Things started out good was good service they took care of a problem took 2 months but they took care of it. But shop manager told me to be the sales cause he sold it to me I text him to let him know it runs good and that I need to get the headlights looked at and may need new ones also was going to bring a friend there to buy a wrangler but now I will not and found another shop.At least tell me you do not want to work on it or we can not handle that kind of jeep ok I understand still get good review for being honest but not saying anything that is just bad business.

This is the only place I trust to work on my vehicles. They do the highest quality work you can get, no corners cut whatsoever. They have a very high volume of customers but they work efficiently so its worth the wait.

Had a wonderful experience with Southern Off-road. I called ahead to confirm ability of the two ATVs we were interested in. Stephen got our information over the phone, called back with the deal and terms and we had an agreement in less than an hour. We drove to their location this morning, they had the ATvs and paperwork ready to go. Great guys, no hassle, an absolutely pleasant buying experience. I highly recommend.

This is one of the best custom auto shops in the south! I would highly! highly! recommend them to anyone who is trying to do any kind of custom work to their vehicle. When it comes to lift kits or any kind of custom work, they know what they’re doing. David explains everything very thoroughly and tells you the ups and downs on brands. He doesn’t try to sell you a particular brand just because. He actually sits down and explains what you’re getting and what is the difference between one brand and another.They don’t try to sell you something without you knowing what you’re getting. Especially being a woman coming into a shop trying to get customs to your truck they don’t take advantage of it, if you know what I mean. I have used them several times now and will continue to come back and recommend anyone who is looking for a dependable shop.A++++++++ shop!

I am new to the Jeep world as I have never owned one before. Ive been looking for a Jeep for my son for the last 5-6 months and have been in to Southern Off Road multiple times over that period asking for advise on what to look for and what to avoid. The staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful even though I wasnt there to buy anything at that time. In my opinion you find out a person and/or companys character when they are eager to help even when there is nothing for them to gain. Ive since purchased a Jeep and stopped by for advice on new shocks and tires. I was given advice and told to let them know if they could help in any way. It felt like one off road enthusiast helping out another...not a sales pitch. I researched their recommendations and found that what they told me was great advice and that they steered me away from the bad decision I was going to make. Ive chosen to have them handle my my wheels, tires and alignment because I felt that they are straight forward, honest and helpful. Ive already recommended them to several of my friends because finding a company that will deal with you honestly, fairly, professionally and in a friendly manner seems to be harder and harder these days. I highly recommend these guys. Dont take my word...stop by and find out for yourself!

This has to have been the fastest and easiest transaction of buying a vehicle we have ever experienced. We drove 7 hours to buy it after they answered our questions and we agreed on the price. I honestly expected once we were here that we might be told there we some other fees like dealer prep but there were no slick salesman tactics.After we inspected the truck and test drove it we confirmed we were buying it. From that time, we had all the paperwork prepped, signed, and ready to leave in about 15 minutes. Cash purchase so if we financed it would have taken a bit longer but still would have been very efficient.Everything with the truck was as advertised and in excellent condition. There was no detailing of the engine compartment to hide any issues so we saw it as it was. The truck is immaculate inside and out.We are extremely pleased with everything about our experience here. We would highly recommend them to anyone and would definitely do business with them again in the future.

These guys are awesome! I recently had them install four Bilstein 5100 shocks/struts to level out my truck, along with a set of of Toyo ATII 275/65/20 tires. They were extremely helpful, answering all my questions up to the day of install. On the install day, they stuck with it past close in order to get my truck back to me that evening. I absolutely love the results and highly recommend Southern Offroad!

Jeep ownership is not for sissies. I wanted to take a moment and send a big thanks to the service crew at SOR in Pelham, AL. I jumped into Jeep ownership with a some assembly required 1976 CJ5. I was looking for a project and I enjoy a good challenge. After getting it mostly together I found myself a little out of my depth to get it completely road worthy. The SOR team gladly took me in and helped me get everything right with my old CJ5. The service manager kept me up to date on progress and guided me on several drive train issues. In the end, I felt that the technicians did excellent work with meticulous attention to detail. My old Jeep isnt perfect, but I will enjoy driving my Jeep now rather than looking at it broke in my garage. Im sure sooner or later Ill be back to get some more help, but for now I know I have some friends at SOR that do quality work and will treat me fair.

Nothing but excuses. Way overpriced.Response to owner:Excuses of having 55 vehicles working on at the time. Took 3 months to do diagnostics report. Kind of had attitude when I would call to check on it. Explained all the issues it had when I dropped it off 3 months earlier. Was told no problem. Then given a 12,000 dollar estimate which I wouldn’t have had a problem with if they would have been honest on the timeline of fixing it. It seemed like y’all didn’t want the work to be perfectly honest. It’s at a local shop now and will be repaired to running condition soon. Completely restored next spring. Thanks.

