Went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the guitar set up. Super helpful.
I was given a cheap guitar. The action on it needed work. They treated the guitar with respect and fixed it with charging me and arm and a leg.
I’ve never been here but that picture of Adam Sandler made me leave a review.edit: Ive been here and now its my go to shop! still 5 stars!
Stopped by for some guitar accessories and found everything I needed plus helpful service.
Great customer service and the prices are very affordable. I broke my lower B string and came to get it fixed. Got done all in the same day.
It is DiPinto Guitars. Five Stars.
We were so completely devistated when the bridge (and a large chunk of the face) snapped right my wifes 1978 Ibanez classical guitar, it was as if we lost a member of the family. Our hopes were fading when a local luthier said it was unrepairable and the newer model didnt have the same sound; fortunately a friend recommended Dipinto Guitars who resurrected it and made it sound better than ot ever has!
My brother bought a guitar here today and we had such a great experience. Very COVID conscious, and just as importantly, really lovely staff and guitars. He’s so excited about his purchase. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends.
Awesome Shop, Awesome Service, and Awesome Guitars. My go to spot for guitar repairs, set ups, or when I need to call someone to ask a question when I am in over my head with a DIY repair. Chris and the rest of the staff are super helpful and skilled and always ready to help however they can.
I went in for a jazzmaster electronics repair and Chris did it within an hour. He is very knowledgeable about guitars and they make small batches of ES-style guitars that we talked about. He clearly cares about the customer and I appreciated the experience as while I sat and waited I was encouraged to play the other guitars. Would give 6 stars.
Great selection. Great service. Ive been a customer for over twenty years and have never been disappointed.
I should start by saying that I didnt make a major purchase there yet. However, the guy who runs the show is great.Honest, cool, knowledgeable.
Great, cool guitars and very friendly helpful service. I had bought a used Galaxie 4 online and the tremolo arm kept getting loose. Chris graciously told me exactly how to make the repair myself and answered followup questions. A class act.
Highly recommend DiPinto for repairs, setups and customization. Ive relied on Chris and the rest of the staff at DiPinto over the past few years and have never been disappointed. Most recently, Chris recommended some modifications to a single coil guitar in order to reduce the level of hum/noise. I was 100% satisfied with the turnaround time, end result and was really impressed that the mod didnt alter the character/tone of my guitar. Will be going back in the near future.
Chris DiPinto is incredibly helpful, especially for newbies. If you have a friend who is into guitars this is the place to go. Go grab a gift certificate for someone who is passionate about guitars! They have everything you need. And if you are lucky enough to go see his band, you will enjoy it 100%.
Great store. Great selection. Great people. The best of the best. Lots of vintage guitars and amps.
Update: Had Chris do some work on my strat. I had a finicky neck pickup that has been giving me trouble for about a year. Took it to another luthier twice and he was never able to fix it. Took it to Chris and he immediately knew that the fix wasnt possible, but had the brilliant idea of flipping the bridge pickup with the neck since I do not play my bridge pickup. He saved me a ton of money on replacing the entire pickup instead. Also, weirdly enough, the pickup works now at the bridge. A true mystery lol. The job was affordable, and timley. My strat not only sounds great, but he set it up perfect. I highly recommend this shop to anyone. Cant wait to go back! Ive been eyeballing a couple of his guitar models, they look freaking sweet.Purchased an extension cabinet that they repurposed from an old combo amp earlier today. These guys are awesome. They gave me a killer price and were super helpful. I will most certainly be going back to have to work done on my guitar. If I could afford it right now, I would be purchasing one of their guitar models, they look great and they are local to Philly. Highly recommended!
Great place. Great customer service
I went in DiPintos last week to get a guitar and I left out with much more. They really went above and beyond to make sure I got what I wanted and that I was pleased. They are truly the best in the business and they make their own guitars for a reasonable price. Guitar Center who ??? Never heard of them .. shout out to Chris and Brian 🤘🏼👹🤘🏼
Chris helped restore and clean my vintage Fender Mustang Bass! It looks amazing, there was a lot of age build up and he was able to bring it back to life. It really came out great! Would highly suggest for any types of repairs or cleaning. Great work!
