I have been going here for a few years, usually when my car is due for inspection. The guys here are honest mechanics! Its hard to know what auto shops u can trust to take ur car to especially as a woman. The mechanics at Fountain Street Auto always do a great job. They will let me know if my car needs any work done & they never tell me it needs something it dont! My son also brings his car here. Recently he took his car in for inspection & it needed some work that they do not do but they were honest & they recommended a place that would fix it. They even gave him time to have it fixed & bring back in without charging him again for inspecting it the 2nd time! Thank You guys, stay honest!!

Very knowledgeable and flexible. Helped me find my documents online and showed me how to renew and get them sent to me when I couldn’t find them. Very honest about if my car needed the special synthetic oil or not and didn’t just lie to me cause I’m a girl. Will definitely be what I use as my regular mechanic

The staff is always great and very helpful, I seem to always find the nails on the road and this place gets me in with speedy service. Others shops in the area have told me too busy or under staffed but Fountain always come through and thats why I will be bringing all my automotive business to them.

Ive taken my car here a few times now for oil changes, inspections, and brake pad replacements and Id recommend them to anyone. Their staff is professional over the phone and in person, they have good customer service, and the work is always done well. The prices are fair and they are always upfront about costs for service, they maintain good communication with you when your car is in their hands, and everything is done in a very reasonable amount of time. Giving them my business is an easy decision for me at this point.

I started going there when I moved into the Manayunk area 7 years ago, I have since moved further into the city but still take my car there. Ten year relationship with this mechanic. Always truthful about conditions of car. Timing is always fair, and when they are slammed, they give good updates and don’t hold you hanging. I could live on the moon and I’d still bring my car here. Consistently great service, fair prices, and truly honest mechanics. I needed a new battery that wasn’t in stock and they had it ordered and installed within an hour and a half. This is just the latest of my good experiences with these guys. The best.

I cant recommend this place highly enough. Ive lived in the area for 6 years now and have been to a few different mechanics in the area, and Fountain St Auto is definitely the best. The guys there are really nice and do a good job explaining what the issue is. Theyre also very honest and will let you know what actually needs to be done to get you the best bang for your buck.

The best place to go. Only issue is sometimes it’s hard to get in on short notice, but that comes with the territory. Give honest advice even if it’s not their own best interest (I.e. told us to get rid of our old car if we could and not invest hundreds of dollars in repairs).

Brian and his staff are awesome. They always tell you what you actually need done and what can wait. They also have much better prices than anywhere else. They dont rake you over the coals with labor and really know their stuff. When I had to get my clutch replaced a couple of years ago, Brians price was HALF of any other quote I got. Since then, I dont even bother shopping around. Brian is always willing to talk to you and make sure you understand what is going on and will tell you what you need to pass inspection and what you can wait on if you dont want to fork up more money to fix everything at that time. Great, honest mechanic which is very very hard to find these days. I take both my wife and my car there now for everything without a second thought.Keep up the great work over there, even if/when I end up moving a little further away from this place I will still more than likely make a drive up here to give them the business. It is so nice to have a mechanic you can really trust.GREAT establishment!

These guys are great! They took their time and figured out what was wrong with my car. That saved me tons of money because there was a recall. The guys at Fountain Street Auto are a breathe of fresh air. I live in Manayunk which made their location desirable. Dropped off my wifes Jetta for inspection and everything was completed and finalized in the same day. Brian let me know the brakes needed to be changed to pass and the rotors were low but passable, ultimately leaving the decision up to me with no pressure whatsoever. Aside from the reasonable pricing, the customer service was probably the best at an auto shop Ive ever received. To top it off, there was a plastic piece on the gear shift that kept falling off prior to inspection that Brian and team glued back on without even mentioning and they found our missing tire key. My only regret is not finding these guys sooner.

I took my car here to have a lightbulb replaced. After having my car for more than six hours they told me they couldnt fix it and that maybe a piece is missing. I took it to the dealer and they said it was definitely a piece missing. I was told that Id have to purchase a new lens for a total of $716 including labor because the piece isnt sold separately. My husband decided to go back to Fountain Street Auto and asked if theyd forgotten to give me any additional pieces, it was then that they told my husband that they dropped the piece inside of the lens and couldnt get it out. I will NEVER go here again because of the DISHONESTY! They shouldve taken responsibility and told us the truth! They never offered to replace the lens knowing all along it was their Fault! DONT GO TO FOUNTAIN STREET AUTO SERVICES!

