I had been experiencing a couple of different noises related to a loose striker in my trunk. The crew at Griffis were extremely pleasant and timely, and my car was back on the road the same day I dropped it off. They were even able to text me updates as I was at work while the repair occurred and could not pick up the phone. I would recommend Griffis to anybody in Orlando.

Dropping off my wifes vehicle yesterday reminded me that I owed Griffis a long overdue review for the work they did on my 06 Sierra in March. The A/C hadnt really ever worked in the time that Id owned the truck and I had a couple shops look at it but never pursued the repairs given my 179K miles. Finally brought the truck to Griffis on the recommendation of some friends and was extremely pleased with the results.Tim was upfront about issues that came up as my A/C was a mess and it required a little rabbit holeing to get things 100%, they also tackled a rear main seal and new valley gasket (both things I would only trust to a dealership in the past). Three months later the A/C runs like brand new and I have yet to see a drop of oil in the driveway. Quality technicians, and a great front end staff will keep my family coming back for all of our service and repairs.

RIP-OFF ALERT!My wife started her car to go to work a couple weeks ago, but it began shaking badly and the check engine light went on. She called me to tell me about it, so I told her she should take it to Griffis Automotive Repair Inc on Bumby Avenue, because it was close to our home. She drove the car there and they told her they needed to replace the 4 spark plugs, replace one ignition coil, and that they’d also do a fuel injection service. They were very nice and offered to drive my wife home, so that she wouldn’t have to wait there all day.A few hours later, they called and told her the car was done. I was home from work by then, so we both went back to pick up the car and thats when we saw that the total bill was $550!!! We politely paid the bill in full, but when I got home I looked over the bill, and used little ole Google to figure out the cost of the parts they installed.The same Denso Coil-On-Plug Ignition OEM Standard Ignition coil that they installed is also sold at AutoZone, for $89. Griffis Auto charged my wife $200 for that same part! I understand that some mechanics make profit off of parts, but charging 2 to 3xs more than the price Autozone sells it for is ridiculous. I called Griffis and spoke with Tim Harper, the gentlemen working at the desk that day, and I asked him about the huge disparity in the cost for the parts. He told me that they do make a little profit off of parts, and that if they didn’t profit as much off of the parts installed on my wife’ car that they would have had to of charged her a higher hourly labor fee. I don’t know much about the auto mechanic industry so I figured I had no choice but to accept his reason.Shortly after that conversation, I called Firestone, because I was curious how much they would charge me for the same exact service, using the same exact parts, plus a fuel injection service, and they quoted me a price of $413. $137 dollars less than Griffis Auto Repair! Firestone was the only other auto repair shop that I called, but I assume I could have found another auto repair shop that would have quoted me a less expensive price than FireStone.I once again called Griffis Auto, and again I spoke with Tim Harper, and I asked him to explain why they are charging so much more than Firestone, and that I was thinking about posting my experience on social media. He apologized, and thanked me for calling to give him a chance to explain things before posting about it on social media. He offered an $80 refund for the “misunderstanding” I accepted the refund of course, but what I still do NOT accept is a family owned business that in my opinion, tried to take advantage of a person that went into their business one morning with the expectation of high quality honest customer service from a neighborhood family owned auto-repair shop, but ended up sitting at home and wondering why the heck her husband would recommend such a place. Despite their refund (which still ended up being a price thats $57 more than Firestone), I feel its best to post about my experience to let others know the type of customer service that they could receive if they take their vehicle into Griffis Automotive Repair INC**UPDATE 7/21/19. Reply to Griffis post:Of course she agreed to $550, she thought her car was unsafe to drive elsewhere, and she has no clue about cars. She trusted that the price you gave was necessary for the problems her car had. Your shop is the kind of shop that people with no knowledge of cars fear that theyll end up at when theyre desperate for service!

Griffis Automotive is my new local shop to take all of my vehicles. I’ve been looking for a local place I can trust and found it here. My experience there has been quick and staff is very professional. The manager, Tim, and Holly, at the front desk are there to take care of you right, the first time. Even on a busy day, they took the time to fix my wife’s tire and have us back on the road in no time. The work is honest and fairly priced. I recommend to my family and friends.

Honest, friendly and knowledgeable mechanics! Today I thought I for sure had a faulty alternator, after a couple hours from dropping off I was told it was just dirt/corrosion on my battery terminals, saved me hundreds! Another time I brought my car in with what appeared to be a nail in the tire to get patched/replaced, after 15 minutes they called and told me it didnt puncture and they pulled it out free of charge. Best shop Ive ever been to.

