I was hoping to get a full diagnostic for an A/C system that seems to only work intermittently. They found a leak and fixed that, but it wasnt the whole issue. After taking the vehicle to them twice, Im still not really any better off. Its like they looked for the usual causes and didnt want to go any further than that. They couldnt recreate the issue, but I am not confident they tried more than once.At least they didnt overcharge and they didnt make anything worse, I guess. I was willing to pay what was necessary to get this fixed - including extra time needed to diagnose. I am going to have to go to another shop to try again.

Ive done some shopping around at other automotive places nearby, and Larsen by far has been the most reliable and trustworthy shop. Ive always been able to get my car in quickly, and even though I have an old vehicle that could use a lot of work, they are good at breaking things down into what needs to be done and what I can live with if Im OK living with it. 😉 They even took the time to troubleshoot with me on the phone when I was having troubles on the road. Couldnt recommend this place more!

I sheered a stud on my engine for the valve cover gasket. Larsen’s was able to drill it out and fix it while only charging minimal labor time. They have been what a local auto shop should be, welcoming, responsible, willing to help and doing quality work.

My Tundra was overheating, and I had to add water daily; Larsens diagnosed this as a broken radiator cap, they replaced the cap, flushed the coolant and changed the oil&filter; for this they charged $353, a price I considered excessive. Within 1 week, I found a small puddle of pink antifreeze on my garage floor, she is still leaking. I spoke with the shop, and they reported the possibility that I might be charged a second diagnosis fee - IF THEY overlooked something and there is a second leak. I already paid a (steep) diagnosis fee once; their warranty is worthless. Off to the dealer I go!

I brought my truc to them to diagnose rough driving and fuel economy issues. They barely looked at it. But told me the head gasket was blown. They charged me over a hundred to diagnose it. And quoted me thousands to fix it. Next they told me my truck was essentially dead. I drove it home and proceeded to drive it for the next few months. It never showed signs of a blown headgasket. When I decided to get a second opinion. I was informed I had not blown the headgasket. And if I had gotten this diagnosis and fixed it earlier it wouldve saved me now thousands of dollars to repair. I have a problem with places charging me for a misdiagnosis. Especially one that costs me more money. Ill never bring a vehicle here again. And neither should you.

Ive taken my car in a couple times to these guys and they are great. I just recently went in and had a laundry list for them - oil change, headlight out, break lights out and a check engine light on. I didnt expect for them to fit me in that day, but they didnt feel right letting me leave without fixing my lights and checking the engine. I had to hit the road to pick my son up from school so they quickly got me in and out in about 20 minutes and scheduled the rest of the work for later in the week. Didnt even worry about charging my card for the immediate work - just put it on the bill for one transaction.I appreciate their service, that they explain their repairs and why they are done and they do their best to accommodate their customers schedules. Super friendly and fair prices as well - and a cute office doggo too.

I came here for a 100k service, wanting to go to a local business before dealership. All they did was check over the engine. When paying for it, a mechanic was telling me how important it is to keep up on oil changes with my car, yet it wasnt done as part of the service. They wanted me to reschedule for an oil change AND replace the filters. This should have been done with the service. The people are super nice, but I wont be back.

Saw the shop manager, Matthew, deal with a female customer (not that all females are ignorant of automobile repairs, but in general females are taken advantage of in the automobile repair industry) in a way that would make me feel comfortable sending my mom or brother or ANYONE who doesn’t know about cars their way. No BS, HONEST and SINCERE, and didn’t try to pull any of the “oh by the way you need...” stuff. Got my issue fixed without a hassle and the price was right. I have been going to Larsen Automotive for over 25 years. My brothers are mechanics, and they have told me that Larsen has always done good work at fair prices on my cars. I appreciate their knowledge and care. They also make their schedule fit mine rather than the other way around . When I had gotten new vehicles through the years, I found my treatment at the car dealers was not as good as what I have gotten at Larsen. Its a good feeling to be able to call for a quick check on any aberration in my cars functioning, and a solution found. I will be forever thankful to my friend, a high school auto teacher who first recommended Larsen to me those many years ago.