My truck is still in their garage as I write this but these guys are amazing. They are super friendly and helpful. I’m having a new set of wheels, tires, and a muffler and these guys really have helped me to stay in my budget. To top it off, they took the time to schedule me a day early and squeeze me into their schedule so i could handle some personal stuff in the upcoming week.

Both times Ive used them, they have been professional and courteous. Will definately use them for any future needs. Went above and beyond today with installing new tires by road testing and recognizing my mud guards now rubbed and recommended to remove them. They did the removal at no additional charge.

These guys were amazing! They stayed late to finish up my truck so I could head out of town the next day. Everyone was so knowledgeable and friendly. They turned what began as a bad experience (needing some unexpected repair work in the first place) into a great one by immediately determining the problem and repairing it - even after hours! I hesitate to write this review, as I have not yet received my vehicle from the service department here. That said, Im afraid Ill forget my frustration when (if) they ever finish my Jeep. I dropped off my 1995 Wrangler to get a new fuel pump and fuel filter replaced, as well as have a few other things checked (check engine light and noise in suspension). A week after I dropped it off, I had not heard from them. I called, and was told Id be called back with a status update. Didnt happen. I gave it a few more days and called back ... to be told they would call me back with an update. Again, didnt happen. The third time I complained loudly and again was told Id be given a call back. I finally received a call and gave them the go-ahead to make necessary repairs. This, evidently, was a bad idea. As I write this, it has been another week without a single update. I just hung up the phone with a guy there who said hed be calling me back with an update. Im not holding my breath. Theyve had my Jeep for three weeks now and have yet to call me a single time without being verbally prodded (on multiple occasions) to do so. I will update this review once the work is done ... assuming they ever finish the job. Im hoping they see this post and respond with a little more haste. Again, not holding my breath.An update: The manager there admitted dropping the ball and has called me since with several updates on my Jeep. He removed the charge for inspecting my vehicle and is also getting me a free part. So, the rating for this company is starting to rise in my book, as I appreciate them making amends. Ill make a final post once the work is done with notes on quality of work.Another update: There is a day and night difference in the communication now. I was called often with updates. Finally picked up my Jeep and they gave me a significant discount on labor and parts due to the incredibly long wait time. I think this is fair and I appreciate them doing that. The work on the Jeep appeared to be very well done. It is now driving better than it has since I bought it. What started off as a 1-star review has climbed to a 3-star review based on the quality of work (5-star) and the vast improvement in communication.

700 miles away from my home in WV and I came to Southern Off Road in hopes that they could help me beef up my 2016 F-150. The boys did not disappoint! If I could give a negative amount of stars I would. We bought a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ for $6k in November 2018 from them that looked and sounded great. Within a short time I had to have the whole front end rebuilt because it was falling apart. I never drove this vehicle off road. My mechanic said I was lucky I didn’t wreck the car because it did what he called a death shake when you had to apply the brakes at any speed over 40mph due to the condition it was in. Now I’m having to put more money into it because of more mechanical issues. My husband and I were told that the car had been checked out by their mechanics. In fact we had to wait for them to bring it out to us. At that time I was told their mechanics were paid for everything they found wrong with the vehicles. It also took them six months to get the title to me. Don’t buy anything from them without having it checked by your own mechanic first.

I took my 2006 Jeep Wrangler to another local chain mechanic shop and wasted my time, money, and some more time. I made an appointment at Southern Off-Road and had the front end problem fixed correctly. I returned to have new rims and tires put on. Danny was able to price match and answer all my questions. The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous.

Danny and the folks at Southern Off-road are amazing! The are very helpful and knowledgable about ANY kind of off-road vehicle you have. I bought a Jeep Renegade a few months back and knew that I wanted a mean-looking ride that would take me places it wouldnt go stock. Honestly these guys are very laid back and good guys. Had some spacers order from them and came in within no time and the even offered to put them on my truck since i bought the spacers from them. they charged me for the spacers and did not even charge me for the labor of putting them on. Southern offroad has worked on 30-40 different trucks and cars for me over last 3-4 years. They have installed 20-30 lifts, 20+ sets of running boards, 20 light bars, 5-10 air ride systems, and no telling how many sets of wheels and even lowering kits on challengers. These guys are great, all ways top notch work, always on time and a great value for the money.