I am so impressed with this auto repair business. They are totally professional and HONEST. I was told by Firestone I needed new front brakes. I just happened to find them online, they beat the price and after taking the tires off I was informed New brakes werent needed. Companies like this are hard to find and I will never go to any another place again for car issues. I recommend the highly!

My sons power steering hose was leaking (or so we thought) i took the car in after speaking with Timothy and it turns out that it was NOT what we thought but something that we had already repaired at a different location a few weeks prior. Tim was extremely professional and understanding. The repair was under warranty so, we did not end up using Griffis this time, BUT their professionalism and most importantly, their honesty-which is so refreshing in a mechanic -has made us new customers. Any time we have a problem with either car, i plan on coming back to Griffis Automotive repair. Just thought id let you all know about a Real Mechanic in the hourglass district. =)

Griffis automotive is by far the best repair shop i have been to in years. From holly inside the shop to tim the manager to the team of guys fixing my car, everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. They were able to get my car in and fixed and back on the road in no time! I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat!

After moving to the area, we were so happy to have stumbled across such a great auto shop! The staff has been so friendly and kind every time we go, and it seems like they really do care about their work. I have been doing business with Griffis for over 6 years (since I moved into the neighborhood). They are honest, fair and always go the extra mile. I highly recommend them. They have done every oil change and repair to my Ford Expedition (over 220,000 miles), Mazda MPV van, Fiat and 1991 VW Cabriolet (Phil loves the VW so if you have a vintage one be sure to take it here). They misdiagnosed my car. I’ve been going to Griffi’s for over 3 years. I’ve brought my car there a few times, got good service and left. I’ve noticed that their prices have been increasing each time that I take my car there.Last time I took my car there for an issue, they stated that there will be a $109 charge just for diagnostic. They’ve never had this charge before and they did not inform me this on the phone. I take my car there, they replace a part and I drive away. Not even a week go by and my car is giving the same issues it did before.So, I call inquiring whether or not they’ll charge me an additional $109 just to take a look at the problem they supposedly “fixed”. The lady on the phone could not give me a straight answer. We kept going back and forth. So, I took my car to another local shop. They were able to diagnose it within 30 minutes and the issue is permanently fixed. Griffis was good about 6 months ago, but they are slowly going down in quality.I don’t know if it’s new management or new owner, but charging $109 for diagnostic even when you get your own diagnostic wrong the first time is outrageous. If you want to be charged $109, an additional to parts+labor and then have to come again, then this is the place for you.EDIT:Shop replied and stated that theyve tried contacting me. There was no contact attempted. There was no misunderstanding, Im not going to take my car back to a shop that misdiagnose an issue and charges $370 to replace a perfectly good part.

I came in to this location skeptical because every repair shop I went to prior to going to Griffis Automotive, I was told they couldn’t or wouldn’t help me because it wasn’t “worth their time”. The only place that was willing to help me was this location. I walked into the door and was greeted with a smile, the repair technicians were very knowledgeable and I have never met a more helpful group of people. What makes this experience more special to me was that they did everything they could to repair my cars leaking fuel lines before Christmas. And to add a cherry on top, the few hours I have spent at the location, so many people came into the location to wish them a merry christmas, to buy the technicians lunch and brought them gifts. I have never seen a more family oriented repair shop that genuinely cares about their customers and seeing how grateful other customer were made me realize that I wasn’t the only one who has received an exceptional experience from them. “Troy” was the man who fixed the fuel line issue in my Buick and did an amazing job. I rarely give out reviews because I rarely receive an experience worth giving a review, but I know how hard it is to find a good repair shop and I would recommend Griffis Automotive because they will NOT take advantage of you and they WILL do everything they can to help you. Yeah, thats not a vehicle wed be interested in servicing.Really? Then do not call yourselves a full service shop. Maybe list what vehicles you are too incompentent to service so people dont waste their time calling your shop.

Not responsive to requests. Does not check fluids, air filter or greaseable fittings at oil changes. Part prices are outrageous.

Needed the exhaust manifold replaced on my 2005 Trailblazer - was told that they had done lots of these. First alert to trouble, dropped off the manifold and he has instructions on how to do the job pasted to the windshield of my car. Needless to say, 7 days later my car was not done. He said that he would have to remove the head to get to some of the bolts he was having trouble with. The cost of repair jumped from $200 to possibly $2000. No thank you! I took the car to another garage, and the job was complete in 24 hours.