I had a great experience, my gf originally went up the street to Jiffy Lube to get her car inspected, but according to them it was too late(even though the guy that does the inspections was still there). Not only did they take care of me, but the price was cheaper and I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time! They definitely have a customer in me, great job guys!

Everyone searches for a place to take their car, and if you didnt grow up with someone that opened one up you are always cautious of how they are upselling or over charging you. I think when dealing with mechanics its very similar to what I do with computer repair. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO TRUST. Being able to understand something that others do not, some choose to exploit this by overcharging or worse fabricate damages when their are none! In the end its greed and short sightedness. Brian is great, offers solid mechanic work. They are a bit pricey, but try to find you good pricing options on parts. Its often hard to get work done quickly because they are so busy.......but, that is why they are so busy, because they are very good.

I really appreciate these guys. As a woman its hard to trust people to fix your car right and charge you fairly. One time I was adamant that there was an issue and they kept my car for a few days. They found nothing major and I wasnt charged. Nor did they make up an issue just to get money. I refuse to take my car anywhere else.

Once youre pulled in Fountain Street Auto will not Acknowledge your long time patronage. After giving fountain street auto thousands of dollars worth of business they ripped me off for a thermometer for my coolant that was not needed. Instead of being courteous like they did when I first started going there they topped off their saws with a mandatory service fee just to test a part that actually worked ended up spending 220 dollars on a part and labor I didnt need, found a new mechanic two weeks later.

As nice as the staff is there they lied to me. They told me they put on Mazda brake pads after taking off the ones they put on originally that were not Mazda ones. I made several trips there over several months concerned with the grinding noise when I stepped on my brakes with the original and the replaced ones. I took it to the Mazda dealer concerned with the grinding noise and my safety and they showed me they were not Mazda brake pads that the Fountain Auto Service put on my car as they stated when they replaced the first ones. Upsetting!!

Couldnt give me an appt for a week but offered ro squeeze me in if I could drop off car. Anthony kept me updated on repairs and called to suggest a way to save some money. Ive been going to Fountain Street Auto with my VW R32 for at least a few years now and thought it was time to give them a review! Brian and his team are incredibly honest and kind. I dont have to worry for one second that I may be getting something done to my car that isnt necessary. Theyll even tell you if they notice any potential upcoming problems without trying to up-sell you. They genuinely just want to give you a heads up so you dont suddenly realize, oh no, I need two new tires, brakes and rotors...I knew this months ago when I got an oil change and was aware they may not pass inspection so I could plan accordingly! Seriously the best...but the consistently full parking lot speaks for itself. Glad to have these guys right up the street!

Took care of an inspection, oil change, and a brake issue in a few hrs. Only charged for the inspection and oil change bc the brake fix was easy to do! Staff is very easy going but friendly. They handle calls great. Only word of advice, call in a few hrs to check on the car. It might be done sooner than expected and they didnt call to let me know that it was finished.

After I had received an $850 quote from another garage for replacement of struts and springs, I went to Fountain Street Auto Service for a second opinion. I experienced impeccable service and kindness from the staff. As a female, it is nerve-wracking to bring your car to an unfamiliar garage because of the fear of being taken advantage of. However, that was not the case. Karl took a ride with me in my car, was very friendly and making small talk, and willing to help me in every way possible. Since, it was the one day that the car wasnt making the noise (just my luck) and I knew the noise was coming from the rear wheel, he took the rear wheel and drum off the car to look and inspect to make sure that everything looks as it should free of charge. I am very thankful for the service and the help that this garage has provided me, and would recommend it to anyone that I come in passing with. Excellent customer service, excellent knowledge, and excellent experience.

Might I add, Brian also needs a side job as an automotive escort to assist vulnerable women and slap around these other local mechanics (ahemmm, Connicelli) and get the truth and call Bull $&#! when it comes to a diagnostic for a freaking P0420 CODE!!!!! But...i digress....he is very patient and understanding even after I called him like 30 times complaining about Conicellis unicorn theorys, about my car, and told me exactly what needs to be done for a wayyyyy cheaper price. I will never go anywhere else.