Love this place. I’ve bought a guitar here and had another guitar repaired. Chris brought an old Silvertone back to life- he used cleaver ways to fix the neck and intonation for a good price- I don’t think most places would have thought of those solutions, but he understands guitars because he builds them. 👍
My classical guitar, nearly 50 years old, had a cracked tuning peg cylinder and the nuts grooves were worn down, giving it a tinny sound on some strings. Chris repaired both expertly and restrung the guitar for a very fair and reasonable price. The store was also stocked with a variety of guitars and other instruments and accessories. I would recommend Chris and Dipinto Guitars highly.
Good Mom and Pop Music store. The owner designs his own line of Electric Guitars. And lessons are available.
Nice shop to pick up picks, strings, effects pedals and things and of course the crazy cool guitars they design and make. They fixed up my cousins guitar and are always pleasant when I come brows around.
Good and nice people
The setup they did on my electric is absolutely fantastic. The intonation is about as perfect as it can be given its a ~$400 guitar. its incredible how resonant it sounds now even unplugged. The guys here were friendly and helpful, and one of them has an adorable dog that hangs around sometimes. Standard prices for the area and in general. For as long as I live in philly, this is where Ill be taking my guitars
Highly recommended! Ive been a customer of Chris DiPinto and his knowledgeable crew since he first opened his shop many years ago and have never had a bad experience. Service and personal attention are why I keep going there - Ive bought more cool and unusual guitars & amps from DiPintos than I can remember, and I always take my gear to Chris whenever it needs some tender loving care. Always worth the trip!
One time they accidentally put the slightest ding in the finish of a squire that had stopped working. They called me immediately apologizing, and did a full set up on the guitar including all new tuning knobs with wiring. I really appreciated it. We all make mistakes, but so few businesses acknowledged theirs, let a lone make up for them these days. DiPinto’s is a special place, very happy to have it here in Philly.
Used DiPinto for the first time yesterday for a setup of a new guitar. Not only did they do a great job on the guitar, but their customer service was fantastic. They were able to expedite the service so i could get my hands on my new guitar for the holiday weekend. Glad i found the spot for anything guitar related in Philadelphia.
Ive bought several small things from DiPinto over the years (pedals, picks, samplers, etc.) and love browsing their selection, but recently bought my first guitar from them - a used Telecaster. The price was great, it felt and sounded great, and even came with a case and stellar setup. A few days after I bought it the bridge pickup stopped making sound, so I brought it back to get checked out. They looked at it and determined that it wasnt a wiring issue but an actual issue with the inside of the pickup. Luckily there was another Tele bridge pickup lying around that was the same year/model as mine and they threw the new one in there at no cost (and honestly the new one sounds even better than the original). Great gear, great service - highly recommend.
My childs guitar needed a fix and the owner at DiPinto connected the amp socket back just like new in a matter of seconds. Thank you for your kindness!
Chris was there to help us in a pinch with a rewiring project. Hes extremely knowledgeable and has a great shop filled with vintage guitars, basses, and synths, as well as his own custom line. Wonderful guy too!
In the world of Guitar Center and Sam Ash or Sweetwater and Reverb, Dipinto Guitars is a special place in the universe. First off, the workmanship for service is top notch. Youd be crazy to drop your instrument off at one of those chain brands. Dipinto builds their own guitar series (those are awesome too) but because of that, you know you can trust the workmanship on deeper items like fret level/dress or Bigsby installs. The took my not-in-great-shape Gretsch I purchased second hand and turned it into a guitar I dont want to put down. Even if youre just browsing, its worth a visit. So many crazy cool amps, pedals, and instruments. Worth a visit!
