitely want to try and will then frequent!

I love their roasts and the decor and music. Im not a huge metal fan but for some reason they s place makes it sort of appealing. Theme aside, the roasts are definitely always worth stopping in when Im in the neighborhood.

My all time favorite coffee place. Its more than coffee, its a place to enjoy the atmosphere and delicious treats too. This place is really unique and going there makes me so happy.

First off, If you can finish a shot in the head (cold brew with an espresso shot) you will grow hair on your chest. The theme of this coffee shop is impeccable. When you walk in, its hard now to hear slow Heavy Metal Music playing in your head. The staffs appearance might scare your average suburban house wife, but they were extremely polite and professional. The coffee shop also has its own video game available for play in the cafe. This is the kind of innovative entrepreneurship that raises community value, and if you give it a chance, might bridge some social boundaries.

I come here just about every Sunday, Ive always had an amazing experience, the staff is always friendly, and both of the owners are always awesome and helpful. The music is and atmosphere are great, metal and coffee go so well together. The coffee is always delicious, and the pastries and such are great too. Basically, I love this joint, and you should too.

I never knew I wanted a metal coffee shop in my life, but now I want all my coffee made with the love of the metal God. What Im saying its a great spot and great coffee.

Has an interesting heavy metal atmosphere. Even though the coffee shop plays metal throughout the entire genre including screamer and death growl types, the music is kept to a respectable volume.Found out they roast their own beans. Espresso is good right on the bitter/not bitter level and the coffee is dark roast.Although I didnt try any, there is a nice selection of what looks like fresh baked cookies and baked goods, as well as a large seasonal menu of mixed coffee drinks and teas.Do not go to the shop if you dont like metal or at least cant stand it, while waiting for your coffee. Also note the ambiance is mainly dark and black, befitting the theme, so dont expect anything bright and open.There is a small outdoor eating area but nothing that impressive due to limited side walk space, and there will likely be cop cars parked near or in front of because the shop is next door to the police station. Parking, in general, can be tricky in Allentown, where they are located.

The cold vanilla latte is better than Starbucks I swear the vanilla caramel hit latte is so delicious!!!!!!!!! 💞☕🏚️ 😋 Try it out its got the best baked goods ever!!! They are awesome!!! Live entertainment as well its really cool there!! Im definitely going back been there 3 times!!!

New coffee shop in South Side Pittsburgh! We has so much fun here. Metal themed with plenty of vegan options. I loved all of the little touches everywhere, such as the Coffee Crisis video game. Looking forward to seeing more locations!

The shop is small and intimate but it never feels to crowded. I love the open windows at the front end and typically choose to sit up on the stage for the natural light but the booths are great too. Every drink Ive had so far was perfect just how it was made and Ive not yet needed to add anything to them. Black Forge is cozy and calm but the coffee is more than enough to get me through the day.

They may have the best coffee in the city, its absolutely fantastic. I love the baked goods they sell there, too. Parking can be a bit out of the way, but definitely worth stopping in if youre in the area. They also have a full calendar of events that are a ton of fun.