These guys have been awesome. My dad had his h2 lifted here. He really enjoyed spending his money here ;) my dad passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago and today his h2 is in my driveway a thousand miles from home to give her a little tlc (I loved helping my dad). Ive used Southern Off-Road for over a year now. They are VERY knowledgeable and their workmanship is top quality! The ONLY time I had a problem, they offered to fix it (which they did) and Ive come to realize, its the QUALITY of the products AND their workmanship. Thats the perfect combination. When I had the problem before (interior and exterior color changing led strip lights for my sons Raptor). Anyway, I asked for something out of the norm and it wasnt a product they recommended. They installed them anyway and when I wasnt happy (due to water getting in the led strip outside) they replaced them inside AND out with high quality, Rigid color LEDs. My son loves them! Ive had NO problems and that was almost a year ago. Ive since had other things done (muffler, front bumper with rigid LEDs). There is NO PLACE that I would rather take any vehicle I have, when I want upgrades/add-ons! They also will not compromise the integrity of the vehicle. All the guys have just been super when it comes to customer service. I cant imagine going anywhere else!

I never expected to get the great experience I got dealing with Scotty, Keith, and Danny while building my 07 Wrangler. The wealth of knowledge and customer service I received while buying parts was great and I learned a lot from the guys. They dont make you feel like you dont know anything like the competition down the street. They actually look out for customer.

I have followed southern offroad on Facebook for years and saw so many of the builds they have done. Ive always been impressed, with that being said Im a offroad enthusiast but I love any project no matter what it is when it comes to any type of vehicle. I have always done the builds on my trucks, rock crawlers and my rzr at my buddies shop. Well 2 weeks ago I called Danny at southern offroad who I met a few years back when he bought some parts of my old crawler, and told him what I was looking for he immediately remembered me and he not only got me a price on the exact parts I was wanting but he made sure it wasnt all about business we started talking a out his latest project he was building etc.. I told him with all the hours I have been working I didnt have time to upgrade my build so he got my a price on labor and parts and asked when I wanted to bring my truck. We set up a appointment day and I dropped it off. I went back the next day since I was off to go ahead and pay, and I met David the service manager he showed me what had already been installed and let me look at everything and we talked about old builds and I told him how I had followed them for years and enjoyed alot of the builds they had done. David told me that really meant alot to him and that it was awesome how I had been a fan of theres for so long he was very grateful. So I went to pick my truck up yesterday and the guys stayed 2 hours past closing time to finish my truck so I could have it even though I did not tell them they had to. But David insisted and told me he was going to make sure I was taken care of and completely happy with everything which is unheard of many or most places. I had them install 6 deaver g26 leaf springs and cognito boxed upper control arms and bilstein 5100 shocks. With a front end alignment (it has to be done when changing alot of front suspension components) when it was finished David pulled it around front I looked everything over and he made sure I was completely happy with everything. Before I left he kept complimenting my truck and thanked me for allowing them to take part in the build. Not to long after I left he messaged me and asked me how everything was now that I had it on the road getting a feel for it and all I can say is, i am very satisfied with how much better it rides its a big difference, like I told David last night and Ill tell anyone reading this review the only people that will ever work on my truck other than me and my good buddy is the guys at southern offroad. If for whatever reason your not happy with someone another shop or southern offroad has done (which I dont know why you wouldnt be) make sure to talk to Danny or David they will make it right. They have earned my trust and respect. They now have another customer for life along with all the many many others they already have. Thanks again guys!

Made a mistake and took my truck to another off-road shop, had to have Southern Off-Road go behind them and clean up their mistakes. I have learned my lesson. Thanks to David at Southern Off-Road for taking care of me and fixing a mistake that wasn’t even his.

If there was any way to give Southern Off Road ZERO stars I would.I took a jeep XJ in for a front end alignment after a tie rod end was replaced on the track bar by another shop.(this shop did not do alignments)Southern Off Roads technician (who also claimed to be the manager) reported that the female threads on the track bar were worn and prevented them from even getting the tie rod to thread in ....thus a new track bar AND tie rod end were required.I was not particularly happy to hear this since I had just paid another shop for a new tie rod....but I went ahead and took Southern Off Roads advice.....So..... a $98 alignment is now nearly $400 with a new track bar, tie rod end and labor.....When I picked up the XJ....I requested the old bar and tie rod end.....ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS THREADING IN THE TIE ROD..... THEY LIED ABOUT THE NEED FOR A NEW TRACK BAR....WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY.....THE TECHNICIAN THAT SAID HE WAS THE MANAGER HAS ABOSLUTLY ZERO BUSINESS SENSEI was a repeat customer....having spent over $2k with this shop in 2016 aloneThey will never get a dime of my money again and I cant recommend this shop to anyone