Great work, super trustworthy. Moved from out of state where a chain repair shop had me convinced I needed new radiator for over a grand. Brought it here to get the work done, they called and let me know that the radiator was fine. Could easily have taken advantage but was honest instead.

Larsens was recommended by 3 coworkers, so I went here. Wasnt crazy that the labor rate is $110/hr or that the car parts are marked up from OReillys price by a whopping 50%, but I did like that they finished my car quickly, didnt get oil all over the interior, and didnt charge me a fee for being a woman which Ive had happen so very many times. I would trust these guys with my car and Im very attached to my car. I would also be sure to call around though so youre informed about what youre paying for. That $110/hr labor charge can add up quickly. And make sure to get a printed quote before they work on your car.

The staff at Larsen Automotive were extremely helpful and friendly. Even though I know very little about cars, they were not condescending and made me feel welcome. They have a nice waiting room with coffee and magazines. The work they did on the car was fast and well-priced. I would definitely recommend them.

When I had my car towed to Larsens on Sunday afternoon, I knew it would be cared for with excellence. Monday morning at 8:00 am Taylor called asking whats wrong. I could confidently tell him, please diagnose and call me when you have the cost figured. About 1/2 hr. later he called to say it was a broken axle. At 11:30 they called to say my car was ready! I thought Id be without a car for a few days. Im so grateful to Larsens, and the quality staff Matt has working there. They care about taking care of my car. When they fix it, they do it right the first time. Matts dog, who minds the office with special dog responsibilities, is a sweetheart.

Today I was helped by Mathew - Id brought my car in expecting to drop a ton of doe to have a new clutch installed as the auto shop where Ive had my service done to this point told me that it needed done ASAP. Mathew took the car for a test drive and inspected it (free of charge); following this he said that he could not in good conscience tell me that the clutch needed replacing yet. Moral of the story? Larsens Automotive Repair values honesty, friendliness, and good work above profit. Ill be back!

I broke down on the road one time in my diesel and got a tow here, they opened up the hood and quickly saw a problem with the ECU wire, they fixed it up and sent me on the way for beer money.Great shop!

Got a repair done and they left a box wrench, a pair of pliers, magnetic stick and a shop rag on top of my engine right over the area where the belts are. When I called to let them know, they laughed it off and said it was no big deal, happens all the time. I’m lucky those tools didn’t fall onto the belts and destroy everything under the hood and possibly cause me to wreck my car. So far the repair is holding up but to not be concerned about tools left under someone’s hood sure is disconcerting to me.

I have been serviced by Larsens for about 40 years. They are my trusted mechanics, so I still bring my cars there even though I live in Shelton. They will tell you what really needs to be done on your car, not a laundry list of things like you may get at other places. They do a great job and I highly recommend them.

Only auto repair I feel I can trust. Theyre amazing.

I have initially gone there for an oil change, they had the highest rating around. They did good quick work and fit it around my schedual for a really good price. I decided to take it back for some more work. I went in and got my window fixed, speakers looked at and an inspection. Sure the window is fixed, but there are now huge scratches in the tint and on the window which is going to make a dent in price when I chose to sell it. I then went in for a full inspection (i knew issues that were wrong) and told them about my breaks and about a fuel sensor light flickering. Initially it had been about breaks, i got a call about a wheel seal and I had no idea why and this was going to be a few hundred dollars just in labor they also told me that they have to do it because of contamination, yet I went there for a full inspection only a couple weeks prior and that wasnt wrong. Then when I showed up at the shop, someone made the decision to put new break pads on aswell without my consent adding on another hundred. I received my inspection back from them again hoping to have a clue about the fuel sensor that I knew was messing up and hoping to see that they checked my A/C and heat were working, and no such thing was written down. They do fast work and the oil change was a breeze, but I think everything else is a bit rediculas. I am poor and adding on an extra $500 to someone seriously makes them want to reconsider ever going here again.
