Brought my car in to B&D for a state inspection & emissions test after an in-law recommended this shop. Mike (the owner) is a good guy, and a Fishtown local who isnt afraid to speak his mind and tell it how it is. He finished the task quickly and from what I could see keeps excellent records. The garage is organized and well taken care of. Like others have commented, he’s an honest mechanic and won’t suggest any unnecessary work to your car. I had a question that I had forgotten to ask when I was there and called him later that evening. Mike wasn’t annoyed at all with my question and took the time to fully answer, explaining to me some of the particular rules here in PA compared with other states. Definitely support this local gem of a business. Highly recommended.

Needed an emergency throttle plate cleaning to fix an idle problem with my 15 year old 4Runner. Mike squeezed me in, was prompt, no BS, totally reasonable price, and truck runs better than it has in quite some time. Would definitely recommend, great to have someone good local in Fishtown.

I took my car to B&D after it did not pass inspection for two seemingly small things. Mike told me he could do it in a day or two. In the end the car spent 12 weeks there while Mike blamed my car, blamed his brother, and complained that he never had time to do it. He didnt call me a single time during this, I had to call him a ton of times to get a single answered call. My car was a headache and he only works on headaches on Fridays is what he started saying to me after about 2 or 3 weeks. 6 weeks in I go to his shop to talk face to face after he stopped answering my calls. He isnt sure if he ordered the part he said I needed, isnt sure if it showed up or not, and has no clue when hes going to have time to finish my car. I say I can take it somewhere else, he says nowhere else can do this work, only him, I just have to give him time. Another 6 weeks go by and still nothing. I picked it up and took it to Spiro at Dennis auto down the block. They had my car done, inspected, and ready to be picked up the next day. They called me with a quote, called me to okay an additional service, and called to let me know it was done. I didnt get any of those things from Mike. I spent 360$ on insuring my car while it sat at B&D during which they didnt do any of the work I had brought it to them for. Take your car to someone who respects your time and wants your business. I feel stupid for how long I trusted him.

Does real good work and is honest. Don’t believe the false reviews. Most look like they’re reviewing a completely different B &D that has nothing to do with this one that is in Fishtown

I would never recommend B&D auto service center. Two DAYS after I purchased my car there were issues. 2 weeks after that there were even more issues with the car. I was told on a Friday to come in on a Monday to their service shop, I took the day off to make it up there all for them to tell me the shop was booked for the day. I had to call them like a mad man just to hear back from them, they relayed messages to my mother that for some reason they werent able to relay to me when I called asking when the car can be serviced. Days later after I was supposed to be called back they tell me theres nothing they can do. The car you purchase from this place will need work sooner than later and they will be of little to no help. Every single person who gave them 5 stars was asked to do so and was compensated them with a gift card as was I when I made my purchase. Please do not believe the 5 stars this is a BAD BUSINESS.

Very nice guys that work there, and they offered fast and professional service. The quickest job of PA emissions testing - about 20 minutes and I was done! I definitely recommend them and will be back for future for any future auto needs.

Pretty funny when you ask about a car or SUV and you go thru the lot and see a certain car you were looking for and it is right in front of you and they call you back you talk with them and ask about it they say the car IS NOT there and then say it was already sold ... But yet the store is obviously closed and your standing right in front of the car....😮😲 Even Funnier when you call back the next day just to confirm when people are actually there and all of a sudden the car IS still there and isnt sold !!!!

I dont know what kind of work B & D does, but I can tell you that MIke (who owns the shop) is a solid dude! My car broke down one Sunday afternoon in traffic. Mike pulled over, helped me push my car to the side of the road, then gave me a ride to get gas. And his wife and kids were in his truck. So, if you do business with good people, Mike meets that requirement!

Mike is a great mechanic and always knows the problem and fixes it right the first time. I drive a Lincoln town car which always runs perfectly because of his detailed personality.

I really like this place, the owner is always the one that works on the car, very knowledgeable and honest, he checks the car out, even for an oil change.