Scope of work:2016 TacomaBilstein 5100s & AALsBF AT KO2s (mounted, balanced, & aligned)Im giving this shop 5 stars based off of the finished product I received and the constant communication between the staff and I. The shop ran into an issue with ARB and the OME springs I originally requested. Turns out ARB shipped them the wrong springs (mislabeled or something) and the correct springs were back ordered. Southern Off Road was super transparent through all of the setbacks and they got my approval on some picky things like tire rub on the UCA at full lock. This whole experience gave me the impression that they care about the final end user experience a great deal.They ended using the factory springs and did not charge me a dime for OME springs they had already purchased. Pricing on all of this was super fair. Parts costs right at what I found on the internet and the labor was reasonable. It sucked having to give up the truck over night while they worked through the issues with my lift but Im glad they persisted on getting the job done correctly.

These folks know what they are doing. This is the best place around for your offroad needs or vehicle maintenance. Dont waste your time with small shade tree shops. Southern Off Road has all the skill and resources for your needs. (05 duramax 2500 HD, 10 inch cognito lift, 40 inch tires) Big trucks do not lie!

Not very impressed with the work and the attitude of the mechanics. Took my Jeep to have some work done and the mechanic found something else but did not tell me until after the other work was done. And when I asked about the repair he said I would have to make another appointment to come back and have that work done. Also when I got home I found that the mechanic had put the wrong switch in my Jeep.

I trusted Southern Off-Road with my 2014 Jeep JKU, which already had some work done on it when I bought it a couple of months ago (lift, tires/wheels, some iron, etc.). A day or so after contacting them, Alex emailed a written quote to me for changing the 3.21 factory gears to 4.56 Yukon gears. The estimates one gets from most auto shops are not nearly as detailed as the multi-paged document I received by email, so I was surprised and optimistic. I was told the work would take about a week, but as I live over an hour away, I made an appointment to drive it up on on a Saturday and pick it up the next weekend. I scheduled the work about a month in advance to give them time to get the gear sets and master install kits in. Between the time of the quote and the time I dropped off my Jeep, I contacted them and made a number of changes to the work order to include a pair of Teraflex HD differential covers, a Detroit Tru-Trac limited slip unit for the rear, and a different SuperChips programmer so that I would have more control over the JKs computer. Alex also suggested a different gasket for both covers so that I wouldnt have to pay for a new gasket every time they were removed, which I thought was a logical and sound idea. I thought all of this would mean changes to the labor costs, but it did not. I only paid for the different parts cost, which was confirmed in writing, in advance. Now, if that wasnt awesome enough, when they cracked open the rear differential, they found that the factory gears were severely damaged, with pieces of the gear teeth floating around in the bottom of the unit. I was promptly notified by phone to make me aware and, when I picked it up (on time, exactly as originally scheduled), they had saved all of the old parts, showed them to me, and then put them in a box in the back of my Jeep. Alex even emailed pictures of the damaged gears that he had taken when they first cracked open the rear cover. The labor to inspect both the gear sets after the 500 mile break-in was included in the original estimate and I only needed to pay for the fluids.The total cost was EXACTLY what I was quoted, the total amount of time it took was EXACTLY what I was quoted, the advice I was given was EXACTLY correct, and unexpected issues were dealt with promptly, efficiently, and at minimal cost to me.An unusually-high level of customer service, professionalism, and quality.Nice job, guys. Nice job indeed.

Dropped my Jeep off to get a Step up bar installed and they managed to dent the side of my Jeep. They denied it, even after I pointed out the freshly chipped paint. I spoke to the service manager and the service manager admitted that he did not notice the dent when the vehicle was dropped off, but still refused to repair the damage.

I havent spent any money there yet but Im sure I will be. They answered many of my questions about lift kits. Very friendly and patient with my ignorant questions.

I called them about some shocks and the the guy said I will call you back in a couple of hour he never did so I called him back the next day he was on vacation now ant that good sevice

I can no longer patronize Southern Off Road because it supports a sponsors a questionable group that is directly opposed to Alabama values.

I will not use this place for any work for my vehicle. For the amount of trouble that has been caused for one of my family members I wouldnt recommend this place even if you needed a new tire.

I had a buddy take his 04 Tahoe to yall and yall charged him 500$ to just look at his vehicle and wasnt even able to work on his vehicle after this man came nearly 75 miles to go to yalls shop and thats how yall treat him after he was about to trust you with his ride and his money, thats not how you treat your customers, after me being told this story I will be sure to spread the word to tell people not to bring their business to you, thank you!