Classic spot for used gear, custom built guitars, and any last minute gig needs. Friendly staff- they recent did a full set up and replacement on my short scale bass. Great job, super happy with the service.
Ive been buying vintage and used guitars from Chris for over 20 years. He always gets the coolest gear...Dominick Carfello
Love this store, their are finds in here you wont find any were else great groupe of guys and techs hands down.
Great collection of new and used vintage guitars, amps, and accessories.Expert coustomer service, and solid guitar setupsIf your making a trip through Philly on tour, its well worth your time,as the vintage inventory is constantly changing.Highly recommended.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The owner (Chris) is a legendary guitar maker. Best spot in Philly.
Huge shout-out to Chris and Brian for being patient and extremely helpful. I ordered an American elite Tele from Sweetwater which came with some heavy buzzing. Took it to Dipinto based on word of mouth reviews and got it set up. Realized a few days later it still was a bit off, gave them a call, and they were more than happy to have me come back (for free) and make additional adjustments. Chris even had me plug it in and play and made adjustments accordingly. I felt like a truly valued customer and was blown away by their customer service, knowledge, and commitment to getting it right for me.Happy to say the Tele is playing way way better now. They got a customer for life!
Nice place; friendly staff - very helpful.
Chris is the only person I trust with my guitars, hes NEVER let me down! also a great place to visit or just drop in to see whats new...
Only got strings but the employee was very nice and good prices. They also sell single strings which is cool.
The guys at this store are very knowledgable. Very friendly, patient and helpful. Great prices and products. I highly recommend them!
Best music shop in the heart of fishtown. Very professional customer service. Will definitely be returning for all further purchasing.
I took my Stratocaster to DiPintoIt needed an input jack and a bridge pickup.I picked up my guitar today andDiPinto did an AWESOME jobit sounds better then new
Cool selection of vintage gear, knowledgeable and friendly staff, interesting clientele, located in a happening part of the city. Great place to visit and spend some dough.
On June 14, 17, I brought in an SG in need of a proper set-up: truss rod, bridge, nut adjustments. I received a phone call two days later. When I saw it, it looked beautiful. When I picked it up, it felt and sounded amazing. I was charged a reasonable price and given a very fast turn around by friendly, knowledgeable people. I will be recommending DiPinto.
Guys did an outstanding job fixing a broken headstock on my les paul. Went in for a standard setup, got a call the next day that they noticed a crack in the headstock. They fixed it to perfection, you can barely see the crack. Guitar hasnt played this well in years. Thank you!
My DiPinto Guitar experience was without flaw, from the warm and welcoming customer service, incredibly cool gear (They have a Mellotron from ‘76!), and the wealth of knowledge Chris and his staff provide. The shop’s aesthetic and prices are just the icing on the cake. The shop is definitely my favorite in the Philly/NJ area. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with unpleasant guitar techs and music-chain-level prices and go here.
Took a guitar with a bad sounding GFS pickup . Chris noticed the pickup coils were wired wrong . Rewired it and it sounds great .Very knowledgeable and honest. Could have sold me on a new pickup .
Very helpful and friendly atmosphere. Good prices
Greatest shop in Philadelphia.
Nice guys. Great selection of instruments and gear 👌
From lessons to online to in house sales this place has it all! Highly recommend!
Suport local businesses. Great little shop.
DiPinto Squad gets 5 stars from start to finish. If you love guitars and guitar stuff, go check em out! You can totally suck at the guitar and go in there and ask to play a nice, $2000 vintage les paul and nobodyll laugh at your sucky riffs . All are welcome. Fancy expensive guitars aint all they do. You can totally get all knds of deals on guitars, basses, pedals, accessories, all of it!Go and see
Chris and his staff are the absolute best. I am a novice ukulele player, and I always take my ukes to them. They can seriously transform even a cheap-ish uke to a fun, nice-sounding, playable one with their awesome setup. They are knowledgeable, kind, and reasonable. Seriously cant say enough great things about them.
